We saved our better players for a cup final. Not to get injured up in shixodrie. kamara and borna available. A trophy win is what we need. especially against them. I would rather we win a trophy against them and win something, rather than them jammily score in the last minute and hit another treble.

Borna Barisic wasn't rested mate, he's injured and struggling to be fit for the final on sunday. He'll be a massive loss if he doesn't make it. Also kamara has to start in our midfield for sunday, simple as that for me!

Just my opinion don't shoot me. But I think we will do really well on sunday. I think last night we started great then took our foot of the gas and got sloppy. They will no on sunday that can't happen . If we start the way we did yesterday we will be fine. It's stupid mistakes that I worry about no formations or tactics can sort that. You could bring in katic and he makes the mistake. If we sacrificed a forward player for a defender like ojo or arfield and go 3 at the back. But doubt sunday be a time to experiment lol.

We shouldn't be taking our foot off the gas in any game mate. We should have absolutely smashed the sheep last night, when we had them by the throat! Against celtic in the betfred league cup final on sunday everyone of our starting 11, will have to be at their best, for the entire game, however long it lasts.
Have a feeling that ryan kent is paramount to us winning the league cup. I reckon kent will be the difference and his motm performance will win us the trophy come sunday fellow bears! 👍.

We have potential match-winners in Morelos and Kent and if Jack plays to his maximum he can control the midfield. A bit nervous about Tav and the central defence but at least we have McGregor in goal. We are perfectly capable of beating that mob, there is nothing between the teams this season. If Barasic doesn't make it, then Halliday should play at left back, not Flanagan. And if subs are needed to get late goals then Defoe and Stewart (not Ojo or Aribo) should come on. We can do it on Sunday so come on all you Bears, stay positive!

Some of these posts saying a draw last night is ok is utter nonsense. We were 2 nil up and absolutely cruising, Aberdeen couldn't get near us. Then we lost a goal and the heads went down. Time for the players who massively under achieved last night to stand up. Nothing but a victory on Sunday will make up for that performance last night.

Still hurting from last night results, Celtic apparently played poorly and got lucky.
Aberdeen were outplayed and were lucky to keep 11 men on the park and scored freaky goals.
Rangers were unlucky with some decisions and should have had a penalty.
Rangers played some good football in the first half and should have put the game to bed, after scoring two good goals we then seemed to play the ball in our own half, instead
of getting in to them.
Even if we win the cup I will still
be hurting a bit.
In Gerrard I still trust for now.

What freaky goals did they score? It was down to our worst centre half and some pretty bad all round defending. 2 centre halfs and tav have cost us time. and time again this season. Only just last week at feyenoord then hamilton game another woeful lapse in concentration. SG has spent 10mill on the defence and there still flogging crazy crazy goals constant. SG seems to like the pals act and some folk undroppable.

Cosgrove dhouldhave been off before ht. His goul on davis in first min was s borderline red over the top of ball. Not even a booking. He got 3 warnings fae ref, I counted 6 fouls before he was booked. Had st least another 3 2nd half.

i think it was nothing to do with pressure. I believe was purely down to the majority thinking it was job done and took foot off gas. Hard to get going again in those cases

Flanagan should be no-where near this team---even halliday would have been better and if barisic isn't fit that's who should play left back--the whole balance was off due to one position --and was before barisisc came on to a game---right footer does not a left back make.

To be fair to Flanagan he had played well in the LB role on a number of occasions prior to his injury. This was his first match back so ypu would expect a few nerves and ring rustiness.

Please tell me that there are Rangers supporters out there that can see we are being outpaced in central defence? Edmundson and katic are both fast and should be given a chance to play together. We need to prevent fast counter attacking play and I have no faith in our current defensive set up if this is to be achieved. I get the squad scenario and why it is important in order to sustain a season but come on folks, we are crying out for pace at the back. Also, a right footed player at left back? i'm not having that at all.

