06 Jun 2016 21:15:02
Its good we are so active in this transfer window and being linked to so many quality players it's a far cry from the keek we've been through. I'm really looking forward to our friendlies hope we play some good teams.

06 Jun 2016 21:35:09
Yeah, love all the speculation, can't wait regardless, in w and w we trust, all together now. You know the rest.

07 Jun 2016 07:07:20
STUZO . Get yourself down to the petrol station tonight for some real fitba gossip.

07 Jun 2016 10:31:25
Apart from Taylor and nelson who are we linked with?

07 Jun 2016 11:25:33
delboy go on to the rumours page and see we have been linked with a good few players mate but I hope not all of them are true lol.

07 Jun 2016 14:15:16
Cheers James, it should be an interesting summer and I can't wait to August to see our starting 11.

07 Jun 2016 16:13:56
First game is 16th July mate, not that long to go now.

07 Jun 2016 16:18:41
no probs delboy I think we will see warburtons plans for rangers when the window opens I think its this Thursday correct me if i'm wrong pls.
but the rest of the rumours are just that until warburton comes out and shows us what he has got in the transfer window I think he will still surprise us with one or two that we wouldn't expect to c up here!

06 Jun 2016 15:59:10
If we could land Tom Bradshaw for 1 million it would be a bargain and he would bang in goals for fun in Scotland.

06 Jun 2016 20:35:36
Would take him in a heartbeat.

07 Jun 2016 10:44:41
Me too! certainly a better option than Agbonlahor for 3 million.

07 Jun 2016 11:27:21
guy would be the best signing we have done for me and would rip the defences apart up here.

06 Jun 2016 13:57:21
I know I will take some flack for this.
I know he is hibs and we hate hibs but what about putting in a serious bid for john mcginn.

I think he is a great prospect and the best of that dying hibs team.

just put in an offer they can't refuse the boy will be worth millions in about 3 years time.

06 Jun 2016 15:32:34
Do you not think we have enough midfielders and need to start strengthening in other areas?

06 Jun 2016 17:07:10
Are u joking? His grandad used to be the Celtic chairman, no chance he would go to us.

06 Jun 2016 19:09:47
I think he would jump at the chance because even he must know he's nowhere near good enough.

06 Jun 2016 19:19:16
Mcginn should stay in green and white! Whichever 1 he wants but naw no chance for rangers, If we were taking anyone from championship I'd rather stevie mallan.

06 Jun 2016 21:36:30
He will end up wi tefal that noggin, anyone rem those adverts from the 70s, lol.

{Ed039's Note - I was born in 83)

GersB

Does that really matter? Scott Allan comes from a Rangers daft family.

Kenny Miller played for Celtic and for me was our best player last season

Wee mo Johnston was paraded at park head and we snuck in and signed him

I also think ohallorans dad is a youth coach at park head.

07 Jun 2016 09:05:42
Mcginn good player could sell law shields etc and for him stayimg in shite n white did u think that too when miller played in shite n white?

07 Jun 2016 10:51:49
No Kaymer I did not think that of Kenny at all, he always possessed an admirable work ethic and natural ability. My opinion of McGinn is not based on a bigoted view, I for 1 think he is over-rated and would prefer to see him waste his time at either Hibs or Celtic, as I stated I would much prefer Stevie Mallan as an alternative if I was to take anyone from the championship! but to be honest I don't really think we should be looking at Scottish Championship players now anyway.

07 Jun 2016 11:25:17
Don't know which Kenny miller you watch as he has very little ability in terms of football, his work rate is second to none tho. The only player I would take from hibs is cummings.

07 Jun 2016 11:32:03
just wanted to know your views guys I don't agree with most of them I think it would be smart business for us and we would be getting a very talented hungry young player.

and scottygdf in my opinion the boys work rate is phanominal and he has great ability and is more than capable of playing in the spl!

06 Jun 2016 13:53:19
Rangers enquire about Plymouth centre back and captain what do u think.

06 Jun 2016 15:32:23
Seen him play few times and wasn't impressed at all.

06 Jun 2016 13:52:39
1. Matt Crooks CB/ CM
2. Josh Windass RM/ LM
3. Jordan Rossiter DM/ CM
4. Joey Barton RM/ CM
5. Possibly Ex Newcastle Utd CB Steven Taylor
6. Possibly Ex Plymouth Argyle CB Curtis Nelson
7. Still need cover for the left Back Berth
8. Right Maybe
9 Midfielder Playmaker
10. Striker Penalty Box Type
If we were fill these positions we would be in a very good position to Challenge Celtic for the Title.

06 Jun 2016 15:13:58
Think Halliday is seen as cover for left backAbomb.

06 Jun 2016 15:13:58
Think Halliday is seen as cover for left backAbomb.

06 Jun 2016 15:27:45
Also Windass is a Secondary Striker. not a Left/ Right midfielder.

06 Jun 2016 17:19:09
Is Barton not a midfield playmaker?

06 Jun 2016 11:44:28
hopefully there will be a good opponent lined up for a pre season friendly at ibrox . spurs maybe?

06 Jun 2016 14:23:31
weve already pumped them. lol.

07 Jun 2016 11:34:22
id like to play their first team though.

06 Jun 2016 10:06:53
with the potential of singing Steven Taylor, why is there so much negativity about it? he played in the EPL last year, he was offered a one year deal by Newcastle and rejected it. Surely an English premier league/ Championship player is a great signing for us? yes he is injury prone, but with the right care and attention we could keep him fit.

