Shoot me down if you want, we played good in the first half against YBs and were well worth the half time lead. Indeed, you would have hoped to push on and finish them off. But a poor goal and injury to Jack knocked us, and we lost our way, the whole team. We had a draw in the bag but lost a hideous goal that as a team we could easily have prevented by holding what we had. Yes Tav made 2 bad mistakes, but we lost as a team. He is superb going forward and creates a lot of action in the opposition half, but like most defenders makes mistakes. He will know it, SG knows it, we know it. Let's move on to next game.

04 Oct 2019 23:13:14
tav is dumpling many more points do wee need to drop to see it 2 good balls in 20 out the park if borna misses a pass out the team same as katic young doc can't get on the bench yet that haliday does o a forgot he's a rangers die hard so young doc big diff that boy can play football its blatant sg has his favs.

05 Oct 2019 08:56:58
Mathew, Tav did cost us but actually the team cost us by continuing to press for a win rather than see out the draw, we had a few minutes to go and should have been defending resolutely rather than going for goal and if we had the chance to get up the park to take it to the corner flag to count down the clock.

so if you take it back to root cause then it wasn't tav that lost the second, it was the team playing for a goal.

05 Oct 2019 16:48:57
No it was tav.

05 Oct 2019 17:27:13
Defo tav fault both goals.

04 Oct 2019 17:27:24
Tavaniers mistakes have taken the pressure off Ojo he's got to be the worst I've ever seen in a rangers top . we get rid off Middleton a young hungry winger and play this dud.

04 Oct 2019 19:32:22
Ojo reminds me of gregg Wilde. That’s the worst insult I’ve ever given anyone. We must be getting penalised if he doesn’t play. I know for a fact that this was the case with worral. I love SG but that type of agreement is terrible business.

04 Oct 2019 20:33:41
Ojo= 16 games, 5 goals, 4 assists. Scored the winner against Feynoord. = Sh*te?

04 Oct 2019 22:28:44
Ojo has not been great yet hos stats far out weigh candieas. u must have a very short memory for terrible players. One of worst who had big rep i have seen is prob jerome rothen.

04 Oct 2019 23:18:17
He also shows some amazing touches, but mixes it with indecision, a good player in there just need SG to eek it out.

05 Oct 2019 00:55:39
Typical knee jerk reaction as soon as we lose a game. 😂

05 Oct 2019 06:54:13
Mr Grumpy

That’s the same stats as Kent over the course of lasr season. I assume you think he is sh**e aswell.

05 Oct 2019 10:13:22
No I don't think Ojo is sh*te Henderson, hence the question mark.

05 Oct 2019 14:11:01
I’ve picked you up wrong. Sorry mate.

04 Oct 2019 16:57:34
Boy at my work played at a decent level and said in his opinion Tavs errors look like he isn't fit enough. Last night's second one in particular and the lazy ball in the Celtic game where he looked dead on his feet. Both late in games, does he struggle with the higher intensity over ninety minutes in the bigger matches? Got me wondering.

04 Oct 2019 17:11:56
Nonsense. he's plenty fit enough just not at standard we require. Been the same since warburton day. More like serious lapses in concentration.

04 Oct 2019 20:27:31
But from Gerard’s comments in the daily record he is clearly in denial and as usual refuses to see the obvious which the majority on here can see.

04 Oct 2019 23:17:13
lol the reason he's still with he's pish playing in a rubbish league he's not got it to up his game.

05 Oct 2019 06:10:01
The problem with Tavernier is that he is physically fit enough but he is not mentally fit enough
He can not concentrate for a full 90 minutes therefore he makes mistakes in the latter parts of games.
This is the reason he is up in Scotland playing and not in England in the EPL. The teams down there need their players at the top of their game both physically and mentally every week and I am sorry Tavernier in my opinion is not at that level, that is why no EPL teams went for him in the summer.

04 Oct 2019 14:28:10
Had a debate with a celtic supporter last night, once both rangers and celtic europa league games were finished. I was stating how good alfredo morelos is and he will eventually play in one of the biggest leagues in europe. He said edouard was streets ahead of morelos, of course which i totally disagreed with. He also said morelos wouldn't b good enough to play in one of Europe's major leagues, but french eddy would. Again i told him he was talking absolute mince.

So fellow bears i'll gauge all your more valued opinions, than listening to his crap. ED, would you kindly run an alfredo morelos poll amongst all us bears? The poll should read, which top league do we think alfredo morelos will end up playing in, once he inevitably leaves rangers, ie. the english premier league, spanish la liga, the german bundesliga, italian serie A, french ligue one or further afield in the MLS in america? Thanks ED, would be much appreciated pal.

