Usual Jim white interview on tv. gc just allowed to voice his opinions but no sign of meaningful questions to critical points throughout. I. e accounts have been scrutinised numerous times, if so Charles where are they, when will they be published, and where's the deeds! MB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2013 22:02:14
as the accounts have not been audited does that mean we can't play in the Scottish cup this year and is europe another year away {The Ed039's Note - no)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why not Ed? Isn't it a regulation? Cheers. {Ed001's Note - because they aren't due yet, for the millionth time.}

Just back from the game, must say it is 100 times better than last year. Daly holds the ball up well, Clark looked lively. Big Billi strolled it, but the guy who is going to become the big favourite is Peralta, he likes a tackle.

As usual the crowd did not protest, nothing apart from a few chants suggesting Green is a w. er.

Must say it was good to be back and it will be much better than last year's dross.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Glad the team played well, disappointed that we passed up yet another opportunity to send a message for clarity. Whilst I agree with the sentiment, a few folk calling Green a w**ker is utterly futile.
Incidentally, does Ally get any credit for his signings/formation/tactics tonight or was it just pure luck that we played better? Heard we played 4-4-2 tonight, is that true?

Tonight proves we can handle Celtic, bring them on watp

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dream on Ally. DH

It was a friendly ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beat of Forfar 3 days later a draw with a EPL club in turmoil and your taking on the world again bet you think Ally's better than Mourinho, deluded is an under statement!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring on celtic. Haha. Because you drew in a friendly where Newcastle wouldn't over exert themselves in prep for their season. Play celtic in a conpetarive game there a few things I'd guarantee. Clogger mccculloch would be sent off early doors and celtic would put 4 past you.

Speaking to STV, Mr Green said that he has no plans to return to the club in an executive capacity but would be "honoured" to become chairman, if asked.

Step right up non executive chairman, the job's available.

no comments re Charles Green's interview? RE he claims it was Walter Smith who said it was the worst Rangers team ever and he merely repeated Walter's words. Which means either:
a) Green is a liar and must be made to quit for good and smith should sue.
b) Smith did say this and meant it to defend Ally as in "look at what he has to put up with" etc. If so why not say so at the time that it was his comments rather than let Green take all the flak?
Past few days Gough, Goram and Brown slated Green for these comments when he claims it was Walter's words! If it was do you think they will now come out and agree? Like ally did at first before back-tracking the same day?!
As always fans are lied to and will be the last to know.

ffs we all know its the worst team in gers history managed by the worst manager in our history, I just can't believe walter walked away after 34000 season books were sold////he could have walked in june when easdale was announced as future director. christ i'm suicidal sausage bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Strangely I actually believe Green on this one.
I believe Smith did say it. I actually think Green mentioned Walter said it first last time he was up here.
And I believe Ally knows Walter was saying it, because Ally has slated his players several times after games last season including stating this team will get me the sack. Remember that gem?

This McColl bluster that started with a Keith Jackson fanfare in the press has all but fizzed out. Hasn't it? McColl has said no interest in board position and not buying any shares. Just moral support for P Murray. It's another day and fans need to chillax, the good ship rangers steams on. Greeny has settled things down with his earthy Yorkshire ways and challenges put up or shut up, in a fashion.
Stockbridge underpins McCoist (there's the only reason to protest).
Wattie walks cause he always was.
End of this weeks drama.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thats one way o looking at it!

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that Keith Jackson is Scottish sports journalist of the year tells you everything you need to know about how awful the football reporters are in this country.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jabba and Jackson can turn the tap on or off to make bears high pressure or low pressure. It's where jabba's power lies. Better to just ignore them.

SFA have clarified the rangers fine was for non payment of social taxes at a time when they could have been paid. Secondly SFA states hearts and Dunfermline have not committed this offence. Thirdly SFA maintains rangers asked for the fine.
Source STV news at 6pm

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They did in order not to have titles stripped from the club. Short memory

Agree0 Disagree0

1) rubbish, they were fined when they went into admin. the title stripping threat came much later.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems that even the SFA have now had enough of the nonsense being spouted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op according to some "experts" at that time in question we were 100m in debt, how could we pay tax, if we could have paid all the bills there would have been no admin and liquidation for the company

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

As it happens Rangers were only £13m in debt to the Tax Man less than the recent share issue raised,

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 and you couldn't even raise that to save your old club from dying! You would all rather sit on your hands and wait fur your next sugar daddy to come along lol
Some protest too last night hey! Pmsl

Agree0 Disagree0

JG according to our last audited accounts before admin we had £100m in assets alone. so could easily have covered a debt of just £100m for simple asset sale

we went into admin as could not pay a £14m tax bill.

Why not sell Ibrox for £20m and pay bill. ? Admin is last resort

Agree0 Disagree0

There was over £100m but significant income /cash to pay the NI and PAYE.

Withholding it from HMRC got the penalty but it was HMRCs stated reason not to accept CVA but liquidate.

Agree0 Disagree0

6) That was my point. No point in those circumstances blaming every other club in the land for Whytes attitude towards debt. However let's point the finger in the Whtye direction rather than at the ordinary punter who was powerless at the time to do much about it.

Whatever we do regarding protests, I can guarantee it won't change what these clones have planned. I only want two things as the rest will fall in to place. Firstly, a full set of trading results from last year. money in/money out and to who. Secondly, a full transcript of who owns what. The name, the stadium, Murray Park. The lot. None of this should be hidden anymore and if we get visibility of this we might be able to separate the good from the bad here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Seems 18th of September is definitely the deadline for Audited Accounts.

Will that deadline be met?

I doubt it.

Someone at Rangers needs to tell Charles Green to be quiet. He is nothing but negative bad press. He has renewed Rangers the completely wrong way. We should be playing within our means. Season ticket sales were enough to do this through to the SPL. NOT float shares on the stock market. That card was played 3 years too early.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Big Greeny is back with a splash.
Calling McColls bluff, put up or shut up, cost is £14m Jim.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything he said in his interview on sky was correct - 1. put your money up and buy his shares or shut up - check! 2. Ally needs to win a trophy with that wage bill - check! 3. People now coming out of the woodwork who had no interest in saving club previously - check!

CG is talking a lot of sense and he should be allowed to get on with it - how many people on hear said Ally must go/CG is the man! Now its CG must go and Ally is the man!

Ally is rubbish and he does need to go. check!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can negative press be anything other than bad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed can I ask if you think were closer to administration than a lot of folk think {The Ed039's Note - no)

For those who have not left yet, Chucks latest 'exclusive' seems to be another tactic to settle us down and buy tickets for tonights game.
I urge all bears to not be duped again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Baybear. Surely Green's reference to £14million pounds for 28% is an opening offer to those really interested in saving our club. Any buyer would have to given the assets in full as part of the negotiations. The breakdown of the 72% would also be required, as would a set of trading accounts. Any interested party would have all the facts to hand.
This should be done behind closed doors but who will pick up the gauntlet?
Obviously not Mr McColl, so is it not time to put up or shut up from the rest.
billyb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anybody hearing any rumours about Douglas Park?

