Sturridge would score goals for fun so long as he's fit I think his wages would be a problem but then again we did get Defoe.

Defoe is on loan. We pay a fraction of his wages. Sturridge is free sgent meaning we pay full lot which we can't afford unless he takes serious cut. Always injured anyway. Pointless.

Come on guys, no way sturridge is coming to Glasgow. he would have to drop close to 100 grand a week to become our highest earner. think we all know he’s going to end up back with rogers at Leicester. don't get me wrong he’s a fine finisher but attitude and cost rules us out. if it happens then I will rescind every word but for me this is paper talk nothin else . Non starter.

Anyone else getting a bit perplexed by the claims from some of our fans that we are able to buy players for £4-5million, no problem. I'm struggling to see how they come to this conclusion.
Even if we got good money for morelos etc, it's not as simple as just saying we will invest the lot. Unfortunately in the Scottish league, it doesn't work like that.

We spent the best part of £10m last summer so we will likely spend more than that. We made £14m roughly from Europe. We don’t need a major rebuild. We won’t spend big on a sub keeper or 4th choice CB. A loan for Ojo seems likely. If Morelos or Tav leave we will get £10m min for each. The only positions we need to spend money on are LB, 1x CB, and a no.10 so why not spend £5m roughly on each of those 3 players.

we'll not spend £15m on 3 players and I'd be very surprised if we spent £5m on one player. I am sure we will spend money this summer but most of the potential windfall (Morelos/ tav) will be used to finance the running of the club. i. e no more loans.

As I’ve said we only need to spend on 3positions initially, and we’re hardly likely to spend less than last season. It might not all go on transfer fees ie one could be a high profile loan on big wages but the money is there so we will spend.

Also with a lot of free transfers the players are in a strong position to demand a huge signing fee as they know the club aren't paying a transfer fee. Sturridge strikes me as the type to demand that sort of thing. His quality is undoubted but he comes with too much baggage.

Dunno what you guys think of this but I think if morelos is sold for the quoted 20m then i'd try and sign Robert Skov he's tall powerful winger only 23 and scoring for fun 30 goals in 52 games for Copenhagen and he's scored 10 goals in 22 games for the Danish u21 team and has been called up to the first team (not played a game yet) . Due to not being In the English market his value is only 4.5m which we could pay. I feel the English market is far too pricey for the quality of player you receive. We should be looking at these sort of leagues because there in undoubtedly loads of players who aren't noticed and would absolutely tear our league apart.

He is a good player like many other in these type of leagues i also like the look of Andreas Skov olson winger/ forward 36 games this season 22 goals 4 assists.
And also another players that looks really good is Mads Pedersen left back/ left mid
There is a long list of players we could target from these leagues some have been linked with bigger clubs or bigger transfer fees but have yet to still makes moves from there clubs so could well be worth a look at these types of leagues for players.
Nikola Moro and Dejan Joveljic are great examples been linked with bigger clubs but yet to move on.
These are the type of leagues we should be keeping a eye on for talent.

unfortunately for McCrorie the 4 playing in a role similar to where he plays are all better than him. Jack Kamara Davis and Rossiter.
another SPL team should pick him up. He'll become a great player if he gets regular game time.

Some guys need a chance, there have been lots of gems.

If Morelos goes for in excess of £10m then we should be looking at Jay Rodriguez of WBA. Apparently he's available for £5m (release clause - I assume was added if WBA failed to get promotion to the PL)
Hope this is the calibre of player Stevie G is looking at, 29 year old, premier league experience and although he's had his injury issues he's scored goals wherever he's been.

He is a good player but 5m for a 29 year old is too big for us to pay when we probably won't get much out the other end. Could only see us spending that amount on a younger player with room to grow that we can sell on for a profit.
