About SG signing a new contract. don't get me wrong I think he's doing well but for me his biggest problem is that he can't change a game. Look at Wed for example. We were crying out for a change of personal. He makes subs too late as well. His tactical awareness seems to be lacking. I think if he doesn't win anything this year then the board has a big decision to make.

As1974, the board wouldn't be trying to get s. g to sign an extension to his current contract if they had any intentions of speaking to s. g in the summer, they have seen enough in his 18 month to know that s. g has made a big difference at our club, have you not?

SG signing a new contract is incredible news. He’s doing a fantastic job. If he knew how to win every game and make every decision correctly he wouldn’t be managing Rangers. Just look at Man U or Arsenal. It’s a tougher gig than being good at champ man or FIFA or whatever it’s now called.
We’ve had some drastic managers in our recent past and dodged a bullet called McInnes that could have set us back years. SG is the best thing to happen to our club since the magnificent person himself. He’ll prove it. Starting today.

Only great news if he wins something this season. Praying this happens tomorrow be a massive weight off everyones shoulders. If he has another trophyless season then just means will cost a lot to get rid if him.

I'm most definitely with the majority here. Steven Gerrard is doing a terrific job as our manager.
You just need to look at where we were and now where we are, since he became rangers manager, only 18 months ago. Our european results thus early in his reign have been exceptional, to say the least. Of course he's made mistakes as he's still a very young manager and only been our manager for a short time, in which we've made massive strides! He undoubtedly imo will learn from experience, on the mistakes he's made and i for one am delighted he's signed a new deal to extend his deal as rangers manager. I back stevie G and our team to the hilt. As i've said before on here, i honestly think steven gerrard will win the league as rangers manager! 👍👏.

Course I want him to do well and of course i want him to win the league or a cup. But I'm saying if he doesn't then I think with the money he's spent he's under pressure.

I’m kind of in the middle here. If we lose and drop more points before January then shaky peg. If he wins tomorrow and stays on Celtic’s coattails or claws back the dropped points, happy days. Think he’s done well to this point but his blinkers for certain players are starting to worry me.

I'm reading Gerrard signing an extension until 2024, hopefully been given promises of future investment in and around the team. Also got great belief he will have the whole team ready for lifting the cup on sunday regardless of whether he picks. mon the gers.

Hey guys how's everyone feeling about Sunday?
I've got to be honest little worried with Helander past couple games I've seen him he's been very suspect
And personally think he should be dropped
No pace and absolute panic merchant
Does not look comfortable at all when under pressure
And feel he is our weakest link at this moment of time
Why did Gerrard not bring on Defoe or Stewart against the sheep and change things when it levelled
That annoys me about him
The lads toned to be top level on Sunday to get the 1st trophy over the line in a long time
Don't want to be all down etc on the gerrard or the team
But losing 2 points the game before the cup final is just rubbish as we all know
And if that carries on into loss on Sunday and another lose to them in the league
I'm jumping off a high bridge.

Thestigno1, I agree with everything you say, intact I'm not confident with our defence at the moment. Helander is slow, Goldson is on his arse all the time and Tav is undropable. Katic must start, not scared of a tackle, hopefully Barasic is fit. Early goal for us will rattle them. Is this our time?

There’s no chance of Goldson getting dropped sadly. Best we can hope for us Katic in for Helander. I think once these next two games are out of the way we should be trying Katic and Edmundson as a pairing.

Can I state from the outset that I am not, and would never try to tell Steven Gerard how to do his job. However I can't for the love of me understand why he does not give edmunson and katic a try as centre backs. The limited time they have played they have looked sharp and impressive. I feel that Goldson and Helander are too slow, and are costing us goals, which are turning wins into draws.

I’m a katic fan and would play him if I was boss but I see guys on here saying goldson and hellander are too slow. I’d say katic is quicker than hellander but I’m not sure he’s actually quicker than goldson, I’d say katic is our most powerful centre back though.

Celtic squad has edouard, elyanoussi and bolingoli. I didn't believe for a minute edouard in particular wouldn't play and anyone thinks otherwise is mad. Lennon clearly at the wind up but i'd rather beat a full strength Celtic.

Individual errors have cost us points in games against Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen.
I merely pointed out Katic played in the first 2 where speed was of no consequence to the outcome of the goals conceded. 👍.

We can’t play that midweek as we have hibs game brought forward to the Friday night.

One of the basics of football is that you play a right footed right back and a left footed left back. Doesn't get simpler. I know Chelsea ran with their right back on the left a couple of seasons but it didn't really fool anyone. I can't blame Flanagan as he's a right back but although Halliday is not a natural fullback I'd have played him on Wednesday. Just have to hope Barisic is fit for Sunday.

Next 2 games are massive. There is no chance I can see SG changing the CB's, maybe if it had been a home game against a lesser opposition then maybe but no way for a cup final and europe, small chance we might see Katic but goldson won't get dropped.
We let our guard down against the sheep, its about coming back now. Long way to go still in the season. It was poor but the team has to move forward. This time next week we could be holding the first trophy of the season and in the next round of europe or. : (
I want my team to stay strong fight for each other and believe in themselves.
Personally I don't think even after the sheep game I'am any less or more confident for sunday as old firm games don't usually come down to form. I want my team hungry and fighting for every ball from the first whistle to the last.
I know at some points I will be watching the game from behind my fingers and I know I will struggle sitting on a seat for most of it.
Honestly can't wait :D.

Goldston seems unable to 'read' the game; Polar opposite of Steve D AND TO A LESSER EXTENT Ryan Jack add to that a lack of pace and we are handicapped from the beginning.

If Ryan Jack gives the ball away constantly like he did against Aberdeen in dangerous areas, that will be an even bigger problem against Celtic with the quality they in the forward areas!

Something might happen with our defence. For the first time on Wed night I was of the opinion Gerard was calling out Goldson saying we should be busy defending their second goal, not looking for a foul. We shall see, but as others have stated, I very much doubt it.
