I don't get the welcome back Charlie Adam and Danny Wilson brigade. Why? I mean Wilson got to as soon as he got the chance and fat Adam wouldn't keep himself fit enough to sustain a run in the team. The only reason he got fit was by being forced to play every week.

Why has'nt graham stack been hauled up for his attempted elbow on lafferty on saturday?what's the difference between his and naismiths? Is it celtic had a free week and there was hope that by banning naismith rangers best player so far this season for two games there was a hope we would drop points? {Ed003's Note - I would say no,but I havent seen the incident maybe you're reading to much into it}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

II seen the incident and I cant believe that Naismith`s `offence`was any worse ,and if he deserved a two game ban then the Hibs keeper should have received the same punishment, this is not just sour grapes honestly!

Agree2 Disagree1

Can you imagine the outrage from the paranoia bunch if this had been Mcgregor.

Agree3 Disagree1

Just seen the replay again on this one and tbh its not as clear as the naisy incident. However i thought that swinging an arm was classed as intent whether it connected or not?

I personally think the SFA are going to ban O'Connor for simulation and Hibs would revolt if they lost a 2nd player in the same week. But a precedent has been set now.

Blue Bear

Agree1 Disagree0

They were nothing in the Stack's slap. The difference between Naismith's and Stack's was one nearly took someone's head off the other was tapping someone's stomach. You know fine well what the difference is your just SH*T Stirring.
BBear

Agree1 Disagree3

I know why he was banned I just wanted to get in on this conspiracy garbage the celtic guys spout but the incident was just as blatent and nowt has been said

Agree3 Disagree1

BBear....... rules are rules, Lafferty did nothing more than land on Stack, and stack lashed out with a clenched fist.....The only reason nothing has been done is because this wasn't a live game with three or four camera angles on the incident. (Or andy walker mentioning it every 5 minutes) If the ref saw it he would have been ordered off, end of story. If it wasn't as bad as naismiths, it was 10 x worse than Johnny Russell from Utd on Broadfoot.
The SFA must either punish them all or none at all.
As soon as I saw the incident I thought it was a no brainer, two match ban....like Naismith. Every incident must be looked at on its own merit and not compared to lesser or worse incidents from the past.

Friendly with Liverpool on October 18 @ Ibrox. Will be good seeing Charlie Adam back at Ibrox. £25 a ticket bit steep for a friendly. Weird time for a friendly but could be entertaining.

Source Evening times

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Will it be on TV?

This game is in place because neither team will have European fixtures, it'll be on the net somewhere but come on get yourself a ticket and welcome Charlie and Danny back. I'm looking forward to seeing Suarez, fantastic player!

Is it not £20 a ticket? Although it is still quite a lot.

GovanFR

Agree1 Disagree0

I'll pass on this rip off. A friendly a third of the way through the season? Liverpool won't play all the top guys and it'll be a boring waste of money with nobody on the pitch fully committed. It would end up costing me around 70-80 quid for me to take my two kids to watch a glorified kick-about.

I made this suggestion as a response to a post last week. Would like to know what you think about it fellow bears?
The post was about doing away with league cups in Scotland and England and compining them, this was my suggestion.
A competition involving the top 6 clubs in SPL, the 6 teams outside the european places in EPL, the 5 teams that failed to win the championship playoffs and the best relegated team from EPL. This would eliminate meaningless games between premiership teams and league 2, and SPL and Division 3 teams while enhancing a cup by only having a certain calibre of team involved. Potentially you could have a competition with Rangers,Celtic, Motherwell, Dundee Utd, St Mirren, Hearts, Bolton, Everton, Newcastle, WBA, Fulham, Wolves, Leeds, Nottm Forrest, Cardiff, Blackpool, Derby and Blackburn. I'm sure Sky TV would throw money at this as they could build a whole Scotland v England thing and i'm sure finding a sponcer wouldn't be a problem. Thoughts?

WATP 70 you're the plum mate. As stated McKay has played as a CM his whole career. Where was McKay at the weekend?? Coisty and Durrant have stated he is a CM as has Charlie Miller and Craig Moore. Me thinks they know a bit more about football than you mate. You know eff all. You keep banging on about him like he's the new Maradona, he's 28 and played his whole career in Oz and cost 350k. Aussie player of the year means nowt, Sebo was player of the year for his country remember and he was fantastic wasn't he. McKay's a squad player, no more no less.

Agree6 Disagree0

Yes I bowed 2 your superior knowledge the other night 2 he came on at tannidice left mid replaced wylde, he plays left mid for australia & was voted aussie player of year ahead of cahill who is a great player, I never once said he was maradona but I have seen him play for the aussies & he is a great player but you must think wylde is like messi a bit like your boxers the now, sorry 2 upset you my friend calm down as the scoucers say away change your panties

With Hearts at Tynecastle coming up we should get Ness back into the starting 11. Edu has always been rubbish at Tynecastle and Ness was outstanding they're last year.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

And why would we want to do that? edu's in fine form .. ness has only played 45mins of football in months. we dont want to end up like them by changing the team over and over when there's no need at all. if edu's not upto it then bring ness on but we should keep the same startin 11 as long as we can.

With all the talk of Atlantic league etc here's my idea on the concept,

2 teams from five leagues qualify dependent on finishing in top 2 of home league.

These five countries withdraw from champions league and Europa league.

10 team league playing each other twice 18 games total. Playing on weekends throughout season.

Current leagues still exist to gain qualification to tournament although clubs in tournament have there games rearranged to Wednesday nights.