Agree0 Disagree0

@1. F**k knows anymore Billyb, F**k knows. I don't know who to trust anymore or what their agenda is to tell you the truth. F**king sick of the drama.
On Green all I know is this, the man is an embarrassment to our club. His courting of the press with sensational and unprofessional comments is cringe worthy; not to mention the odd bit of casual racism that he seems to think is fine. Is this who we want to be associated with?! The man is a balloon and I hate having him associated with our club, I have from day one and he's done nothing to change my mind. He has had wee digs at Ally and 'Bomber' for their own indiscretions yet he has made more ridiculous outbursts and claims than both of them put together. All his talk of the EPL, Manchester United endorsing us for the EPL, deals with Dallas cowboys, 25 year contracts etc?! The man is a blowhard, a complete and utter gob5h1te and totally unprofessional with no shame at all. Now he's trying to get us onside by claiming it was Walter that said the 'worst Rangers team' comment. Whether Walter did or not is irrelevant. That comment could have been made in a private chat with Walter just talking about what Ally had to work with. What is relevant is Greens need to say this to the press for his own agenda. When I'm at work people say loads of things to me if we are discussing issues. I don't then go and open my gob and tell the world what people have said to me out of the context of the conversation. The man is a pr1ck, I'm sick of him and I can't believe there are many who still think he's good for our club. He's dragging us further into the gutter and tonight we did absolutely f**k all about it yet again. Maybe that says more to me about my fellow supporters than it does about Green. Total joke, and a bad one at that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear ime in total agreement with you and percentage wise I think most people also agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear, I agree totally regarding Green, but all I'm trying to say is that the door is open to get the facts if there is someone interested in showing true interest in buying and not just sniping.

The best way to get rid of Green and his mob is to send a clear message ti him, at end of game on Saturday don't leave Stadium their won't be enough POlice/stewards to stop fans getting their point across that we want rid, we need to stop spending money we don't have. Why is a second division manager on 1 million a year it is mad, QOS promoted on buttons, Livingstone promoted twice on buttons, haven't we learned anything, and the directors are milking us for ever penny they can get, we need to stand up

Well said. You've hit the nail on the head. Ally's ineptitude is not on. We need someone who is tactfully savvy and has a plan. I could understand if we were playing entertaining football but we seem to be one dimensional and awful to watch and paying ridiculous amounts of money. Larry

charles green has to work on his timing, but I agree with what he says, is it acceptable for a club with the second highest wage bill to only win the league, plus the only two people to put serious cash into rangers are him and craig mather, the two that are getting slaughtered

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Portsmouth win FA Cup - and relegated and in admin/liquidation

Wigan win FA cup - and relegated in same season.

Yur point, do you want champs league back in shortest time. or a cup (even ramsden ).

How much did Charles Green put in?
How much has he taken out in wages and bonuses?
How much is planning to take out after Xmas?

charles put in £25k
charles got it back in two weeks, £360 k or 1 year, plus £360k div3 bonus, plus 7 other director fees and consultancy
charles due to sell remaining 7% in dec to easdales. fir circa £5 mill

so green out in £25k, takes out £6-7 mill and leaves rangers basket case just like sheffield united.

and half he fans think green saved rangers, from what?

In response to the recent public comments from Rangers FC, and in particular Craig Mather and Ally McCoist, the Scottish FA offers the clarification requested with regard to Insolvency Rules under the Judicial Panel Protocol.

As yet the Scottish FA has not received a formal, written request for clarification by Rangers.

Notwithstanding the fact that a full note of reasons was published by the Judicial Panel Chair, Gary Allan QC, at the time of the determination - disseminated to the club directly, and to the public via the media – we are happy to reiterate the salient points in the interests of clarity and transparency:

• The Disciplinary Rules of the Judicial Panel Protocol provide a sliding scale of sanctions, with a suggested tariff of low-end, mid-range, top-end and maximum. This reflects the potential variations in seriousness of any breaches and any aggravating or mitigating factors.

• Rangers were fined £50,000 for a breach of Rule 14 (g) based on the panel’s view that the evidence presented on both sides merited a sanction at the maximum end of the tariff. This was evidenced in the Note of Reasons:

Page 30 – “At the time of the first withheld payment in September 2011 Rangers FC’s financial situation was such that it could have made the payment due to HMRC. ”

Page 33 – “The non-payment was a deliberate act in furtherance of a decision of the Chairman and director of Rangers FC not to make payment as a negotiating tactic in the resolution of ‘the Big Tax Case’. ”

Page 56 – “In the case of the non-payment of tax (which was possibly by the smallest margin the most serious breach) the massive extent of the failure and the intentional and calculated manner in which it was carried out aggravated the breach even further”.

• Rangers were placed into administration following the deliberate non-payment of social taxes, despite – in the evidence provided - having the money to do so when the decision was first taken to withhold the money. This was not a feature in the Heart of Midlothian or Dunfermline Athletic cases.

• Contrary to Mr Mather’s statement, Rangers’ registration embargo was applied in a separate rule breach, Rule 66 – Bringing the Game into Disrepute.

• The administrators in the two other cases (Heart of Midlothian and Dunfermline Athletic) submitted that fines would be inappropriate as the clubs effectively had no money and any fine could jeopardise attempts to save the club. They made submissions on their clubs' financial position to reinforce their view.

• Rangers' lawyer, in contrast, specifically asked for the club to be fined in respect of Charge 3, or Rule 14 (g). He did not lead evidence of Rangers' financial position or ability to pay any fine.

• Rangers did not appeal the fine.

So, another militant 'no one likes us' stance is put to bed. With the main difference being that wee Craigy 'Toad of Toad hall' Whyte had the funds to pay but chose not to, whereas the Pars and Hearts simply didn't have the money. Attempted manipulation was the reason behind our more severe judgement.

Mr Mather, I'd advise you to keep your mooth shut on matters that you have clearly not investigated prior to opening your gob.
Ally, I have never doubted your love for Rangers but your area is trying to put a decent team on the park and win matches (which you struggle to do). I'd also advise that you zip it as we have enough persons at Rangers bumping their gums and making excuses.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well done Baybear. Ally and Mather are Melons.
McCoist comes out with this guff to deflect from his tripe football management. Rangers asked for the fine ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do hearts not owe tax as well?
Therefore same punishment should have applied - no?
JG

Agree0 Disagree0

@2: read the statement! Hearts owe tax but didn't withhold money - they just couldn't afford it. Ranger could afford it but didn't pay - that's what the fine was for; a fine the club asked for in lieu of other possible punishments.

Agree0 Disagree0

2)As it says above Dunfermline and Hearts tried to pay their taxes but didn't fully simplely because they had ran out of money to do so, forcing them to go into Admin'.
Rangers (Whyte) had the money to pay the taxes but decided not to and voluntarily went into Admin' to avoid paying them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting that Rangers were getting to pick their own punishment.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 Went a bit quiet there jg are you starting to realise you are not as wise as you think you are
Tam

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2013 08:38:00
@7: the club withheld money that should have been used for tax etc. Hearts had no money to withhold. Rangers made no attempt to pay. Hearts couldn't. Rangers' lawyer also asked for a fine - why do that if there's no guilt?

