A lot of talk of figurheads and boycotts etc like it's a complicated thing. Here's an idea, just be yer own man/woman and dinnae go. Seriously?! How difficult is it for folk to make their own decisions without needing someone to hold their hand?

sos got a petition on the go get it signed fellow bears details on there fb page

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've signed it. Force them out

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 19:49:00
Right I just don't get it! Surely as fans we must do everything to get rid off this board! I see the comments below about a boycott I agree totally. If only we had a figurehead who would unite all fans and help us force change!

Step forward Walter your (club) fans need you now!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2015 20:38:11
Much as he divides fans, Craig Houston and his group seem to be a thorn in the side of the board. Saying that we don't need a figurehead just word of mouth and it could happen

Agree0 Disagree0

What do some people want we have king and the three bears buying shares (albeit late in the day)they are trying to get rid of ashley and some people want to boycott the hearts game who I think are still catchable a victory would bring it down to ten hearts will defo have injury and suspensions and will allso hit a form stagger and we have support who want to lock everyone out sounds like the lunatics have taken over the asylum the boycott should be ended not ramped up

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 21:45:34
@2 playing as we have done we don't stand a chance against hearts it will be another embarrassing result. As for a boycott if it gets the cronies out of our club then I am more than happy to do it and I would go as far as saying another year in the championship as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot to say macoist away to what do some people want

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 22:10:41
hearts are out of rangers reach forgot it boycott should be stopped your having a laugh mate can I ask what your plan is to get rid off the board people need to understand the board will not move on until people stop giving them money we should be doing everything in our power to rid us off this board let the team take care of football matters and we the fans and people who want the best for rangers football club will fight the board if people are happy supporting the board that is there choice and I respect it boycott ain't started yet just people wising up

Agree0 Disagree0

Too true we should be concentrating on the team boycotts are doing nothing the board know we want them out they are just laughing at us so let's get out there and get behind our team on the park

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigwull come on man grow a brain no one Is concerned with catching hearts at the moment keeping our club alive has got to be priority the that are in control would love a full house the time for talking is over actions speak louder than any words and hitting these crooks in their pockets is the only way to make them realise that we have had enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Azzlee if no one is bothered about catching hearts we might as well let gers go same way as third lanark every bear should want to catch hearts shame on u

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigwull I didn't say I'm not bothered just that's it's not my main concern getting rid of the current regime is. Shame on you for putting footballing matters above the survival of our great club

Agree0 Disagree0

Craigs8688 your line of thinking does not stack your not keeping money from the board your keeping the club from paying bills and forcing it to beg borrow and steal which if the club has to repay to who ever this will take more funds away from club and maybe at best the club survive as a mediocre champioship club or at worst defunct this is entirely possible the way things are going

{Ed001's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Rangers reject Sarver takeover bid

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2015 10:55:36
think its time to get a protest outside ibrox like man utds one years ago. these people are going to drag us through a lot more unless we take action and force them out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Here here

Agree0 Disagree0

So where do you want us mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 13:06:16
Hard as it sounds a full boycott of the next home league game or even a half time walk out to protest right outside the front doors. Let them know exactly how we all feel. Enough is enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 13:21:20
yep major protest should be arranged for hearts game outside ibrox no good sitting in our houses time for action the board saying it most likeley the will get more loans and saying american undervalued the club are they having a laugh the clearly want to hing onto there cash cow

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 15:40:22
Hello people new to this site, how do we arrange this boycott outside ibrox then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree enough is enough. what a shambles i'd rather start anew than allow these robbers to own our great club. Fan power and boycotts,, not just Ibrox the SFA also they are sitting watching this farce.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 15:53:55
@5 simple don't go inside and spread the word. Social media is a great thing! There will be the support the team not the regime shouts but sad as it is buying a ticket is just filling those spivs pockets, incidentally how much is Barry leech being paid for his services? Also why is Ashley given so much say when he only owns 9 per cent, dave king just bought 15. who actually runs our club now??

Agree0 Disagree0

Yip I agree protest/boycott a must now as I know Ashley's next move will be a 5-6 million loan secured against MP which will be approved by the Finance Director & the Sleasdales whom as we now know are Ashleys puppets!

Agree0 Disagree0

Boycotting will only make things worse as it only starves them of cash. If you want the current board out, you need to purchase their shares.

