Regarding the Kyle lafferty suggesting his girlfriend is from Glasgow prob just visiting, we are looking to build on young players with potential but I do agree he would do a job in my opinen I would just like to move on from players that have been before.

06 Jan 2016 21:43:00
I don't know why this holt or the other southern Irish guy are getting worked up over rangers approach to these young guys greetin about development fees. Windass has been there 2 seasons and crooks signed last season! The way they've been banging on I thought they had been there since youngsters. English teams have been plucking our players for years and not paying the going rates!
Anyway welcome to the club fella's and I'm sure we'll have a cracking team in the seasons ahead.

06 Jan 2016 22:50:01
If it had been the that east enders they would have been delerious . Get over it guys.

07 Jan 2016 11:19:22
I don't recall much getting said when celtic took ledley and Matthews from Cardiff for nowt.

06 Jan 2016 20:48:21
Welcome Josh and Matt, you are joining a fantastic club, do your best and we will support you all the way. you have a fantastic future ahead and we are delighted you signed. you will not regret it guys.

Well said safetyman.
I'm taking my 11 year old daughter to her first game on Sunday. She is a big Waggy fan. Hope he sticks two or three away for her. That would make her day.
Looking forward to the game. Let's put Cowdenbeath away and bag a premier league team in the next round. I'd be confident playing anybody at home. I've got a good feeling about the rest of the season. There's real hope again after so long in the wilderness.

07 Jan 2016 17:02:28
Really have that much confidence after the last time we played a prem team?

Hopefully the team learned from the last time.

07 Jan 2016 21:27:54
I think we got St Johnstone as they turned their season around. Remember they beat the sheep 5-1 just after the match at Ibrox, during which btw everything seemed to go in for them on the night. Conversely O'Halloran goes through one on one with Craig Gordon 3 times and misses every one. The game is about fine margins.
Let me turn it around and ask you why the current side with another addition or two (remember it is only the 7th January) could not compete with a top flight side. Are we really a million miles away? The sheer negativity on this site from some posters really pissed me off at times. Couldn't believe it when I read posts of this is rubbish and MW has to go when we went 1-0 down to Hibs. Some people really need to get a grip. Given a choice of last season and this season I know where I want to be.

06 Jan 2016 20:18:19
Rangers website confirming Windass and Crooks sign 4 year deals and will sign in summer.

06 Jan 2016 17:48:47
Evening fellow gers. All I keep reading about is the negativity surrounding signing guys from Accrington Stanley and Doncaster but we have to be realistic here, bringing in guys from all over Europe got us in big trouble and put us where we are effectively and all I have to say to the doubted is. Jamie vardy, rayid mahrez, dele Ali, Chris smalling to name but a few.

All of these guys were playing about in the lower leagues (OK, mahrez was lower league in France) but look at them now all of these guys are rated at 20 mill upwards. Ok so maybe our guys won't reach these heights but we have got to give it a try and see what gems we can unearth.

Let's not be negative about the signings and try and put a positive spin on this because the laudrop, gazza, numan, arteta days are long gone and will not be back for the foreseeable future.

06 Jan 2016 19:18:29
Ed. or fellow bears, question. what's the news on 5 million loan. i see mike still got property rites? what's going on? by all accounts its paid, so what gives.

06 Jan 2016 18:08:39
Does anyone think we've acted a bit shabbily re approaching the 2 AC boys without informing their club? I know we've acted within FIFA guidelines and are entitled to approach them, but its regarded as common courtesy to inform the club I understand. I personally think business is business but don't want this Holt bad mouthing us and painting us in a bad light to other teams. I don't think it would be Warbs way of conducting business but wouldn't be down to him anyway.

{Ed039's Note - It is a courtesy but I don't know about common, sour grapes from the Stanley chairman, had plenty of opportunites to tie the boys down to new deals and didn't do it)

06 Jan 2016 19:52:09
When a player is within 6 months of his contract expiring then he/his agent is free to contact clubs to negotiate a bosman move. His current club has no involvement in this so why do they need to informed at all? Had we been looking to buy the players because they had more than 6 months left then I would expect Rangers to contact their club before speaking to them or their agents as that would be classed as tapping up.

06 Jan 2016 19:54:23
They contacted there secretary first, he's just talking things up forđź’°đź’°đź’°.

06 Jan 2016 19:30:44
How many times have english clubs done this to scottish teams for their best talent and nothing is mentioned about it so i think its a bit out of order of the A C chairman to be slating rangers for their conduct if he is so desperate to keep them offer them better deals its clear these lads want to leave so let them go at a price that suits both parties and move on its just sour grapes imo.

