Come on. The team is down but not out and the people that are going to lift them is the Gers loyal, not the boo boys. We must stand together and lift the lads otherwise how can we call ourselves true fans. Yes we can all pick out players who have f'd up but they won't regain the winning ways if we don't believe and support. The 12th is a massive night for us and if we can't lift the spirit from the terraces then what's the point of even turning up. Remember the braga game. 2 down and still singing. that's what can happen if you believe.

We missed our chance to start again when we crumbled to build a sustainable team of young hungry players by the time we got to the spl.
Instead we are spending out with our means instead of moulding and helping good young players I. e mccrorie. Docherty mebude. Gilmour. Instead of farming them out on loan or losing them completely. Gerrard should have been able to develop and mould docherty and McCrorie into fine midfielders. What player have we actually bought and then sold for any decent profit in the last 5 to 10 yes.

Utter nonsense. If that was the case the lower teams who rely on younger players coming through and the cast offs from the top teams would be successful. Its just not he case. Man utd were the only example in the last 3 decades that this could be possible. The youngsters are just not good enough. Both had plenty of chances let's just accept they are not good enough. I will admit we need some player in and the best we can afford - big, technical, hard hitting winners. let's give up this fine margin football and just smash teams with shear strength and power.

Blue Billy nobody is saying play a full team of kids. How can these youngsters ever get better if they aren't allowed to play and grow. That's why the national team and the whole of Scottish football is in this mess. Prime example john fleck the next Wayne Rooney 10 years ago let go by rangers with no first team opportunities and now look Sheffield United player of the year in the epl. Lewis Ferguson let go because he's too 'small'. We don't give lads a chance that's why they are scared to even go and beat a man. lack confidence. I would love nothing more than to go and knockout Leverkusen or at the very least give it a good bloody go.

Actually reflecting on what you say I agree with your 2nd post in particular. Young players need key development in senior football from the age of 15/ 16 if they don't get it then that stalls their development and they don't make it to full pro. Unfortunately the Scottish leagues are not the best environment for some youngsters to develop because of the physicality as you say because of size. don't mind who plays for Rangers as long as we are winning would love Haliday to be a Laudrup but we can't have it all.

Well that seems to be true, the likes of Tav and Goldson are not really concerned how they play because they know they will play in the following game (undropable) . It really does pain me to say as I like everyone else wanted Gerrard to succeed but he's turned out to be another Mccoist- fantastic footballer but not a great manager. Gerrard may indeed become a great manager but experimenting at Rangers and being unsuccessful is not a great start. We have nothing to loose now so please drop the undropables and play some hungry youngsters, I bet they can show some of those full time, over paid so called professionals!

Just seen gerrards press conference. Sometimes players need 'protection' no they need a reality check. They are living every rangers fan dream and getting paid handsomely for it. Always players need this players need that. No they need to get it out there and show a bit of passion. Ojo send him back just now he is taking up young persons spot on the bench.
Morelos sit on the bench until you grow up. Tavernier do the first decent thing you have done as captain and hand it over to someone who deserves it. Or better still Gerrard grow a set and take it off him. If tavernier is captain next year if think we just might need to do walking away.

All i'm stating is walking away ain't for me and never will be. I'll continue supporting my club because it will turn believe me, as that's what happens, ie. cycles etc. I always stated mate, that i'd give steven gerrard at least 3 years at this and that's what i'll do. I still think gerrard will get us where we'd all like rangers to be!

Positives-improved in Europe

Negatives. Domestic Performances and results recently been shocking, 95% of signings are woeful, hasn't a clue about tactics and won't give people a chance. Especially younger guys and he hasn't won anything.

Now that's facts not just my opinion.

So please can anyone give me a valid reason why he should stay?

I've just posted that I have been as fed up as the next guy with SG, but I reckon that with his history, experience and standing in the game, this could really be his "beginning" as a manager. This has been a real wake up for him and those around him, sometimes that's the best way to regroup and start afresh. We'll know by Sunday teatime I guess.

