Watching Gazza at the training ground clip and seeing SG saying to the boys “no one could ever come close to this guy” just sums up what an amazing talent we had for the few years Gazza put on a Rangers shirt! It’s a pity that money and his own unstable mind has left the greatest midfielder ( in my opinion) in this way but he knows he has one family that will always and I mean always welcome him home!

Superb Blackwoodbear! I've always said many times on here that paul gascoigne is the greatest footballer i've ever seen in a rangers jersey,
bar none. that's coming from someone who has been going to watch the famous, for nigh on 44 years now.
He was a maverick and total midfield genius. No midfielder in his era was remotely near as talented as paul gascoigne! What a baller, truly! Voted the greatest english footballer of his generation and voted the greatest footballer to come out of england over the last half century.
Says it all really!

As much as he was a fantastic talent and no doubt he was one of the best players in the world, but for me Laudraup was the best I've seen at Ibrox.

Hellander Edmundson Polster. Were not short of cover at RB. Could any of these shore up Tavs position? I'm not a fan but even Goldson can play RB. I've read on here bout his concentration, stamina and God knows what. let's drop him and benchmark gainst someone else. Kick in arse if you will.

Polster yes but the other names you’ve suggested are crazy.
I’m sure every player in the squad could play right back but most (like the names you’ve suggested) would be hopeless.

MBW, I disagree I think we are short of cover at RB. Although Polster has been tagged as cover for TAV he is untried and has not convinced me. Believe the only genuine RB we have at he club is Jon Flanagan and he is not currently fit. As bad as Tav’s decision taking was the other night he will certainly play tomorrow and we should all get fully behind him. Let’s not forget how good he can be going forward and I predict he will be outstanding tomorrow.

Have to agree with Blue89 no one can really comment positively or negatively on Polster as he has been given next to no game time. Don’t see the point of signing him if he isn’t getting a sniff.

AuthurD, I actually believe Polster is a midfield player so would not expect him to able to play as a fast modern full back. All I’m saying is that I’ve seen him play a few games and he made little impact. At 26 years of age I’d expect better. Hopefully I’m wrong but don’t believe he offers genuine competition at RB.
I actually think genuine cover for Tav at RB is a weakness. Was hopeful Jordon Houston would make breakthrough and perhaps he will although has not created an immediate impact during loan at Ayr. Of all the players on our books perhaps Ross McCrorie is the one most convertible to RB. A quality RB signing in the January window I predict.

Yately01, not sure about that. Recall SG saying he played against the boy in the USA towards end of career and was impressed by him. Hope the boy proves us wrong and grabs his next opportunity.

Polster has looked decent in the little I’ve seen. Flanagan should be given a run at RB when fit. He has been solid enough at LB with the main complaint being he has to keep coming inside onto his natural foot so he should be even better at RB.

Went to firhill today. . Palmer very average, mcrorie played very well and won heis team three points, definitely looks to have a future.

Looking like Mcrorie could be backup to MCGREGOR next season as Fod’s contract expires. Sounds like he could be up to the job.

Not sure if greegs will be our No1 next year. Great goalie for us but sometimes looks like he's getting slower to get down to things and not getting any younger.

I'm going to make a point here and shoot me down if you will. Other night yes Tav made the 2 mistakes but he plays there because SG plays him there. SG is the one that keep changing the back line. Get Katic in and keep him there. Goldson as well is first pick from our manager. So rather than slating our captain let's get behind him. SG has to stop changing this back line .

Disappointed with the result against young boys in Europe, as we all are.
I felt we were very unlucky and should have won the game with a bit to spare.
Celtic deserved to win but got lucky with there second goal.
Back to league duty on Sunday and hope we get back to winning ways.
onwards and upwards for the famous Rangers.

I would doubt that anyone attending the game tomorrow won’t be behind the team however people just don’t rate Tavernier as a defender and are merely expressing an opinion.

Been thinking about tavernier, it is said he's not a great defender but has defended well on occasion which makes me think that he's got concentration issues? Or is he selfish in that he neglects his defensive duties as a forward thinking player? Goldson is always out at right back and jack too. He seems better going forward but what percentage of his crossing if good? Finds himself in inside right bearing in on goal and usually from here blazes high and wide! In my opinion his strength is taking the ball up the park maybe the odd one two. from first to last third of the pitch! After a negative result he never faces the camera, usually airfield etc must do this. which brings me back to he's selfish and certainly no captain.

I have posted this many times, I'm not a huge fan of Tav, he's not a great defender and not a great captain. Maybe Davis or Jack would be a more suitable candidate.

Have we maybe taken a step back and thought that the manager sets the tactics out and knowing Tav is great going forward that he pushes him that way? Or do we think Tav just takes it upon himself to push forward as much? I for one thinks that maybe SG has a say in this more than Tav just taken it upon himself and heads as far up the park!

Tav is missing candiaes big time the dove tailed superbly and now arfield can't cover him were not as good on the right, noticed 1st 20mins on thurs also they were getting joy down bornas side that was because ojo didn't track back we need to get the flanks in cahoots again.

We don’t have a player at our club who has not or does not make mistakes and yet the sunshine supporters only pick out a few to criticise.
Last year Tav was great, this year he looks weary at times but when he has a run of good games he gets little credit.
1 error or a few poor crosses and he is said to be useless - makes me wonder if there is another agenda.
SG is a Tav believer, every pro commentator says he a an excellent player so what is it about him that some of our supporters see I wonder.

DK19 thank you! We all berate the guy but if our manager believes why not us? We could sit and pick out every single player that has made mistakes but what Tav brings to the team I don’t think we could get another player for the pennies we paid for him! £250,000 is not bad return for someone that’s given his all for the club and also chipped in with a few goals and assists but I guess the rest don’t see that!

I will put my pennies worth in about Tav, our captain.
He is a terrible defender always has been always will be yes he is great going forward but when we come up against better opposition he is rank rotten.
He gets away with it mostly in Spfl because of the poor standard.
Lastly he is never a Rangers captain in a million years and never will be.
IMHO it should be Stevie Davis with Jack being vice captain and I have never really been a fan of Jack but he has been immense this season.

The thing about tav is that he never seems to learn from his mistakes. He has made plenty similar to the other night and he is still far too casual. 9/ 10 he gets away with it I know but that 1/ 10 costs us big games. Hopefully he learns from morelos and has a change in attitude because when he is on his game he can be unplayable at times. Consistency is key and would improve his game👍.

Gannet10, spot on mate, tav is neither a defender or a captain, when fit I’d have Flanagan at right back and jack as captain, he’s improved big time under gerrard, considering what a great leader gerrard was I’m surprised he can’t tav is not a captain.

end of the day well drop more points than win with tav in the team not the best RB we've had never mind captain big borna gets dog abuse for his mistakes same as katic but sg blue eye boy never gets dropped same for the young boy doc never gets into the squad but that haliday does joke counts a dud of but he's rangers daft so is young doc big diff that boy can play football unlike haiday.
