Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

05 Dec 2017 21:32:09
Aberdeen now kid on to "try everything in their power to keep McInnes" while they put together an offer for Strachan or McLeish. I'm sure they would just hate £800K for transfers. Wouldn't be surprised if this was verbally agreed weeks ago between the two chairmen. Another long winded saga dragged out by the media.

05 Dec 2017 21:51:54
has anyone got actual proof that we have even approached aberdeen for mcinnes yes we can all guess that we have but until rangers appoint him or another manager then we are all guessing. it is annoying the way the press are reporting this as rangers or aberdeen have never stated publically that talks are happening. ed what do you make of what is going on we read everyone else's opinions on the next manager but we have not read your's

05 Dec 2017 22:45:40
Aberdeen announced a few hours ago that they'd knocked us back. Up until that point you would have been correct though

05 Dec 2017 23:25:30
i put my post up before i found out about the statement it still does not excuse the fact the media have hounded rangers over the past few weeks when we have done nothing wrong we have kept it all private until business is concluded. the media in this country are a joke and always will be.

06 Dec 2017 08:26:33
They are just playing hard ball because our search was protracted and the speculation involved mcinnes. Jack ross to aberdeen.

06 Dec 2017 08:30:51
Its how they sell papers mate by running stories on the biggest club in the country true or false. if for instance a Hamilton or a Killie took 6 weeks to appoint a manager there would be a couple of paragraphs about it 4 pages from the back. come on u know how it works now

06 Dec 2017 09:59:26
Agree SG34 but with someone like Jim Traynor in the background, we'll if DM has been our no1 choice it makes sense to drop a few hints and lol 😂

05 Dec 2017 19:53:04
Aberdeen KO bid from rangers. I want a good manager and not an average one and I don’t think for a minute he could do any better than what murtys done so far so I’m ok with that and I don’t think anyone can honestly say that Murty doesn’t deserve a chance because the teams playing way better after just six weeks. give him another six and watch it only get better

05 Dec 2017 21:12:23
I agree, I guess we’ll never know now how things would panned out under Murty however I will get behind Derek Mcinnes and hopefully he can deliver a better level of consistency. His minimum requirements for me would be:

This season:

1. Clear 2nd this season including a points total above 65pts.
2. Continued development of young players in and around the 1st team.
3. Notable improvements in the players on the level that Murty has got them too.

Next Season:

1. More than 80pts accrued in the league.
2. Decent attempt at qualifying for Europa league. ( I can live with being beaten by teams with superior experience and budget)
3. Good cup runs.

Also moving forward from next season we have to be in Europa League groups minimum.

Don’t think these are unreasonable demands of a manager who has been feted by so many on here for the last 6 weeks!

05 Dec 2017 19:51:41
Now that Aberdeen have refused rangers permission to speak to mcinnes what happens now. does that mean for derek to be rangers boss strait away he would have to resign from them? Or does rangers keep trying to talk to him. I'm not 100% sure on what happens now. btw on another note that's Pedro just got a new job in Mexico. what's the chances of him buying some of the players he signed for us back lol.

05 Dec 2017 20:15:19
I don't think he will want the job now, but pretty sure he did before. Waited too long. He won't quit. Whether that's a good or bad thing only time will tell.

05 Dec 2017 20:30:36
now they go back offering compensation. they both negotiate . but dm wanting to go to rangers tips it in rangers favour

05 Dec 2017 20:40:49
So they let him speak to Sunderland so why have they refused us? Just seems all Scottish clubs seem to get all bitter and agree when ever we try to speak to a player or manager of there's.

05 Dec 2017 20:42:22
Aberdeen want the cash paid in full and not in instalments. They aren’t happy how its been handled and the impact it’s had on the team.

06 Dec 2017 08:20:42
Milne is just saying that so McInnes forces the issue then Milne can blame McInnes for forcing the move. Milne trying to convince his daft sheep support. McInnes will be in for the weekend.

06 Dec 2017 08:22:48
He 100% wants it. source: Charlie Miller

06 Dec 2017 10:36:25
"So they let him speak to Sunderland so why have they refused us? "

No conspiracy here. McInnes going to any Scottish team would, Aberdeen believe, make that team stronger and Aberdeen weaker. McInnes going to Sunderland would not have the same impact. Its' as simple as that.
Also, after the Sunderland approach, Aberdeen extended Mcinnes' contract and put in a release cause so that they control future approaches.

