I just in the interest of fairness have tried to get posts put up on the Selik banter page, seeing that our page is ful of them just wanted to see if their Ed was as accommodating as ours. But shock horror not a word was posted. Now I am a fair minded chap but the utter bile and p**h on there was outstanding. Best fans in the world my big blue A*S*. Not going back to their page again so can I kindly ask that they stay away from ours.

Wibblyblue.

ed do you think dundee utd could up the value of goodwillie if his charges are cleared?

{Ed010's Note -not a chance because no other team would ever do business with them ever again if they suddenly increased their valuation. If Dundee Utd had said that bids over £2m would be considered, that is a different matter but Dundee Utd have publically stated that £2m gets their man.

I have no rumours to tell you about but how good is it that we are back in the transfer market. I check out all the football websites daily to find out if we have signed anyone new or if another bear has extended his contract. We won the league in the 3 previous seasons without signing anyone major (except Jelavic) and loosing most of our best players. But now Ally has a small transfer kitty I think come the start of the season we will be in good shape with a few more signings and a few loans.

We welcome the chase

To the people that say all the bad things about David goodwillie, I met this guy loads at the gym I have been a member with for four years in Dundee I was surprised how a polite and sound guy he is really nice guy, he is never out in Dundee always Stirling or Glasgow give hd lad a chance he scored against all teams in spl so thing Boyd struggled to do goodwillie can score good goals.

Member he's young as well coisty n co will sort him out .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I don't know the guy personally but trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes. Maybe it's the crowd he runs around with, but one things for certain, if he comes to us he's gonna have to knuckle down big time.

Hi Ed010 just want to clarify one thing, I come on your site for some banter, I dish it up I expect to take it, but I have NEVER used bad language or words like w...s, it is YOUR lot using PROFANITY (bears look it up we junglejims learn it in our dole training courses) Some of your people are easier to wind up than others thats why we come on here for a LAUGH like you do at the pub, but I know where the line is and i do not cross it. Lets ALL have some funny clean banter Timalloy Emerald

Leave you with a smile ( a clean one)
Macgregor 6 years, whittaker 5 years, davis 5years,
Goodwillie TEN YEARS. Enjoy

{Ed010's Note -Timalloy, I totally agree that Celtic fans like yourself, Miko and others, do come on here with the sole intention of winding up Rangers fans. It is done in a well structed and adult manner, without the need to use profanities or name slanging. However let's be under no illusions here my friend, your group are in the minority. It was with that in mind, I did cut you some slack, allowing certain posts to be published, knowing full well that the desired reaction would arrive but I thought that the banter between the Rangers and Celtic fans, would be kept to the pages on which they appeared.

Unfortunately that hope was slightly naive because the ink wasn't even dry on the posts published on the Rangers pages but mirrors started appearing on the Celtic pages.

It was by using these mirrors, the battle plans were drawn for the next wave of attacks. The plans were discussed, the foot soldiers picked and the how thet were to be implement. Messages such as, belonging to a "fraternity" appeared, other messages of support, congratulatory messages and all sorts of back slapping, appeared as well.

I have no doubt that individual Rangers fans go to the Celtic pages and attempt to wind up the Celtic fans but I can assure you that those who do, do so as individuals and not as part of a pack. You will not find one thread or one message, on any Rangers page where these childish antics appear.

Timalloy, I will continue to follow the both my own and the owner's ideals in allowing Celtic fans to post their opinion and views but rest assured my friend, the "slack" that I referred to earlier, has well and truly been tightened. You may have tried to play me for a fool but I may be mant a thing but a fool, I ain't. Regards Ed10

It is not my intention to publish anything further in this closed thread.

why docent ally talk a look at possible signing of Luke varney , had a good season and is on the Market at about 900k

Believable2 Unbelievable3

He is not Rangers class that is why.

