Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

06 Jun 2020 22:42:19
Well so far we have made 3 signings, a 16 year old, a Romanian youngster who played for us last year and a backup to Borna Barisic. So effectively we ain't changed last years failed team at all. Struggling to see how that is going to topple Celtic. I sure hope we have the 4 or 5 top signings still to come.

06 Jun 2020 23:48:56
Do we really need 4 or 5 signings I'd say 2 or 3 quality signings max along with the team we had before Christmas even 2 quality signings would cost us 10 mil in fees and wages unless they're free agents and free agents are normally free agents for a reason.

07 Jun 2020 00:17:05
You are aware it's the start of June?

07 Jun 2020 06:12:38
I think business is good so far, cut Halliday and Flanagan and replaced with a young up and comer, Paterson hopefully step up to cover tav if the Clyne rumour does not come to anything, this is going to be an extended window anyway and a lot will wait til near the end.

07 Jun 2020 07:12:19
How many signings we need is all depending on how many leave. And for how much money.

07 Jun 2020 11:24:57
Way too early to be pressing any panic button.

07 Jun 2020 13:18:17
Docherty is more suited to the Scottish game than Kamara who should be sold. We need CB, s who can defend at a European level. Goldson and Kamara would bring in some money.

07 Jun 2020 13:23:04
Might I remind some folk that morelos was an unknown 21 year old when we got him, Derek Johnstone broke through at 16 Barry Ferguson was 18, Wayne Rooney broke through at 16, rino gattuson was 19, Robbie fowler 18, these guys were all winners, you can win with youth and unknowns you just have to get the balance right.

Some of them signed last season will need to get used to playing for us look at borna, hopefully aribo, Jones hastie even barker all show improvement.

07 Jun 2020 15:08:03
Get clyne in and give tavenier a run at right wing instead of hagi would make more sense.

07 Jun 2020 15:11:03
Some of the negativity on here is incredible. The only thing that unites us is a want for Rangers to win. Maybe my glass is too full but we have the majority right. A first choice striker, central midfielder, right back and centre half, and an ability to play two up front resorting to one when required, and I think we are there.

Ship some of the excess squad players out as has started, and promote the best of our youngsters and I’ll be delighted. Off the park, things look brilliant. Let’s try and be a more positive support. If the time from some on here is representative of our support, it’s easy to see why we have such a dysfunctional fan base.

Of course disagree and debate, but try and steer away from the constant (and it is from some), negativity and SG bashing. I certainly believe he’ll lead us to the title. I don’t care what the other lot do, they don’t interest me. Let’s stay united and return to where we belong. 55 is coming.

06 Jun 2020 21:44:23
Thank you for the level of support in my last post the majority of comments agreed with my way of thinking i'm just a passionate supporter like everyone else.

06 Jun 2020 18:58:31
Just after reading on the daily mail online there, that livingston have put a £2million fee on the head of their striker lyndon dykes. The report also stated that rangers and celtic are leading the race for his signature, along with a few english championship clubs, stoke city, millwall, middlesborough and sunderland from league one. I think you would get dykes for much less than £2million and i personally hope rangers can win this race to sign him.
I don't want celtic to get him, as i think dykes would haunt us bigtime playing for them.
Because let's be honest edouard will be sold for big money just like morelos will!

06 Jun 2020 19:55:47
Who are livi kidding 500k and he's away! They literally can't turn down decent money!

06 Jun 2020 20:02:02
I've said all along that you will get dykes for anything between 750k-£1million max.

06 Jun 2020 20:18:46
Dykes bullied cfc everytime he played against them. He is a big strong lad that will bring a bit of dig to our frontline. Would love Cosgrove to join him. Think that forward line would be very useful, and Shanklands would would only add to that - learning from Defoe would be helpful. But imagine them and Morelos staying - you never know.