{Ed033's Note -

Alfredo Morelos poll

04 Oct 2019 14:52:26
Morelos is excellent in Scottish football, I am and always have been a big fan, but he has some way to go before he can be classed as a top striker in a top league. He misses too many chances that a really top striker would burst the net with. But he is young and improving, who knows.

04 Oct 2019 15:14:46
I honestly laugh when that lot say Morelos is way behind Edouard. Morelos is the Europa Leagues top scorer with 9 goals. He is also level with Edouard on SPL goals so far but has played less minutes.

04 Oct 2019 16:00:27
To be fair to morelos "The Muppet", i think morelos has improved yet again this season on his 1 on 1 finishing.
I think that's down to training beside a class striker like jermain defoe. He's scoring a tremendous amount of goals since he signed with us, so he can't be missing too many going by his scoring ratio. I remember ally mccoist used to get that thrown at him and look at the goalscoring record he had. I think some just look too much at the small negatives at times, instead of looking at the very large positives.
Alfredo morelos has an incredible scoring rate pal.

04 Oct 2019 16:07:35
Morelos one v one (composure) has improved, this is all down to his change in attitude. 👍.

04 Oct 2019 18:30:38
I think training beside defoe also coldo, has most definitely helped him improve on his 1 on 1 finishing mate. What a role model to learn from.

04 Oct 2019 19:45:47
Morelos over frenchman anyday of the week.

04 Oct 2019 19:51:48
Course it has mate but he had to change his attitude to be able to take advice because last season he clearly wasn't taking any advice onboard, until gerrard came out and said he can't defend him anymore after the game at parkhead. 👍.

04 Oct 2019 21:13:15
SGLoyal don’t disagree with anything you say and all strikers including the very best miss sitters at times but there are a few that were easier to score than to miss I’m thinking about the Columbia one and a few like that but he’s improving and his work rate is superior to that of many top strikers so that’s a big plus. I wonder what he could do if he wasn’t so isolated at times due to the lack of support from an attack minded midfield. Perhaps he would be sensational.

04 Oct 2019 21:34:44
What’s the point having a debate with them Coop! After the last weekends games the Tim’s in my work said it’s a conspiracy by all refs so we win the league? So what’s the point talking football to them as they totally hate us🇬🇧.

04 Oct 2019 23:35:16
I'd say that both teams have a claim to an excellent, young, goalscoring talent. Time will tell if one is better than the other, but at moment a close raise, so good luck to them both.

04 Oct 2019 14:02:03
Some folk need to bite their lip. Why is SG getting a hard time here?
Tav cost us, end of story and there’s nothing SG can do about his mistakes.

I see folk giving him grief about team selection, if it finished 1-1 would you still be giving him grief? and don’t forget the keepers wonder save in the last minute and the stone wall penalty we were denied. That could have been 3-1 to us, would folk still be giving him a hard time then?

Yes Tav cost us and Yes some player need a kick up the backside big to blame SG for last night it ridiculous.

04 Oct 2019 14:07:13
If it had finished 1-1 it still would not have taken away the fact that it was a poor performance. Rangers should have beaten Young Boys, they were there for the taking, unfortunately we were every bit as poor as them, and the manager has to accept responsibility for that. Went there too cautious on the back of a good performance against Aberdeen. Should have kept the same side and came out the traps all guns blazing bursting with confidence, instead we couldn't pass the ball to save ourselves.

04 Oct 2019 15:13:23
I was surprised that we didn’t run the clock down and settle for the draw. We piled our players into there box for free kick at the end instead of putting the ball into the corners and seeing the game out.

04 Oct 2019 16:48:22
Jaws you are correct we were very naive and should have seen game out.

04 Oct 2019 16:56:04
I can't agree with anyone who flags up two incidents 20 minutes apart that could have gone our way and says it could have been 3-1 to us. If the penalty had been awarded the morelos chance at the end wouldn't have happened. The game would have gone down a different path.

