I was certain David Murray would not be appointed whilst King was at the club but he has apparently made money available, time will tell what is going on but he is definitely sniffing about. If he comes back, king will have to go.

06 May 2018 22:51:41
Spoke to DK's nephew today and he says that he was trying to double the investment on the fruit machi.

07 May 2018 08:25:29
What? šŸ˜

07 May 2018 09:37:59
whit Big W? . another bored eastender I think

06 May 2018 22:12:30
A lot of media posts about Solanke being a target. Any of you seen him play? (not on youtube) I watch a lot of footie and can't say I have.

06 May 2018 22:52:56
I read somewhere that Liverpool fans want him to come to Rangers on loan - not sure if they want him to have experience or they are just trying to hunt him though lol

06 May 2018 23:11:48
I think people just see Liverpool and Chelsea on his CV and assume he has pedigree I mean why not take him on loan and see how he performs pre season I also like Rhiann Brewster

07 May 2018 00:42:15
Solanke has made 19 appearances for Liverpool and scored zero goals.

07 May 2018 00:57:38
TBH David Murray got more pedigree as possible chairman than that **** King and would have club at heart. All King wants is Profile.

07 May 2018 06:45:44
Well what's wrong with that MBW? To get profile he will need a strong Rangers winning trophys.

07 May 2018 08:25:52
Murray would have the club at heart? Aye right didnā€™t have the club at Heart when he sold us down the river to Whyte despite being told not too

07 May 2018 09:38:25
score quite a few pre season. usually gets 10 mins or so at the end of the game

06 May 2018 22:05:30
How would everyone feel if it were mike Ashley coming to invest proper money into the club and get into the champions league like he's always wanted with Newcastle
Not sure what is happening with him and Newcastle not a rumour just wandering if it were him could we put the past behind us as long as he was here to invest and do right but he club fans etc?

06 May 2018 23:27:04
No. i'd rather lick sh*t off a pair of green and white gazelles than have him anywhere near our club!

06 May 2018 23:33:19
Really sick of hearing that guys name tbh. No he would not be accepted. He has no interest in getting to the Champions League. He is a corporate psychopath who should not be allowed near football. Please speak to a Newcastle fan. Fortunately for us it would make no financial sense to him and he has no interest in prestige.

06 May 2018 23:33:25
Commonsense. Commonsense.

07 May 2018 00:57:33
Big Marvs going ti be one angry guy soon

06 May 2018 20:50:31
Really looking forward to seeing how our new manager steven gerrard manages jordan rossiter! IF we can get this young midfielder fit, then we most definitely have a cracking player on our hands! This young man staying fit is the best midfielder at ibrox! Rossiter himself will be delighted gerrard is now the rangers manager! At times rossiter throughout his very short career to date, was constantly being called the 'new gerrard', no pressure eh? Rossiter should just concentrate in staying fit and being himself! If he does then rangers have got a terrific young midfielder at our club! Imagine rossiter (if fit),
ross mccrorie as 2 mainstays, in our new look midfield, under the guidance of gerrard!
Mouthwatering IMHO!

06 May 2018 22:40:25
Jordan Rossiter has not played enough games for us to merit such a statement as being the best midfielder at Ibrox.

IMO Greg Docherty had been terrific for a poor Hamilton side before his move in Jan. He's had a couple of good performances but of late, like a lot of our team, he's been poor. Hope that under GĆ©rrard he'll develop and could very well the player we build our team around, along with McCrorie.

06 May 2018 23:14:33
I'm not talking about the games rossiter has played for rangers! I'm talking about the games i've actually seen rossiter playing for the england unders! With the ability he's got he's the most talented midfielder at ibrox IMHO, simple as that mate!

