its a real shame Jim McColl won't come out the shadows and bring his billions to the table,
Now that would solve some problems, AND buying off Ashley would turn out to be loose change to McColl, ah to dream .

07 Feb 2017 00:06:33
same pipedream drivel on here nearly every day about sugar daddies it ain't going to happen let's try and move on

07 Feb 2017 03:56:57
Bears there's a wee Turkish guy plays for Walsall, first name Ozurk or somethin Luke that but he's a smashing player he's small but very talented imo. Anyways if Gers were lookin for gems he's one mid or not, think Walsall got him for 250k so god knows what he would go for? oh and I don't play footy manager! honest Bears keep an yes out for this guy!

07 Feb 2017 08:14:48
Andy1872, D'u mean Oztumer? He's 5'3" tall and approx 9 stone. Now I don't know anything about him other than he's scored a few goals this year. But surely we need a big strong CDM first and not another lightweight midfielder?

07 Feb 2017 14:43:53
Haha always looking for a sugar daddy! I guess the welfare state is always alive and well at Ibrox, no matter what team or tribute act is playing there!
Remember the fighting fund LMFAO just too funny

07 Feb 2017 16:02:25
Think he is still busy at the Beechgrove.

07 Feb 2017 16:12:12
ColoradoGREENboy, If it wasn't fot your own sugar daddy (wee fergus) your manky mob would have sunk without trace. You lot are so predictable with your memory when it suits.

08 Feb 2017 02:53:07
Parky totally hear what your sayin suppose all I'm putting across is he's a player I would like yin see at Ibrox BUT the other positions are priority. Not sure if the Turkish lad is a wingers or an attacking central midfeild? think the latter

08 Feb 2017 10:29:56
Wee Bill.
I agree that Jim McColl would be a great guy to have at the helm but I'm sure there is something written in to the contract at his firm whereby he is not permitted to invest heavily in an outside venture. Even though it is his firm the shareholders are in charge

06 Feb 2017 22:58:54
Okay fellow bears. Yes I agree it's time to face facts we are not good enough. The team the management and Mr King. We have heard it all before bear with us we will get it right.

They won't get it right when we can't defend, attack or control a game. MW has consistently shown his lack of experience his team selection baffling. We all love Rangers but when the players have interviews and say we tried the fans have the right to be annoyed and they play same way next game.

Then there is no hope. We have heard the rumours of major investment in summer new management new owner. The fans have been kept in the dark too long it's the same old story. Move out and let someone come in who has Rangers at their heart.

06 Feb 2017 22:15:56
A caller on The Clyde 1 phone in summed this season up for me.

The main difference between Rangers and Celtic, except the budget, is they have a manager who has improved almost every player that was already at the club. Brown and Mackay-Steven are prime examples.

Our squad is stagnant under the current management and many players appear to be going backwards.

06 Feb 2017 23:09:49
I said it previously mate that Rodgers has signed very few players but quality . The others he brought in and never worked i. e toure and the goalie he done something about it .

I just feel the manager can see how hard a job it is. How big a club it is and his interviews tell me he is struggling . But he is not a quitter .

I just feel the whole place is at a low considering how buzzing he got the club last year at this stage till now. to be honest I have no clue what lies ahead I feel both Aberdeen and hearts have the momentum going ahead. Just can't see anything good happening remainder the season . Scary thought

07 Feb 2017 08:01:04
3rd place is now ours to lose

08 Feb 2017 11:01:46
Its not so long ago folk where on hear gauranteeing we would finish second now its folk saying third what next 4 5 before anything is done about warburton every one can see he is out his deph

08 Feb 2017 16:10:05
Alex2305: How buzzing he got the club this time last year? You mean when we won just one of our last seven games (at home to Dumbarton) and could have blown it? The alarm bells were ringing in my head even then.

06 Feb 2017 21:22:20
Believe Ross County game showed that Senderos should be in the starting 11 from now on. At this level his pedegree stood out and he looked very committed. The reports of Rob Kiernan being disrespected by supporters, if true, are disgraceful. The lad has tried hard but has been struggling as long as I can recall, both this season and this. For me Senderos should now get a run.