Smaller spin off competion for 3rd & 4th placed teams from the five leagues and also domestic cup winners which equals 4 teams from each league 20 teams total. They get split into 4 groups of 5 teams and play each other twice 8 game total from group stage. Top 2 from each group qualify then go on to a quarter final semi final final format playing home and away in quarter and semi finals. 13 game total for finalists.

Current proposals to downsize spl to 10 teams playing each other 4 times with no split. 36 games total. Although the possibility of 6 teams of qualifying for Atlantic competition dependent on cup winners.

Five leagues involved would for me have to be

Portugal
Holland
France
Scotland
And I would ask the Germans in hope that they agreed, although they seem to be open to change in the game ie the return of terracing in the bundesliga.
If not Germany then it would be Russia for the large audience.

I believe removing these countries from the champions league would damage the competition and affect the tv money directed to it.
The Atlantic league will be attractive for the countries involved and it would receive decent tv money in my opinion.

For rangers this could mean the possibility of 18 European games a year plus a possible couple of old firm European fixtures 6 of games minimum which has to increase revenue avenues for the club.
A European competition that would be competitive and we may be able to win.

Thoughts anyone?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

That's nice just disagree offer no input whatsoever just put our heads in the sand and pretend that the champions league is the promised land. The same competition that virtually gives 16 teams from the top 4 leagues half of the 32 teams that take part. This competition has made a mockery of the countries I have mentioned and their clubs who used to win the European cup regularly. The introduction of numerous qualifying rounds just to ensure the big countries get there spot in the competition is a farce. Remember we got to the semi final of the first champions league when in a different format. It's current format has ruined the leagues I have mentioned. Leave them to it I say and breakaway from it cause they clearly don't want an Ajax or a Porto to win it.
But yeah let's all just disagree on an idea for change and enjoy the next ten years of the European abyss as we get made to qualify through 3 and 4 rounds before the season even begins. Great idea

Agree0 Disagree1

Ur token bout makin a kinda champions league tournament n Europa league tournament from the s**ttier countries. Who's gony want to watch tht wen they cud watch champs league. Wudnt make much money. Porto won the Europa league last ur an they won the champions league and uefa cup a few yes ago do y wud they pull out. Ur idea is b****cks. 10 outa 10 for effort tho

Agree3 Disagree0

So you believe 40 other european leagues fighting for 16 places in champions league is fair? Do you believe rangers fans or Ajax fans would choose watching the champions league over watching there own clubs participation in another comp? Don't be daft, the reason I said the games should be on weekends is so it wouldn't clash with champions league fixtures. I think there would be interest in the competition we are talking about a league of ten formed of a possible
Rangers
Celtic
Porto
Benfica

Agree0 Disagree0

Oops lol

Ajax
Psv
Lyon
Psg
Bayern Munich
Dortmund
While the second tier comp would have the likes of sporting Lisbon feynoord Monaco werder Bremen hearts.
The fact our owner has come out and said he is looking at other options league wise it is safe to say he thinks the money in a competition like this is greater than we receive just now.
I also think in time this would improve the standard of the home leagues as your hearts Dundee utd etc have something worth playing for, the cup comps both receive a euro place increasing the importance of the league cup again and generally a wee boost to the economy with fans from 6 clubs travelling to away games and tourism from opposing fans visiting Scotland.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mention Porto winning the champions league now cast your mind back and remember what happened next, Chelsea billionaire steals there manager and buys half of their team, they then rebuild over a few years then win uefa cup again along comes Chelsea billionaire steals there manager and the team gets broken up. Yeah Porto love the league they are in, I don't see the barca squad getting broken up and sold piece by piece and their manager being poached after they won the champions league, yep I agree with you footballs fine the way it is. Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the idea of an Atlantic League, However the reason it may never happen is that should it come to fruition, then the G14 group and other big players would systematically form their own super league and break away entirely from UEFA etc. Which they are continuously discussing now by the way.

Probably the same reasons why Rangers will never play down south.

GDog
WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Clubs that may be involved
Rangers
Motherwell
Ajax
FC20
Benfica
Porto

What do you think of clubs from Scandinavia?

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind the scandavian countries involved but that would increase the number of teams in the competition therefore increasing the number of games each team would play in a league set up. I feel if more than 5 leagues were involved it would be to many games therefore meaning rangers withdrawing from spl altogether. I don't think any of us want that really. I think 18 games in a premier atlantic league and 13 in the secondary competition is sustainable and allows these countries leagues to survive and maybe even prosper due to increased popularity and competition. {Ed001's Note - what about having that as the top flight above the SPL? With a regular promotion and relegation to give teams below a target to aim at.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That's it Ed start debating these things as we need a change. I never thought of it that way how would it work with many countries involved? The only time I have heard about an atlantic league involves the old firm leaving spl altogether. To me that would mean around 18 away games in Europe for fans to travel to which I think is excessive

MASSIVE COURT DECISION MADE TODAY AFFECTING SKY SPORTS AND FOOTBALL!

A landlady from a pub in Portsmouth has just one a case by appeal in Luxembourg giving her the rights and everyone like her, to show live football matches by using a foreign decoder. Basically without subscribing to Sky, which was until now illegal. The decoder she used was from Greece.

This could impact football down south and north in a massive massive way. Of course I would expect Sky to appeal.

However there in nothing stopping anyone now following her and many like her's, lead and watch football with other decoders. This coupled with internet could open up football in an entirely different way.

Football clubs are already meeting to discuss breaking away from UEFA. Could they now push to control their own television rights?

The court case source was Talksport.
