I was having a think about the boy Turnbull and the price it might reach to sign him then I got thinking about the boy aribo who will not bring a transfer fee as out of contract there can't really be much difference but one will be free and one maybe a couple million what do u guys think?

06 Jun 2019 21:51:56
A think SG prefers the lad from Charlton and will be the cheeper option.

06 Jun 2019 18:57:54
Its a lot clearer to see now why steven gerrard isn't moving to try and sign motherwell goalscoring midfielder, david turnbull. He's wanting to sign charlton athletic goalscoring, attacking midfielder joe aribo,
who gerrard obviously rates better than turnbull. I really like turnbull, but i also trust gerrard totally. So if he thinks aribo would be the better signing, than i for one most definitely back him. Quite obviously we won't try and sign both as they play in a similar position and we've already got too much midfielders. We're top heavy in that department.

06 Jun 2019 20:00:56
Nothing to do with SG preferring Aribo over Turnbull. We are already top heavy, so £3 million or about 300k for similar is a no brainer in my opinion.

06 Jun 2019 21:41:15
Its got everything to do with steven gerrard my friend. Are you trying to tell me that if gerrard 100% prefered turnbull as opposed to aribo, that he would just say ach well, aribo is cheaper so i'll just take him? I personally don't think gerrard would work like that. He's very single minded to what he wants.

07 Jun 2019 17:36:54
SGL how do you know who SG rates and doesn’t?
On the turnbull he may think he isn’t worth that sort of money or they could be loads of reasons but you just spout utter rubbish on here when you haven’t a clue really.

Remembering our heroes this D-day anniversary!

06 June 1944.

06 Jun 2019 19:54:10
Here here C-of-ibrox! We've got the life we have today, because of these so very brave heroes! We owe them everything. God bless them all and all their connecting families, throughout the years. "AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"!

06 Jun 2019 20:33:15
My Grandad (died 2010 aged 91) was a D day vet I'll never forget his story of a guy Claiming to be one of the first to get on the beach and scale the nets up the cliff. My grandad said to him who put up the nets you were climbing? the guy could not answer, grandad ( a R. E. himself) told him the Engineers so you certainly were not the first ashore. Grandad never spoke of the war itself but this story tickled him he told it many times. And Coop its
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

06 Jun 2019 21:12:09
Great story BP, they had to keep a lot of crap under the surface, must have been hard.

06 Jun 2019 21:41:41
Bit of an emotional day watching DDay programs
Fantastic to see you lads mention this as theses guys were some generation. Courageous faithful and loyal men

wonderful men and women
Thank you.

06 Jun 2019 21:44:00
Ok bluepete, my post was still meant to praise and honour these brave heroes, irrespective if i missed the beginning part out, because trust me i knew that.

06 Jun 2019 21:58:17
SC11 you missed the “and in the morning” part as well not just the beginning. Trust me. But I truly believe you knew that as well in my honest opinion.

07 Jun 2019 07:30:08
Heroes, every one. Without them we would be speaking German.

06 Jun 2019 12:13:05
stuck £15 on Ronaldo to score a hat trick at 10-1 last night. the full lots going on rangers and Liverpool to win their respective leagues next season wish me luck.

06 Jun 2019 12:57:44
You'd be better placing it as a each way bet. I expect the same outcome in both leagues as this year.

06 Jun 2019 13:28:31
I think somebody's on the wrong page again. 🎣🎣 Get your cash on the Gers kyle 55 on it's way. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

06 Jun 2019 14:22:18
You’d be better sticking it on Celtics manager not to last the season, first bit of pressure “the best fans in the world” will turn on one of their own!

06 Jun 2019 14:29:41
Even money Steve trophyless Gerrard will be gone by Easter 2020.

06 Jun 2019 16:37:23
Gerrard has more class in one of his strands of hair, than that popcorn teeth ned, that you're lot has as you're manager. Neil lennon won't last the season at septic. Gerrard will b at least 4 years as the manager of the famous glasgow rangers.