Just contacted the financial ombudsman to see if it was possible to claim a credit card chargeback on my season ticket under section 75 of the consumer credit act.
There may be a chance that this is possible under the heading of misrepresentation but in truth it is unlikely. At the end of the day the club have agreed to provide a seat for a set number of games and that is the product I/we have purchased. However, should we slip into the financial abyss again (god help us) and Rangers cannot finish the season then they would be breaching their contract and we would have grounds for having monies returned.
There is such a thing as the Independent Football Ombudsman but they are only active in England. I called the SPFL who confirmed there is no such governing body in Scotland to raise issues with.
Unfortunately for the SPFL boy on the phone I was in full rant mode so he got all my frustration packaged into a neat 30 minute call LOL.
Sorry mate

Oh aye I forgot to say Charles Green is a w@nk of the highest order!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dear Fellow Bears

How can we truly choose to support McColl when we really know nothing of his plans?

There are still pros and cons about Charlie Green's past contributions. If he could curb the eccentricities and playing to the masses, keep his head down and do more of what he IS good at e. g. Raising £22M, the AIM flotation, Puma, Blackthorn and Sports Direct deals I would have less of a problem with him continuing as long as Stockbridge was removed. Of Charlie's "merry men", Stockbridge is the only one who is an out and out low-life. He is a revolting, pathetic sad excuse for a man!

Therefore it would help me and I am sure many others if McColl actually made some kind of statement to supporters outlining his thoughts and intentions. In fact there are only 4 questions I would like to hear his thoughts on:

1. We know Blin will effectively audit the accounts but its an open-secret the club has serious cash flow problems post year-end. Therefore how does McColl intend to address this?

2. If it transpires all title deeds to Ibrox, MP and EH are NOT held by the Club. how does McColl intend to bring these assets back into the business and avoid continuing to line the pockets of those who own the entities which in turn hold the deeds?

3. What is his view on the Management Team? I love Walter Smith but do not support his continued support of McCoist. However the key question is does McColl support and can he justify having a Management Structure on the playing side of the business which costs £2M p. a. when the club is currently playing in the lower divisions?

4. Who will be Chairman and CEO including their credentials?

I am not saying "better the devil you know" but as it stands we need to hear McColl's plans before anyone can truly take sides!

SPM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The problem is Green bought the assets for 5 million raised 20 million and is milking it all back out again.
It is called asset striping. The money is being used to pay consultants that are Greens mates!
Every penny is getting milked into Company's owned by Green that is being ring fenced.
If the board are not ousted the club will be in liquidation again soon unless more cash is raised.
Nobody's going to invest because Green is a tool!

Agree0 Disagree0

McColl - won't put up any of his own millions
Paul Murray - won't put up his cash
Walter smith - not a major investor
Frank Blin - this guy is a liquidator. He and his brother made their millions thru others misfortune. Check them out. Raymond Blin is his brother.

So do we really think they are a better option that green and co?.
Should mccoist not be set public targets to win the league and a cup? I mean is the ramsden cup such a stretch for this team? Maybe with 4-1-4-1 it is.

Again not taking sides but we all need to be aware of the facts before we jump behind a group of power mongers.

Lets bear in mind Walter was 100% behind SDM! How did that end?

Agree0 Disagree0

@1: not because he's a tool but because of the chaos at the club, albeit caused partly by said tool.

Despite speculation that McCoist's position was uncertain, Rangers director Stockbridge said that his position is not under threat.

"Nothing is happening with Ally at all, " Stockbridge told STV.

Asked if McCoist's job was still secure, Stockbridge confirmed: "It is secure. "

Former Rangers player McCoist has been in charge of the first team at Ibrox since succeeding Smith as manager in the summer of 2011.

Ally does dodge the final blow on so many occasions as there's too much other stuff going on. Wouldn't surprise me if Smith chose to resign now so Ally couldn't be sacked in the turmoil.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This just goes to show green is only here for the money what happened to not 1 person would ever get control at ibrox does Charles green not only have 9% in rangers wers the 28% coming from

Jim Mccoll makes statement to BBC News:

"Let me make it very clear, I am not seeking to join the board or to increase my shareholding in the club"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everybody is entitled to do what they want what their money. This guy is a billionaire and we put two and two together and got five. The reason he is a billionaire is he is tight with the money he earns and doesn't have the level of commitment some fans have who will go without a holiday to support their team. However just where that leaves the McColl / Blin/Murray bid at the EGM is anyone's guess. Has his name been used again to talk up the threat to the current incumbents a bit like the proposed £6 million buy out of Charles Green which immediately fizzled out almost as soon as it was muted? Or are there other players who can get beyond the 50% or whatever it is?

Back to the working class struggle?

Wouldn't it be nice to just watch decent attacking football and know your club was safe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Disappointing but to be fair to the guy he's never said otherwise.

Give ally a chance he's rangers through and through yes we got knocked out the league cup but he was the only one their last year to pick up the pieces when no one else would I personally think he will get sacked which I think is totally wrong we will win the league easily enough. green wants us to win a cup and we will (ramsden cup) that's technically a cup we should all stick together rangers till we die. Greg423

Believable0 Unbelievable0

OP its fans like you that are easily lead, we are all rangers through and through does that mean we should get a shot at the rangers job on 1 million a year?

Agree0 Disagree0

Get over him man ffs! he is no where near good enough to be Rangers manager. Have you not been to any games in the last 2 years? He is there for one reason only, to convince the fans that trust him to spend their money on STs, the only chance he should get is to walk before being pushed.

Give Ally a chance cause he's Rangers through and through.

What utter rot, I'm sure if Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola for some strange reason wanted the job the last thing you'd want is someone Rangers through and through.

Green is right he is by a county mile the worst Rangers manager in history. And he's bleeding us dry.

McCoist and Smith are a big part of the problem, they have continually demanded more cash to spend on wages this summer. Stockbridge has been appointed as finance director to make sure investors cash isn't being wasted. This is why there is major fighting at the club, don't be fooled by Ally and Walter, both of them have made a fortune from the club and Ally is still on 750k a year! Ally has always been looking after himself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@op when have you seen a story wer Walter has said give ally more money no wer exactly and Stockbridge is well trustworthy videoing Murray and then leaking it out

Agree0 Disagree0

That info didn't come from the papers friend, the investors in the City put Stockbridge in that position because he is a very clever man with a good track record of stewarding finances of major banks. He has got a job to do, but the old mentality at Ibrox where because you think its Rangers and we have license to buy who we like whenever it suits is causing the real problem. McCoist has been talking to agents & players without the ok from the board, then telling the board that if he doesn't get the cash to bring them in he'll walk and this has put fear in the board as they don't want to lose the fans. we need to run the club as a business or we will be back in the same place as before As for Malcolm Murray, I can assure you that he isn't innocent, he had his own agendas.