06 Jun 2020 20:35:04
Imagined that and it sounds mince.

06 Jun 2020 20:35:34
True blue dykes IMO is better than cosgrove and for easily half the price and here's why mate. Dykes is a helluva lot quicker and much more mobile than cosgrove, he has a better first touch, he's better in the air and every bit as powerful. Dykes between a 1 in 2 and a 1 in 3 record with livingston not to mention his assists into the bargain. I just honestly don't get that people don't see that this big guy has everything, so what's not to want or not to like? 🤔.

06 Jun 2020 21:20:28
I’d say dykes is better than cosgrove and if we got him for 1million tops that was a good deal. Dykes is very hard working good in air has pace and power also good touch for a big guy.

06 Jun 2020 21:33:20
If all those clubs are apparently interested in dykes it's looking less likely we could get him for £500k coop!

06 Jun 2020 21:46:34
He has no pedigree SGL, he's not played in Europe, he's not played for any big club and he's not played for Rangers. How on earth do you think he will cope with the pressure of needing to score every game against 10 man defenses. Its a roll of the dice SGL. There are better strikers out there for no fee at all with the same risk.

06 Jun 2020 21:52:24
Celtic can have him if its £2million.

06 Jun 2020 22:19:03
Any one of those Engl7sh teams can pay 2mill out of their loose change and multiply his wages 10 fold.
Move on guys, this isn't happening.

07 Jun 2020 03:14:50
#announcedykes.

07 Jun 2020 08:12:11
Supercoop. I've never thought that either Dykes or Shankland should be our first string strike force but I don't have a problem with either of them (or both) being signed as back-up to Morelos (if we can keep him) and Defoe.

07 Jun 2020 09:26:53
Boyd hadn't made a mark in europe before we got him off Killie, neither had novo from dundee. He is proven in our league, tore celtic a new one and has ideal attributes, power pace strength finishing and is great in the air. He might just be the TM we are looking for. 👍.

07 Jun 2020 09:47:31
TJBB, we've had many a player signed over my many years of going to watch rangers that came with no pedigree, as you put it, but became very good players with us and left with a pedigree! I just don't wear you're statement here TJBB!

07 Jun 2020 09:48:49
TJBB, how much of a pedigree has the striker lyle taylor we're linked with have mate? 🤔🤔.

07 Jun 2020 11:00:27
Coldo Boyd only ever scored three goals in Europe.
Novo much better. 12 in 43. I also think he may have scored for Dundee but not sure.

Novos style of play was much better suited to Europe than boyds.

07 Jun 2020 11:00:54
I’m all for dykes too, main thing is he knows the league, he knows how to score against these teams he faces and he knows what to expect facing half the defenders already! Wouldn’t be paying more than a mil for him though. As for lyle Taylor scrap that hopefully a load of nonsense!

07 Jun 2020 11:32:52
Not the argument I was poorly trying to make but I take and respect your points.

We had quite a bit more money back then to take a financial risk on a players for 2 million, this time round for 2 million we have to be sure - all i'm saying is its a risk, can we afford to take risks in such a key position. Surely there are players out there on a free, as good if not better. Get high quality players on free or small fee and use the cash for salary.

Whats your opinions on LDs discipline, inexperience, poor coaching, attitude, style of play or all of the above. Do we think it would improve or get worse at Rangers with our trigger happy Refs and Red card by media. Anybody know a Shaolin Monk that can play footy.

07 Jun 2020 12:25:02
Is it just me or does it seem every player we have been linked with about a week later the celtic are linked with them, dykes, Cosgrove, shankland. Gribic etc, etc. Do the celtic still use the sign the gers targets first then go for their own.

07 Jun 2020 13:21:11
Let that lot get cosgrove and hopefully us get dykes and i certainly would be a happy bear!

07 Jun 2020 13:22:39
SGL, I for one 'don't see it' and I coached and scouted for 20 years mate. He is what he is, a bulldozer, not a player, and would never cut it having to do the business with a team going where hopefully we are going. How on earth would he fare in Europe with no experience at that level?

How on earth can you look at him and say he has everything? Ibrahimovic had everything, not this dull effort of a player. For someone who often talks a lot of sense you seem to have a mental block here, like the Billy Davies one you took previously. As TJBB says there are lots of better options out there than Dykes, Cosgrove and Shankland, this is just the Moult / Walker nonsense all over again.

