Someone want to put a price on Morelos just now
Who would want him - reminds me of that Italian player now balotelli always some drama going on and when that happens puts teams off
I was all for keeping Morelos and thinking it would be him that would help us win trophies it never bloody happened
He could be top goal scorer in the world but I wouldn't care less he never helped us loads a cup and he will be gone in summer and leaving as a loser who won nothing
It high time we all stood together and said enough is enough
We want winners not losers and petulant schoolboy behaviour when was the Glasgow Rangers about that, never
So why would and should we accept it now
Morelos doesn't care about the club and more you look at it he never did
He wanted and is using our club to move to bigger things more money etc etc
When we're all still here supporting our club he will be away

I'm not one of the sack Gerrard brigade but I severely doubt now he'll be at Ibrox at the start of the 20/ 21 season.
As for Morelos, he can be fantastic but lacks consistency, has obvious attitude problems, a bit of a weight problem. The fact that he has never managed to score against a mediocre Celtic team says a lot about him.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the teams lost form as soon as morelos has lost form I think it just goes to show how much he carried us for the first half of the season.

Spot on with everything stig, my only worry is that we still pay players too much, are we turning into a retirement home for over the hill players. I feel Defoe has something to offer from a coaching point of view, but not as a player any more.
Morelos is not the players some think he is, I've watched many Centre Forwards over the past 60 years I've followed the Club, who were much better and more productive than him. I personally feel his overrated status at present is holding us back, yes, he scored a lot of goals 1st half of the season, because the supply was there, there is no belief in that team at present, and I don't know if that can be re-instilled by any Manager, also can we afford to change things again.
In conclusion, we need to get the Top Brass situation resolved, and the Kit Deal along with hopefully new investment put in place, that sort of stability would surely drift down to t he playing side, and remove the shackles a bit, we cannot continue to employ passengers with no self belief though, that's one thing we very rarely had to deal with in the past.

If SG was to leave then a new manager would need time to rebuild his squad and get to grips with making us the strength we all want to see. This will take more time and in effect will hand 9/ 10 IAR to them on a silver plate. Pure brilliant, not!

My opinion guys. I don't think there is an issue in the dressing room or behind the scenes. I think the issue is. There is a mental block in this team. Only two of our team has win cups of top flight with our team McGregor and Davis. The rest haven't win anything. Maybe that's the case that mental block of not wining cups is the block.
But I do think after last night performance Goldson should be dropped on Sunday. If he can drop katic for mistakes then drop Goldson. if he doesn't then we clearly know he's playing his golden boys.

Fellow supporters one thing to consider. In Gerrards first season we started well and collapsed after the winter break. In season two we are right up there with them and in all honesty should have won the league cup. Post winter break we collapse again. For it to happen once is unfortunate but twice is unforgivable!

Gerrard and his back room team came into the league with lots of top league experience with football played to a far higher standard and skill level than the SPL where 80% of teams defend and punt high ball up park. They also work hard through the game and tackle hard and rough up players. He will take time to suss this out and find the right player. If it wasn’t for the fact we must stop 10 would we be calling for him to go. Maybe a certain Mr Smith could offer some advice rather than Klopp as he has lived and breathed SPL and Klopp has only coached in the far superior leagues.

You weren't all of this post Jan were you and you I'll take back what I said about Morelos he's a much improved goalscorer.
What about Europe? Gerrard has done well there and an element of that is the style of play compared to shut up shop Scottish teams. We don't have the players most weeks to deal with dogged defences.
Hopefully fewer boys in the door next year Top Scottish players that know the game and a few players out the door.

I'm not sure what SG could have done different against Hamilton, he played 2 strikers, which a lot of dissenters have shouted for. We created tons of chances, just the players didn't convert them. He made changes at roughly 59, 64 and 74 minutes to try to influence the game, again something the moaners have screamed loud about - what more could the manager do?

Whatever is going on at Rangers currently isn, t right. Football, s simple game you need to be competitive, have strong defence and score more goals than the opposition! But why are we are not achieving any of these objectives at the moment? It, s concerning that our most consistent players are over the hill ie McGregor, Davis, Defoe, and apart from Barsic sometimes and Jack who can we rely on?
Aribo and Hagi are very talented gifted players but are not physical enough, Kent, s a decent player but inconsistent and wasn, t worth spending 7 million.
Reckon we need to completely rebuild our defence, bolster our midfield with real physicality and will need a new strike force because our Talisman Morelos will be sold in the summer. Basically Wilson, s got a real Job on his hands cause most of the rest of the players need to moved on for the good of RFC.
So our Board have some major decisions to make, do they ask Steve G for guarantees, also give him more funds and time to turn things around?
Also if the board give him their backing then Steve G and Wilson need to set out an achievable Plan and decide how they are going utilize our talented youngsters. Cause our Club is at a crossroads at the moment and it seriously needs to be sorted out before next season!