Never trust someone who has the opportunity to tell you the truth but focuses on the misgivings of others instead.

ED- Just looking for your opinion before I check myself. I paid for my ST by credit card. Do you think I would be able to do a c/c chargeback on the grounds that I do not have faith in the product I have purchased and I feel the product has been sold under false pretences? {Ed001's Note - you would have to talk to Trading Standards or a lawyer regarding that. It is possible you would be within your rights, the question is whether you could prove it or not.}

Will it be a midfield diamond formation, neat little triangles, 3 up front, Barcelona ticka-tacka style or will it be a flat-back 10 utilising Ally's famous humpa-balla-upa-parka style?

Situations not funny guys, emotions will be sky high but fans need to screw the bunnet and steer clear of trouble tonight. The world is watching.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@OP: but Ally backed him so that was enough for many fans who think he (McCoist) can do no wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Protests will come to nothing. Only 40 fans turned up outside Ibrox yesterday to protest. Our supporters are an absolute disgrace, no wonder everybody is laughing at us. Our club is going down the tubes and has been a laughing stock for the last two years yet the fans sit back and do nothing at all while the club they claim to love goes to the wall. Once again our supporters are PATHETIC. If you have any love for your club at all get down to Ibrox and make your voice heard before our club dies forever.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 why would ally do that? He would just be out of a job if he didn't?

Green goes the fans sign up Walter leaves green comes back. Starting too lose count of the amount of times the fans have been 2 faced. A WATP regi plate and the fans go nuts. Dear Fellow Bears

I read with increasing frustration, the numerous posts and suggestions as to how we should best present our protest this evening. It's very simple!

Protest OUTSIDE THE GROUND. do NOT go inside. do what Celtic and Brian Dempsey did! Organised, civilised but pointed demonstration by MASS support OUTSIDE THE GROUND! It is the most effective demonstration any football support can do!

So forget turning backs. 72 minute walk outs. all that dramatic, choreographed nonsense. it's too complicated but more importantly it's not effective! Once inside the ground, the club has your money. And this is ALL about money!

Sometimes the simple solutions are the most effective. Now if only we had our own Brian Dempsey!

SPM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Problem is most fans can't see that our
Club is in turmoil.
All these fans want to know is who we are signing next. Sorry to say that when all the fans do rally against this
We will be in administration again and it
Would be too late.

And please stop talking about needing real gers men to fix this club. These are the real gers men that killed it.
Bring in someone who knows how to run a big club. That is what we need.
And lastly need a new manger who likes to play attractive football.

Agree0 Disagree0

You could well be correct SPM just a thought will the police allow hopefully thousands of supporters making a fair degree of noise but with no intention of going into the ground the right to hold this mass demonstration without any previous notice to them? Not trying to rain on your parade oops just wondering that's all

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that simple is best.
I would also urge all fans to focus on the simple subjects of protest; clarity, honesty and facts.
These are things that we can all agree on regardless of our opinions about individuals or any allegiances we may have to different parties.
We are all Rangers supporters and we all want our club to be well run, sustainable and harmonious.
Let the banners and chants reflect these ideals and come together as a unified support. After all, Clarity, honesty and facts were what we were promised two years ago and we have yet to be given any of them. If our call is for these things and they are still not forthcoming then this will give us more of an idea of who we can trust and who we can't

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said SPM. with regards the police. they won't be either ready or equiped to deal with it. 25,000 bears screaming for Green to go "outside" with their wallets intact will certainly help this cause

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 how the hell will they stop it when thers a match on they stop the traffic so edmiston drive is clear to stage a protest

Agree0 Disagree0

We should focus on McCoist tonight, Green will sacrifice him to appease us then we can turn our attention to the boardroom, in my opinion ousting McCoist is the first step as at least we will be playing football again under a real manager. Losing Smith is not a disaster, keeping McCoist is!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2. Good point. Better to take our time and do this right. Involve the Police. Agree times, locations etc. hopefully with the policy's collaboration it also ensures no Neanderthals ambush what needs to be a peaceful but pointed demo.

SPM

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic fan in peace here. Demo outside the ground tonight AND Saturday certainly the best way forward. Before anyone gets critical as I'm a Celtic fan not everyone outside the club wants to see Rangers suffer anymore. This type of demo does work as we have shown in the past. Hit the board in their pockets, it will drive share-price down further, short-term damage to club ie revenue etc worth it long-term with a proper board in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear Fellow Bears

Here's how I see things playing out. believe me, support me, ridicule me as you see fit. I don't care! I only care about the long-term survival of our club and at least believe me on one claim which I have made in previous posts during the past few days. this club is staring a second administration straight in the face! It truly is!

The Accounts need to be published by 18th September. The EGM - if the demand is approvedl - would need to be held approx. no later than 7 days prior to the 18th. The Accounts will NOT make good reading. The Accounts will recommend the need for a) fresh investment and / or b) a new shares issue both to be actioned before the year end! Existing shareholders and particularly the major financial institutions will baulk at the prospect of putting in additional investment less than 9 months after their original stake. The cash-burn within RFC is out of control. So two scenarios will play out by 18/09.

1. Charlie needs to bring to the table NEW investors with serious investment as he cannot rely on existing shareholders to support his need for more money! After all he was CEO of the Board who primarily has blown two/thirds of the money. Also note, funds raised through IPO are normally used for securing assets and acquisitions. NOT for paying bills and bonuses to Directors that are 100% of salary! Charlie needs an "ace" up his sleeve as HE is on the firing line especially as the major institutions came on board because of Malcolm Murray - NOT Charlie!

2. Green judges when to stop the charde and posturing and avoid an EGM and agree to sell to McColl/Murray along with his fellow vultures and get out before the truth is exposed on the 18th.

We all know Green is in it for the money so the reality is this should all come to a head - either way - within the next 6 weeks. It's all just a grander game of poker in my opinion!

However be warned - whoever wins - will need to make MAJOR cuts to the overhead. That may yet be one of the conditions from the institutions that keeps Green in place. Even if it doesn't, McColl and his merry men will need to be tough because the club is haemorrhaging money and is not being helped by the player negotiations of Mather and McCoist.

SPM

Footnote: Charlie's blue-print from a few months ago was actually very good - just a shame he exposed himself and his greed by fleecing every penny he could and ring-fencing every asset in his name. but his business plan for how the footballing side of the business should be structured made a lot of sense. it still does!

SPM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whisks why we are in this mess, spend
As much as you want waiting for
A billionaire to invest in the club.
It's time we sorted our own mess out
This club makes enough to build a team to rival for the spl. That is if we stay
In the budget.
Charles green may be a twonk but he was the only person to put the money
Up. All other bids relied on season ticket money to pay for deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was a great piece SPM however it must be added that perhaps the most profligate person within Ibrox isn't a spiv out to make cash. It is a manager who for whatever reason holds more power and influence than possibly any manager in the modern game, quite possibly including Alex Ferguson.

He has gained several boards and CEO's legitimacy and trust that ultimately has got thousands of you to buy season ticket after season ticket.