06 Feb 2017 22:16:27
Yes you might think am crackers but al tell you this senderos will be a rock for us and he will score at parkhead ., he is more of a leader than hill and when I watch him the more game time he gets and a run of games the better he will be, and maybe just maybe drag taveneir out and play hodson and play Danny Wilson as a defender midfielder and I reckon Wilson will be playing that role this Sunday. Here's hoping

07 Feb 2017 13:02:54
Wilson might actually e a good call to fill in for DM
He can defend and has a good range of passes on him.

Halliday just isn't a DM at all

but 442 is the answer for me

dodoo needs to start IMO

08 Feb 2017 13:33:42
ivlark, think your suggestion of Wilson in the DM role has merit if he is fit and mobile enough, certainly worth considering. Dodoo should definately be getting game time, either from the start or regularly off the bench. I would like to see 442

Fod

Senderos

06 Feb 2017 20:49:06
not crying out for warburton getting sacked but would love someone line Pardew or Holloway up here in charge. Need a bit of fire in the belly back at the helm. Mcinness or Davies would be no better than what we have!

06 Feb 2017 22:13:23
There's one thing i will say regarding 2 managers you've mentioned in your post spurs 1974! Billy davies is a far better manager than derek mcinnes! No contest mate! Billy davies done the business with 3 clubs in england and done superbly well at his first club motherwell! Whereas derek mcinnes done well at St. johnstone and aberdeen but was a failure in england with bristol City!

These are the hard cold facts, its all there in black and white mate! I certainly wouldn't have derek mcinnes as rangers manager IF mark warburton was to leave! I'd have billy davies though!

06 Feb 2017 22:26:40
Holloway is a comedian and a complete dud. Pardew gets sacked from every job he's at and would probably stick the head on someone again (hopefully scott brown)

07 Feb 2017 05:46:04
I like holloway funny guy

07 Feb 2017 15:40:59
Billy Davies can get to he's definitely not the answer if he gets the job that will be a step backwards

08 Feb 2017 16:12:28
Even mentioning Davies as a potential Rangers manager is squirmingly embarrassing. The guy's an addiction-prone car crash who has severe problems and some very dodgy pals. No way, never.

06 Feb 2017 16:52:49
I think the support needs a massive reality check. We have come on leaps and bounds under Warbs and Weir. A bit of patience is now required. Coming 2nd would represent progress this season. Paul Murray said himself it was a 7 year plan to get back to where we belong. There are no quick fixes. We have no money and require external funding to see out the season.

06 Feb 2017 17:23:19
So what your saying is rangers get into europe mabye but just get kicked out on the first round becouse there's no investment cool

06 Feb 2017 17:26:40
Celtic have just announced turnover of 61million for a six month period quite a bit of it due to champions league we will never win the league without massive investment but who is going to invest lots of money in our club let's hope there is someone out there

06 Feb 2017 17:36:10
Celtic could buy 5 players each for 4m-5m a pop that's scary

06 Feb 2017 17:56:27
Luckily the players they pay that for generally aren't worth half the fee!

06 Feb 2017 18:00:58
Ger1.bubble bursting time I believe cl money does not get allocated until after the final so their accounts of 61million before tax do not account for it.

06 Feb 2017 19:42:18
Ger1 I think ull find with cl money it will be whell over 80 million fifty miloion more than any scottish club with our sqaud valuation off over a hundred million worrying times bears

06 Feb 2017 20:40:37
Million*

06 Feb 2017 20:48:12
Rfcinfinity, £1.8m you paid for Garner, think about that for a minute, then read your post again. Then i want you to think about Big Moussa. I think you know now the error of your post. Happy cold hard reality mate.