05 Dec 2017 19:47:05
Aberdeen have just knocked back rangers on there approach to speak to Mcinnes

06 Dec 2017 08:17:30
Great news!

06 Dec 2017 08:18:14
Tell them to stuff it. They have shot their bolt anyway

05 Dec 2017 18:06:52
To get all the supporters on board with our new manager we would have to land a top European/ British coach similar to when we brought in Advocat. Unfortunately we don't have the cash/ league statis for a manager of that caliber at the moment which is why the support will always be split no matter who we get. So based on that we have no choice to accept our circumstances and get behind the new man whoever that may be, 100%.
IMO, Celtic got lucky with Rodgers, right time and place for him/ them and a tim. Had he not been a supporter then he would be in the EPL and they would be hunting in the same market for a manager as us. We need a bit of luck, we are due some, surely.
Apart from WS is anybody aware of a manager out there we could afford that would get the vast majority of fans behind them. The closest IMO would be Micheal oneil, what's your suggestions.

05 Dec 2017 19:35:54
I think you are correct regarding status of manager we can now attract, l am not convinced DM is the right man but whoever it is l will support 100%.

05 Dec 2017 17:44:17
Can I pose a serious question is there ANYTHING coming out or Rangers that DM is number one target? Cause all I've heard is pure speculation.
In fact, on the contrary what I have heard is DM AND MILNE both stating robustly and PUBLICLY that DM future is at the sheep.

Am I missing something or is the factual finger not pointing at dm not being our number one target?

05 Dec 2017 17:51:59
McInnes will be named in next 48hr and Aberdeen to move quickly and replace him with Jack Ross.

05 Dec 2017 17:52:05
I know. I'm hoping that the longer this goes the less chance of it happening. I think we could do so much better and as a bonus not have to pay the sheep anything.

05 Dec 2017 18:09:03
Cudnt agree more Seeker!

05 Dec 2017 18:27:13
People have been saying mcinnes will be the manager in the next 48 hours for the last 4 weeks. I'm sorry but surely it's not him or the board wouldn't have took nearly 6 weeks to make contact

06 Dec 2017 08:14:55
DM is now 4 weeks closer to the end of his contract so our board will probably get a hundred quid off the compensation deal lol

06 Dec 2017 08:27:36
Haha belter. So true mate.

05 Dec 2017 15:25:02
well said Riffy 72

couldnt agree more.

05 Dec 2017 14:59:16
Oh dear. Too all of you suggesting fat man involvement (in any shape of form) are you all mental? He tried to ruin us. He played games with our club. He was laughing at us (the five loanees) . He is an odious creature, who treated us with utter contempt. Some of you are basically saying, oh but we're desperate for funds and to stop 10 in a row, so let's get anyone involved whose got some cash. That went well for us previously didn't it? Get a grip; the man was a danger to us and always will be. All of you seriously need a reality check - you don't do what he did to an institution you respect, so for goodness sake have some respect for yourselves, and think b4 you post this insulting nonsense.

05 Dec 2017 15:32:58
Mike Ashley is only interested in Mike Ashley not rangers just his pockets he could of been accepted by the rangers fans but for showing his true colours

05 Dec 2017 16:53:12
Dave King will never work with someone who tried to jail him wake up this is nonsense

05 Dec 2017 13:15:11
Here's a thought Mike Ashley decides to invest £30 million into rangers that £30 million stops 10 in a row hero or villain?
No matter what has gone if he and his cash stopped 10 in a row he's a hero can you imagine Al this sevco crap AND 10 in a row
all i'm saying is be careful what you wish for.

05 Dec 2017 14:05:12
10 to me is not the magic number. Who decided 10 is the be all and end all? I like the fact we have a Board of Rangers men who get the picture and entirely get what all the fans feel. Some things money can't buy.

05 Dec 2017 14:09:33
I wouldn't mind him getting involved if he wanted to invest to have his sports direct brand around the place that's fine with me as long as King and co are at the helm so that the club is safe. End of day if Ashley does want his brand in Europe or champions league then he will haft to invest so it's a win win for everyone. Will be a lot cheaper way of doing it for him and we get much needed investment.

05 Dec 2017 14:17:15
I'm sure most fans on here would wish to stop 10 in a row
Given as you rightly say we have a board of rangers me in sure it's thought about there as well

05 Dec 2017 15:42:24
DLC it's not about stopping 10 in a row rangers need to lay there foundations first and get there house in order before competing for titles there's a bigger picture don't be reckless to suit medium future all this Mike Ashley bs as well needs to stop

06 Dec 2017 08:07:38
No brainer if you ask me, if Ashley want to pump his millions into our club and it achieves us success then I'm all for it.