And his reward? Aside from a criminally high bonus for doing the absolute bare minimum requirement is an astronomical budget for the job in hand. He has effectively used a pnuematic sledgehammer to crack a walnut that's had the flu for the past few weeks.

And his justification for this? You need look no further than his Telegraph interview of May 4.

Asked if – supposing it were available – a £10 million transfer kitty would be appropriate in the humble context of SFL2 – McCoist replied: “Probably not, but, if I am going to be totally selfish about it, I would have to spend it to get out of the division and keep me, Ian Durrant, Kenny McDowall and the rest of the staff in a job. "

"And keep me, Ian and Kenny in a job. " I was gobsmacked that that quote didn't have you calling Ibrox by your thousands.

After the club goes into administration, fails a CVA, leaves 276 creditors high and dry and a millionaire has the gall and brass neck to say that?

He worse than all the spivs, because at least he's "perceived" to give a crap.

Gaz

Agree0 Disagree0

On point 1, there are 35m of unissued shares which could be used to attract additional investors but this would dilute the overall share price. Secondly, no new institutional investors will touch us with a barge pole after the way the club has been run since the flotation.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2. Hi Gaz. I totally agree with you on McCoist. Whether its Green or McColl who "wins" in the end, I sincerely hope whoever it is brings an immediate end to McCoist's reign as manager. Apart from his continued failings as a manager he has also been one of the most undignified. And furthermore (in my opinion) he has contributed as much financial damage to this club as some of the other vultures.

GOVAN BEAR {Ed001's Note - I don't know of anything official, I doubt one could be organised and approved with police by tonight to be honest. I really don't know what the best option is with regards to tonight. I would be shocked if something doesn't develop regardless of official organisations though.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2013 13:07:00
Tonights attendance will speak volumes about the Rangers support. Can you as a unified fanbase really bring about change? It will speak louder than any other action available to you.

I don't know what number of tickets have already been sold and therefore have no clue about what the anticipated attendance should be but it is a pay at the gate affair as far as I'm aware. 34,000 of you already gave up some leverage by buying/renewing your season ticket. If it's the current board you are angry with, this is the oxygen that keeps them alive, your cash.

Walking out in the 72nd minute, so what, they already have your dough. Turning your back on the game, so what, they already have your dough.

Endless folk in here have described them as money grabbing spivs, by that very description you have their reason for being in Ibrox and more importantly the means with which to beat them, money, your money. Pay through those gates tonight and it's soon to be THEIR money.

Go along, protest, observe the minutes silence for the three Rangers people that died recently but giving them one extra bean only endorses them further.

It is a meaningless friendly, you are not missing a league title win, an important cup game, a Champions League fixture, you have the perfect protest platform, arguably the one and only fortuitous bit of timing in this whole sorry debacle since Friday.

"Oh it might hurt the club if I do that. " Newsflash, the club is already hurting. You remind me of a porcupine at times, 46,000 quills pointing out the way, defensively protecting Ibrox from all outward attacks when the reality is there are parasitic tapeworms on the inside leaving a hollow shell of a carcass. At some point the whole structure, 46,000 quills and all will fall in on itself.

Wise up or this club might become truly unrecognisable from what you've known for years and years.

Gaz

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@ gaz well said mate that's what I'll be doing just hope that all fans that are going to turn do the same no more money they have had enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post mate and can see the logic in all suggestions- going to game not going to game, protesting outside, protesting inside and walking out early but the reality is the best hope for change is the self proclaimed fans who are large shareholders being successful in their EGM.

Until then individual fans must do what they think is right as there does not seem to be any consensus.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post mate, who ever you support you hit the nail right on the head with your summary especially the "parasitic tapeworms" bit.

@3 I'm a Celtic fan and I've just realised one thing that makes a slight difference regards protests. The front of Celtic Park is pretty large and can accomodate thousands for such purposes. Ibrox main stand backs onto a main road but there is presumably plenty of space at the side of the Copland or Broomloan for such purposes, all be it that it loses a bit of its impact there. But it will be interesting, I'd imagine anything above 25,000 will be seen as a victory for them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This whole episode is Smith was always leaving, not comfy in the big job, football is mince and he knows McCoist has to go.
However, he uses it to try and get old Pal and another on the gravy train board.
What has P Murray and Blin done to deserve a seat on the rangers board? Answer is zilch.

Agree0 Disagree0

How will p Murray and Blin provide much needed stability walter? It will cause chaos. The board is now balanced these two would wreck that and what have they both done as individuals to deserve a place on the board?
This whole thing is a doomed publicity stunt to maximize on the fact smith was walking anyway.
Smith backs a requisition seeking to sack Mather, next sentence he says Mather should stay. Utterly ridiculous.

Bomber has said more than Smith and McCoist combined, we need to take action now, the first step has got to be the removal of McCoist he is not only ripping us off he is also killing the football side of Rangers, if he stays we will lose supporters in their droves. Then the board but where do we start with this nest of vipers? who can we trust inside the club? this was Smiths opportunity to shed some light on all this but yet again he has chosen to keep quiet, what could he say that could possibly make things worse? we only want the truth! If we don't act now where will the club be in 6 months time? Our only options are to protest and boycott games and merchandise, our strength is in our numbers if we stick together we can do this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why boycott games, greens already
got S. T money so boycott of games
won't do him any harm but would
not help the team, just don't spend
any money when we are at the match
billy h

Agree0 Disagree0

Shares sold, season tickets bought, they have what they want - what will strength in numbers deliver now that the two main pieces of leverage have been surrendered?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bomber has kept quiet on what Green supposedly told him last year, why is that?

Agree0 Disagree0

What else can we do? if we do nothing we will definitely lose our club, we were all warned of the risk of buying STs but some did it anyway, now we MUST stick together, none of us want to boycott but we must be heard now as a whole. Paying at the gate tonight is virtually condoning all that is bad in our once great club whereas if we protest outside and don't hand over our money they will be forced to listen to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did CG con WS? Nah, don't think so.
Did WS con CG? Nah, don't think so.

So the only conclusion is that their joint aim was to get the ST money in.

I really sympathise with Gers fans. But time has come (or maybe it's passed) to stand united and say 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive. ' (I realise that's a quote from Independence Day, but it's quite apt. ) "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. " (Edmund Burke). "I ain't going down no more. " (Rocky)

Listen, joking aside, best of luck. Somebody said on here that Celtic fans want the opposite of Rangers fans. That's not always right, there are many who want you to return, who want you to thrive, together we are stronger than the sum of our parts.

I will take it that all comments backing green and slating smith are from the eastend mob but at the end of the everyone will decide for themselves but I just hope most choose to protest to get the shysters out we have sat back to long and did nothin but line there pockets and I think the club is in a worse state now than it was before green took over

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why assume that?! Surely, Celtic fans want the opposite of what Rangers fans do - Green to stay in charge forever? Give your head a shake, mate - there are some Rangers fans unhappy with Walter and Ally, whether you like it or not. They're the ones who are willing to see the bigger picture and not allow allegiances to individuals stand in the way of their love for the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I must admit I sometimes suspect some of Ally's biggest backers on Ranges sites to be either Celtic fans or working in the PR dept at Ibrox.

