Not a great result yesterday but not a disaster. We are 17 points clear. However we had a whole second half against 10 men and had enough possession to create enough chances before the 87th minute. I question the midfield selection three centre mids two of them defensive and a striker. Ally should play this midfield four McKay, MacLeod, Hutton, Templeton. With width and Shiels or Little partnering McCulloch upfront. We need to use the ball better cmon Ally! GowdyWATP54

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Don't know why McCoist keeps putting Little wide when it's clear to everyone that he isn't a winger. He is wasted in that position. Also why keep playing 1 up front? McCoists tactics are bizarre and the sooner he goes the better

Agree14 Disagree7

Totally agree .Shiels and Little upfront with Jig to play at C.B

What are you thought guys..obviously you will not be out in the wilderness forever and really in footballing years, it will be short term.

The Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League are close to finalising a compromise agreement between their respective reconstruction plans.

The deal is likely to lead to the four current divisions being rearranged into a 12-12-18 set-up, with a fairer distribution of the money generated by the top clubs.

Details of the agreement have still to be sealed, but it will also lead to the two league bodies merging into one, which is likely to be called the Scottish Professional Football League.

1. A fairer distribution of money - what does this mean exactly ?

2. Why no fan input ?

3. If this is implimented in time for next season, it will mean the results of SFL3 are meaningless ?

4. Why is Campbell Ogilive still in office when he owes RFC over £90k in an unpaid loan & his position is compromised ?

5. Will there be play-off's, how will they work ?

6. What are the clear benefits of this system ?

7. Hearing rumours of a 2 x 12 team Austrian model league with an 8/8/8 split which nearly destroyed Austrian football

8. If 2 teams are promoted from the 1st div, will they be prepared for the top division to compete at that level. Seated stadiums etc

I could go on & on.

Out game needs CASH, MONEY, FINANCE & serious investment at grassroot level will this reconstruction bring that..I don't think so.

Believable23 Unbelievable8

The biggest flaw is your point about Campbell Ogilve. He doesn't owe RFC any money.

There are two things wrong with this statement, firstly EBT loans may never be required to be paid back, it's the nature of the loan that it is for an indefinite period of time. So he doesn't OWE anything.

Secondly, the reference to owe's Rangers. Rangers did not administer an EBT the loan is paid by a trust which in this case is on the Isle of Man, people clearly don't get the fact that EBTs are paid by a trust not Rangers. Had it been by Rangers then it would have been illegal but a first tier tax tribunal recently ruled that Rangers did nothing wrong.

It amazes me how people still don't understand EBTs after all this time.

Agree15 Disagree16

Ogilvie DOES owe the money to the trust or his sub trust.
The repayment period is not defined which is an argument for it not being a loan but a payment (which we all know it is).
The money going into the trust was from Rangers.
The FTTT decision was split. HMRC are rightfully looking at appealing that erroneous decision.
Ogilvie was paid rangers money offshore tax free.

Agree18 Disagree13

New split 8-8-8 means gers could be in div2 next season, and playing spl teams (in the 2nd 8 split the year top div1/bottom spl) - one year early

So all plans are to assist rangers back to top flight - nothing else.

Agree6 Disagree6

Split 2 to 1 in Rangers favour and an appeal is just going to waste more tax payers money. hmrc won't get a penny more if they appeal and it's highly unlikely an appeal would be successful

Agree5 Disagree7

Was his ebt declared illegal?or are his toes with rangers enough for demands of resignations

Agree2 Disagree5

Its irrelevant if its to 'help'..we'll be left with this long term!