Agree2 Disagree0

If u r going like that then neither is ortiz pal theres no such thing as gers class anymore idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually Rangers class is bringing through our own players. And signing up and coming internationals, that we can sell on.And not piss ant championship level players such as Varney.Who never really did have a great season last year.I was the previous poster. And un like you pal.I believe in my teams size and stature and ambition. Its still here and has never went away. Its all about convincing the right players to come here and be winners. And giving them a chance at the champions league. There is so many players from all around the planet, that should be looked at.And not simple championship guys.It never done Celtic, much good last year did it?COMMONS, HOOPER, LEDLEY all failed to win the league. And they just came in for Wilson and Matthews. They should also know better. And get there scouting system right. And try and get players from Asia and Africa and even Austrailia and USA.There is talent everywhere.Glad we are bringing though our own players though.Even at the other clubs for Scotland.Wallace, Goodwillie, Davidson, Murphy, are all class acts.Plus they are all Scottish.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ortiz played in the worlds best league last year.Varney could 5 goals in EPL as a striker.Yes great season that was for him.He is not Rangers class and is very ordinary just like James Beattie.I hope that Ally, brings in more players from Spain. There the type of players that we need.If we are ever going to win the Europa league.Though we do not really want to be there in that second tier cup next season. One Glasgow team there is enough for the City. But we should try and qualify for the champions league first. Before we all get carried away.

Drum Bear

{Ed010's Note -Drum Bear, just spoke with the Liverpool Ed who confirms that the fee is actually £9m. I previously spoke with Ed002, who knows everything about everything at Blackpool and he told me that Rangers will get 20% of anything over £500k.

Quick move of the abacus, talks to himself, "20% of £8.5m", thats £1.7m

REF :

"Dont know if anyone else picked this up but just read the interview of the new man that signed and it is quoted on "Rangers website" that he is a friend of FUTURE LIGHT BLUE DEFENDER CARLOS CUELLAR

Its either telling us he in the post coming back or they have worded it very very incorrectly but to me they are dropping a massive hint that carlos on his way.

The next interview from the new man is saying carlos come and join me since you told me to come here ? Can someone else have a look at this and tell me there thoughts too, a think they know more than they are letting on

And on the Erimenko lad, quality player, watched him against the manky mob and he was outstanding, would be great bosman deal to get him, attacked minded midfielder, naisy cant do it all on his own ? Comments on both please"

Very happy Drum Bear

Juan Manuel Ortiz in the door and hopefully more to follow. Have to be honest and say i've not so much of this lad but i'll wait and see before casting any doubts.

The links to Roque Santa Cruz continue but I think its wishful thinking. His wages surely must be out of our bracket? For me anyway i'd much rather we focused on securing David Goodwillie. Its gone pretty cold lately but I think clubs are waiting on the outcome of his court case. If I were Ally McCoist and Goodwillie is the striker that is top of his list i'd be knocking on Mr Whyte's door telling him to get the deal done.

Defensively, if Harry Redknapp is telling the truth then Khumalo could be on the way from Spurs. Could be a good player to have but I think a player the Gers should go for is Cedric Mongongu of Monaco a young cb and could be worth a look? Or another possibility could be Liam Ridgewell a no-nonsense centre back underated for Birmingham.

Your thoughts Ed?

{Ed010's Note -I would be really surprised if Roque Santa Cruz were to arrive at Ibrox and even the remotest possibility of it happening, would have to include Man City paying about 80% of his wages. Forgetting all the backage that David Goodwillie is currently carrying, I would have him at Rangers in a heartbeat. He just reminds me so much of Ally McCoist when he was younger. McCoist was never a prolific marksmen when he first arrived at Rangers so the arguement about Goodwillie's goals to games ratio is really immaterial in my opinion.

Bongani Khumalo is a player that we expressed an interest in the past and he certainly played well enough for South Africa in the World Cup. Due to the number of defenders that Spurs already have, there may be the potential to make this one a permanent signing a year down the line, if he were to come and do a job for us.

When Monaco got relegated at the end of the last season, they have admitted to having to cut their cloth accordingly, so most players are for sale. Cedric Mongongu was a stand out for them last season but unfortunately it wasn't just yourself that spotted that. Only today, Blackburn Rovers have apparently tabled a bid for £2.6m, so at that kind of money, even if Ally was interested, he may be out of our reach.

Finally Liam Ridgewell is a target for West Brom with a fee of £3m being offered.