Doesn't matter if they are as Rangers fans have to make up their own minds in future not blindly put their faith in anybody, even legends like Walter who imo should never have taken on the role of chairman.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bear 82 - as I said yesterday in a post - why do many Rangers fans always assume that
a) people posting what they don't like are 'dhims'
b) even if they are that they always want the worst for your new team?
Thats the blinkered WATP attitude that took you where you are tolday.
Sorry mate but hell mend yi!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is an unbelievable lack of accountability for this from some Rangers fans. Everything, it seems is Celtic's fault, the SFA's fault, anyone bar the wearers of the Rangers tie.

Now repeat this three times thebear82 and you might just get somewhere:

OUR board (s) did this to US as WE sat idly by believing every conspiracy theory THEY fed US.

Find any connection to Celtic in that and you deserve everything that happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op here @1 read the post again or can you only read certain words @3 how many rangers fans do you know who wants green at the club exactly my point a don't know any rangers man that want green at the club so that's why I assume that people putting up posts backing green are celtic fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic fans have had a laugh, or three, who isn't? But they've been a rich source of advice and could view things from outside, dispassionately. Everything coming to pass now has indeed been forecasted several months ago by non rangers people.
The problem is green and his guys most definitely have a tough job getting this club into top tier. It's not a cake walk. Rumours of them spivving the money? Unproven. Even bad accounts doesn't mean they've spivved it. Just spent more than they should on players and employees. Not sacking the workforce costs a lot and they should be commended on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 great post mate totally agree- own goal all the way

Agree0 Disagree0

@1, 3, 4take the slating smith part away from my opening comment and read it comments on here about green being good for rangers ie backing green are not rangers supporters is that simple enough for you's

Agree0 Disagree0

@5: "I will take it that all comments backing green and slating smith are from the eastend mob" is what #1 was replying to. As far as you're concerned, anyone who speaks against Smith isn't 'a Rangers man' and must be a Celtic fan. That's a ridiculous and narrow-minded way of thinking.

And why would it be Celtic fans posting backing Green? Just because you struggle to believe that Rangers fans wouldn't do that doesn't mean that there are no Rangers fans who can see that Green might want stability and cost-cutting to take place, even if it is just to protect his potential earnings. A club in chaos is good for no-one, including Charles Green.

Agree0 Disagree0

@8: nope, many Rangers fans have and for some reason still do back Green. It's far too simplistic and naive to just say that all posts doing that aren't from Rangers fans. Yet another example of a Rangers fan who wants to accuse anyone of writing a post they don't agree with of not being a 'true Rangers fan', as if you're the one in sole charge of what that means.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we be clear on what the McColl/Murray thing actually is as Bears seem to think this is some sort of company takeover that will result in a clear out.

Neither MColl or Murray have or intend to invest (their words, not mine) - they are fronting for EXISTING shareholders (c 30%) and if successful at the EGM will become salaried directors replacing some of the existing ones.

The existing directors if voted off as directors at the EGM will remain shareholders due to the lockin until December this year at the earliest and will continue to have shareholder influence over what happens in the boardroom irrespective who is in there. They can't be forced to dispose of their shares.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Green is back to get a grip on the costs, McColl is being put in by existing shareholders to get a grip on costs - so who ever wins the EGM, bottom line, no extra money being invested, just a reduction in expenditure.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was Smith and McCoist spending the dough.
At the same time helping McColl's argument about cash flow. Giving him an excuse to make his move. Wise up.
In my book, green, Stockbridge and Mathers are better businessmen/ directors than P Murray.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing will change they still work for the same people who are investors, its just more "true blue" hype to appease the fans. I seem to remember Whyte was a lifelong fan, McCoist wheeled out the disgraceful "watp" comment, Smith told us nothing, surely we have learned that lesson. The only "real Rangers man" I trust 100% is John Greig, and maybe Bomber, but the rest of them sold their souls a long time ago.

Smith said: "I am now imploring everyone to back these proposed changes so that much-needed stability and a level of integrity can be restored. "

Surely integrity was restored the moment he resigned?
He admitted he's not a plc chairman material.
He endorsed over spending on McCoists players risking club financial security.
He has been rumoured to be working with McColl against his own board. And his statement sides with McColl.
There's no board disunity now he's gone. Who now doesn't get along?
Maybe its his inexperience but boards regularly don't agree.
He backs McColl but wants Mathers to stay- totally conflicted and mixed up.

Heard Jangles Jackon n Billy Dodds on the radio last night saying Ian Hart was delighted Chucky Green was back n he's a 100% bear and a very successful buisnessman who prob realizes we can't go on overspending the way Walt would like us to.

Count me out of protesting against a bit more financial common sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

The most apt statement in this post is that ''boards regularly don't agree. '' Anyone with experience in these situations knows that the director with the 'best hand' wins the day and the 'best hand' is the voting rights. In the case at Ibrox, Green holds the rights either directly or indirectly and, as such, until someone can secure these shares all they will cause is unrest. Just because Green got control for little outlay is his good fortune and does not mean to say he will give away his power easily. In my opinion the current moves being made will only cause disruption to an already precarious position and remember Paul Murray etc. had the same opportunity that Green had. The biggest thing that I would ask is 'kindly do your moves behind the scenes and stay off the front pages. '
In saying that it must be maddening to listen to Green's ramblings and his backers will be wavering and may be there to be won over.
Come on Mr McColl speculate to give them a small profit and you will put us out of our misery and have a nice little legacy.

Agree0 Disagree0

How will p Murray and Blin provide much needed stability? It will cause chaos. The board is now balanced these two would wreck that and what have they both done as individuals to deserve a place on the board?
This whole thing is a doomed publicity stunt to maximize on the fact smith was walking anyway.

Is now the time to protest?

With a friendly match tonight, there is the opportunity not to turn up, this would only work if we ALL didn't turn up, something I don't see happening.

Or we could turn up and protest against this mob who control OUR club, who are KILLING our club!

Ally's rant was a warning for me, that the pressure is mounting from inside. let's put aside Ally's ability or lack of it depending on your view. One thing Ally has always been consistently good at is being diplomatic and his outburst suggested something was coming and it has with Walter leaving.

So if your going tonight I think our voice needs to be heard, banners need to be read let's get the message out that this board now need to leave!

The only way forward is for share holders to back the motion for the EGM. Only reason Walter resigned as he is backing a bid for the club. It's essential that as many share holders as possible back the resolution and force an EGM. Hopefully this will lead to the removal of the current regime and Rangers can move forward. If this doesn't happen then the club will be in admin before the season ends

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally diplomatic? Are you having a joke man? Maybe read some of George's posts and maybe you might learn something!