06 Feb 2017 20:06:46
61 million straight into Peter liewells offshore bank accounts!

06 Feb 2017 20:47:29
Guys with all due respect forget them! let's concentrate on our own club and how we are hopefully going to get investment, into our club! Hope dave king, john gilligan, paul murray, douglas and graeme park and co, have something up their sleeves, before the start of next season.

I hope as a club we can start moving forward and that good news is just around the corner! I know its pretty difficult just now, with having to deal with that waste of space ashley! Hopefully his day is coming!

So let's not be like the obsessed, eastend green mob and concentrate only on ourselves! Don't talk about them, we all know they love talking about us, as they can't help themselves!

06 Feb 2017 20:53:42
Dembele cost Celtic 500k and is probably on 30 grand a week but this is the same guy who 6 months earlier nearly signed for tottenham for 5 million. Hardly an unknown quantity and we can't afford wages like his.

08 Feb 2017 10:35:08
Supercooper is right. We should be concentrating on what is happening at our great club rather than across the city. Just look forward to the day the wheel comes back round. It will, and it will be all the more glorious when it does.

06 Feb 2017 17:03:58
looking at the way frank deboer had his team playing at ajax he favours the same formation as warburton is currently playing.

De boer favours playing from back with possession vertical passing organised midfield and defence and defends deep but pressing all the time to get ball back looks to get youth players into the first team and develop them.

Players switch positions looking to pass to the chanels with quick direct wingers deployed to take on there man this draws opposition out of defensive position then this allows the team to keep the ball as there is space in the middle that then allows the team to create chances threw the middle.

he doesn't seem to favour a proper striker rather going with a false 9 unless he has a quality striker at his disposal.

what is the overall view on this formation and do you think frank deboer could make it work at rangers players wise i think there would need to be wholesale changes to the squad for this to work.

06 Feb 2017 19:23:53
and why would he leave ajax to come here?

please be realistic

06 Feb 2017 19:50:38
Didn't realise he had gone back to Ajax, thought he was out of work at the moment. That still doesn't mean he would want to come here anyway.

06 Feb 2017 19:40:15
It's the way warburton plays it though. He sticks with the same underperforming players like tavernier and halliday and doesn't have the ability to change things when they aren't working. Doubt frank de boer would take off a player to benefit his 'parent club' either

06 Feb 2017 20:31:59
Cause he got sacked from ajax.

06 Feb 2017 20:52:18
Blueblood because he isn't at ajax he got sacked by inter months ago

06 Feb 2017 20:55:26
Bluebloodgerz, i can't believe you said that! Frank de boer is out of work mate! He was sacked by inter milan before Christmas! Before he got the inter job he left ajax after 6 years in charge as he felt he needed a fresh challenge. So there you have it mate, there is very much a realistic chance that we could get him, if we choose to part company with mark warburton! I'm still very much behind warbs anyway!

06 Feb 2017 21:33:45
He's not at Ajax he's currently out of work! Think u should maybe look these things up blueblood before u jump in.

06 Feb 2017 20:55:25
Frank de boer does not manage ajax so you were right cuilin. He does favour a big striker! Milik thrived in his team.

06 Feb 2017 21:11:05
Frank hasn't returned to Ajax. Ronald is still there though, and he has no intentions of leaving. that's straight from the horses mouth. (I talk to Ronald quite often as I teach his kids to swim) Frank on the other hand is without a club, but he is looking for a club in the English premiership, so can't see him coming to us.

06 Feb 2017 21:37:25
That's because he's is still out of work. Sacked at inter milan recently

07 Feb 2017 00:48:39
apolegies one too many the night.

08 Feb 2017 10:40:33
Aye of course brunkendastard ronsld de boer keeps in touch wae the weans swimming instructor 😁

06 Feb 2017 13:48:05
Alright folks, I'm all for letting our players know that some of their performances aren't good enough as long as it's not over the top and near violent. Keirnan is a liability and deserves criticism and to be dropped but, to require stadium security protection from our so called own is shocking. As for the gaffer, he may as well dress up in a clowns suit at times. He sure does come out with some shite at times. He makes himself look daft.