Whyte has given McCoist at least £5m to spend, the reason little money has been spent as yet is because Whyte is a businessman who looks to be prudent with everything he has. He wants to spend as little as he can to get a big return through players and wants his pieces of business to be shrewd. However, if Whyte feels the chances of a minuscule offer for a player being accepted are slim, he is willing to invest a tad heavier on one or two players, for the sake of his football team.
In the next few weeks expect Whyte to loosen his grip on his purse-strings with David Goodwillie being signed for the £2m demanded by Dundee United. Also expect another £2m to be spent on recapturing the services of Carlos Cuellar.
In terms of loanees, at least one of three centre-halves; Khumalo, Wilson and Bartley, will sign. Meanwhile, either Spurs' Jake Livermore or Chelsea's Gael Kakuta will join the club for the season.
Pedro Mendes and Mile Jedinak are both available for free and so McCoist is investigating the possibility of signing either. Contrary to belief, Alexei Eremenko has not been released by Metalist, they are looking for a fee in the region of £700k-£1m. McCoist is weighing up his options with regards to these midfield targets. Maurice Edu is interesting premiership outfits and therefore more money could become available. Also, if Adam signs for another team, the sell on clause would guarantee Rangers a fee of some description.
The fact that Whittaker and McGregor have signed huge contracts with wages in the region of £25k per week, that Andy Little and Salim Kerkar have been offered new deals and that new contracts for Davis and Weir are being negotiated shows that Whyte has money to spend.
The foundations of the Rangers squad are being built upon.

Lawwell has put Celtic back on a good financial footing, your biggest loss will be Bain he sailed your club through some stormy waters, he will be a big miss for you. Looking at sky sports re hutton and spurs they, ve offered Bolton 4 decent players and or money for cahill it seems that they want to cut down on their massive squad maybe if rangers took khumalo on loan they could pick him up cheap or even free at end of season .We looked at him last season and he seemed good enough then and from what I remember
he was good in the air which was why I thought he might be a good signing now or after a loan period and hoprfully his wage might not be a stumbling block.

Bears,

Just to start a discussion point, I think we are in a strong position for the new season, maintaining a team of title winners, signing key players on new deals and now we are looking to add more quantity and quality to the squad.

Looking over the city I am not worried, celtic have signed 2 defenders, 1 who is 19 and prob won't play, the other in Wilson has hardly kicked a ball for a year due to contract disputes. Craig Bellamy, although a good player the last time he was here when he was 25, is now 31 and clearly has dodgy knees which have limited his club and country apperances. In my opinion he is only going to get worse.

Come the hearts game I would be happy to see us line up with:
McGregor

Whitts Boogie ?? Papac

Ortiz Davis McCulloch Naismith

Jelly Lafferty

I leave the other centre half blank as I would love it to be Cuellar, but it could be Weir, Bartley, Broadfoot etc.

Lets see who we get in over the next couple of weeks, I have no fears though.

Ed been meaning to ask for ages; you said you used to be a poster on this site. What was your handle, before you were famous?

GovanFR

{Ed010's Note -Govan, I have to admit that I was more of a reader than a poster but whenever I had something to add, it invariably got binned. On the odd occasion that I did manage to get my post published, I used no handle, which in hindsight was the wrong thing to do.

Change of subject : how did you come by this Rangers site ? I was actually looking for some information on Rangers to send to a relation in Canada, when Mr Google found it for me.

Before I became an Ed, I used to pass on the address to friends and family, as well as fans who sat around me in the Copland Stand. Since I started editing, I have told no one that I am doing it, not even my friends and family.

So as you can see Govan, I am hardly famous, more anonymous and mysterious and I like that way.

I found it last Summer when I was looking to try and find out who we were going to sign. I was just 'Googling' Rangers Rumours and came across this site, although back then it was just one big site for all football rumours. It's come a long way lol.

Govan Fr, you are spot on about the growth my friend. I used to hate having to scroll through scores amd scores of rumours just to get to one about Rangers. Thankfully that changed and it is obviously much easier now. The Rangers pages are now the third busiest in the football rumours family and it is steadily growing. It is very near a full time job but I don't really mind, I've got plenty of time on my hands. The last that I heard, the football rumours family receives around 350k "hits" a day and that is increasing by thousands each day. Maybe the site owner will start to pay me if it continues at this rate or second thoughts, just forget that, there's not a hope. lol