Agree0 Disagree0

@fly fifer. How can you buy there shares when they won't sell! They are only after our cash starve the cash drive them out or make them sell they ain't just going to sell up & anyone who thinks that are in a different planet. Look properly into Ashley, Sleasedales etc only after cash!!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 20:12:17
Can anybody tell me what the end game is to all this is farcical pantomime, are the board trying to just stumble us into the top league and get us by on paltry loans while fleecing us along the way then when we eventually get back up will they be wanting a huge amount of money to sell us on,because this American guy seemed legit,I've really had enough of this shambles now, I'm now coming round to the boycotting idea I hope we can get something organised for the Hearts game I like the idea of walking out at halftime and standing outside the main doors to wait for these spivs and give them pelters. we need to know what's happening to our club enough is enough now ,we are a laughing stock because of these as@hol*s

Agree0 Disagree0

@11. a laughing stock. aye they will be standing at the windows laughing at you. do you think they give a damn if you walk out at half time. you have already paid to get in. they have your money, so bye bye, stand and shout for a wee while then go home. nothings changed, come again next week like good wee boys and give us more of your money. gary

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking about a protest on a website were there aren't as many fans as there are out there isn't working to its full potential. Set a significant date, make an event on Facebook to catch the eyes of hundreds more Rangers fans old and young and maybe by that time more people will get behind the idea!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree 100% about having a boycott, but walking out at half time isn't the answer, it's got to be a full on boycott with no one entering the stadium, that way the rats don't get a penny from us, as soton bear said a few day's ago let's all stand united and sing our hearts out from the pavements.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like your idea copland front. Enough is enough, its time they gave us our club back.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 21:55:32
Yeah think just about everyone on here tonight is in agreement for a change. Its clear cut the time has come to stop the hurt, get off our arses and finally do something about the situation that cannot be ignored.

To my mind it's simple, this Ashley character is motivated by money alone so the best thing we can do as ordinary punters is to demonstrate that we are not going to generate money for him.

A blanket boycott first starting immediately ( enter sons of struth) organised and motivated like a picket line at the turnstiles if that's what it takes.

Next a mass and I emphasise mass protest outside the front door again organised but very very vocal.

And finally we all need the strength of character to keep it up week after week after week till We achieve what we all crave so much. Please don't anybody come on here and say we would be cutting our own throats because surely we are at the stage of anything is better than this?

how can a board state that a club that was purchased for £5.5 million who has had all investment sucked out of it and who is teetering on the edge of financial meltdown be worth more than 18 Million for god sake. this guy wants to buy a controlling interest in the club for 18 million not the entire club.

according to bbc sport the board stated that "Rangers revealed that his plan for the Glasgow club involved buying 100 million shares at 18p per share - below the current share price of 26p. " I say we should try and drive down the share price to see what other excuse the board will come out with to keep power.

whats clearly happening here is these faceless institutional share holders don't want to release new shares which would mean the money paid for any new shares would go directly to the club they want people like this American king and the the three bears to buy their shares so the money goes straight to them.

Enough is Enough

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks like neither Ashley or King and the 3 Bears interested in the offer.

This is a strange one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we need someone to come out be it king or park and give us a bit of guidance on what our next move is. the statement regarding Mr sarver from these poultices is incredible. we are floundering from one week to another, and this guy offers them an escape route which they refuse. I am getting really worried now that Ashley will give 5/6 million quid as a loan till the end of the season getting ibrox as security. we have to move now. also how the f€%# did that board get voted back in at the agm. I think what we need now is "the equaliser"

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 15:28:00
Need more than the equalizer to get this sorted.Old Woodward snuffed it,and Denzil is unavailable the noo.

Agree0 Disagree0

What worries me is if Fifa cannot get rid of sep blatter with his shenanigans, what chance have we got getting rid of the that lot

Fellow Bears

We all seem to be forgetting that Mr King bought a percentage of River Mercantiles shares in his last purchase so their holding will be smaller, but more importantly Mr King has dealt with them already and could again if necessary. This man isn't daft folkes he has probably just bought enough to tip the scales and if River Mercantile sold to King it means that they aaren't in the sleasedale/Ashley camp.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

RM Gers, think your wrong there, I think R&M still hold 7%

we know 3bears and king now hold 34%

looks to me like
Laxey sold 16. 32
Artemis sold 9. 95
Milton sold 4. 98

that's 31. 25, George Taylor already held 3. 2 that's 34. 45%

you are right about one thing those, those are crucial shares and crucial votes at any EGM

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes JG you are correct mate I just checked but the two groups ain't daft they will know who will vote with them n I think if they needed more the would buy them, I don't think anyone except our current or previous board members spend 5 million without a strategy.