04 Oct 2019 13:22:10
Morning Guys, I understand we are all hurting today, I certainly won't apologise for what I said concerning Tavernier. A point I would make regarding SG, if, he has any aspirations of being Liverpool Manager some day, he has to really look at Jurgen Klopp, he isn't afraid to bench his captain Jordan Henderson, or sub him when needed, that's what separates a terrific Manager from a 'could always do better' type of Manager. We should play Polster at right back on Sunday, and give Davis the armband, as Flanagan is still not ready to play yet. We can, and I think will, still win this group, but SG has to make the tough call, not so tough as I see it, and drop Tavernier immediately, also play Katic on Sunday. I hope Jack is okay, I haven't seen any reports today, but King will be an able deputy.

04 Oct 2019 14:10:10
Irvger I agree with all you say except for winning the group. I think Feyenoord will top the group, Young Boys will come bottom and its between Porto and us for the second place. We have to take at least 3 points from the two Porto games as we are away to Feyenoord next time and that will be very tough.

04 Oct 2019 16:02:31
Hand on heart i think porto will win our europa league group and it will be between us and feyenoord, to see who finishes runner up.

04 Oct 2019 17:00:05
The biggest game for us will be Porto at home if we can win that we have a chance. I don’t fear Young Boys at all. We will more than likely need to pick up a point away against Porto or Feyenoord.

04 Oct 2019 178:44:24
I think the double-header against Porto is the key. They are an experienced team in Europe. 4 points from these 2 games and then we might qualify. We should beat Young Boys at Ibrox. Win our 3 home games and we should do it but at the end of the day, the league is more important and we were never going to win the Europa League anyway. SG is still learning but stop tinkering!

04 Oct 2019 13:14:35
Just wondering if anyone has facts for the following:

1. How many games have we lost or drawn this year when Tav has played?

2. How many goals against us was he culpable for?

3. How many goals for us was he actively involved in?

Also, can anyone say why SG trusts Tav as our captain and starts him in every game?

04 Oct 2019 13:53:47
The same reasons worrall played every game🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️👍.

04 Oct 2019 12:20:51
Honestly lads a wee bit of perspective is needed on here, last night we lost to the Swiss champions who haven't been beaten at home in a calendar year, and they have played better teams than us. A few seasons ago we were struggling against teams like Peterhead and Alloa. We should get behind the team instead of slagging them off anytime we fail.

04 Oct 2019 13:55:42
So because we were rotten a few year ago we have to accept mediocrity today, brilliant🤦‍♂️👍 that game should have been won last night. End off👍.

04 Oct 2019 14:11:27
Swiss champions or not they were very poor last night, and I hate to say it but Celtic would have taken them out.

04 Oct 2019 17:04:26
Glass half full. Yes you’re right and we’re still tied at top of group which most would have taken two games in.

Glass half empty. They were there for the taking and it was school boy stuff.

Depends on which perspective you choose to take. The biggest thing that annoys me is that certain players are immune to being dropped ie Tav and Goldson. Katic must be scratching his head wondering what he’s done wrong. And if Polster doesn’t play against Hamilton, he never will and what was the point of signing him.

04 Oct 2019 17:21:23
We are 3rd blue89 not tied at the top. Goal difference and head to head mean we are 3rd. that's a realistic way of looking at it👍.

04 Oct 2019 17:41:59
The negativity is unreal, I don’t think some people on here understand the meaning of support, if the team is doing well then you support them, if we lose you slag them off, get a grip and get behind the team.

04 Oct 2019 18:03:47
How can we improve if we don't identify gaps in performance? Its not negative to call out a bad team or individual performance. What is negative is pretending that it all was and we were just unlucky. That is called making excuses and if you do that like the way you's did under warbs pedro and the majority of last season then we will continue to play 2nd fiddle. 👍.

04 Oct 2019 21:18:35
I’m with Coldo on this one.

05 Oct 2019 01:16:32
Muppet and caldo.! its all about perspective and if you are a glass half full or half empty. I thought we played great last night. really missed jack when he went off and I think the result would have been in our favour but for that injury. Really missed his dig . I would have tried to shore it up at back instead of Stewart .

but hey guys it’s one game . cut a bit of slack . We can’t be so fickle with results surly. one week you think we are brilliant and moving in the right direction the next after one defeat the world is caving in? Find a bit of maturity friends . we can’t have it all our own way all the time . granted we should have won but that’s football. we played great and lost. we go again.

05 Oct 2019 01:45:49
Our club and team have been through the mill, our captain has hardly missed a game, a couple of mistakes and you want rid, back the team, do not berate them.

05 Oct 2019 09:45:31
I thought our midfield dominated for large spells. Again tho we were undone by individual errors and poor individul performances and at this level that's just not good enough. We lost a game we should have won, Glass half full or empty👍.