06 May 2018 23:28:34
Rossiter is made of glass and will always break. Shame but true

07 May 2018 08:52:45
I'm sorry supercooper but if you think Rossiter and Mccrorie in a midfield is mouth watering then that is terrifying both ok players but nowhere near good enough to be challenging for titles this is everything that's wrong with us people hype up Mccrorie who is a good player but the way fans go on about him is ridiculous in 2 old firm games he was exposed as very ordinary at best and yes he was playing defense instead of midfield but he wouldn't get near Celtics midfield our midfield lacks real creative quality and I'm sorry but Rossiter and Mccrorie ate no more than squad players if we ever want to win title

06 May 2018 20:45:02
Hereā€™s a thought, how about all yous that leave Ibrox early, try and stay until the end of every home game next season and support the players coming off the pitch at the end too, including the management.

Traffic is always busy, so is the subway, just chill out take your time, get the phone in on and be a bear for 90minutes, and account for the hassle of just being stuck for a bit.

Fed up seeing the stands empty and about 10/ 15k in at the end, itā€™s shameful.

Even at early kick offs itā€™s the same, so the argument about trains and connections doesnā€™t add up.

Looks ridiculous. Weā€™re better than that.

06 May 2018 21:17:39
Agree mate. youā€™ll get the we pay our money. we do what we like brigade but I For the life of me donā€™t get why people would leave 15 minutes before the end with the game 0-0

06 May 2018 21:46:47
Some people have 4 or 5 hour drives ahead of them. Not everyone who supports the club actually live on it's doorstep.

06 May 2018 23:14:22
Why drive 4 or 5 hours if you can't stay and watch 90 mi it's a of football

06 May 2018 23:38:45
Surely going to the game you don't base it on being a 70 minute match? Boy infront of me leaves on 70 minutes every week without fail no matter what time KO is. This includes the game against celtic when we were 3-2 in march and games 8 or 9 years ago when we were decent and winning titles. I don't get why youd pay Ā£500 a season then bus/ fuel etc every second week to leave when a game is close with loads of time left. I could maybe understand if we're 3 up or 3 down and you've got plans but come on.

06 May 2018 23:43:27
I travel too and thatā€™s the point, Iā€™m sure there is others that live close that do it. All that effort to get away 15 mins early pointless.

Our stadium needs to be full, intimidating and a fortress for 90 minutes.

I get the fact itā€™s been poor in the pitch of late, but I make a point of staying too either celebrate or let them know that we deserve better.

07 May 2018 00:23:40
i leave early because iv got subway then train then ferry so away an gee us peace

07 May 2018 00:31:50
And if you drive 4 or 5 hours surely you should be supporting your local club

07 May 2018 09:41:54
why should you be supporting your local club instead of Rangers?
are you supposed to just support the team closest to where you live every time you move?

07 May 2018 12:00:10
I have to travel to games, a 3.5hr drive each way. 2 things. I don't get up anywhere as much as I would like due to the expense but when I do drive up I still stay to the very end, try and get a few autographs for my son.

And I for one wouldn't entertain my local club. Gers are in my blood like it is for thousands of others.

07 May 2018 14:01:42
blueger69, I'm with you, I've been a gers fan since a small boy ( son of a scotsman) and its a long drive from the midlands but I would never leave my seat before the final whistle. Traffic is always bad but you can waste time around the stadium or in the shop for a while afterwards and then join the queues, its all part of the weekend following the best team in the world!

06 May 2018 19:21:47
Murray not a chance with king. papers full of it only good for doo pens . most likely American investors

06 May 2018 19:01:22
Stephen Kelly, 18, three weeks ago scores again against Burnley.

06 May 2018 20:17:03
Get him in the team! If Ross McCrorie has shown us anything itā€™s that the young fellas can hold their own given an opportunity, really hope Gerrard develops the young talent who have been superb on their matches programme this season!

06 May 2018 20:48:57
Was reading the interview gerrard gave to the Sunday papers. He comes across really well doesn't sound like a rookie manager. I had my doubts about his inexperience but got a better feeling now. There will be hiccups along the way but really hope the fans stay with him.

06 May 2018 17:40:29
here's a poll idea for a laugh
do we need a new ed who is an out and out rangers supporter or ed who is a liverpool supporter? over to you ed .