Trying to get there Kris but still struggling tbh . One thing that was 100% apparent Flannigan should never play on the left hand side again. He has absolutely no left foot and looked completely out of his depth. I actually thought he had a negative impact and unsettled the rest as the balance was completely off. Tav and Goldson have been the main culprits for dropped points for a long time now. Going back to Motherwell at the start of last season, yet both are apparently above reproach. and it scunners me.
Now this season the same cracks are appearing.
Celtic at Ibrox, First goal, Goldsons fault
Hearts, 1-1 combination of Tav and Goldson
Aberdeen last night Goldson again
Tav sold the jerseys against Young Boys and with Feyenoords 2nd goal, Goldson out of position then fails to make a challenge.
Both Players are simply not good enough and will cost us the league this year if allowed to continue making these mistakes without punishment from the management team by being dropped and giving Katic and Edmondson a chance.
I really don't care about this cup. Yes it will be great to win it, but I feel if we do win (and I hope we do) it will be simply a way of papering over the cracks of a mediocre defence.
Another point, Flanagan is not a left back, but you know where he can play? in a back three. common sense really when you don't have a left back.
3-5-2 or 3-4-3 would have run over the top of that mob last night. If flanagan is up against, christie and/ or Forrest on Sunday we'll get royally pumped. And Flanagan will be the scape goat.

Taking it tactics aren't your thing mate, maybe you need the day aff. With a back three you don't need pace, just guys that can position themselves properly and read a game. Finally, Aberdeen aren't exactly a pacey side are they? so going by your logic, a back three would have been the perfect tactic to nulify Cosgrove, whilst not playing Flanagan out of position and swamping and controlling the midfield.

I question our transfer policy where is our cover at full backs Tav has been poor for a while but there is no one to challenge him Borna has been great we missed his runs last night but when he is out it’s back to Flanagan he simply is not a left back and no pace then the CBs again no pace and Helender has had one good game away to Porto he doesn’t like the aggressive side of the game we have two good CGs in Katic and Edmiston who don’t get a sniff and Edmiston has pace Katic is for me our best CB but surely in transfer window we should have cover at FB I know we have the USA guy a contract but it’s obvious he isn’t good enough as if he can’t get a game ahead of Tav in the form he is in he never will with us playing one up top we depend on our FBs getting up the park to deliver but that leaves CBs open with no pace as for Alfie yes poor game I think the injury to his wrist is stopping his normal aggressive game but we didn’t creat a lot of chances last night and we should have had a pen but if it’s the same defence in CF I fear for us Christie will find space in our box but let’s wait and see.

We are all upset by losing 2 points last night to a very poor Aberdeen Team, but, the difference in Rangers compared to before Gerrard took over is fairly obvious, we have improved immensely. I honestly think we will beat them on Sunday by simple being in their face from the off and going forward as opposed to sideways and backwards, we have to also be shooting more from outside the box instead of trying to walk it in, in other words, someone with real balls needs to take control on Sunday, Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent are the two who can do this.

Now that the dust has settled and I've calmed down a bit. Hers my thoughts.
Our captain Tav needs dropped. So does Goldson. The jury is out for Hellander. he's more suited to Europe. It's clear that Tav and Goldson are the golden boys. If SG doesn't drop they two let me tell you we will win nothing. It needs nipped in the bud now. If we drop any more points and play like that again you can forget the league for a start. If I'm being honest we will be lucky to win the cup on Sunday. Play the 2 I've mentioned and we are doomed. kent 7m? Not a chance. If Borna isint fit for Sunday we need to play Halliday because Flannagin is another bombscare. For some reason Morelos didn't look interested last night. I have a genuine question :
Contrary to popular opinion, I don't think we played that well in the first half, Aberdeen collapsed as soon as the ref blew for kick off, we had them on a plate but even when we were in a strong attacking position, more often than not our midfield would stop, turn and pass it back, so much so that Kent and Alf were in and around our own box trying to get on the ball. Bizarre! If we had been more direct and faster we could have been 3 or 4 up at half time! So, do you reckon it was down to personnel or tactics? Either way I'm at a loss.

For all our possession / dominance in the first half we never really created a lot of chances.
And you’re correct - Kent was picking the ball up in his own half. It’s not where we want to see him with the ball. You want to see him running at defenders in the final third creating havoc.
Morelos was also poor last night.

Wow is that a sensible post on here. Never thought i'd see that day. Davis and jack both had bog standard games last night as u mention back passes etc Alfie was miles off it. Just one if those games it didn't click and we got a draw, better than nothing. Onward to Sunday now and win, our first trophy.