PROTEST SUGGESTION. I posted this yesterday in response to a suggestion by a Celtic fan suggesting all bears going to tonight's match turn up but do not go in. Can I suggest all bears go in but at an agreed point say halfway through the second half all bears stand up quietly turn their back on the directors box and walk out in an ordered dignified manner? The symbolism is we support the team/club but we do not support the way the current board is behaving. That way the fans who pay their hard earned money see the majority of the game but the current incumbents of power see we are not supporting them.
Whether we support the manager or not we support the Rangers. We do not have confidence in the current board and this will show them that ultimately our club survives through our support. Up your game give us clarity and accounts or move on and let the fans and the likes of McColl, Blin and Murray who after all are fans themselves take over?

If not good luck with whatever action to take in support of our club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So you don't want to do what a tic supporter tells you pmsl
Fact is if you go in and pay at the gate then you are giving the spivs what they want! Your money! Start wising up will ya for feck sake!

Lol you honestly think that they give a feck if you turn your backs in them? They have fit what they wanted, your money they do not care one bit!

I would like the players to play out of respect for those Rangers men who have recently passed. Then, on the 72 minute the players and Ally join whatever supporters are inside the ground in turning their backs and walking out.
Totally ridiculous suggestion I know but what a statement that would be!

How can bears act against this board and just blindly go along with Jim McColl when he hasn't uttered a word. What does he stand for? What changes would he make? He needs to speak up for himself on telly.
This billionaire thing again suggests he'll put in millions. He won't. Why would he add value with a giveaway to other shareholders?
There's no disunity with the board now Walter is off it. Looks like he was the one speaking to P Murray and McColl as rumoured on here.
This is a power grab by guys who want the money, the kudos, the power. Nothing more. Do you think P Murray and blin won't take lovely big salaries £500k and bonuses? That's their prize they're after. Have they said they won't take more than £150k?
How can bears get on board with people who haven't uttered a word?
What did Jabba say to fans outside Ibrox? Why no reporters or recordings? Very suspicious. A man who won't go on the record. Why? Normally so they can deny or backtrack.
Bears need as many answers from McColl/ p murray as they need from their board.

Ally needs to go, walter not wanting to be part of this so steps down, green only one with the balls to do it and the shoulders to take the backlash of sacking Ally for gross misconduct - simples.

An open invitation to Charlie to show his commitment to the fans.
Charlie show you care by selling the stadium & Murray Park for the price you paid to a charity formed and run by a group of fans (ie the fighting fund) they can then lease back the facilities for a nominal sum on a 100 year lease and be run for the charitable purposes of promotion of sport and historical preservation.
Chalie you retain the football operations, the branding, merchandise, and the business side of your game, whilst the fans have the assurance over our future.
Charlie this will demonstrate that you are not in this for the purposes of asset stripping, that you care and respect the concerns of fans.

Gers fans - the test would be if we could raise the needed funds to get the charity its funding and if some of our numbers with legal knowledge could donate their time in forming a constitution to ensure that no-one benefits personally from the charity in years to come or if the unthinkable ever happened. salaries for employees of the charity capped or linked to national pay scales, board of trustees on non remuneration positions, & any developments of the stadium being the responsibility of the football operation who are leasing the buildings with required approval of the charity

Recon Green and associates will have left before the season is out. They will leave with the shareholder cash gone, the clubs former assets in their pocket, and a nice goodbye handshake to walk away.

Where that leaves Rangers is in a far worse position than when we arrived. Paralysing the club unless people are willing to invest another £22m of their hard earned cash - unlikely.

A year ago we got rid of an asset stripper. We have now been dubed by that asset strippers former friend, and suprise he is also an asset stripper.

Whatever way this ends it will not end well for Rangers Football Club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Charles Green has already stated that he will sell his shares in December and IF true to his word he will have nothing to do with club and will have walked away with a tidy and undeserved profit. However why would the people buying the shares then be happy to see the club go back into admin and potentially get a fraction back of what they paid for them.

Well said John Brown. I think a good few more people are listening to you now and wished they had listened last year.

As you have said today Green is worried about loosing his 'cash cow' and has needed to highlight other issues to ensure no-one is looking at him. This ploy has had most of the Rangers fans fooled for over a year. However, now Walter's gone, everyone will now be looking at Green.

I just hope that John Brown's fear that Ibrox, Murray Park and all of the other assets are no longer owned by the club is not already a reality
Otherwise we may get our club back but with all the floatation money gone and high bills to pay for stadium and training facility rents to Green and his associates for years to come.

Rangers is Green's retirement fund, the shareholders money his tax free cash, and the stadium rents he'll receive once he has left his monthly pension money.

Does anyone else think Walters press release was something of a let down. For starters he never actually told fans anything. He also claimed he was behind the last call for an EGM. The reason for this was to oust Mather but now Mather is seen as good for the club. Is this because he gave Ally cash to bring in new players. He also said nothing about the cash flow situation. Then there's Malcolm Murray. Why did he not back him when he left. This looked like an old smoke and mirrors press release from the David Murray years. Lots of words but no actual content. What can be taken from it is that Walter is insistent that Ally should stay that is certain. And although the record names McColl Walter does not. That might be telling as I don't think for one minute that McColl will be ploughing millions into Ibrox. I don't think Walter comes out of this well at all. It seems like he might have been the ears inside Ibrox for Murray, which means he might have been the leak for the press. Cuts need to be nade but he never mentions this at all. Why.

Walter smith urges us to get behind McColl.
I was never sure of McColl as he never put up when he had the chance, but when a club man like Walter smith, a man who we all still call "the gaffer" issues a statement asking us to back McColl I believe him, and believe we must act.
I won't be attending tomorrow, if I go along I, ll be outside if there is an organised and peaceful protest.
I won't be in my seat on sat, much as it pains me to miss a game, again I may be outside.
Surely after today, it's time for mr McColl to let us know his intentions, if he's any kind of rangers man at all he owes walter smith this honesty.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has said nothing again! except keep McCoist they are a pair of dishonest disloyal persons f**k you Smith and the boy blunder

Agree0 Disagree0

He should be telling us WHY not WHO we all know what Green and co are as well as we know what McCoist is, this was his chance to prove this "loyalty" he claims he has for the club and supporters and give us some definitive answers.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would cost McColl just over 14m to buy 51% of the shares issued at todays price and take control at Ibrox, and that's on condition that he can find 51% of shareholders willing to sell
its now time for him to put up or shut up, his requisition for an EGM does not make sense, the arithmetic does not add up

The Green consortium sold 31m shares in RIFC and held 36m between the original investors, unless every shareholder who bought in at the IPO and some of the original investors are going to vote against the Green consortium then McColl has no chance of winning a vote at the EGM

He must realise this, so my question is why is he making more turmoil in the boardroom at this time and what does he know that we don't

Nobody should blindly do what Walter tells them. Think it through for yourself instead of listening to the boss's at Ibrox, for a change.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you may find out shortly that other board members alerted green about call for egm and he was always coming back after season book sales were done so that he can maximise his profits along with his other fellow directors who also have their snouts in the trough and as I understand it their is no chance of getting through the season if the current regime prevail which totally saddens and worries me and for the first time I think we, as rangers fans have got to stand up and show our strength and undoubted power to green and co and force them back under the rocks they crawled from. That once we get there he is going to know what he's doing? If he doesn't have it now, he's never going to have it. Great player, great guy, great actor, great ranger, s**** manager. The fans need to consider who is the biggest risk.