07 Jun 2020 14:13:51
Ok the covenanter you coached and that's fair enough, so i'll ask you this. Are you telling me that lyndon dykes HASN'T got a good first touch,
ISN'T terrific in the air, ISN'T fast, ISN'T good with both feet and COULDN'T do a very good job for rangers in scottish football mate?

07 Jun 2020 14:18:12
The covenanter i respect your opinions mate and it is after all,
all about our different opinions which of course makes the debates on this facility terrific to read and contribute to. Let me ask you in your opinion the covenanter within reason on who's within our grasp out there,
what striker would you like to see rangers signing/ bringing in?

06 Jun 2020 18:22:01
Calvin bassey 4 yr deal.

06 Jun 2020 19:22:12
How long before he gets called Shirley?! . Welcome to the glorious.

06 Jun 2020 20:21:17
If he doesn't hit the road running he will be called a lot worse than that.

06 Jun 2020 21:48:06
If we get Clyne aswell well have Calvin Clyne.

07 Jun 2020 07:32:44
We could have a duet. Crazy big spender!

06 Jun 2020 18:08:58
Thoughts go out to Gary Stevens Family, son fighting a battle just now, Wish them all the best.

06 Jun 2020 18:42:26
I obviously don't know what's happening here but i hope everything works out fine for gary stevens and his family! 🙏May god bless them all! 🙏. Like you i wish the family all the very best wishes and hope everything becomes ok for them!

06 Jun 2020 20:03:20
His son jack battling leukaemia, think there’s a donation page set up also.

06 Jun 2020 20:37:30
Awe that's very sad mate, so it is.
My heart 💓 goes out to the family got bless them all 🙏. Hope it can be curtailed! 🙏.

07 Jun 2020 03:16:07
Still class him as easily the best right back I've saw in a rangers shirt. Absolute rolls royce of a full back.

07 Jun 2020 09:50:35
Totally with you Herewego55,gary stevens was our best right back of that era with ease. A total athlete he was. Terrific full back! 👌👍.

07 Jun 2020 13:29:04
Second best right back I’ve seen at rangers. Sandy Jardine just edges it.
God bless him and all his family.

07 Jun 2020 18:27:11
I'm not that old john 😂😂😂 I was only young when Gary Steven's was at us and just started going to games, thought he was a tremendous full back, very rarely got beat and excellent going forward.

07 Jun 2020 20:36:48
I get thar herewego. It was a privilege to watch Sandy. I’m Mid 60s
U r right re Stevens a fantastic player, imagine we had him now.

06 Jun 2020 18:04:45
Welcome to the famous Calvin bassey, hopefully turns out a future great.

06 Jun 2020 19:04:41
Who is Calvin Bassey? Is he any good? What age is he? Was it a free?

06 Jun 2020 19:34:09
Stuck. He is a left back who can play centre back aged twenty. Apparently big lad, it says very strong defender who likes to get forward.
We signed him on development deal off 270k. Allegedly he was interesting, Newcastle, West Ham and Leverkusen.
signed for us four years.
Here’s hoping he progresses.

06 Jun 2020 19:35:54
U23 Leicester player mate, never played for their full side but they still wanted to keep him. Cross border fee so around 200k. Apparently Leverkusen were interested. Will be back up for Borna, rather a young, hungry player that someone like flanno.

06 Jun 2020 20:12:30
Cheers John25 and Snell.

06 Jun 2020 20:18:01
I wonder how much he'll be on a week £15 K ?

06 Jun 2020 20:56:44
Stuck I think less, play we’ll train hard wages go up.

07 Jun 2020 03:02:42
Stuck, you're having a laugh, surely? There are guys in Leicester's first team squad on less then that. He'll likely be on £4-5k with rises written into his contract as he progresses.

06 Jun 2020 18:00:59
Welcome to IBROX "CALVIN BASSEY".

06 Jun 2020 17:55:25
To win the title next season we have to sign good scottish players who know the spl. Celtic have a core of scortish players, as did walter during hus two terms.

