Just catching up with things, nice to see some decent Rangers fans posting their true feelings about the other nights game. I loved the result but the rest was a complete fiasco and embaressment to both clubs. Bigotry and sectarianism should have no part of modern society, granted I dish it out during the 90 mins, but it doesn't control my life.

Super Ally's revolution has begun. . Ness - new contract till 2015, Neil Murray installed as Chief Scout, John Brown installed as First Team Scout. All of this is effective as of the 2011/ 12 season.

What if the takeover happens and Whyte/ Ellis want their own man in place?

Baz the bear.r.e ur post about what happens on the park stays on the park.the vast majority of rangers supporters on this side of the irish sea woukd not agree with that comment.we live eat and sleep glasgow rangers. maybe its just our up bringing but that's the way it is.

What so you think its ok for peoples home lives and families to be affected? Remember its not just Neil Lennon this type of stuff happens to. Its unneccessary and completely over the top. Its gonna take someone getting murdered before we realise how crazy this is.

Quite right Baz mate, and it has caused mrders already, that's where the Nil By Mouth/ Bhoys Against Bigotry stuff started.

The guy who claims that neither side of the old firm has produced good young players for a long time. Alan Hutton, Danny Wilson, Jamie Ness to name just a couple of players who came through the Gers youth system. At Celtic James Forrest looks a good prospect but I'll leave the resident Celtic fans to give us some more examples of good young players.

He is probably the best young eligible player for scotland him or his team mate Andrew Driver.
To be honest neither side of the old firm have produced young players for a long time and he did say that he is a life long celtic fan of course he is going to say that.

Dont think so, he had a few decent performances early in season but hasnt even been in the Hearts team recently. He is a Celtic fan but theres no way he would come away with something like that so please stop talking pish! Driver could be a good player if he can get over the constant injury problems but until then Hearts is probably his level.

Why are rangers fans totally obsessed with every move or comment neil lennon makes?all their nonsense is a deflection on how poor they are when they go head to head in recent old firm games.instead of wondering what mr lennon said or applauding the clown el haj diouf why don't they ask why they only had 1 half hearted attempt at goal at parkhead on wednesday night, maybe the answers staring at them in the face!

Anyway, i agree we should be talking about football. 3 points in the bag today even if the performance was unspectacular but under the circumstances, a good victory. Thought Diouf played pretty well today and Davis looked a bit sharper, but Edu just won't do, played against better junior and amateur players.

Comment on eds note to myselr.el hajds tranfer to us. im actually startin to think the perss are funding his wages. what a boost for the scots press it was the day we signed hin. can you think of any other player that could have been brought to scotand and created such an uproar?.the scots media are loving it {Ed001's Note - you make a great point there, they must have been rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of him playing for Rangers.}

Baz (and Ed). Great idea. If it takes the police to do that then so be it. If the games can't go ahead, the clubs would soon take their heads out of the troubled trough and do what they should have done years ago. The authorities would also do more to help if they see that the clubs are finally serious about tackling sectariansm.

Maybe once decent people realise that the stadiums are no longer filled with bile and hatred, they would no longer be afraid to go to games. I'm sure that it would also have a knock on effect and stem the post match flow from the streets to the hospitals and prison cells.

As Ed pointed out, companies would be much more inclined to align themselves with our clubs if the hatred is diminished (and there's no doubt we could all use more finance).

Obviously sectarianism is not all down to the OF, but the wider problems would certainly be helped if the old battles are not re-enacted every time the teams meet.

Lets face it eds. the press love the rivalry between the old firm. its a bumper pay day if the s**t the have printed make resanable ppl kick off.they fair no well sales will increase if we all set about each other. i wud take a wild guess and say paper sales for certain newspapers in scotland rocketed last week {Ed001's Note - it is a shame that money is taking precedence over what is right really, but I think you have a good point there.}

Possibly Ed but Sky must have loved it the other night, lets be honest that's what the neutral fan expects of an Old Firm game, lots of action and controversy but if we could get all that without the racism and sectarianism it would be a great spectacle.