Agree0 Disagree0

RM - nope, I was wrong after all, I have just seen R&M's 8. 3 disclosure form on which they claim to hold 4, 704, 827 shares of 5. 7%

keiron prior has also made his disclosure and holds about 1. 3%

I think that all shareholders who hold over 1% of shares must now make this disclosure as part of the takeover rules

Could be some interesting names cropping up in the next few days

keep an eye on RIFC page on londonstockexchange. com

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm on it all the time hopefully we get some long awaited good news mate, cheers

Mike Ashley now under pressure to give up advertising deal with Oldham over the Ched Evans issue. If the public are targetting Sports Direct will this have a knock on effect for Rangers? If he continues to support the deal would that make anyone connected to Sports Direct a target? I imagine if he did continue his support then people will automatically target Rangers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2015 09:37:25
Pure paranoia mate.Oldham can sign that nuggit if they want, why would it affect us?You are looking for problems that aren't there. What's next,if you shop in SD you're a beast?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree totally gkk, Ashley is a business man and will make decisions on a commercial basis with no sentiment.
As far as I am concerned there are far worse criminals re-introduced into society and given a new identity, with all the trimmings, at what cost to the taxpayer.
Evans will be lucky to find a club and will have to get by with this monkey on his back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - are we meant to feel sorry for the vile piece of rubbish? Perhaps we should remember he was not the victim in this, but the perpetrator and he brought it on himself....}

06 Jan 2015 11:24:05
ED : .I don't condone for one second what he done.I have 1 daughter and 4 granddaughters, enough said.I only said if Oldham want him it won't affect us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was replying to billyb's ludicrous 'monkey on his back' comment.}

Ed. ] I am not stating a case for Evans, just a simple statement about where he stands. So in your opinion he is not fit for employment anywhere. In my opinion he has committed a despicable crime, but a line must be drawn somewhere or just put the leper sign on him and make him carry a bell.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why must a line be drawn somewhere? And you do realise the bell was not to enable people to run away but to call them as people used to help lepers. It was only in more recent times that lepers became judged as cursed.}

06 Jan 2015 08:33:55
The 'rangers board' reject 18 million takeover bid as it undervalues the company!and then in the same statement say they require funding by the end of January through further loans, I wonder who might do that?? More family silver about to be given away, the stadium or Murray park, over to you mike what do you fancy next!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Amazed that the Board think £18m is under-valuing a company which lurches from one crisis to the next and appears to manage the cash flow on a day to day basis by having a whip round in the Boardroom!

Ashley needs to reveal his hand now. he won't allow Club to go bust again as that would jeapordise his retail deals.

I suspect he wants to go to SFA and tell them he is the only option for funding. so SFA either have to allow him to increase his stakes in club or RIFC fold.

Things will get worse! By end of season. MASH will have a firm grip on Car Park, Murray Park and Ibrox.

None of us have a clue of his intentions for the club. fans groups need to unite as one body, rather than all the seperate groups and face the board and Ashley head on.

Without us. there is no club!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 10:13:06
Total agreement stuart64 I was beginning to think there was light at the end of the tunnel with King, the three bears and now this american bloke showing an interest in Rangers but know its darker than ever all this board are concerned about is their own prestige and anyone who thinks different is deluded I was looking forward to ending my self imposed exile from ibrox soon but that once again is on hold you are right about all the supporter groups uniting but just like the board they are more preoccupied with self preservation. I personally will not set foot in ibrox nor buy one item of merchandise until this lot are gone and this comes from a father of 3 grandfather of 7 who year after year spent thousands on myself and my family for birthdays and xmas presents all Rangers merchandise. we need to starve this lot out now I know it will hurt the club in the short term but it will be better in the long term. its like going to the dentist and having 5 rotten teeth pulled it hurts like hell at the time but once the hurt goes away you wished you had done it sooner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on guys, saying people have their heads in the sand is getting rather personal. Ashley holds the aces. It's impossible to starve him out, too much money. Taking the jewels will be his next step. If fans do not support his vision then he will just wind up the Company, take the jewels and redevelop. It's a business win win situation. That's worth a lot more than the retail. If that's what you want then that's what you promote.