06 Jun 2020 18:46:57
I agree there's without question talent currently in scotland at the minute that we could sign and they obviously can play in this league. If walter smith was rangers manager at this moment in time, he would stop 10in a row by signing a few players within scottish football at the minute! Sir walter would find the perfect mix/ blend to stop them!

06 Jun 2020 20:27:45
The Scottish players Walter signed were far superior than the dross of players getting mentioned the now.

06 Jun 2020 17:53:09
RANGERS are delighted to announce the pre-contract signing of Calvin Bassey from Leicester City.

The highly-rated 20-year-old defender has made the decision to join the Gers on a four-year-deal with Rangers paying training compensation to Leicester after Bassey decided to make the switch from the Midlands across the border to Scotland.

06 Jun 2020 17:51:54
Calvin Bassey, eh? Management caught everybody out again! I like how we are now doing our business.

06 Jun 2020 19:16:31
Who did they catch out? No slagging btw just wondering.

06 Jun 2020 19:35:47
All off us, I love it when we sign a first team player who has not been plastered over papers for weeks.

07 Jun 2020 10:36:07
We have been watching him since Xmas. Well under radar rangers. That’s how I like it.

06 Jun 2020 17:08:27
just a thought, would you take chris brunt for a season.

06 Jun 2020 17:18:17
Think brunt too old.

06 Jun 2020 17:52:14
In a word, no.

06 Jun 2020 18:18:48
No point in signing players who are no better than what we have or satisfying players boyhood dreams once there past their best .

06 Jun 2020 18:19:00
2-3 years ago yes but now he won’t fit the profile of young talent with potential sell on. We need some experience to add to what we have of course, sprinkled with the likes of Kent, Hagi and the like. We are ok for wide players as it stands assuming Jones, Hastie, Murphy stay. I think we need to keep strengthening and selling on though.

06 Jun 2020 17:05:19
hi what's peoples tvoughts on us wearing a special kit in 2022 for our 150th anniversary and what do people think it should look like I personally would like somthing like what the gallant pioneers were wearing in the well know photo with the ringed socks light blue shirt a star on the breast mabey with the RFC crest in the star?

06 Jun 2020 18:12:38
Aye ready i don't think there's any doubt that castore will make a very special kit for our 150th anniversary.

06 Jun 2020 18:13:43
The founding fathers wore a white shirt with the blue star mate.

06 Jun 2020 15:33:34
Is the spfl stating how many games need to be played in the 20/ 21 season with the potential of a second hit of the virus. or it's it whatever the decide at the time or whoever pays Doncaster the most wins or doesn't get relegated am just wondering if it money or loyalty that wins the league and the same with relegation.

06 Jun 2020 16:19:29
That's what I've been saying, what makes you champions next season? is there a certain amount of games that need to be played? Have you got to be a certain amount of points ahead or just 1 point? Can all the teams vote when to call the league off if they are skint and need paid out or is it the same as this season where doncaster and liewell decide?

06 Jun 2020 18:20:31
You's are just being silly now. Get over it and move on. 👍.

06 Jun 2020 18:34:19
Surely after this debatable situation they have put a rule in place, if not then someone should be sacked.

Rivalries 2: Brighton v Palace

06 Jun 2020 15:11:41
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Rivalries 2: Brighton v Palace

06 Jun 2020 13:43:55
Bare with this hypothesis for a minute folks.

I've thought for many years that TV would eventually dictate football as it does now but to a greater extent.

For example, Monday night viewing, Bournemouth v Crystal Palace would attract a certain amount of viewers no doubt. However, Chelsea v Rangers or Man U v Celtic or perm this with any of the large European teams and you get my drift.

The TV companies would surely be looking at the potential draw of certain teams and be thinking, look at what we could be making if these leagues were expanded.

Well now that footie might be a closed door event, this could be the time where this notion could be explored through the streaming platforms.

I can't have been the only person to have thought this way so surely these highly paid TV executive types must've given this a bit of thought.