Let's not forget Ashley struck a deal with us previously which made great business sense for him. He's a successful businessman and the deal wasn't personnel in terms of damaging Rangers, our board at the time need to take the flack for agreeing to such a deal in the first place.

He could invest a fraction of what he's done at Newcastle and get us back to where we should be, challenging Celtic and CL football.

06 Dec 2017 08:08:49
Ashley would certainly be better for investment purpose than the current board. That is a given. The problem is there are just too many rangers supporters who think either the current board are the way forward or that we must have rangers men in control. i mean we are in the 21st century gone are the days the board or managers give a monkeys about the team or even majority of players.

The current board don't have any money hence why it has taken so long to get a manager. the current board have no idea how to run a business or football club. the current board can't even get a manager correct. and if it is mcinnes it will be another disaster from a rotten board.

06 Dec 2017 08:09:23
Sevco will continue to get thrown at us as long as people continue to react to it. A guy at work harps on about it to all the rangers fans but doesn’t say anything to me as he gets no response.

05 Dec 2017 09:42:21
Any rangers fan who would welcome back Ashley is a lunatic. omg don't use have short memories. the guy only takes he doesn't give. I'm 100% truthful here when I tell you. I wouldn't welcome him back even if he wanted to put 100 million in. the guy is a eat. just like his pals from the migils busses. they are all parasites who can bolt. I honestly can't believe any level headed rangers fan would want him anywhere near our club ever again.

05 Dec 2017 11:51:25
Agree

NO ASHLEY AT RANGERS

05 Dec 2017 12:05:07
Would only take Ashley’s money in the form of sponsorship etc. No investment or places on board etc.

05 Dec 2017 14:03:42
I wouldn't spend 10 pence in his tacky emporium. Leaving aside what he did at Ibrox, the man is a vile human being who treats his workers apallingly.

05 Dec 2017 13:53:57
Have nothing but loathing for the man and how he conducts his businesses. But I can see that if he sells NUFC and is looking for a ‘reasonable’ priced way to promote his brand in Europe (i. e. in European football) then sponsorship of Rangers might be a good fit? Cash helps us get back in to Europe and he gets brand exposure at a cheapish price for a defined period? Not sure how I would feel about that, tho the investment would be welcome. But definitely no formal positions or ownership - wouldn’t trust him with that for a single moment!

05 Dec 2017 09:34:28
I would like to thank the board for there thorough approach to find a new manager i think this is the correct decision altho it's taking a little longer then expected Dave king has done more good then bad to our club and rightfully they have been criticised for there mistakes but it's time the board step up in investment or hand it over to someone who can I'm sure no one likes being a clear second favourite we want to be seriously competeting for the title within the next 2 years and regularly crucially competing in Europe. That's my thoughts.

05 Dec 2017 14:00:15
Agree they should take a thorough approach. But my belief is that Aberdeen were approached earlier in the process and there was a Chairman’s agreement to defer any formalities until after the two games.
If you were in SM shoes, would you give up your manager to your closest rival ahead of two crucial games with them, when (if things had proceeded earlier) you would make yourself manager-less wand give away any poss advantage?
No, I think smart move would be to say yes, when we are ready to OK an approach and if you have the cash.
We’ll see.

05 Dec 2017 19:18:23
in business if a manager expresses his desire to leave they are immediately removed in case they do damage whikst still at the helm

05 Dec 2017 09:46:15
Tompo88, let me start by saying i'm not obsessed as you lot, or do i indeed interest myself by going on to other clubs sites! My totally unbiased opinion of the ryan jack red card against the sheep on sunday there, is that after seeing it in slow motion replay, it was a red card! But its not just black or white here, so let me explain.

Ryan jack first and foremost, didn't go in to hurt stevie may, he went wholeheartedly into the challenge and the reason it looked worse was the follow through! Into the bargain, may did himself no favours by drawing out the challenge and everyone who's played football, at any level, knows if you draw out any 50-50 challenge, at the last minute, you're liable to come off worst, and get hurt in the challenge!

that's my honest assessment of ryan jack's tackle and he was a bit unfortunate to be sent off! A wee pointer to you guys tompo88! You lot have short memories, as your club captain broony "THE LOONY", is one of the dirtiest players around my friend! He's getting it his own way just now, with his arrogant, bully boy tactics, but his day is coming (on the football field of course)!