Agree0 Disagree0

No they could'nt . rangers would be in third division of 18 teams . the first two lots of 8 would be top 8 in spl, the 2nd 8 would be bottom 4 from spl and top 4 from 1st division . the last 8 would be 1st division . so no chance .. the new set up proposal is two leagues of 12 and one 18 . at earliest 2015 before rangers play that level. shammy

Agree8 Disagree0

Op - got some time on my hands so here goes

1, it means exactly what it says on the tin, money will be distributed more evenly between all scottish clubs and not just the top clubs

2, look what happened the last time we had fan input, they tried to kill the biggest team in the country

3 no it will be our 55th domestic title

4, he owes rangers a big fat 0

5, who knows, ask liewell what he wants on that one

6, its obvious, the top football brains see a radical reconstruction and change from a 12 team top league to a, eh, em, 12 team top league, what benefits don't you see in that

7, could be rumours from the same source as ticketus, bdo taking back ibrox etc etc therfore probably cr@p and the split we have right now is ridiculous

8. No they wont, unless they have a bigger share of the cash (see answer 1), dundee are a good example

@8: do lower league titles count too? In that case Liverpool have won more titles than Man Utd. But you don't see them claiming that...

06 Jan 2013 18:11:52
Just a question, with no bitterness or obsession that is your typical answer . Hearing what green and ally has said about a winter break, does it worrie yous that your own leaders don't know the rules and ins and outs of the league you play in? And why do they demand the or think whatever happens with Celtic should be the same for yous? Honest opinion is that I think they are trying to stay in some sort of light no matter if it's thru winning or morse so shouting out how everyone is still having a kick at yous. Don't they know every other club in div 3 dosent get a break and that there are other clubs plaing in div3?

Believable26 Unbelievable17

You won't get an honest opinion mate!! 95% of The Rangers supporters will see it as a dig...

Agree19 Disagree8

If I were a supporter I would be very worried and ashamed. How can ppl be having a kick at them if every club in that league has the same rules? And if that is having a kick then what is with all the red cards going to the other clubs, seems like it is regular thing for yous.

Agree10 Disagree9

If you actually listened to the pre-match interview you would know that Ally was asked the question if he would like a winter break for the SFL clubs, to which his reply was yes, he is well aware of the rules as they stand and was only answering the question as part of that interview, read into that what you will, as you have already done as at know point was Celtics name mentioned.
AJM.

Agree12 Disagree6

Maybe it would have been better (OP) if you actually researched what Ally was asked in a interview and the subsequent reply to it rather than reading tabloid headlines, you're coming across as jumping on a ill informed bandwagon.

Agree11 Disagree5

Don't see it as a dig. But why do you not see that Scottish football needs Rangers at the top table;or are you just too delusional or bitter to accept that? At OP. What other 3rd division club has the fan base and pulling power of Rangers?
P.O.B.

Agree9 Disagree11

Don't be stupid, of course they know the rules, but does the fact that they know the rules, mean they can't comment on them. It is just another example of the differences between SPL and SFL. There should be one body with one set of rules, that's the point.

The pitches are worse with no undersoil heating in div three so if there is a break it should be the same in all divisions. Just as it is in Spain, Italy, Germany etc, etc.

This has nothing to do with SPL refusal to let us in, this is common sense, unfortunately you do not understand the point they are making, you see a comment from Rangers and immediately want to have a pop.

Agree9 Disagree5

@5 You are were you wanted to be ? NO
@6 The other team's in your division cannot afford a winter break. Simple answer.
Tam

Agree13 Disagree8

P.o.b. how can you possibly call any one delusional, you say we need rangers at the top table. with your owner c.e.o. saying you will never play there again as long as he's in charge . and we all know you roll over and do as he says . i got dogs abuse on here yesterday for urging you to go support your team in dundee . chuckie says boycott and you all forget follow follow. it's you thats delusional .. shammy

Agree9 Disagree7

Shammy you really enjoy a wee rant so you do. That's okay, we all need to let off steam now and again, but at least try to apply logic. Just to be clear, are you saying I'm being delusional
for supporting the boycott as is my right and for saying that the best supported team in Scotland being away from the top flight is an ideal scenario for Scottish football?? Bizarre. P.O.B

Good to her some REAL Rangers fans talking sense....Charles Green is still trying to use the siege mentality to play to the fans.

I think you all deserve great credit for the backing you have given your club at Ibrox this season but I am seriously concerned next year will be different once CG raises the price of a season ticket to £500...it will happen and just like Celtic, fans cannot afford this in current climate !