Anyway, maybe just some wishful thinking on my part and logistically probably a nightmare but hope is a wonderful thing lol.

06 Jun 2020 13:59:15
All you have suggested is what the uefa cup / champs league is👍.

06 Jun 2020 14:16:22
I agree, CVD, I think the old firm in the EPL would be massive for the TV firms, and for fans. Would be some cracking matches.

06 Jun 2020 14:22:31
Never going to happen.

06 Jun 2020 15:00:12
Epl not interested in old firm.

06 Jun 2020 15:20:12
Rather than England. It'll be an expanded Europa League and champions League in the future.

06 Jun 2020 11:48:15
What do yous guys think of the proposed 14 14 18 new league set up with the rangers and celtic colt teams involved? I say this is a very clever and devious move by anne budge dangling the carrot of the old firm colt teams involvement, and for this privilege we need to pay £120,000 along with celtic and pay for 250 away tickets at £15 pop for every away game, i bet kelty and brora who will promoted don't do this, i'd tell her to chase herself, celtic won the league, so hearts must be relegated, end of discussion!

06 Jun 2020 12:09:58
Ally my understanding this is a Rangers proposal not budge. It’s us saying if u want our sport here is what we want. Very clever move.

06 Jun 2020 12:14:18
I don't think that it was Hearts that proposed the Rangers and Celtic Colts Teams entering the lower leagues and I reckon it was a great idea. No team should be relegated when the leagues can't be played to a conclusion. From a Rangers perspective it will provide us with proper competition for our young players.

06 Jun 2020 13:08:10
Ally. 1 it was Rangers that came up with the new league set up. 2 Pacific Shelf never WON the league they were gifted it by the Corrupt SPFL 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️😎👍.

06 Jun 2020 13:12:44
This 14-14-18 is rangers proposal allyboy1976!

06 Jun 2020 13:14:33
Not only is it a great opportunity for the Scottish game financially, it's a great move politically by Rangers. This proposal could save a lot of clubs and see Rangers as innovators who have the future of football in this country at it's core.

06 Jun 2020 13:17:20
If you read the comments of other fans pdot unfortunately we aren't being hailed as innovators, it's big bad rangers as per usual! Bored of this countries contempt for us, can't do anything right!

06 Jun 2020 13:29:49
Well, if they can't see the benefit of the proposal, hell mend them! What they are being offered is better than anything else on the table to enable them to survive. I want to see all clubs stay afloat, but if they are foolish enough to reject this, let them perish!

06 Jun 2020 13:29:55
Rangers proposal ally.

06 Jun 2020 13:39:47
berkshireblue no team can be relegated without completion of the league, then no team should be promoted or given the league, sweet talk it as much as you like reconstruction should not be happening, and i for one hope it fails, tainted title, tainted league, tainted sfa and spfl.

06 Jun 2020 13:43:49
Berkshire totally agree we need better competition/ investment for youth in our country. Colts teams is a step in the right direction but with only two, this is still not going to be enough exposure for enough youngsters in this country. There needs to be a fundamental change in how we value our game and how much £ is invested.
A question for the older bears even tims on here, I'm mid 30s so unable to answer from first hand experience. Up until the mid 80's scotland were able to produce genuine world class players on a regular basis. What has changed or been lost in this country since then to cause the slump in the quality of player produced?

06 Jun 2020 13:54:41
If they are foolish enough not to see the benefit of the proposal then hell mend them! If they choose to be blinded by their jealousy and hatred of our club, let them perish. I honestly believe that our motives are pure, and the best on offer. Without it, a lot of them will die, those remaining will never have the chance to progress and improve.

06 Jun 2020 14:02:13
Rangers and celtic are the problem bob. I'm in my 50s and all rangers and celtic teams were full of scottish players and lots went on from lower clubs to play in england. Now we would prefer an Italian to a player playing for shettleson juniors. The amount of players to come through junior ranks in the 70s and 80s was unbelievable. Other problem is too many coaches in kids football only interested in their own boy rather than the team.

