With the names branded about I'm swaying towards McLaren for our next coach and also hope our DOF can get a few body's in on January. Couple sambas from Brazil would do for me.

07 Nov 2017 09:16:26
Oh bluedrama. You disappoint me in your thoughts. Mclaren. The mans that good he works in israel as adviser. No one in england would have him. So why us for gods sake. Get a grip man and think positive. No doubt you were a favorite for oor pedro

06 Nov 2017 19:10:18
Dont know why mclaren is getting so much stick. he won the dutch league wae twente and took middlesbourgh 2 uefa cup final and won a cup 2 i'm sure. saying he could handle the pressure is nonsense cause he was the england manager lol. much better cv than brenda and he would attract a better standard of player than mccinnes.

06 Nov 2017 21:13:41
Couldnt*oops lol

06 Nov 2017 18:33:34
Haven’t really seen anyone saying it but I’d like to see Ray Wilkins come in, in some capacity. Thoughts?

06 Nov 2017 20:42:40
Great. assistant manager or coach but unfortunately the new manager will have his own men. It would need to be Ancelloti. . and I don't that would happen !

06 Nov 2017 19:56:03
What that old drunk no thanks lost all respect for him after he called the French top flight a pathetic league that guy is an idiot another sky sports pundit who over hypes the English premiership.

06 Nov 2017 17:14:39
Well another eventful day in the press regarding our managerial appointment. It would appear that McInnes is still the front runner although who outside the boardroom really knows? One thing I would note from today is that if Bilic is at all interested then the board should speak to the man! I’m not saying he should definitely get it above McInnes but a conversation should be happening IF he’d be interested.

I’m sure it would be an appointment that would galvanise everyone!

06 Nov 2017 19:09:59
why would we consider bilic? spent loads at west ham, would want a massive wage and achieved square root of feck all.

06 Nov 2017 19:56:39
Definitely

06 Nov 2017 20:41:40
Well if achievements is the minimum requirement we have then the only options would be mcLaren, McLeish, Sir Walter or Gio Van Bronckhorst then as no other candidate I can see has achieved anything of note.

With Bilic it’s the passion of the man and his ability to engage with players and supporters alike.

Obviously it’s not worked out for him at West Ham but there are circumstances which have contributed to his sacking today, not least the fact that the players were being signed with little input from him.

If we are discounting anyone whose had a bad spell at s club then we don’t have much of a shortlist left!

06 Nov 2017 21:50:09
Did Bilic have a good spell at the hammers?

06 Nov 2017 21:53:00
Good post @WeeBear. Looking at what the majority would like and what the board apparently expect, would the option of Bilic as head coach on a season rolling contract with Murty as No2 or at least part of senior coaching staff, not be the most feasible. again if Bilic was in agreement?

07 Nov 2017 01:43:41
wee bear he has been binned from his last three jobs though mate, west ham, turkey and russia where he saw the club have their lowest finish for years. also supposdedly was on 4.8 million a year. Not feasible or a good option in my opinion

07 Nov 2017 08:18:09
Exactly wee-bear, even guys like Wattie, Rodgers, Jose even Sir Alex have all been sacked. we can't dismiss every candidate that's lost a job.

06 Nov 2017 17:10:41
Some managers who are free at the moment:

Big Sam
Moyes
Bilic
Koeman
McLeish
De Boer
Souness

I don't rate McInnes as a future Gers manager. I@d go for Koeman or Big Sam out of that list. Big profile managers.

06 Nov 2017 17:59:45
My shortlist would be:

Gio van Bronckhorst
Jack Ross
Derek McInnes
Slaven Bilic
Sam Allardyce
Graham Potter

Lots of different backgrounds and all with an element of risk (some more than others) and obviously some would probably not be interested but that’s just my list!

06 Nov 2017 18:02:55
Would you class Souness as a manager considering he has been out of the game since 2006?

06 Nov 2017 19:36:54
big sam for me all day long

he’s got the mentality to be at a big club his teams tend to play winning football with some resilience and dig over style if needs be which we desp need to stand up to brenda

06 Nov 2017 19:57:56
I'd say bilic or big Sam has to be top targets bilic I think will deff like the job.

06 Nov 2017 20:40:29
In my household Mr Souness is simply the greatest. best player I have ever seen and a great manager for Rangers but even I have to agree. he's too long out of the game and why on earth would he give up SKY.