{Ed033's Note - It's difficult to magic up a Rangers Ed volunteer from somewhere.

06 May 2018 18:11:05
I would like to nominate Union Jack

06 May 2018 18:18:30
Supercooper fur mešŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§

06 May 2018 18:44:12
To be our ed. though you'd have to be really gloomy and not see a glimmmer of hope anywhere yes Supercoop will do jk jk.

06 May 2018 18:56:49
Timalloy the most avid follower šŸ˜

06 May 2018 18:59:14
Daily polls galore

06 May 2018 19:53:29
Supercooper is a Celtic man

06 May 2018 20:02:54
You would never ever get a decision from SUPERCOOPER. Unfortunately he waits for multiple posts with various opinions before he throws his weight behind that which he thinks will make him the most popular with the masses.
MY opinion

06 May 2018 17:27:52
Seriously think we are all in for a bit of disappointment don't think we are going to get investment just thinks it all bull crap rumours but hope I'm wrong cause we need it big time.

06 May 2018 17:56:53
Don't think King would put himself into a press firing line to answer awkward questions so hopefully it's good news. Anyone know what time the press conference is at?

06 May 2018 17:24:37
Cant wait until Monday when we hear the king speech.
Hope its not going to disappoint.

06 May 2018 18:03:05
I think its going to be about a share issue

06 May 2018 17:15:44
Evening bears, what a day weather wise and Iā€™m just letting a tumultuous week sink in. I was edging towards Steve Clark until the story broke regarding Stevie Gerrard but as the week went on the idea grew on me and the subsequent press conference on Friday confirmed to me that this is the man to take us forward. Massive pat on the back to Mark Allen and the board for getting it done, I feel the bare minimum we can expect from SG is a team that wears its heart on their sleeve and puts in a shift week in week out along side a sprinkling of quality loans or short term bosmansthat are mainly here due to his appointment. Time will tell regarding his coaching credentials and tactical nouse however as I said, Iā€™m happy with the minimum he will bring. Iā€™d just like to gauge what our expectations are of the man, i feel the time is now to invest our time, money and unwavering support in the man and although there may be bumps in the road we will need to stand firm and together as this will not be a quick fix but there are so many, as seen over the last week, that want SG to fail up here.

Iā€™d say a fair crack at Europa qualifying unless we come up against a seasoned qualifier en route followed by 2 good cup runs and a points tally above 80 for season 1

06 May 2018 21:04:31
Bare minimum is finishing a close second to Celtic and 2 good cup runs and maybe a couple of old firm wins. That would be progress on this season and then we can push on from there the following season and win the league

06 May 2018 16:22:51
Guys, let's wait until tomorrow so we can hear what the investment news is, no point speculating about paper talk, or if your the cousins of someone's boyfriends best friends auntie who is in the know! No one knows except those who are involved and they're hardly going to broadcast it before it's confirmed.

06 May 2018 16:11:34
Hi guys, first timer here so be gentle lol. With the new manager in place and the talk of new investment is it just me or is everyone getting excited? Just hope we don't come down with a bang. Not a rumour I know but just wanted to get my first post out the way.

06 May 2018 15:50:09
Ed could you do a poll on which players that are on loan will be signed permanently.
I think the only one that has a chance is Murphy

{Ed002's Note - Done.}

06 May 2018 17:14:56
Don't know what it is about some folk and Murphy he's rotten

06 May 2018 15:14:51
Hopefully SG already looking at better CH than Alves means he's first out door and sets precedent.

06 May 2018 15:35:42
Yes I think Alves will be off at end of season but it might cost us a pay off useless he has a good world cup

06 May 2018 15:47:37
Canā€™t see us being in a position to pay Alves off. Could be talking a Ā£1m pounds to pay up god final year

06 May 2018 14:04:39
Not posted for a while as sitting back watching the last 2 weeks unfold.
Glad to see we have set a bar in getting Steve on board and promising funds and wages to compete.
Don't see all the fuss about Bates leaving good back to the wall defender but never a footballer or first team. That's why Gerrard has stated he wants 2 Centre halfs also this means we won't be signing Martin (which I believe he has been told just look at him yesterday at fulltime)
Things are looking up already and that's just central defence being looked at

06 May 2018 13:44:24
The challenge facing Gerrard and Allen will be offloading players who were paid too high a price. We didn't give new contracts to Wilson and Bates who wanted around 7K a week and papers state crazy wages for a few of Pedro's less than inspired signings. Who will buy them at anything close to what we paid and who will come remotely close to matching their wages? We could be stuck with them for years.

