That's a great image to have. We partially got an insight into the old days at Fernando Ricksen game with a good crowd, positive atmosphere and everybody supporting the one cause. I think its unbelievable that King, the convicted tax fraudster, and who was part of murray`s and whyte`s board, is now claiming the moral high ground.

why wait until now? surely he could have bought the club from his good pal Murray for a £1.

Or was he in on Whyte`s plan to liquidate the club, and chico shafted the two them.

Ashley pays his taxes, but what about the USC workers on zero hour contracts who are being denied the bonus scheme Bluebeard? Or what about when he waited til after the share issue to purchase shares so the club never received any funds? Don't say he's honest he's a conniving Donald duck

@Laylex, I`M not saying the way Ashley treats his employees is right, but its legal and a practice used by all big business.
also why did King wait until after the share issue to buy shares.

The guy is trying to buy the 26% shares that easdales, (who would certainly vote against king at the egm and you can take it as read would never sell to king), control he also has links to south Africa through his cricket so who's to say he not linked to king in some way, I also believe he was vindicated & cleared of any charges laid against him in the supreme court.

A question, if we are paying the wages for the guys from Newcastle, I don't know if we are or aren't, but if we are, do you think DK might terminate these and send them back after the EGM.

This us not a comment about the players but I am working on the assumption that this is another way for fat Mike to Get about another £20k a week (guessing about 5 x £4k) out our club before he is kicked out on his arse

In most loan deals the 'parent' club pays the wages or at the least the majority of the wages

However being that this is ashwipe and our board who f**king knows what their game is.

Wouldnt surprise me if their wages now coming out the 5million first loan balance of 2million to run that down and to save ashley the wages at newcastle

I didn't know the board could trot out all of Kings tax dealings in SA including quotes from the judge about his character to try and sway voters. King never went to prison but Greasedial did and he's on the board. So have we to decide on the lesser of two evils?

You can trot out all you want so long as it's true

King paid a massive fine to stay out of prison. He's still a crim.

This will just be the start of the mud slinging by the current board. anything to discredit King and discourage shareholders from supporting him. makes you laugh when you look at Easdale's past and the reports that he is allegedly considering selling his shares to Lajit Modi. another suspect character!

I think people need to look at the bigger picture here.
King is supported by 3 Bears clearly plus numerous ther shareholders (over 51%) and I think even his biggest critics would at least admit he is pure diehard bluenose and 20million pounds down the plug hole but still here prepared to put millions more in who else do we have that has all those qualities? That and he comes over as a very intelligent, thoughtful and communicates in simple yet concise terms. Would we rather a ranting john Brown type as the figurehead to unite the shareholding? No I do not think so.
When I compare the current board of Somers, arrogant and pompous beyond belief, not a Rangers fan and from his emails a self serving slimey ashley puppet. Easdales just their demeanor alone is enough to want them out the boardroom, the look like crooks, they talk like corner boys and they do not care about Rangers just the Blazer and the "turn" then can make again ashley puppets. Lameass and Leach are just ashleys servants to do his bidding no more no less I have no opinion on tthem other than that.

Kings team and the 3 Bears all come over well and are proven Bears all of them plus all successful businessmen and excepting Kings Tax blemish they are all honest as the day is long.
Takimg everything into account you can only want one team representing Glasgow Rangers in our boardroom and restructuring our club. Somers and Easdales!. kiding obviously the King consortium by a country mile.
People are focusing only on Kings tax issue and tbh that is now dealt with and history.

@George. King's tax blemish? Are you for real? He was convicted and faced 80 plus years in prison. He paid a huge fine in lieu of prison time. The fact that he is a Rangers man should hold no water. He was very unconvincing at the press conference. He made all the right noises in terms of getting the fans on board. But there was no substance to it. He had no idea about figures involved. He was also given an easy ride by the hand picked journalists present.

Because someone bumps the taxman for a few bucks it does not mean he will shaft the Club he loves. He has no emotional ties to SARS whatsoever, not saying its right, just making a point.

Reading the Rangers statement regarding egm on the 4th March, not very complimentary about king and Murray, in opening statement, but as you read on, there very disappointed that they couldn't work together for the benefit of the club going forward. am I missing something here

What better way than to make sure that people can't attend is there than to have the EGM far from Ibrox. All fans with votes that can't make it should proxy their votes to the relevant parties.

Result I get to go and rip the piss out of Somers and the Easdales after this historic vote.

For me 4th March 2015 will go down in history as the most important day in Rangers history in the last 142 years

A few fans still siting on the fence and some insane delusionals supporting ashley will in the future recognise they were wrong about King and the 3 Bears plus all the people involved in saving Rangers from these legitimised boardroon cr**ks.

For me more than anything seeing Green's behind scenes puppeteering end will be great, he has been the instigator and prime suspect in all the shambles around Rngers for 3 years 75million pounds gone! Where and to whom? Roll on King and the new era and the biggest fraud investigation ever in Scotland I dread to hear what these cr**ks have been up to in our boardroom for years

Just read the statement from rangers to the lse. Absolutely disgrceful pointing out king and murray are unfit to be directors putting up links to kings tax case in SA. Also says that fan boycotts through king to blame for having no money forcing them to accept funding from MA. UNBELIEVABLE!!

I'd have hoped Durie would have been banging on McDowell's door about the talent under his previous coaching but obviously not. So 5 youngsters from Newcastle. McDowell could do as you suggest but he's playing it by the book and I'm sure bills to pay. Hearts and Hibs did what we should have done 3 years ago on a fraction of our budget and the three amigos can only look at themselves for the current predicament they're in.

To-day is, supposedly, the day we will know the date of the egm. What's the betting on us being none the wiser at the end of the day?
I have serious doubts that it will be as straight forward as we hope, as I don't see Ashley just rolling over.
We need Ashley and King to talk but my feelings on this have not changed ----- I don't think they will. I genuinely hope I am wrong, but with them there can be only one in charge.

I heard last night that Llambias had told the fans board that the EGM would be announced today. I live in hope but doubt is creeping in as the clock ticks on.