07 Nov 2017 02:11:17
Big Koeman of orange for me! big Sam or Pardew after that

07 Nov 2017 08:09:35
Dutch

Souness was a great player but how can you possibly say he was better than Messi, Ronaldo or Maradona?

07 Nov 2017 10:04:08
sparky1320 different player from those two why do you have to nit pick on peoples opinions

06 Nov 2017 16:19:24
I hope to god Mclaren doesn’t get it but sky rarely get it wrong. I’ve read that rangers have rubbished it but I can’t see any reports to verify this
Fingers crossed because I still think murts is the man to take us forward

06 Nov 2017 16:30:54
CHeck news now rangers for verification

06 Nov 2017 14:23:53
if McLaren is the best our new DOF can come up with, well for sure we don't need a DOF

We need a SAT NAV for him that only points South.

06 Nov 2017 15:33:40
Read beyond the headlines

06 Nov 2017 15:56:50
Super Slavan all the way. come on DK get the finger out!

06 Nov 2017 16:16:09
really need to stop judging people from what the papers say.

hopefully they know what they are doing and i do trust our board.

they have done everything they can for us but made a mistake by taking a chance on a young portuguese manager

06 Nov 2017 14:06:22
The plot thickens - if rodgers goes to west ham and we get mcinnes i think we might be able to win the league this season imo.

06 Nov 2017 14:29:34
I think so too.

If Celtic decided to hire Steve McClaren.

06 Nov 2017 14:36:14
😂😂😂😂😂🤣 the scary thing is that your serious! Keep dreaming son 🙈🙈

06 Nov 2017 14:44:21
moyes 1/ 20 for west ham. obviously all been agreed before bilic was given the boot. would love to see their faces if brenda left though mate!

06 Nov 2017 14:51:37
Brenda is going nowhere mate. He's sitting picking up honours and breaking records like naebodies business.

He won hee haw before he came up here, he will sit up here for at least 3 more seasons, he's earning 2.5m a year, job security, fans and media love him (sickening) .

Why would he take a job like West Ham and get the punt in 6 months time.

We need to maker sure we get the right man in this time, so crucial, this guy in completely unchallenged up here, absolutely embarrassing. He has been in charge of them for their 3 worst ever results in Europe, not won at home in 3 years in Europe, but their fans refuse to believe it's because the competition is so poor? It's there for all to see.

06 Nov 2017 15:18:33
Why would Rodgers go to West Ham.? He's flying up here he won't go anywhere until he starts failing in Scotland. Anyway our concern is getting the right man in place to beat him. And it'll be all the sweeter while he's still the golden boy.

06 Nov 2017 15:32:18
What is wrong with you. Rodgers will be at Celtic for another couple of years yet. wishful thinking mate why would he leave. he's at a club he loves and had full backing from his board. I think he will be here to try and get them the magic 10 don't get me wrong I would love him to leave but that's because of how good a job he's doing but he won't.

06 Nov 2017 15:52:52
Bearmode91

The competition is so poor you lot can’t win three games in a row. HH

06 Nov 2017 16:17:39
teninarow - i'm not just talking about Rangers mate, i'm talking about all teams.

Just admit it, the standard is as bad as it's ever been and the reason you are so far ahead is purely down to our financial mismanagement. Proven by the utter humping you've been taking in Europe.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

06 Nov 2017 16:18:27
to be fair any job that comes up down south has me wishing that wee prick would leave

06 Nov 2017 19:07:42
Bearmode, yes there have been the odd humping in Europe as there is now 6-7 superteams spending 100s of millions as even teams like Ayax, Porto, Anderlecht, Benfica, Feyenord etc can't get near just like us.
But the teams I mention all have great traditions in Europe and are on the same boat as us, and all take the odd humping but we certainly can compete with these teams, something you can only dream about.
It seems the only pleasure u get is watching Celtic lose in Europe, maybe it is all about the Celtic.