06 May 2018 15:42:34
Kfraser, Wilson didn't request a pay increase, he stated he would play for the same wage.

06 May 2018 18:32:12
If we want to win league we need much better than Wilson and bates. Why pay wages to guys who won't be in frame

06 May 2018 13:38:14
A lot of talk Dominic Solanke is Gerrards number1 target a years loan a top class striker and that type of quality we need at club! Absolutely delighted if that goes through and a sign that the club is moving in the right direction šŸ‘šŸ¼.

06 May 2018 14:58:41
JGG1, What makes Dominic Solanke a top class striker? Do you know how many goals he's scored for Liverpool?

06 May 2018 15:27:38
Nope but I watched him in the under 20 World Cup which England won which he was the top goalscorer and voted player of the tournament! LOoked a very talented striker quick and powerful what do you suggest we go with Kenny Miller again?

06 May 2018 15:49:30
JGG1, Solanke has made 19 appearances for Liverpool with zero goals. can't get excited about that mate. Having said that i'm sure Stevie Gerrard has identified a good few players. Interesting times ahead.

06 May 2018 15:58:38
Goalie I'm also sure most of them will have been a few mins off bench here n there how many games has he started

06 May 2018 12:39:08
Steven naismith all is forgiven u have made my day.

06 May 2018 13:03:40
Before anybody gets offended I would say the same on any player who studs broon in the balls then puts him on his arse ten mins later.

06 May 2018 11:14:45
I hope Gerrard sticks with McCrorie, Murphy, Dorrans, Jack and Morelos at least, plus maybe Tavernier and Docherty. However, another clear-out is coming and hopefully three or four big signings coming in. We only need to finish 2nd or 3rd to get into Europe (4th if Motherwell don't win the Scottish Cup) . Celtic may yet finish only single figures ahead of us so surely that is a big improvement from last season and after having three managers!

06 May 2018 11:32:58
Totally agree Doiger great post maybe with candeas and I think after the last free games keeper Alwick deserves a crack

06 May 2018 11:58:46
Doig, we have to get rid of Morelos as he is a liability nearly being sent of every game he plays, plus the flash in the pan goal scoring when he came to us originally has ended.

06 May 2018 12:02:36
I think McCrorie, Jack an Moreles have a chance but we will never compete with Celtic If Dorrans, Docherty and Murphy are the standard we aspire to. These guys are not winners with no leadership and showed this in the recent Celtic games. Dorrans in particular has been the most disappointing ( only second to Windass) .

06 May 2018 12:12:03
Have you noticed he stopped scoring when Miller got injured and no longer played alongside him

06 May 2018 12:25:35
I really donā€™t rate Jack heā€™s a complete liability, Docherty and McCrorie are the future and derserve to keep there place, I just hope they have some more experience next to the to help left some of the pressure

06 May 2018 13:09:08
I would sell Morelos, goals have dried up, appears to have an attitude which could result in red cards. Should have took that 11 million for him. LOL.