06 Jun 2020 14:22:44
I think this is a great proposal and would right some of the wrongs imposed by idiotic decisions by the SPFL. Scotland is far too small for 4 senior leagues.

06 Jun 2020 14:43:08
Fauldhoose bear you are spot on regarding kids football it’s unbelievable what goes on with parents at these games even encouraging boys to break legs etc.

06 Jun 2020 15:01:32
Amazing the stats for players in countries like Spain and Croatia who have played in Colt teams.

Rangers have come up with a great plan here but I doubt it will be voted through although my brother disagrees and says with Lawwell's support it will likely happen.

06 Jun 2020 16:59:55
Coming from a celtic fan, sounds like a really decent idea. Both Celtic and Rangers have pushed the idea of colt teams in the past.

06 Jun 2020 11:45:07
Regarding kamberi, I'm not sure. Seems to have attributes power pace etc but for me he seems to play better if you bring him on as a sub, an impact player maybe. regards spending 20 million and keep our best players we would need serious investment and offload players who are mere squad members.

06 Jun 2020 11:38:47
Just been over to tainted town took the short cut through Asterix Avenue
It really is a dump.
Anyway it's lucky charm day because
Fifer is celebrating 9th wedding anniversary.
Leon's son has been going to games for 9years.
And there's more all relating to the no.9 they really are a bunch of phlonkers. (oh a nine letter word) .

It's quite rare this disease there's only ever been nine reported cases.
And the last one was nine years ago.
It is highly contagious but not life threatening most infected are delusional and unable to count properly in fact 99% can only count to 8 and three quarters but actually
belive they have counted to nine.
They will start to sweat heavily and foam at the mouth and get really angry if you try to put them right.

If you are ever confronted by any of these ninecompoops find a place of safety and call nine nine nine.

06 Jun 2020 11:49:30
They have 9 and are going for 10. Deal with it because that's exactly what we have to do this season, stop 10. We would never have caught them. let's move on. Whether we like it or not they are going for 10. Yip the season wasn't over and the title was awarded to them but let's be honest if you think we would have caught them then you need a reality check. let's focus on us and our team as that's the real issue. Anything else is just deflection tactics. 👍.

06 Jun 2020 12:19:42
Totally agree Coldo, don't know why some fans can argue they're on 8.5 or even 4 seen as we weren't in the league for 4 of them. Honestly, yes, they won/ awarded the league but there's no way we would have caught them given how the team were playing.

06 Jun 2020 12:41:41
Totally agree we just have to get over it's 9 wether we like it or not, If we don't win the league next season sg has to go for me, no more excuses.

06 Jun 2020 13:02:18
Bulls**t it's 8 and three quarters and I'm sticking to it. Nothing or No one will ever change my mind on that one.
Cheating B******S.

06 Jun 2020 13:26:18
I've been involved watching and going everywhere to see rangers for a long time now fellow bears. The way i would sum it up is celtic have undoubtedly WON 8 league titles in a row. Now I know we weren't in the same league as them for 4 of those titles but they still won them and that will show in the record books.
However regarding this season's league title and whether we're saying its 8.75 in a row and they're saying its 9 in a row, the honest truth as far as i'm concerned is celtic have WON 8 league titles in a row and were AWARDED they're prospective 9th league title in a row, due to a worldwide virus that tragically has killed many many people! That for me has to have some sort of asterisk/ any other mark for that matter, in the record books against their prospective 9th league title in a row! that's it lock, stock and barrel for me guys, without being biased at all!

06 Jun 2020 13:57:46
The tims can dress it up anyway they want.
They won 8IAR and were awarded an unearned tainted title. 👍
And nobody knows how the remaining games would have played out after a 12 - 14 week break. The Tims could have crashed and burned or increased their lead, that's the beauty of football.
It's all hearsay and opinions.

Sgl. Does it matter if it's an asterisk or not. 8.75 or 9. Records are there to be broken in any sport and shall be broken even when we are not here.

For me that is our problem we are too interested in 9.75 or 10 in a row rather than thinking about the future of glasgow rangers.

