Probably won't make Thursday because of head knock. Full scale assault on him by May - nothing given. Ball makes no attempt to play the ball - no card, not even a yellow. McKenna barges Morelos in the face twice - Gers man given red card for nothing more than a flick and sheep player - nothing. Devlin grabs Arfield shirt and presses his head into him - no red card. No wonder Stevie was so obviously seething at his after match interview. Instead of pish we would have heard from Pedro and Murty we heard an honest opinion on proceedings at the sheep pen. I agree with him 100%. We are going to have to be outstandingly better than everybody else to get a sniff at this title. Makes me sick that we can't get fair treatment from officials in this country. And before the much maligned unwashed come on here moaning that they have had it for years just remember that throughout your history, you have been awarded more penalties and have had less players sent off than us, and we are 16 years older. And to cap it all o hear McInnes come on and say his team deserved the draw! What effing game was he watching? Rocket of the highest order. Thank God we didn't end up with him. Rant over!

So today’s subs were a concern, 2 show ponies from Liverpool instead of perhaps McCrorie cost us the game, the team were fantastic today but surely the subs need to strengthen he team.

totally agree Bugeyes. i think the subs were more to blame with loosing the goal. mccrorie should have been on for jack and candeias for murphy. the same poor subs choice cost us the goal on thursday aswell. We took off a worker in candeias and replaced with a lazy windass, who was not goal side for the goal. Not having a go at Gerrard as such as i think he may just have to learn.

We were very unlucky not to win that game today. I agree we still need more quality in the last third, have been disappointed with Murphy since we got him, not doing enough for me . The way he runs, looks stiff and as if he's got a big jobby dangling from his bottom that needs wiped! Needs to step it up or he will be a sub every week.

Dissapointed with result today but struggling to find much we could have done different, some days it just doesn't fall your way.
Seen few comments that morelos could be done now at rangers. Could be wrong but I think that might have been first red in Morelos's career so a tad extreme to say that. He is a bit to hot headed some times and today was a bit silly, but never a red in a month of sundays - just needs a good talking to.
His link up play though is superb and must be a nightmare to play against. I'm not convinced Lafferty is the answer but they could form a good partnership and for half a million it's worth the gamble as he has the attributes we need.
Was impressed with Murphy today, his end product frustrating at times but will win us a lot of set pieces with his running and we look dangerous at them! Murphy, Kent, candieas, Middleton and Windass means we can mix it up as well - been a long time since we could look to the bench for a positive change to come on!

what game where you watching. its either murphy or windass for me both are luxory players we could do without. i'm highly critical of both i don't think we can play both at same time. personaly think murphy has to dig in and not disapear in matches. showed glimpses today but for me not a good buy and i no that will hit lots of disagree buttons. london jock.

One small criticism for me was I think we should have put McCrorie on when Jack went off. Apart from that I think Stevie was spot on today. Good performance and should have won comfortably with 10 men. Streets ahead of them.

Kent and candias look to be our best options for the wide positions at the moment.
The midfield 3 of jack, Coulibaly and Arfield look good and will get better with games.
Back 5 look solid so I’m hopeful that if we can get another striker and back up centre back in we should be fine this season.

I hope Morelos is hammered by the club after today's game! . yes he was provoked, yes McKenna should've been cautioned as well, but if That is how he is going to react to a central defender this season he will be sent off every game! . I'm fed up seeing his sulky petulant face and maybe a stint in the bench might change his ways. his actions today dropped his fellow team mates right in the mire and although hats off to the rest of the team for the display they showed and were unlucky to concede late on, I hold Morelos responsible! .

Who do you play up front while Morelos sits on the bench? Sadiq is still short of fitness. Windass? You'd be better starting every game with 10 men. Unless we sign another striker, Lafferty or whoever, we're way too short of options up front to drop the big man. It should never have been a red card and Morelos would almost certainly have scored had he stayed on the park.

Think rather than look at these incidents we have to ask why we are so short in the striking department. For a club like Rangers to have only 2 strikers 1 of which isn’t fit yet is worrying. We should have been out of sight on Thursday but had a nervous last 5 mins and had some good chances today. Going to be tough against Maribor as they are a step up from Osijek. It’s concerning about the lack of out and out goalscorers in outclassed squad.

A bit unfair to judge anyone’s attacking display today considering we played for 80 mins with no out and out striker. Hi bear. I agree Morelos let us badly down today and obviously Windass won the penalty but I genuinely couldn’t see what he or Murphy gave to the team today. Don’t want to be negative as this isn’t new team and everyone will take time to settle and get together but the two wide men for me were poor today. We badly need another striker. Morelos our for two games and Sadiq not fully fit either. If Lafferty is our main target then let’s get it over the line ASAP.

I've said on other threads I'm not too taken with ejaria. definately has ability but his decision making leaves a bit to be desired. gets caught on the ball far too much for my liking. The midfield 3 yesterday has got to be the 3 we play most weeks thought they were all outstanding.

Surely I can't be the only one who thinks Ryan Kent isn't good enough to be a Rangers player? Doesn't add much in attack due to him constantly losing the ball and when it comes to defending, he closes down well but is always afraid to put a tackle in after closing the distance. I think starting Candieas/ Windass/ Middleton is a much better idea considering 1) They are our own players, and 2) they are better players.