04 Oct 2019 09:22:48
Guys first time commenting

Tavernier has been poor for weeks this has been coming, very evident these days that candeas is a bit of a loss to us through his energy and covering tav, bigger issue for me here is that goldson is still in the side, he's very poor gives the ball away Constantly he's shocking in possession, katic not put a foot wrong all season, not lost a ball in the air and dangerous attacking set plays, time for katic and edmunson to be given a go, possibly when we're struggling in wide areas the now could b an option to play tav in front of flannagan on the right side, or give both tav and goldson some time out the side

Any thoughts?

04 Oct 2019 10:27:43
Tav has been pretty poor this season, no more so than last night. Am not sure about Candias, think some are forgetting how up and down he was last season. Katic is our best CH.
Despite being poor last night, I think we've still got a great chance to win this group.

04 Oct 2019 10:46:42
It was a mistake mate to sell candieas, it was a mistake to play ojo and it was a mistake not to play katic. With the exception of kent we haven't signed anyone that improves the first team. Morelos is like a new signing. Thank god he sorted his attitude out👍.

04 Oct 2019 11:44:48
@coldo - you forgot about Lee Wallace and that's you got the Rangers Bingo full house! 🤣.

04 Oct 2019 14:15:26
What?

04 Oct 2019 14:17:27
I agree Flanngan should be given the right back position he has done well playing out of position on the left, so why don't we play him (after return from injury) on the right and drop Tavernier. Gerrard has never tried this from day one, which along with the reluctance to introduce subs at crucial moments makes me think he is lacking as a manager, certainly at the highest levels. Also agree Goldson is playing poorly, and we have Katic and Edmundson not getting a game.

04 Oct 2019 03:12:13
On last night's game. I stated b4 kick off that changing Katic could poss b the wrong decision. I thought helander played ok but the defence just looks disjointed and all out of shape. I think Helander and Goldson are to similar in styles, were katic offers something different.

I have in the past tried to defend Tav but his mistakes in big games have cost us 2 many times and it's mainly him. SG highlighted in his presser 3 occasions the dims killy and tonight where tav was at fault and cost us the game. He now needs to grow some and drop him. Give Polster or Flanny a shot.

Ps hope Jack is ok as he was the best player on the park b4 coming off but if not. I think we can manage without him for Hamilton game then international break, gives him time to recover. Kenticals and Jones will also be back.
And I would rather we lost in europe than in the league.

04 Oct 2019 10:29:12
That was an average team that beat us last nite, down to SGS tactics again. how many mistakes is he going to make? oh, he'll learn from it, but too late to fix.

04 Oct 2019 01:09:31
Never been one to Slag Tav but he ain't a dependable full back. Would like him further forward in front of Midfield three in a shape I don't know. But we have a proper captain in waiting in Davis.

04 Oct 2019 09:13:30
Miller who u drop to accommodate tav. no one in my opinion.

04 Oct 2019 09:25:40
certainly struggles defensively at this level alas, but he has still been one of our best players, and still is. puts in a shift too. Maybe he needs a rb coach to work out his deficiencies .
Goldy wasnt great either. Its a team game and we all didn't hit top form, but still could have won it.
Think its a sign of how far we have come tho. more to follow hopefully, as you can learn more from defeat sometimes.

04 Oct 2019 14:19:26
Tav in midfield? are you crazy? We need someone like Ryan Christie in midfield!

04 Oct 2019 16:18:39
John, as said I don't know.

Review Of The Day 4th October 2019

04 Oct 2019 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 4th October 2019

04 Oct 2019 09:17:30
Guys tav has not been doing it for weeks now, for me the bigger issue is goldson, watch him closely he Constantly gives the ball away cheaply he's very poor in possession, he needs dropped personally I think we should give katic and edmunson a go, katic has been flawless all season not lost a ball in the air and very dangerous at set play, the young boy for Liverpool is way out his depth and its very evident to me that candeas is a loss to us at the moment.

04 Oct 2019 09:31:26
You clearly didn't watch Katic against Livingston at home. He was horrendous. Got bullied off the CF and hardly won a header. However, I agree that Goldson and Tav have been a nightmare for most of this season. Gerrard seems to have his favourites that won't be dropped.

04 Oct 2019 09:40:08
I know stats don't tell the full story but Goldson has won more aerial duals than Katic this season. 👍.

04 Oct 2019 10:31:46
Katic is the best CB we have👍.

04 Oct 2019 12:48:48
Coldo Katic is 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺👍.