06 Jun 2020 14:06:41
Guys I honestly think that it would have been hard for Rangers to catch them. But not mathematically impossible So why o why does the SPFL cancel the league WHEN they are starting up again in England on the 17th of June. At this moment in time Scottish football is the laughing stock of the world. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️😎👍.

06 Jun 2020 14:29:15
Cunny, I asked exactly the same question. Only Doncaster can answer that. I think its something to do with releasing his bonus.

06 Jun 2020 15:40:42
Fauldhoose bear, I've been saying that for a long time now. We are far too fixated on 'records' that were made before we were born and will continue to be made long after we are not here. Our fixation should be on ensuring the permanence, prosperity and safety of our club for future generations and then enjoying trophies when they come. I keep saying it, I supported this club when they won just 4 titles in 22 years (as a teenager I never saw us winning the league at all) and I followed on - that's what supporters do. And by the way, they have won 8 titles with a 9th awarded to them, so they have not won nine in a row.

50% on here wanting dykes or cosgrove and say get your head out the sand we cannot afford to spend XX my reply to that is you must also get your head out the sand cause players mentioned recently will not win Rangers the league next season its everything or bust that is the mentality that should be applied here there not getting 10 in a row as mentioned before some may disagree my view is we need 15-20M NOW without selling our best players to have any chance of winning the league there needs to be at least 5 QUALITY players added it is so obvious or kiss goodbye to a title I understand times are difficult but it is win or nothing I predict everyone reading this will come back next year complaining about gerrard or the team if my view is not followed I've been a season ticket holder for 42 years and watch the team every match I know where the weaknesses are in that team some are passangers others don't have the bottle one thing is for sure we lack real quality to get over the line when it matters I write this not with an ego just concern the fans will be disappointed once again the fans have taken enough kicks i'm not asking the club to go into debt but just bring in the best they can the 20M is my personal opinion where the team currently sits on all aspects.

06 Jun 2020 07:42:54
rfc98, I empathise totally with your feelings, however, your mention of the word 'bust', is very relevant to me, I want my Club to survive this terrible time and survive, just like other non-sport related businesses.

We cannot go gung ho in my opinion just to stop something that may or may not happen, look where it got us before. We all want us to stop them next season, and, I believe we can simple by applying ourselves better in our matches against all teams, not just Celtic. Ask yourself, can we afford to spend £20 million without selling, and would it be sensible to do so at this time, bearing in mind where we have had to come from.

06 Jun 2020 08:04:28
Spot on rfc98. I've said on here before that we must keep Morelos to have any chance of winning the league next season and I'm OK with signing maybe Shankland (or Dykes) as part of the back-up strike force but retain Defoe as well. £20 million, if available, should allow Gerrard to sign two or three quality players.

06 Jun 2020 08:39:01
Ok who would you bring in?

06 Jun 2020 09:05:15
Interesting post.
But next season is not 'everything or bust' that mentality helped put this club in the 2nd division.
We definitely need an improvement on the quality of players.
I really can't see us spending £20m this summer though.

06 Jun 2020 09:08:49
Totally agree with what you are saying, an accurate assessment and straight to the point, not something we see on here too often. My only concern is do we have the funds available to buy these players, and if so, will the money be spent wisely this time, by that I mean, no more Grezdas, Barkers, Ohno’s Ejaria’s, etc. One thing is for sure, if the money is available, the right players must be brought in or else it’s a disaster, we have enough duds on our books as it is.

06 Jun 2020 09:47:28
Parks said that investment was coming in the next couple of months.
I agree with you rfc98 that dykes and Cosgrove aren't the answer only because it doesn't fit the business plan. Can't see their value increasing too much and as you say are they going to get us a champions League spot?

06 Jun 2020 09:48:27
we must do all we can to stop the 10iar apart from "bust" i want a team to follow for me, my kids and my grandkids. so to go gungho into stopping 10iar is way to dangerous for me. I agree that everything within our means should be given to stop the bragging rights that would follow but more importantly it must be done in a sustainable way. put it this way if we went "bust" it would only be the next 10 years that they would get that bragging right anyway as noone else in Scotland would stop them as it was proven in the years following 2012.