Well that was a disappointing result after the start we made.
Although we dominated I didn't think we created a lot of clear cut chances first half.
Anyway apart from the back 4 being terrible.
How bad was Ryan Jack? Not for the first time this season he gave the ball away in dangerous positions putting his defence under pressure - and not just the once either.
And Ryan Kent was very ineffective, with all his good work being done in the middle of the park and not in the final third where he is at his most potent threat. You could see he also missed the link up he has built up with Barisic in recent weeks.
And what can we say about Morelos performance last night? His worst of the season. It was like watching him last season where he spent most of the game on his ar$e.
And I'm still trying to fathom out the Katic substitution. If we've got to the stage of throwing on a CH for a corner then that's laughable tactics in my eyes.

Obviously not a great result last night considering we played so well in the first 30-40 mins. 2nd half we were poor.
Can drop points in far worse places than Aberdeen so it's not all bad. Hopefully gives the players something to think about and a boot up the backside for Sunday.

I am putting last night’s performance down to a few having one eye on the final on Sunday, I see this we were playing well for 30-40 mins really we were giving the ball away just as much as them Jack a couple of times and Morellos in that period, that second half players were scared to go in for 50/ 50’s and made that lump Ferguson look a player very frustrating night and why was Stewart not on we needed a bit more creativity against there 6 defenders we relied to much on Kent.

Waited till emotions calmed down after last night I cannot fathom the substitution of bringing on Ojo? Greg Stewart off back of 2 goals surely must have been the best option
It worries me the gaffer still waits too long to change things also the lack of pace in our CB pairing is scary
Having said that not sure changing them for final is best option unfair to potentially throw Katic and Edmundson in
Celtic again show that mentality to score so soon after body blow of losing a90th min equaliser
We had most of 2nd half and couldn't do it

Ojo is not a brave player. 5 mins after he got on ball goes up the line to him and he shovels it straight back to Tav. He doesn’t get brought on to do that. No bravery and no ambition.
Goldson and Helander are also a liability both with ball at feet and vs. pace but Katic is obviously not going to feature any time soon unless there are injuries. Disappointing how a game can change as quick as that and can’t help thinking Kamara for Aribo at half time might have help bring a calmness.

Good morning Bears. I think a dose of reality is required here. We have lost 1 league game and drawn 2 while Celtic have lost 1 league game and drawn 1. There is a 2 goal difference as well as 2 points. We are in the League Cup Final and looks like we'll be in Europe after Christmas. Surely nobody is expecting that we are going to win every single game we play this season? I know we should have won last night but we drew and in the end a draw away to the Sheep isn't a catastrophe. I agree with the comments about Tavernier, Goldson and Helander and don't understand why SG won't change the personnel. Tavernier should be taken off the dead balls as he is useless. Celtic are playing consistently but had their share of luck last night against Hamilton. They will hit a run of indifferent form before the season is out. Winning on Sunday would be fantastic but we MUST avoid defeat at the Piggery later this month to stay in touch.

Reality doesn’t help the fact we shouldn’t have dropped points to a poor Aberdeen side from 2 - 0 up. 👍
And consistency wins titles - not dropping points to poor Hearts and Aberdeen sides when they are their for the taken. 👍.

Maybe, but we've still only dropped 7 points this season while Celtic have dropped 5. Hardly a cause for panic. And we've no divine right to turn up at places like Aberdeen, Hearts or Hibs and expect to win. Get real!

Knew alter, one really surprised at your team, why tav and Goodson, them two were part of our problem last night, and if we are being honest about it them two have been our problems this season and last season, s. g. Said if players were not good enough he would replace them, we have got two players at the club, namely Vatican and Edmonton, so no need to spend, just show some balls s. g, as tav and gold son are never rangers quality.

Woke up this morning really hoping last night's result was a dream but no, unfortunately not. Looking at last night, I think that answers anyone who says we can cope without Kamara - we simply can't. Sunday's game now takes on huge significance now as if we lose then it could derail our whole season, so, the question is, does Gerard stick with Hellander and Goldson or does he change one or both? Edmunson for his pace or Katic who doesn't stop and go looking for a foul when someone looks at him the wrong way? Thoughts?

We must change the back 4 or its game over. They're a total bombscare. SG brings players in from the cold like Brandon Barker who then isint seen again. So please do the same with Edmunson and Katic.