06 Feb 2017 18:09:11
So Yogibear, I take it you were not one of the many fans Boo Booing your team, lol.

06 Feb 2017 19:59:25
Lol timalloy, have there never been boos at parkhead?

07 Feb 2017 14:23:03
I read the Barton comments this morning and would suggest that Warburton has done Rangers no favours in letting Barton go. Indeed there is clearly more to it as Barton indicated and perhaps, just perhaps, Barton was more interested in winning than playing the ball around in circles and getting no where. He most likely told the manager and the players the truth about their ability and fighting qualities. Unfortunately we will never know the truth but the fact that Warburton now looks clueless suggests that something said was not to far adrift of the truth!

As for booing players, I have learned over time that it is the manager that generally deserves the criticism and not the guys on the park. His job is to get them playing at their best for 90 minutes and if that does't happen then the player should be hooked.

06 Feb 2017 12:36:26
we really need to drop foderingham he is total liability our defence actually played better with gills in goal as he communicated better and settled defence down. Start the new guy see how he goes.433 ain't working as we know this needs changed asap. Get some midfield players that can actually tackle.

06 Feb 2017 12:40:59
Why would we drop Fod? he hasn't done anything wrong, reminding you 25 is rather young for a goalkeeper.

06 Feb 2017 12:48:01
be careful what you say about foderingham! I said he was a bombscare last year and was told I was talking nonsense

06 Feb 2017 13:50:07
He is prone to the odd lapse of concentration as was the case when him and Hill had a defensive lapse against Ross County, however he has produced some outstanding goalkeeping displays since his arrival at Ibrox.
Against Hearts late on he had two tremendous saves which kept the score at 4-1.
I think Alnwick might feature v Morton as Gilks played in the cup games when he was at Rangers, but Fod
has the No1 jersey.

06 Feb 2017 14:12:40
Not sure if dropping foddy is the answer to our problems but, I'd definitely like the other lad to get more of a chance that Gilks did during his time. I can only remember him playing twice and one of them was an outstanding performance against the stinky tinkers.

06 Feb 2017 17:47:58
He does make good saves but that's his job. He has poor communication, concentration and the way warburton wants to play from the back foderingham struggles with this as he is too slow releasing the ball and usually ends up putting someone or himself under pressure

06 Feb 2017 17:52:57
He should have dropped after the howler at Hibs last season and then after Wednesday night another howler
The guy couldn't catch a bird way her knickers off he's shocking and it really annoys me how he decides to play about way the ball in his
Own box almost cost a goal on Saturday too he's shocking get warburton
Tav
Fod
Halliday
Garner
Waghorn

06 feb 2017 18:19:59
if you think foderingham is a liability you can't be watching the games. listening to pundits and persons on facebook who think that. he has been the only player this year who has shown he is good enough and has saved us on multiple occasions.

06 Feb 2017 21:09:07
Clueless! West has been one of the better ones this year

06 Feb 2017 21:08:36
Gilks was 100 times better and could hardly get a game cause warburton picks his own guys he loves favouritism is a terrible thing

06 Feb 2017 20:51:18
100% agree with you cee, first for everything lol our player of the year by a country mile

06 Feb 2017 20:57:01
Watch Clint Hill and miller next time at ibrox and you will see they are very much 2 of the biggest weak links

06 Feb 2017 11:11:51
Hypothetical question. Say the board made 10 million available in the summer for transfers. Would you trust MW and FMcP to spend it wisely?

06 Feb 2017 11:36:12
100%, Warburton and McParland know there is players out there that can improve us but we can't afford to get those players.

06 Feb 2017 12:03:21
A big fat No

06 Feb 2017 12:18:07
He's got a proven track record but at the same time he's brought duds to ibrox

06 Feb 2017 17:28:20
Spent 1.8 million on Garner. Rest my case.

07 Feb 2017 14:26:58
Interesting comments from him if true that he wanted players in during January but couldn't match their wage demands. To get a player on a pre contract like Dembele we need to pay the going rate, either that or we need to switch our attention to overseas leagues and look to secure the best that is available that fall within our wage structure, assuming of course that we will pay up to £20m for the right quality.