Obviously it’s early doors and I certainly hope my opinion on him changes as he is a Rangers player (at least for now) but I can only remember him having a shot deflected and saved against Osijek away and putting 1 decent ball in the box against Osijek at Ibrox. Apart from that he hasn’t really impressed me. However, football is a game of opinions so I may well be completely wrong on him.

Proud of the team today. We were the better team and had it not been for Morelos giving the ref a decision to make, we would have beaten Aberdeen easily I feel. They're not a good side.
On a side note, glad Gerrard is highlighting the refs give us nothing, creating a siege mentality. Celtic and their fans contunual crying about establishment and refs over the years has genuinely left the referees with a thought in the back of their minds that they cannot get a decision wrong and it turns out in our favour - in fear of the backlash. Time to reverse that and make sure the refs know we will be highlighting errors.

I fully appreciate our team has not been good enough the passed couple of seasons, however, this is a consistency issue. What Morelos was sent off for, you’ll see that plenty times a season, and you’ll not see red cards.

Aberdeen knew they didn't deserve anything, the way they celebrated getting a draw at home against ten men was unbelievable. Solid performance, ejaria is a worry for me, doesn't look sharp enough to me for the SPL, and windass is not a team player, especially in the second half, goes missing and makes dreadful decisions when he's in possession. Hope Jack is ok, he put in a shift again today. If El Buff is suspended then it will have to be sadiq, fit or not, or will Laff be back this week?

Morelos 🤬🤬🤬 first game of the season cost us there I like the wee man but if he goes down under that second barge it may well have been a sending off the other way! You can’t lose the rag barely 10 minuets in it’s just silly but the referee was ridiculous today and it looks like we’re going to be up against an extra man this season again. Credit to Gerrard tho said what he felt and stayed composed couldn’t have been easy and was spot on we were a level above the sheep today and with 11 men I think we would have beat them convincingly.

I heard Stevie Gerrard saying how important it is to keep all 11 players on the pitch. You coild say Aberdeen were playing against 9 men as Windass was missing again. I'm not a big fan of windass but to say he was lazy is a bit harsh. Chased everything all game, even chasing their goalkeeper down in the 87th minute. Won us a penalty and was no worse than Murphy today imo. The boy gets pellets on here no matter how he plays.

So first initial thoughts absolutely gutted and watching the game and Gerrard walking off the pitch he didn't seem that bothered because he knows he's got a really good team there in front of him, first of all we played against a team that had 11 men and I'm not going to start slating Morelos of because he should really no better than to retaliate like that and really karma bit Mckenna in the arse as he went of injured funny that. So before the game a draw yes I would have taken that and overall it was a great performance from Rangers and Mark my words some team is going to get a right good doing from us. No way I would have taken a draw before the game. This Aberdeen team is weaker than last year and were stronger. In the circumstances though I'm happy with a draw but gutted that they scored so late. Maybe Aberdeen are just tired from Thursday but if that's the best they can do against 10 men for 80 mins I reckon they'll struggle to get 4th place this year. Hearts And Hibs look far stronger than them.

Anyone else had this issue?
On Thursday I gave up my season ticket for resell because I couldn't attend the St Mirren game due to holiday.
On Friday the game is changed to 12th so I contact the ticket centre to say I can attend.
On Saturday they say my ticket has been resold and I can buy one on general sale from Monday.
It wasn't me who changed the game date so surely the person who got my ticket can get one of the general sale ones and I get my seat back?

I keep reading on here that young Middleton should be thrown into the team and left there and nonsense like kids don't suffer from burnout, and if they're good enough they're old enough. This is usually accompanied by examples like Messi and Derek Johnstone among others. In Messi's first two seasons in the first team squad aged 18 and 19, he played just 25 games (just 7 in his first season) . DJ, a big strong boy, played 17 times in his first season. I could go on. The point is, of Middleton makes a dozen starts out of 50 or so this season, we should be delighted as that would be a major sign that he was getting there. And youngsters do suffer burnout. I've seen it so many times, even boys who were burnt out by 18 with all the demands on them. Leave the lad alone and let the coaches get the best from him and gradually introduce him to the top level. We've got a player here, I'm positive of that.

I agree, a problem we've had at Rangers for a long while is burning out our good young players.
We see a good young player, throw him into the team as a first team regular and he'll either sink or swim, it's far better to introduce them gradually and build them up than just throwing them in and hoping for the best.
Poster child for this is John Fleck but there's plenty of others who were given a regular first team spot instead of integrated to the first team gradually.

I have to say that the team is looking good but think the Aberdeen game might be just a week or two early for us.
Aberdeen were pretty fluent against Burnley and clearly are a team that knows their roles.
Whilst I'm keen to see us get all 3 points I will not be disappointed with a draw or even a loss where we have played really well.
Think we will need another 6 competitive matches to really blend as a group.

My forecast for today's game at the sheepdome is, aberdeen 0, rangers 2.
I don't agree that this game has come too soon for us! I honestly think this is the perfect game for us, as a league opener! In my opinion Osijek are better than aberdeen and would have beaten aberdeen. I think under stevie G, our players most certainly know their roles and are at a very good level of fitness!

I hope you guys are right but imo although we look solid we have not really got the final 3rd firing 100% yet.
For me the final 10 minutes against Osejek were a wee bit like last year where we did not look composed on the ball when defending and their goal left us with a bit of panic.
As before, I am confident that we are not far away but Aberdeen are no mugs - I doubt they would have been beaten by Osejek.
No matter the result, drop the boos and the negative crap against our players.