Well I been supporting ranger for 38 years 37year and 10 month more than green been here so I think I will decide if I go to the cup game or not .. And I am going .. I don't trust the green as far as I could throw him . Where the millions and millions he promise .. Another whyte in the making .. Rab the 20 year season ticket holder!!

Agree22 Disagree5

Well mate av been bear all my life also and will never set foot in any ground who, s club has tried to kill us

Agree17 Disagree20

A think the peepul that don't go go will be the ones slaughtered not the "True" supporters that do go to the game! Well done...

Agree13 Disagree15

Well those that are going, just a reminder you are lining the pockets of the most sanctimonious chairman, that would gladly have seen us disappear. Not getting a penny of mine, ever.

Agree14 Disagree12

I've had a season seat for 15 year. I trust mr green and I will be supporting not taking our allocation for utd game. Charles green is not a rangers man, he, s a business an, and he makes no apologies for this. He want, s to turn our clubs fortunes around n make a few quid. If he hid this fact he, d Craig white 2, but he, s been open on this from mother start. 2nd point, 10 of 11 spl clubs voted us out on grounds of sporting integrity (killie chairman just wasn't brave enough to say keep rangers in!). Big tax case result was no case to answer so the integrity argument is blown out, so 10 spl chairmen (and their fans) have judged us before the case was proven, they have shown there colours and deemed us guilty before a trial. For this I won't be going to another away game at the ground of a club that unfairly (in my opinion, only my opinion) jumped the gun. They want the bonus of a big gate but won't give the fans what they want (a 18 team spl, results of sfa survey, not my opinion) so they can distribute tv cash only 12 ways instead of 18, my reply would be... We, re in a mess with you lot deciding where cash goes, open the league up n give us what the fans want n stop milking the rangers cash cow!!!

Agree10 Disagree15

@3 So what about this picket line the non goer's are talking about. If this happen's, do you really think there will be no trouble ?.
Tam

Agree9 Disagree2

@9 "10 of 11 spl clubs voted us out on grounds of sporting integrity "...?

eh. They voted out SEVCO ( a company only just created) from taking SPL place....

in advance of 42 other teams that had much better shout - as they had been playing for the place, for years.

If rangers had stayed in SPL this season if would have be awful, your team (of parttimers) would be bottom, or back in admin again (if key expensive players had stayed) ...

DIV3 is a lifeline to recover.

After a particularly bad result yesterday does anyone know if Ally is still on £1m per year? I ask because Elgin went down to ten men at the perfect time for a coach with any nous. Why did Ally not reshape the team to use the pitch and play two wide men? Surely 3-4-3-would have tore a team of part time players to pieces? If he is indeed still earning the big wage is it justified? I would love to know the coaching staff wage bill, are they all needed? No in my opinion.

Believable23 Unbelievable9

I dont see what mccoist done wrong? The team were winning with 2mins to go, just an unfortunate mistake cost us the points, we are still 17points clear, dont see why people are moaning

On another forum it has been noted that there has been 9 opposition players ordered off in 24 games, almost an average of 1 in 3 games. There have also been more penalties FOR TRFC and refs have disallowed goals against them.
How can Ally and your team cope, until refs give them more help against these superior div 3 teams?

Agree18 Disagree12

Football wise ally is not taking the team forward

Agree15 Disagree7

A fellow bear summed it up perfectly about Ally, with this story- All and Sir Alex Ferguson agree to swap teams for a game to compare each others management skills, Rangers drawing 0-0 with usuall dross opposition Sir Alex drops the 2 foreigners and sticks 3 men up fron immediately ordering Sandancer to polish boots as a career we attack all 2nd half and win 5-0 Fergie still annoyed says we need do that for 90 mins every game, Ally menwhile watches ManU v Man City... doesnt recognise this alien game, 1-0 half time to City, Ally does team talk ends up Man U 4-1 .... they decided not to listen and played Fregie way as usual... This is what would happen he is HOPELESS tactically and sub choices etc etc ... TEAM will get us through to SPL DESPITE Ally not because of him.... george

Agree13 Disagree2

@1 dont see what alley done wrong, 17 pts ahead... in league of amatuers and part-timers?.?

even alley says he needs to win 3 division titles in row, giving himself more time

what about 15pts league spl lead, raft of early cup exits.....

man can do no wrong, and be paid millions....