07 Jan 2016 01:53:23
Sour grapes from the guy holt at stanley. I understand that he might be frustrated but to question the way we do our buisness when we have acted in accordance with fifa regs is really nothing more than toys being chucked out the pram and says more about the guys character than it does us.

06 Jan 2016 15:29:34
Does anybody know what happened to the young Dutch striker we have supposed to have signed, Tarik Fagrach? Ajax had been sniffing about him but didn't want to take him because of his reputation. He was booted out of Feyenoords academy for bad behaviour and was even alleged to have punched the manager! I read a while back that he had been offered a 3 year deal here. No trace of him on Gers website but he is listed on other sites as being a Rangers player?

{Ed039's Note - Usually a pretty reliable source, but I honestly don't know - http://tinyurl.com/gwygsjl )

06 Jan 2016 15:41:25
I've been wondering about that too! Not seen him on any u20 or u17 team sheets the past couple months.

06 Jan 2016 17:09:40
He put the nut on Warbs at Auchenhowie I heard.

06 Jan 2016 17:57:48
I'm positive he signed for rangers round about the start of December.

07 Jan 2016 08:34:36
I'm sure you are right . Was it not a 3 year deal signed? Is it possible he couldn't join properly until January?

06 Jan 2016 13:13:18
All this about these two guys being signed for next season. I think W&W have done nothing but good things this term.

The way I see it look who they have brought in so far. Not many people on here can say they knew all of them players ( true ) and look so far what that have done. ( Trav ) a right back but can score goals. ( waggy ) scoring for fun. ( Foder ) not the best keeper but can do a job. ( the boys on loan ) been great so far. So what's the difference with the two boys W&W are trying to bring in. Is it because they play for a lower league team?

I think all the fans on this should be grateful we still have a team and we are in winning ways!

Thoughts guys?

06 Jan 2016 14:50:37
How do you think these players would do in the premiership?

06 Jan 2016 15:28:13
The Division they currently play in is higher than what most players in the Scottish prem ever played down south. They are young lads too! Bring them in, I bet in 3 years time Windass will be a player we will struggle to keep a hold of.

06 Jan 2016 16:01:42
If I was a betting man which I am. I would wager that the 2 guys from Accrington and forrester will do well in the spl. In my opinion most of the players are English 1 and 2 league standards is that a fair point ed?

{Ed039's Note - I think that's more than fair enough, considering most Championship sides can out muscle Scottish clubs in finance and the talent currently in the Scottish Prem there are plenty of players more than capable of enhancing the teams up here, its a sign of the times I am afraid)

06 Jan 2016 14:02:49
The Scottish prem is filled with players from down south lower leagues and not the best players from these clubs I am fully behind warbs and his plan and a big thanks to the board we have come so far since the summer and can't wait for the next game . waggy and tavs will be in the team of the year and were dead wood at Wigan what a differences 6 months makes.

06 Jan 2016 14:56:30
Agree with you totally damo666. If we had been as prudent and intelligent when we first got demoted as we are being now we would be in the top flight challenging this year. However, it will be worth the wait, still pinching myself that we managed to get Warburton and Weir in. They and the staff they have brought in are a perfect fit for our club.
Can honestly say the atmosphere at games is as good or better than at anytime I've been to see the Gers.
To finally have a young, exciting, attacking team with no big money mercenaries left to suck us dry is a breath of fresh air. I think even when Warburton does leave for bigger things (hopefully in many years to come) Weir will be ready to step up. And he WILL stick about for the long haul, and could go onto build a dynasty like Smith did. And Celtic have Deila, I know who I would rather have anyway.

06 Jan 2016 11:25:43
See that there is a bit of unrest with some supporters about signing boys from Accrington and Doncaster.

You need to try and understand the bigger picture, its not about the player its about the lean squad.

W&W would rather have a good young hungry player with something to prove, that they can turn into the finished article, that fits the rangers way, the team, the method the squad.

They are more concerned that the players fits in as a cog in the machine that will hopefully rampage the rest of this season and with 2 steady centre backs and a steady keeper next season can hopefully do real damage in the premiership and gulf the so called gap between us and the manky mob.

I would be more concerned if the Machine that we were watching was not working and less worried about the cogs that is brought in!

06 Jan 2016 12:59:20
M3 - I agree mostly.

However, I feel that Wes is a quality keeper, he's made many class saves to keep us in games or save us points. He's still very young for a keeper and MW wants him to play from the back, this is classed as risky by many fans but its the best way for Rangers to play.