06 May 2018 13:15:53
So you'd bin Declan John?

06 May 2018 15:30:57
Jacks a liability aye right jack was the best player we had before he got injured aye he got a few reds but most were turned over Ryan jack will be future rangers captain

06 May 2018 15:50:09
Jack is only average and not the sort of player if we are to challenge Celtic. Dorrans has been very poor and Murphy has been awful against Celtic. Canā€™t see him being signed

06 May 2018 16:18:29
hi fellow bears lots of comments on here about who should stay and who is coming in who should go i honestly don't know but we cannot keep players because:- if the play alongside so in so or such n such they might improve or help their game? if they are not good enough offski! simple as that really and that has been said by SG himself!
SG'S WAY OR THE HIGHWAY! rant over

07 May 2018 07:31:42
Got to have a bit of continuity tho mate signing too many is never a good idea if we can add 5 maybe 6 of a good quality to supplement the squad we won't be far away. 2 ch 2cm a rw and a 25-30 a season striker would be my priority. sure the new boss will have names in mind

06 May 2018 10:54:31
Let's clear this up . TJ by your initial post it seemed you meant the team have Gerrard on there shirts . thus the reply from Ritchie
I was even going to reply some people should get numpty but I see what you mean now and if it's merchandising and we make a shilling then bring it on

06 May 2018 10:49:42
Right we have Neil Doncaster planning on using Gerard signing to help fund the rest of Scottish football on a tv deal. This sounds familiar. The same people who helped put us down the league's . In doing so rangers football club filled the bank accounts of every chairman in league 1 to 3. So again we are getting used by the very organisation who hate us and take orders from Mr Liewell. Don't know if possible but we should set up own tv deal and screw the rest of them.

06 May 2018 11:16:09
CF I totally understand where you are coming from bud but I think we should all move on from this now. For me its all about improving us and the best way to get it right up everybody else will be becoming champions again.

06 May 2018 11:53:44
so doncaster thinks a league with stevie g at rangers is worth twice what a league with just rodger rabbit at celtic. got to hurt the mankie mob when even their mouth piece at the top recognises where the draw of the worlds eyes are at. lol.

06 May 2018 12:15:02
At the end of the day, only the rangers board and creditors where responsible for letting us go down the leagues.

06 May 2018 12:48:27
Marco, the creditors lost out on money that was owed to them when the company was liquidated. Lots of small businesses were included in that. The financial problems at Rangers were not their fault.

06 May 2018 13:18:47
Totally agree with the fact that the club itself brought it all on ourselves but the likes of Doncaster and Liewell couldn't wait to put the boot in.

06 May 2018 10:08:55
Thoughts with Sir Alex Ferguson and his family. Hope you are ok boss.

06 May 2018 10:51:51
Just to reiterate your post Game Of Thrones, i hope and pray the greatest british manager ever, sir alex ferguson pulls through and wins this fight! Thoughts and prayers to sir alex and all the ferguson family! GOD BLESS!

06 May 2018 10:01:56
Can I first congratulate Murty4me for his "I don't want Murray near the club again" comment. Clue is in the name.

Review Of The Day 6th May 2018

06 May 2018 06:30:00
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 6th May 2018

06 May 2018 00:56:58
I've got to say this is brilliant . the mankies have just won three or four in a row ( you cannot really count the ones that we were not there can you šŸ˜†) and all the talk is about the rangers . they are ragin . their silence is deafening. you would think we had won the league. all over the U. K. They are talkin about us . Even heard the rat Sutton saying rangers are a massive massive club . an institution. before quickly correcting himself by adding . celtic too . ha it's brilliant . master stroke from our board.

06 May 2018 06:44:25
Do your talking on the pitch!

06 May 2018 07:50:32
We will downunderbhoy

06 May 2018 08:29:19
Agree Mols As King says its only 3 in a row. The other 4 don't count. I was at game yesterday and with the exception of Bates and Alnwick the rest of the team were awful. I was expecting a reaction from the players and it never came. The weight of the jersey is too much for this group of players. Mass cull required. Gerard will need almost a new team as he has been left very little he could work with.

06 May 2018 08:52:04
It was a truly awful performance yesterday and it looked like none of the players want to be part of the club next season. I really do worry about our last 2 games and canā€™t see us getting much from either

06 May 2018 09:28:41
If they want to go then go. I'm not fussed who stays to be honest. I'm more than happy for Gerrard to swing the axe.