06 Feb 2017 10:33:23
first time poster long time reader.

I honestly think this is the worst defence rangers have ever had, I cannot understand how players who have played in the English championship and even premier league can struggle so badly in an average league, It has to be the way they are being told to play that is causing the issue.

Kiernane played in the championship
senderos played in the premiership
clint hill played in both
Wilson has spl and championship experience
tav played in both

surely in all the years they have been playing they have picked up enough knowledge between them to know what is going wrong!

06 Feb 2017 11:10:02
Kiernan wasn't good enough for the Championship. Senderos isn't as good as he once was. Clint hill is past it now. Wilson is injury ridden. Tav is a league 1 player at best. So ofcourse this will be one of the worst defenses we've seen at Rangers.

06 Feb 2017 13:51:17
Now we need to see if Bates is given a chance by Warburton.

06 Feb 2017 14:04:50
To be fair to tav he was our best player on saturday, made a good few blocks and interveptions against hearts

06 Feb 2017 16:04:06
Yip the problem is the system. Look at Liverpool and us both same problems so flat no runs from midfield. Lack of a proper centre forward and midfielders don't have the grit and fight. Centreboard in both teams not great but certainly not the biggest problem.

06 Feb 2017 18:02:36
onlyshow: Who brought every one of them to Ibrox?

06 Feb 2017 08:43:51
If the reports are true about so called supporters abusing Kiernan on Saturday, take a long hard look at yourselves. The man might not be the best player in the world and has made mistakes but he still pulls on a rangers jersey. What happened to the win as a tean, lose as a team etc. Pathetic!

06 Feb 2017 09:25:28
there not supporters mate there morons

06 Feb 2017 09:29:34
Spot on PB1 the fans that done that are an absolute disgrace. He's not making mistakes on purpose. He gives his all he's just not good enough. Funny how garner gets a song made up about him when he couldn't score in knockin shop but kiernan gets abuse when he doesn't do his job properly.

06 Feb 2017 09:30:10
What's supposed to have happened?

06 Feb 2017 10:32:12
read the post from pb1

06 Feb 2017 15:26:38
Totally back you up on your post PB1! glasgow rangers supporters shouldn't abuse rob kiernan. i hope rob kiernan realises that the majority of us 'gers fans ain't like this! We win as a team and lose as a team and no player should be subjected to what the big fella had to endure! We're a fantastic football club big man, don't let some put you off!

06 Feb 2017 15:40:04
No matter if you criticise his form while he's on the park, anything else is totally unacceptable. Like 99% of players, he gives his best for the jersey and deserves at least acknowledgement of that. Anybody giving one of their own players personal abuse is not a fan.

06 Feb 2017 16:10:28
Total discrace fair enough the lad has not played well but doesn't deserve abuse like that at the weekend the manager has not helped the lad he should been left out weeks ago as we are strugling for a defensive mid how bout giving the lad a chance in there so we can then push hyndman further forward warburton does not help the defenders we should tighten up by telling wallace and tavenier to stay back

06 Feb 2017 17:19:14
I've been a big critic of big keirnan but to get treatment like that inside ibrox is a disgrace. Its time the club banned these morons.

06 Feb 2017 07:59:55
I see everyone is still shouting out for warburton too change too 4-4-2 it's never going too happen if by some miracle it does it won't be for a prolonged period as he has the 4-3-3 system played by all rangers youth groups

this is his formation and he's not going too change it end stop going on about it you's are just annoying yourself

I think Saturday was very unlucky for warburton if we had taken a couple of the chances it would have taken some of the heat off him as we totally dominated the second half and most of the first

There goal was bad play by the players on the park nothing he could do about it same about the lack of goals it's not warburton that's missing the chances it's the players

More patience is needed I still believe if DK gave him 10 transfer fund for players of a good standard he would do well with it 4/ 5 players from that would totally change our team his two loan signing show he knows what a good young player looks like he just needs money too buy some of them and not poxy Bosman ones

Glad that's all off my chest I'm going for 4-1 rangers against Morton.