I think the issue here is poor signings. A more experienced manager would have put together a strong team with £20m at his disposal, a team suited to the Scottish game. Ejaria, Ojo, Barker, Jones, pollster, etc etc then we have the ageing players, defoe, Davis etc great players in their time but money would have been better spent on younger prospects with resale value rather than going all out for instant success which has backfired and not materialised. On reflection this has been a huge mistake and has put the club in a difficult position. Now one has to ask who is responsible for this.

I know our defence has kinda been the weakest part of our team lately but it has played it's part in being solid aswell where Connor Goldosn has been a big part of it!

Now I am not denying our defence has been leaking goals but don't you think this has been emphasized due to the fact that we have not scored much upfront? If we are not scoring goals then it only takes one goal to beat us and that is what has been happening of lately!

People on here saying drop Goldson for whom exactly? If we had more competition in those places then it would keep the def3nd2rs on their toes!

For me, Edmundson is a regular starter now then it is a toss between Goldson and Katic which for me a two different players

Katic lack of communication can let him down sometimes Goldson win that Dept. All day long

Katic aerial ability may well be better Playing the ball on the ground Goldson has the better ability

So we have a choice between the two and I know for a fact Edmundson plays better with Goldson

When we have Helander back my choice is him and Goldson then Edmundson and Katic have to fight for a place

On his day Katic all day long but he was that woeful two weeks back.

looking back at Wed night, the stats showed we had 31 shots on goal, Hamilton had 8. They scored 1 Why the feck did we NOT score? Because we have a huge attacking problem called lack of skill. by all means criticise Goldson for losing that goal, but for god's sake don't crucify him for losing us the match. The figures don't lie, 31 useless shots on goal, that is our BIGGEST problem, LIKE IT OT NOT!

Just a guess, but i would imagine that Steven Gerrard initially thought that he would come to Rangers, implement what he's experienced at the top of the English Premier League, win the SPFL and that would hopefully impress any English Premier League D.O.F. looking for a new Manager. Then get offered the Manager position and leave Rangers i.e. copy Brendan Rodgers.

But it's not that easy, so from Steven Gerrard's point of view, he has to try and win the SPFL next season.

And If i'm the Rangers Board, am i going to give him another season; all things considered, yes, i think so.

Everyone wants Gerrard to succeed at Rangers obviously, he's a likeable fella, he speaks well and has sold season tickets etc. Fact is he has failed to win a trophy over 2 years and that is a failure. Is it because he's Steven Gerrard that he deserves another year because if he was anyone else he would be finished at Rangers.

I think that says that they're prepared to give Gerrard more time than usual to a manager, probably because he might be able to attract some good players, might be able to get a decent player in because of his Liverpool connections, and the Board don't know who else they could get in who's decent to manage Rangers.

Totally agree Baz6 age should never be a barrier if you are good enough. Time to give a few of the young and fringe players a chance in the upcoming league games and i include Leon King in that. No harm in playing him from the bench. The majority of the first team have had their chance and blew it. Time to give other players a chance. Tav and Goldson must be first to be dropped but we will probably have to wait till we are out of Europe.

Totally agree - he'd be out on loan season after season with the arguments of "he's not Rangers class" - whatever that means now. Gerard should take a leaf out of Lampard's book - yes he was forced to play the youth, but they give 100% effort everytime and haven't been shown up in the EPL - if your good enough, your old enough, was that not the saying. Anyway, good luck to young Billy, he made the right decision.

in january there. Exactly what we need for our bread and butter games in scotland!
What's not to like here as big dykes is powerful, fast, superb in the air, two footed and can score goals! It would give us a completely different option when teams sit deep and try to contain and frustrate us.
In my thinking anyway dykes would improve even further at rangers, as nothing or no defender whatsoever, seems to faze him.

So we go from having the 2 best strikers in the country ( your words not mine) to a guy who has scored 9 goals this season. I have watched the lad and he can play but I don't see gerrard going for long punts up the park as I don't think our centre backs are even capable of punting long balls up the park.