I agree it’s the managers job to get the players up for the game, but did you read our captains post in programme where he basically said Scottish football is to physical for this team and teams don’t give them space to play and they are not good enough for the league, now the manager can sing from one hymn sheet to the players but if that is the kind it losing advice he is passing on in private what chance have we, a captain should lead from the front push players to give their all not admit defeat before we’re even on the park and another thing why did Halliday have to give the press conference after that display he wasn’t even on the park it tells me we have no leaders in that team no one to step up they are going out on the park admitting they can’t win then when it comes to facing the media they are under the bed Tav for me is finished I’ll never accept him as a captain he just doesn’t have it I watched him last night he couldn’t get a ball across the he couldn’t get off the pitch quick enough time for a new captain who has guys.

I've said it for long enough regarding Gerrard giving the armband to Tav. A captain needs to be a leader and at least be solid and consistent on the park, Tav isn't. Even his stats for goals and assists isn't too impressive this season. He bottled it with passing the buck for the penalty in the LCF, a real captain would've grabbed that, sure.

Hurting as all Rangers fans are, but I believe that when Rangers play teams that park the bus we struggle badly to break them down.
When we play against teams that attack us we play better because we have more room to get in behind etc.
We done well in the Europa league because they all attacked us and put Celtic to the sword for the same reason.
Other teams in spl now play this way because we struggle to cope.
We are the same team of players that played before the winter break.
We have not changed other teams have.

Yes, but why has Gerrard not then adapted the formation to cope instead of still 433. If we have been sussed, which appears to be the case, then try something else. What also has been the case is that nearly every individual error gets punished just now. 2 v St J, 1 v Hearts and 1 last night for example. Other teams quite ruthless - why are we not taking advantage in the same way?

I'm trying to visualise Taviernier lifting aloft the league trophy at Ibrox and just can't imagine this ever happening.
Would accept just about any bid for him. He isn't reliable enough as a player and has cost us far too many times. And he's just not inspirational as a captain. Compare him to the likes of Greig and Butcher and he is a joke.
Decent enough going forward at times but we need a winner leading us if we want to stop 10IAR.

tav and goldson have been rubbish for ages. you can add kent most of time too. big shags at least tries although his legs have gone for me, but still a decent keeper. jones, doc, murphy, ojo etc keep getting chances because they show well in training.
training isn't playing v a determined team tho. you need badge boys who will at least be brave enough to have a go. need to get some of the forgotten and some youth lads in. polster never puts a foot wrong but is never near the team.
All the kids we promise they will get their chance? 10 mins at end of game the booted isn't a decent chance.

We "are" underdogs but still get beat, every SPFL team from the bottom up know how to beat us, unfortunately Stevie can't or refuses to see that.
All they have to do is sit back, let us attack, then lump the ball up the park as they know we will have no defenders up at our end.
If there is it will be Goldson who will help them to get the ba in our net like he does nearly every time he is near the ba.

To those after SG. Yeah your comments are valid. A 2nd year manager with limited experience is struggling to get his team going. Should he be there or not is really not an issue to me because that is the path the club chose. Chucking him now will do the club no good. My focus is who was the team from the first half of a season and who are the team now. By Dec 31 2019 they were world beaters. Today they are bums. The focus of ire should be the players. Defence was always suspect, Barasic and Tav are there for their attacking presence. Katic and Edmunson are young players and Goldson although capable can be inconsistent. The big difference is our goals for. It has fallen off a cliff. Morelos has dried up and the rest of the players don't know how to take a player on 1v1. Hagi maybe but he's still pretty new. I miss Candeias a bit. Not because he was a fantastic player, he was terribly inconsistent, but he was willing to take players on in 1v1 attacking. Our team has skill but they are arrogant and think skill will win out versus work ethic. Teams now know they can outwork us and they are giving us a showing up. Relatively speaking they remind me of Arsenal over the past decade, great possession numbers but no wins in domestic football. A change of personnel is needed, people with a bit more fighting spirit in them vs talent. I would take both mind you if we've got the money.

I honestly think the players are now scared to take any responsibility on the ball as the manager just criticises them at every turn he has even done it when we have won games. That's the last 6 month he has changed every centre half apart from the one that should be changed.