07 Nov 2017 02:15:58
Rayman. The irony of a Celtic fan using the money argument 🤦🏻‍♂️

I give up.

07 Nov 2017 15:03:25
Bearmode you are totally WRONG with the money issue, we HAVE to compete to get the money we earn they DONT, that's the difference.
They are simply given it no matter what the results are.

06 Nov 2017 12:59:57
I can't believe the board are going to take another gamble if the rumours about mcClaren are true. if he gets the job and fails I want this board out. we need a gaffer who knows this league and know rangers. I'm just stunned if we don't go for mcinnes. my God even Walter said that's who we should get. it's bloody obvious who we should go for. is this a case of the board saying we will do it out way. honestly if the next manager fails I want the board to get sacked. I will give mcClaren a chance if he's appointed but as i said if he fails my anger will turn to the board.

06 Nov 2017 13:48:02
honest to god i will stop watching us if we appoint a #neverwas like him.

they guy is not a winner and i think derek is a winner and that ghe will make a name for himself at our great club.

if we are to be going for derek then i'd like to get this one over the line as soon as possible

06 Nov 2017 14:41:16
Just had a look at McLaren's recent record in management on Wiki.

"In May 2015, McClaren was SACKED by Derby. On 10 June 2015, McClaren was appointed as head coach of Newcastle United on a three-year deal, and was SACKED on 11 March 2016. He returned to Derby on 12 October 2016 before being SACKED for a second time by the club 5 months later on 12 March 2017."

Anybody out there impressed by this?

06 Nov 2017 16:19:51
i honestly don't think anyone at any club want mclaren. good coaching history but terrible manager

06 Nov 2017 19:08:38
Well you have SACKED 2 in last 7 months so maybe he destined for u lol.

06 Nov 2017 12:05:22
Steve McClaren what a joke done nothing had plenty opportunities, we need s good scottish coach this will be another disaster . This board doesn’t have s clue this Ma Allen seems to be same, waste of time n money

06 Nov 2017 13:50:10
boab honestly if the rumours are true which it doesn't look as if they are i would be with u on this one but i will not call for their heads as yet as this seems to be all agent talk trying to get their guys names back in the spotlight

06 Nov 2017 10:44:00
Listening to toksport just now and Jim White saying Moyes could be taking the West Ham job this afternoon. - Job is until the end of the season - Not a lot of Wham callers sounding to happy with this news

06 Nov 2017 13:51:02
thats because he like mclaren is a total dud and can make a team better

06 Nov 2017 16:20:26
cant*

06 Nov 2017 09:20:54
I personally feel Rangers should appoint our next manager on a rolling contract basis while transfers should be handled by Mark Allan.

We can't afford any Warburton/ Pedro mess up's.

Im not convinced on Derek yet.

And feel the Pardew's, Maclaren's a and Poyet's can bring a caliber of player due to experience and contacts were i think Del will fail.

06 Nov 2017 10:17:40
Definitely I want us signing top players not players from the sheep. I'd bring young oliver mcburnie in for a start good player and would jump at the chance. I'd hate to see our big signings being shay logan and niall mcginn

06 Nov 2017 10:36:26
I'm inclined to agree Forza. I would love McInnes in in the future and for the long term but believe we need someone to attract a couple of game changers then bring him in.

06 Nov 2017 11:53:32
Gary oli is a great shout cracking young player, not sure if the club he was supposed to go on loan with will still have deal in place if not i'd jump on it

06 Nov 2017 12:20:49
If we don't go for mcleish or mcinnes then i'm sorry but the board are to blame, I don't like mark allen he seems like he knows nothing.

06 Nov 2017 12:31:04
Fod i'd agree on some points but he was a big shot for man city, maybe he just hasn't got his head around scottish football or we don't have a rich prince and a camel for income

06 Nov 2017 13:54:58
young people have no idea what it takes do they?

honestly i don't want to sign players from the league i want to win! its a joke honestly look back at our great club and yes while we have had a good foreign side to our team the ones that make it tic and do the donkey work are the spl players that we sign from the likes of the sheep and hibs and motherwell

rangers and celtic have done it for decades we cherry pick the best in our league which helps us weaken the rest opf the teams and strengthen our own.

then we add one or two real quality players like celtic have done and bobs yur auntie we have a team that can challange.