Surely we all want a better Rangers. Ashley will say I wanted to take Rangers into Europe and the fans went against me. Rangers no more.

On the other hand Ashley or Lambias must reveal their vision of a future Rangers if they want to embrace the fans, in order that the fans can decide their own direction. Sarver already did this to some extent yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart64 - even more amazing that 18m was his offer for only 55% of the company in the from of 100,000,000 new shares,
that's money that would go straight into to squaring off debts and starting to rebuild the club and the team

He also offered another 14.5m on top of that to buy out all other shareholders

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

JG. the offer by Sarver is for shares, every penny would go to the shareholders and not as capital to the club to run the day to day business of paying wages, texes, etc.

But at least he sounded like he had some sort of plan once he got control.

Somers, the Bus Boys and Ashley's minnions appear devoid of any solution to the cash crisis other than to borrow and continue borrowing. at the expense of the family silver.

I think Ashley will continue bailing us out until such time as he has all the assets (Ibrox, Murray Park, etc) and also the rites to the badge.

He can then take the money from Sarver, King or whoever for his shares and allow then to take over a club without a stadium, training facility, etc and lease it all back at extortionate rates.

I feel an AFC Wimbledon or an FC Manchester situation beckoning!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 13:28:30
Tommie you say its impossible to starve them out this is easily achievable if the fans start to unite and all the fans groups do the same

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart. The first 18 million is for 100 million new shares so that is money that would go into the club. He would then have to offer to buy out all the other shareholders at the same price. That is all in his offer. The board says that they don't believe 75% of the shareholders will accept, so the offer is rejected. That was one way to get 18 million into our club!

Agree0 Disagree0

This really looks like crunch time with Ashley having to show more of his many cards after the SFA rebuff. We can be sure he will do something to circumvent the 10% limit but what? Wait a minute, if he can get some Patsy to buy heavily that might work. Long term there must be a company out there who would produce red & black strips with say the Govan High School badge on it. We would all know what it was.
In any case time is now critical and in my view, three things need to happen without delay if we are to get back on track.
1) The SFA rules not only limit shareholding to a maximum of 10% but do not permit influence over the Club’s business. What are they going to do regarding him setting up and controlling the Board in return for a £3M loan while the same Board refuse all offers of better financial assistance. The SFA must be aware that (other than this season), Rangers contribute approximately 50% of the paid attendance at all matches in Scotland. They need the fans back.
2) The new Shareholders must put all the pressure they can on the Board with a view to replacing all or most of them. If they could also do something to repay Ashley’s loans that would be icing on the cake.
3) However the key to completing the attempted break through lies with us. We all know how important pride and confidence is in making a team successful. What is needed is for fan fragmentation to be reversed and the various groups, each claiming to be the REAL Rangers supporters get real and rejoin the Rangers Fans. Fans stick with their team through thick & thin and this has not been happening.
What needs to happen is for our Support to be bigger than the home team’s at away matches and for 45,000 to be again cheering and egging on the team at Ibrox. Cheering every decent pass or tackle and getting behind them. There is a fair bit of talent there and we need them to feel proud to show it. That is the quickest and cheapest way of getting a team that, even if they don’t catch Hearts, will confidently get through the play offs. It will also bring in enough funds to cover costs and reduce or eliminate the need for Ashley, s petty cash with all it conditions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry you are 100% wrong giving them any more money is insane starving them out is the only answer

redsox555

Another of the head in the sand brigade. We cannot give these rats another penny. The fact that they are knocking equerry sensible offer back and stating " thanks but no thanks, but if you want you can give us your money and we will look after it, after all we have done a great job over the last couple of years with not wasting money. haven't we?) Why anyone could possibly think that by spending money in or going to Ibrox is absolutely beyond me. NOT A PENNY MORE. NO TICKETS NO PIES NO PROGRAMMES NO MERCHANDISE EVERYONE CANCEL THE RTV SUBSCRIPTION ETC ETC ETC Mike Ashley is the playground bully and you guys are still advocating just go and give him your sweeties??? c'mon wake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agree - only way to get rid is to start them out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Down at Newcastle recently, I can tell you, they despise Mike Ashley, as they say he, s only there to line his own pockets, as one told me look around the stadium, (sports direct), and wonga. com, wouldn't surprise me if he was a major shareholder with them as well, not to be trusted
