Firstly what a result last night and atmosphere. One word to describe it PROUD not only of the players but the support not experienced an atmosphere like that since the champions league games and Manchester UEFA cup run. If fans think that was a great performance I think we are capable of even better. Rapid Vienna did not look like a good team at all. When I saw the draw made I fancied our chances of qualifying past the group stages. I think Tav needs to be more adventurous with his passing to candieas and also candieas has to look for the ball over the top rather than come short. Fair play to Tav that was a pressure penalty.

06 Oct 2018 07:56:07
Aye he didn't half take the penalty well. I was kind of half watching through my fingers at the time!

06 Oct 2018 10:50:48
Cambuslangger- totally agree what a great performance and atmosphere and to qualify for the group stage has been a massive achievement by SG, his backroom staff and the players.
To sit top of our group is great so hopefully we can qualify for the knockout stage but one game at a time.
The only thing I would add that all the players were excellent and did the club proud.

05 Oct 2018 19:00:48
Talking amongst ourselves, at ibrox last night, at full time, we all in tandem reckon that rangers manager steven gerrard, is fast becoming as loved by our supporters, as graeme souness and walter smith were! You can feel the adulation all us gers supporters, have for stevie G! He has absolutely everything you'd expect, from a rangers manager! As time goes on gerrard will only get better and better as a manager! Our football club has got into his heart, its there for all to see already! One thing is for sure, gerrard whenever he eventually leaves us, will leave a rangers supporter as well as his 1st love liverpool!

05 Oct 2018 20:55:26
Fair comment Coup, my concern is maybe other clubs may come calling. I hope he's here for the long haul though!

05 Oct 2018 23:57:43
I think we're all pleased with how things are progressing ( especially in Europe ) but its only Oct, let's see how the season goes before comparing Gerrard with Smith and Sounness.

06 Oct 2018 12:21:46
He doesn't need money goalie but a challenge and with us he definitely has that. He doesn't seem like a quitter and as long as he has our support. I think he will be in it for the long haul . Dave King quietly at the match last night . He must be as chuffed as punch.

06 Oct 2018 12:26:47
@goalie - I think it's a win / win for all concerned. If other clubs come calling then it means we will have been successful. This in turn makes the Rangers job attractive to other quality managers. Which in turn means no more being linked with McInnes etc. 👍.

05 Oct 2018 18:57:16
Hi Bears. Feeling good right now. I took Gers at 125/ 1 to win Europa League before it started £10 bet. You never know!

05 Oct 2018 20:45:59
Easy Tiger! 😂😂.

05 Oct 2018 20:58:23
Yeh Doiger, you never know. I got 10/ 1 for us to win the league. You never know!

06 Oct 2018 12:15:50
@doiger - loving the optimism! Good luck! 👍🔴⚪️🔵👍.

06 Oct 2018 12:23:43
I put took them as group winners at 10/1, should have put the house on it.

05 Oct 2018 18:15:57
Great result last night but time to stop celebrating and move on. Anything less than 3 points against Hearts on Sunday will not be acceptable.

05 Oct 2018 20:58:03
Yep I fancied us last might strongly and the same for hearts on Sunday. However come the next league away game i will be back to feeling the worst until whatever fear we have away from home is lifted.

06 Oct 2018 12:13:09
Three disagrees already Bankie. Not fae me tho I think we can do it but no chicken counting yet.

Raul Jimenez

05 Oct 2018 16:55:59
Anyone any idea of what it would cost to sign any of the loanees, mainly ejaria and Kent? IMO Ejaria is a great player. Passing is class and uses his legs and body like zidane. Please note I'm not saying ejaria is as good as zidane lol.

05 Oct 2018 17:23:45
Don't know how much it would cost but I reckon the kent and ejaria would sign for us, let's face it with talent already at liverpool and the fact that liverpool will continue to buy top players it will be very hard for them to break into the liverpool team. So they either move to a leicester watford etc and earn massive cash or they play for us and have nights like last night👍. Take patrick roberts for example, he is now at girona in spain. 👍.

05 Oct 2018 17:28:15
Far too much for us anyway. they've both got 4 years left at Liverpool.

05 Oct 2018 17:34:04
I think we could pick up Kent for a training fee as I believe he is out of contract in the summer but Ejaria probably sees his future down south? Might be wrong 🇬🇧.