06 Jun 2020 10:03:28
I agree that winning the league and stopping 10 is a must however I don't think we will spend 20 mil. You are right that we need quality and the mentality. I think we need a RB, CB, CM, TM. I also think we should be signing Kamberi. He has strength, pace, and can finish. He can beat a man and can play RM LM ST. He has proved he can play for us domestically and in europe. Him kent and hagi tore braga apart over there. We need a new captain, someone who is a leader. Gerrard needs to stop tinkering and be more tactically aware, particularly domestically. One ST against a back 5 and teams who sit in is ridiculous, that's why we need a TM who will bully defences in a 442.👍.

06 Jun 2020 10:15:34
Coldo, would you want/ take former celtic goalscoring midfielder stuart armstrong at ibrox mate? Do you reckon he would add a lot to our midfield?

06 Jun 2020 10:16:36
Coldo

Kamberi was struggling for a place in a very average Hibs side how is that good enough for us? Not saying he doesn’t have ability however he is very inconsistent and doesn’t turn up in too many games.

06 Jun 2020 10:29:36
Nobody's going for ten next season.

06 Jun 2020 10:32:07
I agree Bears. Some Money (10-20 mill), 4 quality hard hitting fit robust machines in the positions mentioned, mental strength as a team and firepower or tactics to guarantee goals against an 10 man defense. Jack would be my choice of captain, or Fred LOL, could you imagine the press reaction.

06 Jun 2020 10:36:17
Guys 20 million, so ask your self this. 4 x 5 million players = 20 million but you would have another 4 to 8 million on wages. This is not sustainable and we would go out the game.

Some guys on here now saying we need to spend 20 million yet 3 weeks ago were saying we could have still win the league if the corrupt spfl had not declared the league over.

We are no different from the east end mob and we have to sell at profit to be sustainable.

06 Jun 2020 10:47:24
Good points TJBB.

And we don't know how much we have to spend at this stage.

I would imagine imagine their best player by a distance Edouard will be on his way to the EPL and we all know that Celtic will be weakened severely by that as they will only spend a fraction of what they receive for him like when Tierney left them last summer.

06 Jun 2020 11:02:31
Weve let go at least 5 players in the last month and if we bring anyone in then more will go to balance the equation, possibly Kamara, Doc, Murphy, Mcrorie, Polster, Middleton, Barker. that's 12 players wages to pay for 4 players wages. i'm not suggesting sign 4 players on top of what we've got. SG always wanted to trim the squad right down and then add real quality.

06 Jun 2020 11:05:18
Can’t see us being able to spend 20Mill we still owe money for Kent and now Hagi.

06 Jun 2020 11:12:50
Morelos as captain now there’s a thought! Actually it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

06 Jun 2020 11:14:09
Totally agree

We need to win this league this year

I’m not sure if Gerrard has it in him to be honest to go out and get the right players and get them challenging
I just can’t see what he’s going to do different
Not enough experience not knowing what tactics to deploy against some teams in our league and when the heads go down not sure he has it in him to lift them again

I’m sorry it’s worrying times

Mr boomer man strikes again 😉 but no point in lying about what I think.

06 Jun 2020 11:29:58
Biff who cares if he was struggling at hibs that is irrelevant. You just have to look at his performances for us to know that he can play for us. I'm not saying that he will be first 11 but he will be a great player to have in the squad. Him hagi and kent tore braga apart on their own patch and you are going on about struggling to get a game at hibs.

Coop I would take armstrong, if a player adds genuine quality then I don't think it matters where he has been before. 👍.

06 Jun 2020 12:12:28
SGL Armstrong would be better than any player we have in our midfield by a mile.

06 Jun 2020 13:31:45
Fellow bears do we think armstrong would come to rangers, if the chance did arise? 🤔.

06 Jun 2020 13:33:00
Coldo

Nope I’m my opinion not good enough for us and didn’t do nearly enough in the time he was at the club.