06 May 2018 10:38:53
Bit harsh boys . mcorrie came on and played brill . in the position we have all been screening fir him to pay since we humped the sheep twice when he was there. Morelos won a lot of balls he shouldn't have the restvwere up and down. halliday ( god lov him) would win the ball give it away win it back and give it away again . holt . Cummings ( he said he was no well . watching this team is making us all no wellvatvtines ) we're very poor . Think they try to hard at times and when it didn't happen and the crowd get on their backs it's a downward spiral .
Fighting for second with an underperforming team can't be that bad . keep the faith

06 May 2018 13:26:59
Stevie c. They are now saying Rory Mclrory has won no majors as tiger woods was not playing.

06 May 2018 00:07:14
Hi there new celtic fan poster coming in peace.

Congratulations on new manager Steven Gerrard. Genuinely one of my favourite players of all time.

I think he will do well for yous but unless major investment happens think it will be a while before yous are challenging for league. There is no doubting his leadership qualities, the main force behind Liverpool winning European cup against AC Milan. Also when playing under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, the famous "we don't slip" comment. Fair enough it never went to plan, but hearing that captain speech just shows you the type of guy he is. A leader

I miss the days of growing up in the 90s where an Old Firm was 90minutes packed full of action, great football hopefully we all see this soon.

{Ed0333's Note - not sure he was the main force behind Liverpool winning the champions league versus Milan. One of forces but not the main one.

06 May 2018 01:13:59
Opt . you saw it last game at ibrox where apart from some very naive managerial decisions you would have been humped . two games ago but hey the gap is still immense so they say

06 May 2018 01:34:03
True ed033. i have a massive soft spot for liverpool as well as celtic. It was that game though i just thought he played a blinder. Honestly one of the best games i have ever seen. The whole team just made the best out of a bad situation and destroyed milan. There is something about Liverpool training. The ability to develop world class strikers for a start. Fowler, Torres, Suarez to name a few. Klopp is going to do it in final

{Ed0333's Note - I really hope we win number 6 mate.

06 May 2018 09:44:03
Opt welcome. Hopefully with Gerrard we will compete more next season. We have made various mistakes over last few years but I feel now we have turned a corner with SG. He won't allow passengers and some real pathetic performances.

06 May 2018 10:33:05
Milan capitulating might have had a slight impact on the game too.

05 May 2018 22:42:10
NOT RANGERS RELATED

all the very best to sir alex ferguson

Get well soon.

06 May 2018 00:50:01
Absolute Legend I'm Not Religious but I am praying tonight my thoughts and prayers are with his immediate Family.

05 May 2018 22:30:30
sad to hear the news about ex ranger sir alex fergusons brain hemorage hope and pray for a speedy recovery.

06 May 2018 01:29:23
Hope sir Alex pulls through, Ws Gers centre forward in 60s when I started following them till replaced by Colin stein, never a great player but a GREAT manager g. w. s

05 May 2018 22:13:56
I've been looking at how much we could possibly get by selling our players so we can invest in the squad

Foderingham 3-5m
Tavernier 2-4m
Morelos 5-6m
Cardosso 500k-1m
Windass 3-5m
ohalloran 500k-750k
holt - 500k-750k
dodoo 500k-1m

pena / Herrera cut loss take anything for them

Realistic pricing? . Could we get more or am I over shooting the run way?

06 May 2018 06:46:58
Over shooting the run way, you've landed doon here in Oz mate!

06 May 2018 07:56:28
We'd be doing well bringing in 10-12 million for all of them and there's 4 1st team players there. We do need a clear out but i'm hoping we keep some of our 1st team for continuity and they can be used as squad players. Its the squad players that add nothing to our team that i want rid of

I think your being over optimistic of you think we can get those amounts for these players. We would be doing extremely well to get 1/ 2 of that

Probaly get a combined fee of round about the 13 to 14 million for these players.
if we are lucky we mite hit the jackpot with a couple of them

I know my timing is not always the best, but apart from my ongoing mental and to a point my physical health difficulties I follow and love Rangers. Maybe one game in the future I'll go to without the need of ear defenders.