05 Oct 2018 17:35:30
Bearmodes right. Might get them on another seasons loan though.

05 Oct 2018 18:51:58
Blueberry, you've hit the nail on the head pal! I reckon we have a very good chance of getting both, ovie ejaria and ryan kent, on extended 1 year loan deals, after this season! I would love us to be able to sign both kent and ejaria permanently, but i don't think we could afford to buy them permanently! I've said as much on here previously!

05 Oct 2018 21:00:04
Man city wanted 12 million for Patrick Roberts. How much donypubthink Kent and ejaria then would be valued at.

05 Oct 2018 21:05:12
Would love to see them sign permanently but would think they will be too expensive. A year extension would be a good option blueberry

Good thing is that SG and his staff have brought these players through at Liverpool. He obviously knows how to nurture young talent. Hopefully the same will happen at Ibrox with our young players.

06 Oct 2018 00:15:40
Cf bear, the point i'm making is that young players at the top prem clubs end up off the radar at some unknown club whereas we can offer a platform of european football at a massive club in front of 50k. That has to trump playing for girona for example👍.

Young players at the top prem clubs should let their contracts expire as the majority have no chance of breaking into the first team. Agents are greedy tho and advise these kids to sign deals purely for financial reasons and not footballing reasons. Now roberts has pretty much zero chance of getting into the first team, so why would man city put a 12mil price tag on him? Its greed. They are pricing him out of a decent move and effectively ruining his career. Young players down south should take note👍.

06 Oct 2018 00:31:02
I honestly feel that both would not be worth what they would command in transfer fee, if we can extend the loans great, I’m sure Liverpool can see the benefit to these deals as opposed to the loans both players had in the Championship last season so we might get even better players on loan next summer. This is not the market we should be shopping in for permanent signings though, the money down south has distorted the value, just look at Waghorn.

06 Oct 2018 12:22:18
A years extension. two years at club is as good as a signing.

05 Oct 2018 11:31:32
I have my tin hat at the raeady. IMO 4-5-1 is our best formation. To back this up when we play 4-4-2 with Lafferty and Morelos up front in the league, we have dropped 8 points in total to Motherwell, Celtic, and Livingston.

05 Oct 2018 11:47:29
Spot on bluetoon, my mate mentioned that stat to me last night. We must stick to a 451👍.

05 Oct 2018 11:56:32
Don’t recall us playing 4-4-2 at any point bluetoon, Lafferty is wasted out wide, it should be one or the other up front for me!

05 Oct 2018 12:38:10
wee_bear if it wasn't 4-4-2 it was 4-4-1-1. Irrespective of the formation lafferty is not a midfielder. For me it has to be Morelos all day long on his own up front. As I said above playing both is expensive points wise.

05 Oct 2018 12:50:58
Wee bear he means with two recognized ST's. When we have played with lafferty and morelos it just has not worked👍.

05 Oct 2018 13:17:38
I think the other major difference when we’ve dropped points is because we’ve changed our style completely to try to combat who we are playing. I won’t count the Aberdeen game since we played majority with ten men but Celtic game we sat back, Motherwell we changed to 3-5-2 and sat too deep, Livingston we never looked like attacking for whatever reason, too busy worrying about their set pieces and long ball tactics. Every game where we’ve went out and just worried about what we do well, we’ve won.

Moral of the story, stop worrying about trying to change depending on who we’re playing and play our own game instead.

05 Oct 2018 17:25:32
Gerrard said it was a 4-3-3 just for the record.

05 Oct 2018 11:04:52
What a performance an result last night, should have been about 6-0 really. Their goal was a mile offside but who cares now, up and at em Stevie.

05 Oct 2018 11:50:02
It was so far offside that it was shocking that the officials missed it👍.

05 Oct 2018 12:21:23
Thank you Mr Gerrard. thank you.

05 Oct 2018 11:02:08
Beat Moscow and Rangers take full control of that group.

05 Oct 2018 15:31:06
Moscow will be tougher away than the Villareal game.

05 Oct 2018 11:06:40
On a more serious note though,

I see Scotland has jumped another place in the UEFA coefficient table due to our result. That's a few times now this season.

I find it hilarious that we were told Scotland did not need Rangers and more recently since returning to the Premier League we were told Scotland 'did not need a strong Rangers'.

It's no coincidence since our financial downfall in 2011 that Scotland's coefficient took a battering and now since our return it has now made it's strongest leap in many years.

Bar Celtic, the runners up in Scotland have done hee haw in Europe when they had their chance as we were climbing up the leagues.