06 Feb 2017 09:25:14
Their keeper pulled off a few good saves which really didn't help, scoring really is our issue. Dave King really needs to give Warbs a decent budget, we need 4 good players to come in, CB, RB, CDM, CAM. These players are all available IF King gives Warbs some cash.

06 Feb 2017 09:44:59
Manager picks the players who aren't performing. Manager bought the players who aren't performing. Ross County could have been 3/ 4-0 up at half time. They missed an open goal and Fods made the best save I seen since mcgreggor vs weirder bremen.

06 Feb 2017 10:29:48
Spoc, really could they have? they had chances, but this it could've been 3/4 is absolute crap. They had 2 good chances, one they took. then again we had plenty of chances, it could've been 3-1 at half time to us.

06 Feb 2017 12:06:57
I wouldn't give him 10p never mind £10m

06 Feb 2017 15:14:35
And a CF

06 Feb 2017 16:26:33
Sorry but they really should have been 3-0 up, we just don't score enough goals, we do create chances but we don't Finnish them off, that's the most annoying thing just now, well apart from he doesn't change it up.

06 Feb 2017 17:32:25
We should have won by about 6. Never took the chances. No lack of effort just a lack of ability at times and with all the criticism a lack of confidence. Keirnan not playing well gets you left out of side but not abused by our own supporters and I can't help thinking that if Wilson is fit he should play left CB and a right footed player right CB.

06 Feb 2017 20:55:44
I only saw the first half I left at half time it was so bad it really could have been 3-0

05 Feb 2017 22:31:17
I hope we rekindle our interest again, this summer, for the brentford attacking playmaking midfielder, jota! I've watched him in his last 2 games and he looks superb! I truly think he'll be one of the names that warburton has given the board, for next season! We have a very similar player to jota in jon toral, who's currently on loan to us from arsenal.

Toral is a smashing player and once he gets fitter he'll be a match winner for us on a lot of occasions this season! I love watching these types of players, as they can turn and win games on their own! There's a few of these players currently plying their trade in the english premier league.

David silva, mezut ozil, henrikh mkhitaryan, eden hazard etc. We are starting to see the best of mkhitaryan at man utd now. I watched this guy playing for borussia dortmund and he's a fabulous footballer with frightening pace! He's also been brilliant for his country armenia!

06 Feb 2017 08:03:01
Time up

06 Feb 2017 08:31:30
What do we use to buy him with? Ginger bottles!

06 Feb 2017 08:51:27
Jota is contracted at brentford until 2018 so I doubt we'll be seeing him anytime soon. I really hope the board will give warbs money to invest in the squad, if not it'll cost the man his reputation, not just his job.

06 Feb 2017 11:53:48
Hopefully he gets fit soon then because he's only here for a few months, we can't afford to have unfit loan players it's a disgrace the amount of our signings this season who have been signed either unfit or injured all the time, warburton is way out his depth here and it's time for him to either chandelier his ways or walk away.

06 Feb 2017 12:33:27
Your friend warburton is away next week or the week after the clock is ticking mate and I would doubt any other managers who are lined up to replace warburton will play a different style of football to our hopeless management team at the moment

Frank de boer must be the guy to challenge Celtic and take the title away from
Them

06 Feb 2017 16:31:00
I think he's going to leave in the summer, even if we finish 2nd, I think he has been shocked at the level of criticism, now he really know what it means to manage Rangers, in any other league a draw is ok, not for rangers or Celtic, plus the players have realised this league is tougher than they thought it would be, I don't hear them saying there isn't a gap from championship level to premiership lol, because they now now the gap is much bigger than they ever realised.

06 Feb 2017 17:00:42
How do you know that southsideger? I truly believe warbs will be rangers manager at least until the end of the season mate!