07 Nov 2017 02:01:15
Who has mentioned shay logan and niall mcginn as signings? Mcinnes is the only man for job, I'm telling you.

07 Nov 2017 02:10:03
I wouldn't want Poyet in our club! not a good candidate in my opinion

06 Nov 2017 09:03:45
Guys why not give murty a chance? he seems to get the best out the players they all work for him. Give him until end of season if we finish second give him the job
He managed to get a draw with Celtic 1st time round now 2 games won in a row and I'm positive it will be 3 if he's still in charge for next game 1st time in over 7 months if he does.

So taking that into account let's give murty a chance
Someone else said McInnes at Aberdeen when we were out the league for a few seasons couldn't get near Celtic so why go for him? He's not going to get much more money than he gets at Aberdeen so why waste more money trying to get him in?

Come on guys, let's get behind murty until at least end of season this guy deserves it for standing in and doing so far a fine job for our club and he knows the players club inside out. Please some positive feed back on my post.

06 Nov 2017 09:40:50
I would tend to agree with you Thestigno1. Only thing is, everything is rosie in the garden when we are winning, we have beaten a poor Hearts side and beat Partick 3-0 at home, even Warburton managed home wins over Partick, they are a test away from home, but they rarely do anything of note at Ibrox.

I love Big Murty, don't get me wrong, but he's a development coach, we need an experienced manager that can change things when things get tough.

Could you imagine the scenes if Murty got the job and we went on a bad run of games? The same people calling for Murty would turn against the board straight away for not bringing a manager in. Sorry mate not for me.

06 Nov 2017 12:28:55
I think the board are all going in different directions, and mark allen looks to me as if he underestimates scottish football, linking us with mcclaran and all the desperados of english football. We ain't getting a decent manager in anytime soon.

06 Nov 2017 14:01:53
dm will make a name for himself at ibrox given the chance i beleiev that he is the man for the job and even if he can't get us to the top withing the next season and a half then i think the least he willl do it get us much closer to the manky mob

06 Nov 2017 08:30:50
Hi there fellow bears . i said I wouldn't post on here again following the appointment of pedro but after hearing that Steve Mclaren was maybe being considered for the job I had to post, I believe if he gets the post it's another step in the wrong direction yet again by a bunch of no hopers who call themselves the board of Glasgow Rangers . Dave King and his cohorts should sell there shares and leave the jobs clearly too much for them, anyway rant over again and remember fellow bears it's just my opinion no need to get up in arms about it lol.

06 Nov 2017 09:17:28
Mclarens past track record does not instill any confidence to take us forward, and he will probably demand a salary well in excess of anything that McInnes would get offered if he was to become Rangers manager but presently it looks that we are not prepared to pay Aberdeen the compensation amount.
Hopefully the board will learn from past mistakes yes Pedro Caixinha.
Why don't we continue with Murty till the January transfer window and then reasses the managerial vacancy.
Only my thoughts but we don't want to make the wrong appointment.

06 Nov 2017 08:27:39
After the international break we play Hamilton, Dundee and then Aberdeen home and away. We should be looking at 10 points out of 12 for these 4 games which should put us 2nd in the league. Hibs away in December is another big game. Hopefully a confirmed new manager in by next week. Onwards and upwards Bears!

07 Nov 2017 02:02:19
Unacceptable, 12 out of 12 is my standards easy, is this how far we have fallen where I assume you see 1 point at pittodrie acceptable.

07 Nov 2017 02:08:42
Can I ask why you think we should be aiming for 10 points rather than 12?

06 Nov 2017 08:13:45
Anyone know if Dorrans will be back after the International break?

06 Nov 2017 07:38:02
Bowman and Moult worth a punt in Jan window? Discuss?

06 Nov 2017 08:04:08
Moult yes, for no more than £400k and Bowman No way, carthorse.