06 Jun 2016 10:59:56
Exactly onlyshow, I think the plan will be to use him sparingly in the big games. Crooks, Wilson and Kearnan can rotate against the easier teams and keep Taylor fit for the games against harder opposition. Obviously if he is staying for them play him more.
Nobody should be turning their noses up at players who have played EPL football their entire career.

06 Jun 2016 15:19:56
I have one name for folk that think Taylor is injury prone and past. Davie Weir!
Look what happened with him with the correct training reigeme.
Would LOVE Stevie Taylor at Ibrox. No nonsense CB! Will put his head where others wouldn't put there boot!

06 Jun 2016 15:33:55
Wilson and Kiernan were poor against championship sides so who are the easier teams we could play?

06 Jun 2016 17:07:19
Centre backs need to understand each other you cannot hope to have success changing them depending on the opposition. Either he plays and can remain fit or he's not with the gamble.

06 Jun 2016 22:18:31
They also played really well against SPFL opposition on every occasion bar the St Johnstone game Biffo. I think the manager will be loyal and give Wilson and Kiernan the same chance next season as anyone coming in to be honest. I still feel that Wilson could be a quality CB for us with the right guy beside him and with a good CDM in front, which we now have. Crooks and Wilson at CB and Barton/ Rossiter in front would be solid.

Last year the manager was confident we would outscore every team in the Championship and he was right. This season is different I agree, but I think people are writing off our back 5 from last year prematurely.

If Eustace had been signed we would not even be having these conversations, as they would have had far more protection. Just look at the games Ball was in CDM and Halliday was further forward. The back 5 were immense up against the best the SPFL had to offer in Celtic. People act as if it's the EPL we're going into, Celtic just won it with the likes of Boyata, Mulgrew and Ambrose at the back.

Also Doc to say that CB's can't interchange is ridiculous. In the modern game every position is rotatable.

07 Jun 2016 08:41:10
Recbob

How can you possibly say IF Eustace signed we would not be having those conversations? That's just sheer speculation with no basis. Eustace may have been a flop and it could have been worse. Kiernan and Wilson aren't the answer and were too easily exposed in the championship. The previous season players like McCulloch and Moshni were slaughtered yet we only conceded 5 goals less in the league this season and people are wanting to give poor centre halves another chance. Remember as well Hearts were in the league the previous season so we faced much tougher opposition then. We need 2 new centre halves who can tackle and head the ball not 2 centre halves who can't tackle and are poor in the air.

07 Jun 2016 10:48:49
I say that because I've seen him play many times over the years and if fit he was exactly the type of player we needed to protect the defence. Experienced, strong in the tackle and disciplined. To say a man of Eustace's experience in the EPL and Championship would have flopped in the Scottish Championship is ludicrous. Same goes for Taylor.
All this talk of they conceded 5 less than the 2 last year is irrelevant, we were playing a completely different system. Our defenders conceded goals this year whilst the rest of the team including the CDM and FB's were bombing froward without a thought for defence. No comparison to last years tactics, which were all out defend.
Wilson, Kiernan, Tav and Foz have all played at SPFL level or above, to say they can't handle that league is a joke. Would you not say that with Ball in front of them who is far more defensive minded than Halliday they looked a lot more solid? CDM is not even Ball's position, once we have the right cover in front of the back 5 they will look a lot more convincing.
Do I want someone of Talylors experience in as well? Of course I do it can only help. I'd also like another CB to challenge if Crooks is to be played in midfield but I'm not writing off last years guys just yet. They also went nearly 3 months without conceding between Dec till Mar lest we forget.
I think the defensive frailties lie at the manger's door, he left them out to hang with his tactics and personnel. As I said above he got away with it by out scoring teams. This year we will still out score teams but will have far better protection in front of the defence, what's the problem?

07 Jun 2016 11:44:58
I agree that the cb's need to be replaced. hopefully they are. I think Wilson is too slow and lazy this entire season and doesn't deserve another chance. he was scared of going in for the tackle that could have saved us a goal on soo many occasions and keirnan well you show me a cb that's any good that blatantly shows goal side to a striker like he has done time after time this season, an example of which can be found in the cup final.
I also think that Wilson can be better and maybe was lazy because of lack of competition for the spot and I hope he ups his game.

06 Jun 2016 08:59:03
Steven Taylor wants to join a championship club apparently. and tbh am no fussed if we don't get him he's not bad but lacks pace and he's injury prone.

06 Jun 2016 09:18:58
Aye, he's signing for hibs.

06 Jun 2016 10:25:05
Quality from Albertz 😁.

06 Jun 2016 10:47:19
If he was wanting to sign with a championship club then he would have accepted the 1 year deal he was offered at Newcastle.

06 Jun 2016 15:34:34
Rangers news must talk rubbish then.

06 Jun 2016 15:43:39
Evening times had said he wants to join another championship club. and he wasn't offered a deal by Newcastle he was released.

06 Jun 2016 17:40:22
Well other outlets are suggesting he's knocked back a years deal to see what's out there.

06 Jun 2016 20:46:06
A mate o mine is Newcastle fan and says Taylor was good about 5 yrs ago, but is well past his sell by date. He says the guy is simply not a good player and apart from being injury prone is a liability in defence. The last thing we need in an already shaky defence.

06 Jun 2016 08:57:25
Steven taylor? We would be better signing dennis taylor steven taylor is dreadfull . i know money is tight but surely we can pick up a better CB than him.

06 Jun 2016 08:45:23
Think Steven Taylor would be a great signing if he wasn't injury prone the thing is he will want a fairly hefty wage that think could be better spent on someone who isn't injury prone if that makes sense
First time poster folkes
Looking forward to the new season.