06 Jun 2019 19:58:25
Hope rangers and liverpool do the double and win their respective leagues next season. I truly think there's a very good chance they will. Going against the grain here as i'm wanting liverpool to win the english premier league, as my favourite english team is newcastle utd, but they unfortunately won't win it, so i hope liverpool and klopp do!

06 Jun 2019 22:31:56
I'll take bets of AHW not being able to stay off the Rangers page for five mins and I'm offering great odds of 1/ 5 as this lad eats, sleeps and takes air of all things Rangers!

07 Jun 2019 07:34:24
Tgfitw are already growling and grumbling about him. Straight jacket by the end of September. Their squad is falling apart and needs work, however they have to keep their cash for other pursuits.

06 Jun 2019 11:39:08
As this is the silly season, may I remind all, that if a player is going to cost £3 - 5M he will probably be looking for at least £20,000/ week. This would add another £1M/ per year. For some who want to take a "punt" on some players, or players who would enhance the squad by being on the bench, seems to me an expensive punt when wages are taken into consideration, and this would probably be for 2 or 3 years. The transfer fee is only the tip of the "iceberg". For me, for this salary he has to start and produce the goods.

06 Jun 2019 12:28:00
A 19 year old Scotsman is not going to be on anywhere near 20k p/ wk, regardless of transfer fee. Wallace and McAuley have left and more will follow freeing up more wages. We are in a better position financially than last year and we don’t need a major rebuild.

Keep Believing!

06 Jun 2019 12:44:15
Really hope you are right Bigman but I fear we may sell some of our best players, even if we get good money for them, its a big recruitment again really hope I'm wrong.

06 Jun 2019 20:00:00
Bluetoon, if you don't mind me asking pal, with your posting name, i take it you also like newcastle utd?

06 Jun 2019 10:09:18
Definitely worth a crack SGL the boy's a cracking player and only going to get better. In the worst case and he goes to the dark side at least we've pushed the price up.

06 Jun 2019 18:44:53
See if you try pressing reply to above post instead of starting a new 1, some of us might have a clue what you are on about mate 👍🏻.

Review Of The Day 6th June 2019

06 Jun 2019 07:29:16
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 6th June 2019

06 Jun 2019 04:58:16
I know we've got more midfielders than to shake a stick at, but I honestly feel we're missing out on a cracking, goalscoring midfielder, in motherwell's david turnbull, if we don't at least try and sign him. Motherwell have now admitted that celtic have made contact of their intentions to sign turnbull,
with as many as 9 other clubs who have made inquiries about signing him. The motherwell ceo burrows, has said that celtic are the only scottish club, trying to sign turnbull. I think we'll have missed a big opportunity here, if we don't throw our hat in the ring to try and sign turnbull. He's a very good talented midfielder, who will only get better and better. I hope gerrard makes a move for him.

06 Jun 2019 07:47:33
As I’ve said before Supercooper, I’ll be pretty frustrated if we didn’t make an honest attempt to sign him. It’s early in the window and / or SG might just not fancy him but he’s a cracking prospect and not somebody we should be losing out to Celtic.

06 Jun 2019 08:30:13
We should be in the mix and and if he goes for £2.75m as has been quoted then we may live to regret it. The main thing here is how much money do we have? If our total budget is £5-£8m then it’s hard to justify that money on a player when we have other areas to address. The main point here I would say is I’d be looking for that sort of money for McCrorie and Turnbull has proved more than Ross McCrorie. We would want far more for Kamara day, so if we want him and I think he would be a terrific signing long term, than pay the money and take a chance!

06 Jun 2019 08:58:43
Can we afford to get into a bidding war with other teams?
Or splash cash on a player who might not always start? Who do we leave out for him?

06 Jun 2019 09:39:45
We definitely can’t afford to spend a few million on a player who won’t start games for us.

06 Jun 2019 11:51:03
We have already done that @Deemc22 - you only need to look as far as Grezda.