Of course the manager takes the ultimate responsibility for the players signed, team formation, tactics etc but there is no excuse whatsoever for players not giving 100% all of the time. I don't care what issues they may have going on they are highly paid, privileged individuals who owe it to the club and supporters to perform, entertain, and justify the super incomes and easy lifestyle others can only dream of. Get rid of every single lazy underperforming primadonna transfer them out to lesser teams and lower wages and I don't care if we struggle next season and are miles behind Celtic so long as these lazy overinflated egotistical gits are kicked out on their arses.

Lot of sack SG posts on here. Weve certainly hit a bad patch but don't think this is a managerial issue yet. Nearly every purchase he's made has been spot on just gelling them together issue. You could say this SG issue but there not children. There pro football players. Maybe decent captain, this might help gel. allyboy, I've been saying this for months, its slow, its predictable, no wonder opposition teams get 10 behind the ball, they don't have to rush to do it while we go sideways and backwards over and over again, and then when they do get it and lump it up the park, usually the right side of our defence will give them all the assistance they need. its heartbreaking to watch, but anyone can see it continually happening, apart from those in charge of our team apparently!

Hi Guys, few of my mates are rangers fans but I'm generally a neutral but I've been following the league closely this year so hopefully you don't mind me coming on and posting, would just like to share some thoughts on recent events.
No doubt about it it's been a sticky patch for a while but looking at the situation the thing I find more alarming is the players reaction to all of this, for me, if I was a rangers fan and ticket holder i would be embarrassed to have James tavernier as my captain considering his recent comments and lack of leadership qualities.
At the end of the day it's the players who need to go out and perform, Stevie g doesn't control that but it just seems he's lost the changing room a bit based on recent performances/ comments.
There's no doubt a clear out is needed and a change of captaincy is needed beginning next season as switching now will probably only cause more unwanted unrest behind the scenes.
Looking from an outside point of view it's clear as day ryan jack should be made captain and a team built around him.
He might be a good goalscorer but morelos is a total liability for the team so I think it's best to get the most money for him now if someone comes in for him and use it wisely to invest in a new spine.

Hello Mark, and welcome, I agree with what you've just posted, Tavernier is NOT in my book quality in any shape or form, he can't defend, he can't cross a ball, and apparently as per last night he can't score for 5 feet out. SG should make Ryan Jack the captain until May at least, and if it causes unrest, get those causing it out completely to the Develop Squad, I'm sick of these imposters purporting to be Rangers players doing what they like, and we have to pay for it, no more. What has always been the case, even when I played at Amateur level over 50 years ago, is once the team crosses the side line, it's up to them to carry out the Managers Plan, and those who don't get hammered by the Captain on the field. Another thing is that too many of our fans show disrespect to others who name some hardened SPL players as potential for us to improve with comments like, 'he's not Rangers Class', or, 'Is that the level we've come down to, my response is, What is Rangers Class these days, and, can we perform at any lower a level than we have since January, thank you Mark for giving me the opportunity to get that off my chest.

It’s also not fair to put young players in under that expectation and pressure. I think a lot of the time it's actually easy to manage a club on a shoestring budget, expectation level on players etc aren't as high which allows them to play the football they want with really not a fear of reprimand. That goes for the manager aswell, which is why you see guys like Tommy and Brian rice being allowed to continue to adopt their own style of management. It may not win them anything, it may not keep them up, but what it does is it let's them have their "big day" when it comes to old firm.
Inverness are another prime example, your Ross countys when they 1st got promoted. It's the unknown for teams not used to playing against system where they're being told to go and Express themselves on the ball, and when not just get behind the ball and do anything they can to keep it out.

Serious question - where do we go from here? I stated on here a couple of weeks ago in reply to the usual "this is a dip in form, we'll come good again, it's only a matter of time before Celtic have theirs" etc etc, that what if we can't come out of this and we struggle along like this until the end of the season and it certainly looks like that's what's happening now. I've read fans say we sell players and buy in quality, however:
1.Who do we sell?
2.Is there any guarantee that clubs will actually come in for any of our players?
3. If they do, their values are dropping daily with their recent performances
We are in serious trouble here - something is toxic within the club and the team is in free fall.
Now to the manager, when he was unveiled, DK said he ticked every attribute? Really, with the exception of management experience. But that was ok cause it's Stevie G and he ticks every other box, global name, great player etc. Surely no one can argue that he got the job purely because of who he is. To all the people on here who can't see past SG as they are blinded by his career as a player (of which there were outstanding achievements, but ZERO titles), in reality what we have is an untested youth team coach with no experience whatsoever of managing a top club, or any club for that matter, or even any experience of 1st team coaching. He seems a likable guy and clearly cares, BUT he is out of his depth and it's now showing. If we were watching this shambles unfold under Warburton, McCoist, Pedro, Murty then there would be mass protests by now. So please people, stop clinging to the hope that SG will fix this - I don't think he knows how to.