06 Oct 2018 00:10:48
10 years since 2 teams in Scotland have been in the group stage of Europe, not a good stat . If rangers and Celtic do well this year and all the teams do well next year there will be 2 champions League spots the year after.

I think the Scottish game is on the up, the teams round and about are stronger, the tic are weaker and we are a hell of a lot stronger than we have been for a long time. Gerrard and Allen have been superb in the transfer window, just about all the signings have been superb witch if a reflection of our manager superb . Great to have big European night at ibrox.

05 Oct 2018 10:15:55
Everybody who is still waiting on kits being delivered, don't worry!

I have it on good authority they will be received on time for Baku.

05 Oct 2018 11:08:17
Funny how every single post today already has 1 disagree regardless of the subject.

Wee timothy is raging!

05 Oct 2018 11:09:39
We’re on our way.

05 Oct 2018 09:59:12
Guys, new kits are out for delivery. I got mines today via Royal Mail.
Good sizing, I’m always a large and the large from Hummel fits me perfect!

Let’s turns this town blue!

05 Oct 2018 09:48:18
Wanted to say fair play to Rapid fans they helped rock ibrox last night never stopped making a noise and came in numbers. don't mind giving seats to away support when they actually turn up and join in.

05 Oct 2018 10:55:57
Yeah they were excellent last night just a pity about their club colours.

05 Oct 2018 11:17:37
Was at Elo on Wednesday and met quite a few in the pubs in city centre before and after the gig. They were really friendly and out for a good night. The people of Glasgow made them really welcome and even witnessed a few guys giving up their table to some older Rapid fans. Hopefully our travelling fans' experience will be replicated in Vienna. accompanied by a bears win, of course! # let's go.

05 Oct 2018 17:21:06
I take it yous didn’t have them sitting in the row behind you then
The organisation and segregation in the club deck last night was nothing short of amateurish.
It took the stewards 35 minutes to realise that I could sit in my season ticket seat in the row in front of them.

The steward who was dealing with us also told us that paper tickets took priority over season tickets last night.
If we didn’t equalise so quickly there could have been trouble up there the atmosphere when they scored got very ugly.
Anyway in the end we won and we won well.

06 Oct 2018 12:11:57
Season tickets didn't get u in last night so don't know what u mean by priority over season tickets? I agree with the rest of the lads thot the rapid supporters were awesome especially liked the version of the bouncy they were doing at one point.

06 Oct 2018 12:28:08
Season tickets weren't valid so of course paper tickets were priority when we were paying over a ton for a 3 match package. I thought the rapid fans were excellent, even after the game still noisy and played a huge part in a terrific atmosphere 👍👍.

05 Oct 2018 09:46:09
As much as I love reading about Rangers winning got to admit I also love reading about rivals defeats, however to joy of daily record home page online. One link for rangers game, even though that was probably the best performance of a scottish team in europe this season. Not one link or comment of how celtic got on in europe. Did they win did they lose?! ah who cares. LetsGo.

I see southgate has named 6 uncapped players for the up coming friendlies, bold move.

04 Oct 2018 22:57:37
Fellow bretheren. Outsranding result so let's take this performance into the league and show the Tic what this club is all about. WE ARE THE PEOPLE. 🇬🇧.

05 Oct 2018 06:28:24
Buzzing coming out of ibrox last night! Superb performance from our players and another terrific, very professional interview, from our iconic manager, post match! As usual, he was the immaculate professional, in everything he said!
Steven Gerrard was like a cat that got the cream and was absolutely spot on, to wax lyrical, about his team's performance, post match! He most definitely is getting our club right into his heart! His praise for all us rangers supporters, at ibrox last night was very welcoming and lovely to hear! In Steven Gerrard, we most definitely trust!

05 Oct 2018 06:56:20
Unreal ❤💙.

05 Oct 2018 09:59:54
Just read players rating the sun absolutely shocking can people not give an honest judgment or do they send Stevie Wonder to report gave Ryan Kent a 6 and Worrall n Flanagan unbelievable.

04 Oct 2018 23:40:03
What a performance, the best we have played so far under SG, to be top of a group that most thought we would be the whipping boys a title belongs to victim fc long may they keep it.

04 Oct 2018 23:06:14
Goosebumps once again.

Outstanding all over, few misplaced balls and runs, but anyone that’s played knows that’s the way.

It just feels amazing to be back on the cloud.