Agree11 Disagree3

I'm not going to pretend I think Ally's doing a fantastic job but the time to judge him isn't this season.

Agree4 Disagree13

The team isn't becoming a better football team under McCoist. We have second most expensive team in Scotland should be SPL top three team level. It's not happening. We the fans are paying for top of SPL quality. We've done our bit. Where's the pre-contract big name signings? Start using the promised £10m plus.

Agree10 Disagree4

I agree, it was last season.

Brock

Agree3 Disagree0

@6 If all this turmoil had not happened Ally would have been out on his erchie at end of last season. His " I don't do walking away" speech just pulled the wool over the Rangers supporter's eye's, well at least some of them.
Tam

Agree11 Disagree0

@2. On what sort of forum I wonder?!? ;-P When I went to school 9 sendings off in 24 games was MORE than one off in every three on average.

All sendings off completely justified. The superior ability of Rangers' players having induced rash challenges from the inferior opposition.

Agree5 Disagree7

@10, then why has black not been sent off for blatant 2 footed tackles in last 2 games? One of which was a potential career ender! But the usual blind eyes were turned by match officials!

And to say black is a superior player in that division has to be a wind up lol.

I read after any game that we don't win that Ally is
rubbish and he played this one and that one out of
position and that he has no idea.

Some of you fail to remember where we are. We are
17 points clear! We are not the Rangers we were, we
have lesser players, we are playing in div three.

We do not need top quality players, we need good
enough players to win div three, next year we will
need players to win div two. When we get back to
the top division then we need top players.

We have to realise this is the worst Rangers team
we have ever seen, and you cannot compare them
with teams full of better players.

We only need to win the league we are in, and I
heard none of this Ally nonsense when we win.

Is he a Fergie, no of course not, but he is good
enough for the lower divisions. Time will tell whether
he is good enough at a higher level.

And let's be honest, it was not Ally that we failed to win
today, it was the players fault. They are clearly good
enough, they are 17 points clear, so if the keeper has a
mare, how is that Ally's fault?

Let's get behind them and stop this criticism of a true
blue legend.

Believable16 Unbelievable23

His tactics are a joke 4-5-1 is fine in the champions league not against Elgin city, no need for black and Hutton in same team.

Agree12 Disagree7

What a load of deflective rubbish. The criticism of Ally centres around his tactics. When Elgin went to ten men he should have stuck two men wide with pace to stretch them. This would allow the full backs to play as midfield players and press them in.The fact is Ally his pretty poor in the tactical side of the game.

Agree14 Disagree4

Tactics, the players are good enough to beat any third div team, forget tactics. Ally is getting it in the neck because the keeper threw the ball in his own net. Get real.

Agree4 Disagree11

No the keeper threw the ball in the net in the last minutes of game but the 88 mins before that wass dreadfull to watch annan away dreadfull to watch queens park well i wont mention that game one up front at home dire black was poor again templeton poor in fact wallace was our best player the big brazilian played ok but must stop stupid fouls on edge of box we were at home to elgin who played half the game with ten men and dire it was so ally you go on about how great the support is well your right 46,000 again yesterday so dont take us for granted give us something to enjoy no more of this boring one up front crap. Gents FFS give Ally a chance, who do you think would do a better job. Have a reality check. We are in D3 with a bunch of Kidd in the first team. Ally is a rangers man to the core. I also have my reservations buy it is totally wrong to post asking him to walk away . Good job he did not walk in the summer just passed or we would have been well Fxxxed
I am sure Ally will be a good manager through time, was it last week Sir Alex
was sinning his praises, but ha what would he know.

We won't win division 1 with ally at the helm, and I'm really scared he's going waste whatever transfer money we have, he's a rotten manager.