After listening to SG's post match interview, it is clear something has changed. No one was thrown under the bus, no great show of emotion. I hope this is because he has seen the big picture after his "long hard think" I believe he is a clever guy, someone with a hard fought reputation in the game that is worth protecting. I also hope this means it has dawned on him that the league is EVERYTHING, Europe is a wee bonus and he will change tact domestically to cope.
That squad need the sort of wake up call that, I hope SG has finally had! He has to drop JT, CG, SD, GK, RK for the next match, regardless if it weakens us as he HAS to show there are consequences for such abject dereliction of duty
Last nite I wanted him gone! After calming down, I do believe he will get it right. Sometimes you need the lows in life to see the way forward.

That is my main worry with him - he cannot see past his 433 formation. When I seen the team line-up it looked like a 442, but no - and Kamberi and Hagi out of position. Reminds me so much of Warburton's 1st season. Played decent stuff up until Xmas, then it was brutal to the end of the season, bar the Scottish Cup run. He stuck to the 433 and never had a plan B.

My tuppenceworth on what is happening.
Some suggest sacking the manager (an expensive option) others say no.
The fact is, SG has his own doubts Why all that media yak about decision withing 48 hours etc? Did that really need to be headline news? Could he not have just gone about his business without publicity. Just my take but I think he was putting feelers out to see if anyone from down south showed interest.
Many also want to keep him and back him. Fair comment but he has been given a lot of financial backing already and you can see what is on the field.
I said from day one that SG was not experienced enough to take on this job and I still believe that. He has lost the confidence and trust of the players by continually throwing them under the bus when results do not go his way.
I also believe that this job was always a short-term stepping stone for a job down south.
If the club does not show progress in Europe then that will be his departure card. Will he walk?

SG has definitely changed the way he deals with press conferences where he openly berated players. He is now saying that they need his support. Make no bones about it I am sure these players are getting it in the neck from him behind closed doors but i'm happier they are getting his protection. The players lack confidence. I have no idea why. A great first half to the season and a great run in Europe leaves no reason for these players to have lost confidence as they have done since the winter break. My only conclusion is that after the first half of the season the fans expectations rightly went up. Thoughts of 55 were relevant and possible. The players have bottled it.

That team is a complete joke Golson HAS to be dropped now and we have to try something else, and all I can think of is Katic and edmundson as I don't think Helander is back yet and mabey it's time to bring Wes back in goal there's too much players there are assured of their place every week no matter how bad the team play and Gerrard needs to change formation and tactics and mix it up a bit feels like teams can see us coming a mile off and are setting themselves up to deal with it really well.

Extremely disappointing result . That Hamilton game was horrendous, first win at ibrox in 94 years. I think I know what the problem is : we have too many players playing out of there suited position and formation, Hagi would be brilliant central in a 4-2-31, so he can do his left or right turns etc, aribo central but with a 4 -1-2-1-2 needs 2 guys behind him to shout to fkn run more etc, Tavernier needs a 3-5-2 which doubles with a 5-3-2 if he’s defending, need an extra cb to relieve Tavernier basically as he can’t do both defend and attack like Barisic . Kent needs a 4-4-2, he’s an old fashioned winger that can’t play as an attacking midfielder, not sure if defends enough to be considered giggs though but certainly can’t shoot for sht, for every 100!attempts he will score that goal v Celtic from distance, I’d sell Defoe and use Kent as our back up striker for away games in stevies formation but obviously Morelos first choice as he’s one the few I think playing in a formation that suits his game . Anyway right now I’d play a 5-3-2 / 3-5-2 away from ibrox using Tavernier and barasic to counter and three of our 4 centre backs to stop any stupid mistakes being damaging, also we might score from our corners more with 3 of our 4 centre backs on in away games, with Kent as substitute for Morelos. Would be worth doing as we still don’t have a natural decent right sided midfielder so may as well play 3 centre backs and allow tav n barasic to wreak havoc, they have both provided more goals and assists than anyone in front of them so why not drop Kent, put on 3 centre backs To allow Barisic and Tavernier more freedom in attack and Tavernier more protected in defence behind him? Anyway I’m just looking for solutions, but I reckon Gerrard will stick instead of twisting 🤔.

Not a frequent poster gents but long time reader. Just want to gauge opinion on this one: this is the same group of players who were winning games easily earlier this season and what has changed since then?
Did things change behind the scenes when we brought in a new director of football? I have not seen any benefit since appointing Wilson. Not saying this is the cause for our diabolical form but it's the only thing we have changed.