Ally might not be the perfect manager and has a lot to prove, with the squad he has assembled I am confident he will win the league. The main target on the footballing side, and importantly Ally wants what is best for Rangers.

With Green and his investors at the helm will Rangers have the cash to get through the season? More fundamentally will Ibrox, Murray Park and other assets be owned by the club by the time they have finished their cash and asset stripping exercise.

Lets be clear a poor manager can damage a club (and I am not saying that McCoist is one).
But bad boardroom management can ruin the club beyond repair!

For all Ally's faults none of them have targeted at damaging the club. Yet many supporters still forgive Green, Stockbridge, Ahmed, etc for multiple lies, lack of honesty/transparency (no financial accounts) and trust men who have openly betrayed the trust many have given them in the recent past (Malcolm Murray, Walter Smith, Ally, and even Craig Whyte).

I would trust a City Banker before I would trust Green and his investors.

We need to act with protests outside Ibrox, reducing the money through the turnstiles, stopping purchasing from the club catering/restaurant, from the club shops and stop buying club merchandise. We need to unsettle Green's allies (not buying in certain sports shops or taking certain buses) to reduce his control from 51%. We need these guys out so someone can come in, tell us the honest truth about the current financial state of the club and with the support of the fans fix and rebuild this broken club before it is too late!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I disagree with your synopsis of this situation regarding the choices. Also Fans don't need to do anything it's a shareholders decision only.

Agree0 Disagree0

Confident he'll win the league. your not telling us something we don't already know, still won't make him a good manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 but fans are shareholders - they bought into IPO for £5 remember. that's a lot of fans at 500 min

Agree0 Disagree0

Op - I agree with your summary of the situation. Green's allies will be unsettled if the cash inflows lessen.

@1. It is not only up to the shareholders, it is up to all stakeholders in Rangers - fans (whether season ticket holders or not), shareholders, players, manager, staff and the certain members of the board to unite sort this out.

If Jim McColl takes over Rangers that would probably be the best scenario but he's a businessman and will probably not risk his money in an uneconomic venture just because he is a fan.

Charles Green is two faced, cunning and sleekit and he has divided the fans to his advantage. Whether Ally is the long term manager or not is incidental at this time. We should be uniting against Green at this point. Once Rangers are in safe hands, I would expect Ally to resign if results haven't improved but until then we should all be supporting Ally as he is probably our main defence against Green.

Unfortunatly the fans DO have to do something. this time.
Wakey wakey. num1 shareholders mena nothign to us Rangers FC the fans mean everyhting. how could you miss that point?

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 ffs are you daft us the fans we're the cash stream for these shysters we cut the money how is it down to shareholders if we protest then shareholders that have no links to green will start puting the wheels in motion to get rid fans like you do my head in its always somebody else's job no it's the fans job no fans no money

We can't sort everything out in one go. If Walter can't work with Green that screams the obvious to me. Get Green out along with the other pocket liners. We sell a great amount of season tickets then he reapears he's been hiding in the closet at Ibrox all along, just waiting to appear like a comic villian. Unfortunatley this is no joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 your correct it is a shareholders decision put the people who spend there money on tickets shirts etc and then stop doing it shareholders will take note

Agree0 Disagree0

We are also shareholders Ahmed!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally. The persons on here still bleating on about Ally are clueless to what is happening right now.

The manager is the least of our worries. The board is our fight/concern.

We ALL need to make our voice clear.

Lets be honest we marched before, in our thousands, we made some rumblings. BUT NOW WE NEED TO MAKE SOME REAL NOISE OUTSIDE THE DOORS!

GET THIS BOARD OUT NOW!

Couldn't agree more OP. And the choices you make are within our reach, and shouldn't be easily dismissed. Handing out 8 million in s/tickets sent out the wrong signal that all is well. So the support have the responsibility to let the board and the shareholders know that all is far from being well! To sit back and do/say nothing only strengthens green's position.

Walters statement now out and he is imploring the fans to get behind the attempted coup as expected. He says they will bring some integrity to the Rangers boardroom. That suggests there is no integrity there now. He also backs Mather saying he has done a good job and hopes he continues.

This is last chance saloon bears, we have got to get rid of Green and his cohorts once and for all. If we don't do it now we may not get another chance.

I would urge the fans to let Green know tomorrow that enough is enough. He is not wanted, he must go and he must take all his yes men with him.

If Walter felt that backing the board was the right thing to do - why did he resign? The club just seems to stumble from one mess to another at the moment. Fans are crying out for integrity, openess and stability. I am sure (it would have a short term effect on shares) the fans would welcome a 'warts and all' statement so that they could get on with things knowing the true issues. At present all that is see is liesl and damned lies. No true fan wants to do anything to hurt the club but what are the alternatives?

Agree0 Disagree0

So Mather has integrity then? And he's on the board.
Cause why? He gave Walter and ally all the money for new signings? He's a pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the moment it's the forums and the hearsay that's dividing us as supporters. Some want Green, some hate Green. Some are glad Walter's gone and some are gutted. Then there's your Mather, your Stockbridge, your Murray, your Easdale ( attention's fairly shifted from him recently, bet he feels like a jammy ba$7ard). However, the one man I have never heard a bad word about and who all fans seem positive about is McColl. In fact, I've never heard a word from him either. This happened before but there was no word from the man himself. McColl seems to be regarded as a straight shooter in the business world and a genuine self made man. I would imagine that every Rangers supporter would feel confident if he was a main player in a new regime but is he really interested? All I've heard so far is speculation from others about his proposed involvement in a takeover but nothing from the man himself. Now I'm sure he would be quick to distance himself from recent stories if there was no truth but frankly I've had enough of silence and speculation. If McColl really is planning a rescue then the man should let us know as soon as it's viable. Not through a third party or media leak but from his own mouth. We deserve clarity and the truth, until we get that we should assume we are on our own, get our ar$3$ to Ibrox and let them know we will fight to the bitter end.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is as good a businessman as they say then he is doing exactly the right thing, sitting back and waiting for the mess to implode again and then pick up the pieces for a lot less than he would now. Supporters run with their hearts and sometimes common sense goes out the window.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 are you serious with your comments there, remembering that green promised the manager 10 million to spend and every major league were begging him for us to join them BT

Agree0 Disagree0

Green and co are going to try and get £30m for Rangers. and this will stop anyone investing for next 10 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Wer is Walter saying back the board is not just Mather he is saying should be kept on
thebear82

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair BayBear, I know its not an outright bid but McColl has served notice to the stock exchange requesting a big shakeup on the board and pretty much the removal of greens little party. And with 30% backing from the investors, this served notice has also been confirmed by Rangers. What do you think of the idea that McColl could be the mysterious Blue pitch? Just a thought. Anyway keep up the fight.