I agree about the two CB's I definitely think Kiernan is the stronger between them, however the shakiness of our CB's also is down to how far our full backs push up the pitch. I honestly think to sign a CB suitable for essentially playing two at the back will cost quite a bit sadly.

06 Jan 2016 10:06:39
I can't believe the amount of flak that's flying about regarding us signing players from Accrington Stanley. W&W have barely put a foot wrong so far in the transfer market yet still this isn't good enough for some people on here. We all know we have to be able to compete next year once we get promoted and I'm more than sure our management team are also aware of this demand. They are also aware we must get automatic promotion! If windass as reported was supposedly good enough for Arsenal to at least have a look at then I'm more than positive he will be good enough to cope with the Scottish Premiership!

06 Jan 2016 11:44:25
All new signings should be given a chance in the team before being judged however I can see the point some are trying to make and their fears about not being able to compete next season. It will be interesting to hear people's views on what they think we can achieve next season should we go up and what the expectations would be.

06 Jan 2016 12:04:34
Totally agree if we had signed vardy or dele alli people would not be happy and both players could play for England in the summer . we have to sign players that could make us millions in the future, its business suicide to pay crazy money for players right now.

06 Jan 2016 12:20:01
What flack? Most feed-back has been positive. I can't speak for everyone but my pals are happy about them signing. Its a no brainer for up here, two talented boys like that for buttons could run amok and make us a few bucks in 2 years. This is the way forward. I think they'll do really well too juanpacer.

06 Jan 2016 10:31:00
Im sure leicester fans said same about james vardy, oh its only fleetwood town and look how that's panned out. there are good players to be had at lower leagues. every player has to start somewhere and let's hope we unearth a couple of good players in crooks and windass.

06 Jan 2016 08:55:06
Does anyone know if stevie may is getting his game for pne? He was the one I wanted us to sign in the summer.

06 Jan 2016 09:23:25
Stevie may is rank rotten, I hope we have our sights set for a better standard of player than that dumpling. I would take, Sow, Malanga, Baird, Cummings before him any day personally. Warbs will pick out a we gem fae down south, someone who is young, fit, strong, and who will do the damage. We need a Durie type player.

06 Jan 2016 09:47:52
Stevie Mays goalscoring record speaks for itself especially for a guy who played a lot of games out wide. Although I think he got a bad injury and is our for a while is he not?

06 Jan 2016 11:15:02
As far as I was aware he is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

06 Jan 2016 08:46:34
Kevin Nolan, Sone Aluko, Crooks and Windass are the 4 signings i'd like to see brought in.

06 Jan 2016 09:15:09
I would hate to see Nolan or Aluko at Ibrox. Nolan is too old and would be asking for plenty of dosh. The money would be better kept for a younger player who has his best years ahead of him. We don't want to be dishing our big wages for someone who's on his way out. We can get better players than Aluko for half the wages anawl.

06 Jan 2016 09:22:37
Think Aluko's wages would be far too much for us to pay.

06 Jan 2016 09:48:25
Aluko would be a great signing, a real entertainer.

06 Jan 2016 10:13:25
I would take kevin nolan at ibrox in a heartbeat! After all we were desperate to sign john eustace who was almost 37 years old whereas nolan is 4 years younger at 33 years old and we'd get at least a good 3 years out of him, there's one thing for sure you wouldn't out muscle nolan, he's solid and a really good midfielder, would be perfect at 33years old in the defensive mid holding role.

06 Jan 2016 13:36:04
Isn't he an attacking mid?

06 Jan 2016 08:43:58
Here's one I've been thinking about and would like to gauge the feeling out there on this one, as we all know we've got a very good relationship with the arsenal since warburton became our manager and I would use that to try and sign mikel arteta on an original loan deal until the end of the season and then a permanent deal in the summer as he's out of contract and its not getting renewed by the gunners, I would love arteta in the defensive midfield holding role which would suit him to a tee especially as he's now getting on a bit in his career, just like we were going to offer john eustace I would offer a midfield coaching role as well, what do we think bears?

06 Jan 2016 10:00:37
I think that would be ideal if we could do it but his wages would currently be astronomical! I also very much doubt Arsenal would still pay most his wages considering their current injury problems.

06 Jan 2016 12:11:01
WB15

whilst I understand the desire to have a player like Arteta in our ranks I feel he doesn't possess enough steel or pace to cover our central defence.
We need a Souness/Gattusso more than an Arteta!