Baz the Bear {Ed001's Note - yeah but you can get both, there was plenty of controversy in the Liverpool-United game without the sectarianism.}

Agreed Ed, that might be the only solution but unlikely, everyone would lose to much money and money talks im afraid. Only way it might happen is if the police say they are not policing it anymore.

Baz the Bear {Ed001's Note - shame, it would be nice to clean up the game, would bring more sponsors in, which would increase revenues.}

Athiest, you and i both know that won't happen but at the same time, if you arrested every fan who was shouting dirty orange/ fenian b**tard, we would be playing in a half empty stadium.

Baz the Bear {Ed001's Note - wouldn't that be better than putting up with the sectarianism? After all, I guarantee that it would soon stop once fans realised it wouldn't be tolerated.}

GovenFR and Baz

my post at 13:00 was actually in response to the unnamed poster at 12:11 (I'm posting from my phone so not always the quickest). Anyway, my reply goes equally for you guys.

Thanks for recognising that I'm (usually) fair. I hope that's always the case. Feel free to pull me up if you think I've strayed!

And, yes, anyone who genuinely abuses someone for race or religion should be investigated. But I wonder how many of those who complained to the police also shopped their mates for their sectarian abuse?

To the guy who posted at 12:15.

Absolutely right. There are sc*m on both sides who will just not let things drop. This tit-for-tat nonsense of 'you lot did this' and 'aye, but your lot did that' is just pathetic!

Here we have people contacting the police to complain that their sensibilities have been offended by some alledged racial comment which they imagine was said. Lets be clear, the people doing the complaining consider themselves to be Rangers fans. They have gone to the police for one reason and one reason alone. . and it's nothing to do with El-Hadji Diouf's race. These are the same people who abuse others for coming from the other side of a border, or for following a different religion. They do this day in day out and every weekend! Lets be equally clear, there are Celtic 'fans' who are just as hypocritical!

If nothing else comes out of this, lets at least recognise that no-one (fans, clubs, football authorities and government) is doing enough to stamp out the sectarian filth and that we can ALL do so much more to end it!

Great points GovanFR, there are many players down the years who have had the type of abuse Neil Lennon is receiving, Novo had a shocking time while at Rangers as did Fernando Ricksen and even DaMarcus Beasley for some reason. When what happens on the park spills into peoples home lives it is totally unacceptable, regardless who you are. However, this does not exempt anyone from police investigation, no matter what the motives of the people making the complaints. It has long been rumoured that these remarks where made by both Lennon and Mjallby so i think its about time they where brought to task rather than things constantly being swept under the carpet!

Atheist, if it is true as I suspect that Neil Lennon was racially abusive to Diouf then it is completely right that he faces a probe from the police. Just because he is Celtic manager does not mean he is allowed to do whatever he wants just as the people threatening him should be brought to justice. You are taking a remarkably bias view point on this for a poster that can generally see both sides. Forget the threats for a moment if Lennon was racist he deserves punishment. Would you agree?

To the guy saying how low do Rangers fans go? Do not try to make out as though they are worse than Celtic fans, there are some sections of each support that are pathetic and as a Rangers fan I am happy to admit that whereas you clearly are not. Death threats are disgusting but Celtic fans have done it too. What about the posting of Nacho Novo's address on the internet and the Celtic fans that would wait at his home for him?

To atheist
it does say police are to investigate complaints about neil lennon's alledged abuse to diouf. it does not say anything about it being racial.
lennon's lawyer says claims are defamatory and outrageous with no substance whatsoever.
lennon is also getting late night theatening phone calls. how low do rangers fans go?

Strathclyde Police to investigate 'complaints' from 'concerned individuals' about Neil Lennon's alledged 'racial abuse' of El-Hadji Diouf. I'll bet you were grinning when you posted that!

I wonder. . . .what percentage of those who complained are Rangers 'fans'?

And, is it possible that these are the same people who abuse and threaten Neil Lennon and his family, simply because he's a Northern Irishman who supports, played for and now manages Celtic Football Club?

It's astonishing what some pathetic, ignorant, bigoted people will stoop to. And I'll bet they actually think they're supporting their club!
