As we venture into a new dawn for Rangers, can I just offer my heartfelt gratitude to Sir David Murray for a fantastic 23 years. I feel that there are too many young supporters that are all too happy to jump on the bandwagon in calling for his head. My first season at Ibrox I remember drawing 0-0 with Clydebank and having a party when we finished fifth! ! Although he wasn't responsible for Souness, he was responsible for Mo Johnstone, Mark Hateley, Laudrup, Gazza, DeBoer bros, Numan, VanBronkhorst, Albertz, the list is endless and more important he appointed Walter Smith! ! In this new age lets please just remember where we came from, in my mind the good times far, far exceed the bad times and even in the financial mess we have been in the last few years we've still won the league.

Thank you Sir David, Welcome Mr. Whyte you have my full support

Agree with you totally bud. Sir David Murry gave all gers supporters magic memory's. Let us all get right behind our team tomorrow WATP In Walter We Trust.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 May 2011 19:29:40
The takeover is now complete, thank god, but can I just say that this will no doubt be the start of the nonsense on here as Rangers will now be apparently signing every player in the world! !

Let the dust settle allow Mr Whyte to meet Mr McCoist and then at the start of the transfer window lets see who Rangers are in for and what capital is available.

For all I've said above i'll still be on here every day reading what rumours are being told. Love it!

3-in-a-row and now we've got dough! !

From the london stock exchange website:

Wavetower is pleased to announce that it has today acquired 92, 842, 388 ordinary
shares, representing approximately 85.3 per cent. of the issued share capital
in The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. (the "Club"), for a consideration of GBP1.
Wavetower acquired its interest in the Club (the "Acquisition") from Murray MHL
Limited.

The Acquisition would ordinarily have required Wavetower to make a general
offer in cash under Rule 9 of the Takeover Code to all other shareholders in
the Club but, as the consideration paid by Wavetower for the shares acquired is
GBP1, the Takeover Panel has granted Wavetower a dispensation from making such an
offer.

"Wavetower intends to post a circular to the Club's shareholders by 16 May 2011
containing background information on Wavetower and other relevant information.
Wavetower intends to maintain the Club's listing on PLUS Markets for a minimum
of 12 months from the date of this announcement.

Wavetower is 100% owned by Liberty Capital, a company which is ultimately owned
by Craig Whyte. Craig is a lifelong Rangers supporter and is very much looking
forward to guiding and assisting Rangers in its development over the coming
years."

If skysports have no news on a delay and bbc don't and rangers news don't then i think its safe to say we don't no , the market ma be shut but the deal could have aready been done and it could just not have been announced yet , so stop posting delays

Apparently Whyte has agreed to put £10 million working capital straight into Rangers account for the Summer, plus a further £25 million for future years although he accepts that McCoist may need some of that money this Summer. So he is keen to speak to McCoist to sort out a Summer budget.

With Nugent out of contract at Portsmouth why don't Rangers go for him.Really good player and would work well wit Jelavic.Bargains are to be made in the lower leagues in England look at Holt and Jackson at Norwich and Hooper at Celtic. Even maybe Kevin Phillips as we really need a in the box striker and he would score goals up here, perfect with Jela .
Hope we get Bartley back and Weiss

Iaquinta there no way we will pay 6 million for him he is 32 or 33. .Personally I would prefer the young lad mackel smith from league 1 i think it is or graham of watford for 2-3 million than goodwillie after watching him v celtic last weekend he didn't look like he was interested. . . anybody any views?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

The diffrence is rangers buy talent if your not willing to put more then 10 million in to players how can we xpect to buy talented players we have always had good players the thing with celtic thay buy 1 load of s**te becuse thay are s**te if you think celtic are s**te agree {Ed001's Note - why do you want to put down your rivals in that way? Because if they buy s**te, as you so eloquently put it, and you are struggling to beat them, doesn't that make you s**te as well? All you are doing is putting your own team down as well. Be gracious in victory or it will come back and bite you in defeat.}

All this talk of 40-50 million, get a grip bears. We need a couple of strong centre halves, a left sided full back and a couple of wingers. Bartley and weiss cud come back on loan, i like wallace of hearts for the left back and conway is available for free. The scouting system had delivered centre halves for years so trust in them to get us a decent one like they did with amaruso, boumsong , cueller, weir. Then lets get davis, mcgregor, whittaker on long term deals and we've got a decent squad with the youngsters coming thru. If laugh-erty goes, we should replace with goodwillie, other than that. lets not get ourselves in a financial mess straight away. It's a shame we missed out on commons cos he could have been good for us, him and kayal have practically carried the 'tic. Hopefully he'll regret it when we win the league, Bazbear

I think if we beat Hearts and United the league is ours can't see us dropping points against Kiliie. I can't see us throwing this away but you never know. Its Walters last season and it would be a great way to bow out could get emotional on his last game! ! Absolutely love them man.

To make this clear John Sutton is the sort of player we will need to sign if there is no takeover. My point is he is not the sort of standard I want to see at Rangers. Taking into account his overall contribution he is not the best goalscorer, I don't deem 10 SPL goals good enough for one of your two strikers.

Obviously we have a finance wizard from below, you don't need the stock exchange to be open , as long as you declare to them if a takeover is finalized who is in control, its between the club and the buyer the stock exchange only need to know for tax reasons, if you don't declare to them the club cannot have any building value as the assets get frozen. . don't say things just because you read them ! !

Only reason takeover is delayed is because whyte is making sure he doesn't getting gimped with a ridulous delay charge from the bank and also hes trying to negotiate a percentage of murrays final package, which tbh hes lucky hes getting anything.

Whyte is worth 954 million but he has alot of that locked up in shares and High Net Worth stakes with 9 other companies, if you read the report that rangers produce when it comes out hes going to invest 15 % of his net annual income into the club because he wants to develop the land around ibrox aswell, that's one of his other main incentives for buying Rangers, not bad thou , im an IFA so from a financial point of view Rangers could make ALOT of money within the next 5-10 years if Whyte plays his cards right, he is the perfect man to take over , believe me, Paul murray would only have finance for 2 or 3 seasons but then we would be back to square 1!