I can remember our legendary captain barry ferguson sorting him out in ability and of course strength in the midfield! He could never do what he does now to baz, FACT! Baz used to roast him playing against him especially when he was playing for your cousins from the east! So you guys in glass houses my friend, shouldn't throw stones! By the way to my fellow bears out there, IMHO ryan jack will be a future glasgow rangers captain, mark my words!

05 Dec 2017 10:36:40
It was 50.50 tackle ryan win ball cleanly and yes follow threw got may gping 50 50 both players must no it going to be either me or him who gets hurt

As said ryan win ball cleanly in myel opinion never red ryan went to win ball and did he never jumped in to get may as his eyes were fixed on the ball and that it what he got the ball i would say red if his eyes were on may and went for him but he never so yellow for me

05 Dec 2017 11:49:46
In today's modern football it's a red card all day.10 yrs ago it's a great tackle. put it this way if that was Scott Brown that done that on Ryan Jack can fans honestly still say it's not a red card?

05 Dec 2017 13:01:00
I agree, as much as it pains me to say it, I thought it was a red card all day long. Jack knew what he was doing and he needs to sort this out as the refs are waiting for any excuse to send him off. If it had been Peanut Heid I would have been calling for a red card. Though the annoying thing, is he would no doubt have got away with it.

05 Dec 2017 19:24:32
Supcoop your opinion becomes null and void when u view an opinion as a FACT.
Whether 1 player is as good or better than another is not a FACT its an opinion which we all do on players.

05 Dec 2017 09:24:07
Can't help but thinking DM must be well pissed off with all this speculation going on. Rangers have perhaps played a blinder as it has unsettled the Sheep know doubt of that. Thought Rangers were good in lots of areas of the pitch.

Still don't think RJ deserved a red card. Watched it 20 times over on slow motion and it looks like he has gone in hard bracing him self for SM to do the same. No way could he pull out of the tackle.

Be nice to see some kind of fighting spirit against the unwashed in a few weeks time. The invincibles playing nobody decent for two seasons. Europe has shown how poor they are.

05 Dec 2017 11:46:37
It's not there fault the rest of us are crap. it's not easy to do what they have done. as a matter of fact their unbeaten record will never get broken. anybody who has played football knows it's not easy to keep winning even games that don't mean anything. listen hopefully we can put a decent side on the park next year that can have a go at them. if we get the right management in and add a couple of quality players we won't be far away. that's as long as every player believes in it and they all play for each other then we will be fine. let's hope it happens

04 Dec 2017 22:55:29
Fellow bears am interested to see how many fans still want mcinnes personally I do. So could you please tick the agree for mcinnes or disagree for som1 else. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

05 Dec 2017 12:07:49
Seems like it’s 50/ 50, they way it’s been been from the start of the process! No from me but there’s so much speculation now it must be true!

04 Dec 2017 22:16:25
How to people like Tam McManus become columnist's and pundits? Their careers hardly set the heather on fire yet they feel like they have the right to criticise others. Their have been many seasoned pro's who have plied their trade in Scottish football despite the standard being poor in the relatively recent past yet papers etc turn to that clown shoe. I wonder how many offers have been rejected before his appointments. He is the village idiot and has the intelligence of a half brick.

05 Dec 2017 09:50:15
Have to agree the standard is rock bottom. We have a couple of beauties too, how do Kilmarnock let Kris boyd talk so much pro us stuff while under contract is beyond me.

05 Dec 2017 10:16:19
So because someone's footballing career was less than stellar they shouldn't be taken as seriously as someone with a shedload of medals?

In that case, maybe this site should be closed down. It's a bit like saying journeyman players lack the capability to become great managers, which the likes of Mourinho and Wendger totally disprove.

Saying that, Tam McManus makes little impression on me whenever I hear him. I might be in a minority here but I like Michael Stewart, a very average player, who at least is honest and not afraid to have a go at the team he supports.

05 Dec 2017 14:11:43
Must admit Naz i like listening to Stewart. also i hate it when people say certain players shouldn't have an opinion because they never played at the highest level, well lads yous are more than welcome to put a list of the Clubs yous have played for and il see if you’re worthy of an opinion or not

05 Dec 2017 18:50:03
Michael Stewart played for Manchester United Naz. He played in the English Pemier League, UEFA Cup and Champions League. Man U won 3 league titles when he was part of the first team squad.
