Julian Speroni out of contract at Palace. Great addition better than Fuderingham. Agree?

04 May 2016 21:29:55
Great goalie. Would be a terrific signing.

04 May 2016 21:26:30
Brede Hangeland too, I think.
Just the type of CH we need.

04 May 2016 21:48:33
Foderingham a great shot stopper as proved u can put any goalie in there and way we play out from back would trouble them. punt the ball up park no bother but that not how we play.

04 May 2016 23:12:36
Foderingham is a liability and too easily beaten. If we want to genuinely challenge Celtic next season then we need a much better keeper than him. Last season Bell was slaughtered for making less mistakes than Foderingham.

04 May 2016 23:54:46
you having a laugh Wes is twice the keeper cammy will ever be, he's saved us a few times this season.

05 May 2016 02:31:23
With the ball at his feet Wes is possibly the best Rangers keeper I have seen and his distribution really suits our new style of play. When you think about how early in the recruitment process MW signed him you have to acknowledge this aspect is integral to how we are wanting to play. The downside is, he is a total nightmare when the ball is in the air in our box - just not good enough. Wes comes across as a genuine hardworking professional, who let's face it had the courage to come to Glasgow
to further his career but I fear is not good enough for the next level. McGregor, Alexander and Bell in his Killie days were all better keepers. We definitely need 1 improved centre back for next season which will assist the keeper. A quality defensive mid will in turn help the centre backs and the keeper but the simple truth is the defence needs to tighten up and that definitely ends/ stops with the keeper. (Remember Woods, Butcher, Roberts? Though shalt not pass - as long as I still breathe! ) . If we got 2 new centre backs I would not be too upset and at the risk of upsetting everyone else of the 2 we have I prefer Wilson; think he is much more of a footballer. Needs to tidy up his act a bit but let's not forget at 19 he was on his way to Liverpool, and last season he captained a Hearts team that didn't stutter over the finish line like we just have (and that is not withstanding all the rhetoric that, that is exactly what we would not do) . With the exception of Kenny no one in the team has the playing experience or pedigree that he has. We also need a "fox in the box" to nab us 35 to 40 goals a season and turn chances into goals. A talisman who spreads fear and can grab us a goal real quick without 75% possession for 15 minutes play and nothing to show for it. Finally for me, when is Harry back? Wee Barry is great but H is Glasgow gallus and has an edge and belief in his play that just makes you smile. In Warbs we trust and if we have been learning after recent poor results we will sort out the goalkeeping errors, address the sloppy noncommittal defending and chase goals rather than possession. In the meantime though, let's just go and win us a CUP!

05 May 2016 07:54:25
Good post reg. Spot on assessment there and I would tend to go along with all you say.
Just like to add about Wes and his shot stopping ability, where was he for the two shots at his near post at the weekend? I like the guy but he just ain't good enough, sorry.

05 May 2016 09:17:16
Seaofibrox
No I'm not joking its plain to see he isn't good enough. Not saying Bell is the answer but neither is Foderingham he is an average keeper prone to mistakes and he keeps making them.

05 May 2016 09:59:25
To be fair to Wes his mistakes have only cost us in meaningless matches, he's been good when it counted. I can't think of one other game he has cost us points before the league was won.

05 May 2016 11:29:38
Recbob

He has made plenty of mistakes in meaningful games it's just we have managed to win most of them. He was badly at fault when Hibs scored their second goal at Ibrox but fortunately for him it didn't cost.

04 May 2016 06:47:06
If we were to sign knox tho then think it should be 4 year contract then loan him straight back to livi for next year and if he develops then maybe a team like hamilton for following year if still in spfl.

04 May 2016 18:54:43
Don't see the point in loaning him back to Livingston as they could be relegated to league 1.

04 May 2016 18:05:17
Mathew Knox comments about being a Celtic fan and Larson sound like a come get me plea to Celtic otherwise way go out his way to say it. Hopefully we get it sealed up fast Incase Celtic look to make a move.

04 May 2016 16:16:36
dunbar blue- if you are out there, have you seen the eight academy players being released? It kind of backs my theory and quite honestly worries me a bit. We don't appear to be the best at bringing them up, does this mean our academy coaching is rank rotten? I'm beginning to wonder. If the boy Knox is looking on, I can't see him being overly impressed? what's your thinking on it?

04 May 2016 16:47:21
It seems every season we release more and more young players. Lang and McLeod were expected to do big things with the club and I thought Gasperatto was worth a chance. Our youth team didn't perform well in the league last year and you wonder what the future holds for players like Walsh, Murdoch and Hardie.

04 May 2016 16:50:51
Yes wee bill I'm disappointed for the laddies too. I can only assume that although they are good players they are not at or expected to reach the standard Mr Warburton needs. I have stated previously that I was surprised that even with some players out on loan that our 20's seemed to lose a lot of games. Hopefully all the boys go on to play at a good level and the next batch of boys through get to a higher level where we can also sell players on and not just release them. I get your drift though wee bill.

04 May 2016 16:58:52
I would be more inclined to look at the talent we are keeping, young Zak Rudden springs to mind. Let's be more positive lads.

04 May 2016 17:41:28
I honestly think Warburton and Davie want their own breed of players in tbh, at a standard they think they will be able to push for a future place in the 1st team, i think our 20's next season will have a much better squad than the squad this season.

04 May 2016 19:00:11
It happens every year at every club.

04 May 2016 19:39:39
I think the under 20 side will be full of guys around the age of 17 and anyone older will be put out on loan. Tbh by the time your 18 or 19 the development league is a waste of time as u need to be playing against older players in a more competitive league only by doing that will you see of any of them are good enough for the first team.

04 May 2016 20:02:43
You can't expect every youth player to make it, of course we have to let boys go to be replaced by better prospects .
If we can get one or two gems a season coming through we will be doing very well, also please remember most of our under 20s side are probably the youngest team in that league .

04 May 2016 20:43:03
What's the saying about eggs to make an omelette?

I agree with Brian-p, not every player In the youth set up will be good enough to come through.

If the poor ones made it to first team people would highly criticise the management.

We let a load go and the youth set up gets criticism, it is six of one and half a dozen the other.

04 May 2016 22:09:38
Rangers had no effective youth policy for almost four years and many young players recommended to the club were ignored, at least two Rangers die-hard fantastic prospects were snapped up by the other half. Letting young players go is a very common occurrence for all clubs. If eight players are going out maybe Rangers have replacements in mind for the start of next season.

04 May 2016 14:15:01
Just saw on sky sports that the youth lad from wolves along with half a dozen other youth players are released.

04 May 2016 14:37:33
Very surprised at Dylan dykes being released.

04 May 2016 15:00:49
I know, I am going to keep a list of them as I bet we will see a few of them doing well in a few years.

04 May 2016 15:08:04
The players are listed on Rangers web-site.

04 May 2016 15:45:42
I'm more surprised that they let Tom Lang go. 18yrs old and well sought after. I can only assume that most of them were demanding new contracts that included 1st team games. Shame really as I thought a lot of them would be moving up next year! Are they scraping the U20's completely then?

04 May 2016 15:34:55
Never thought much of any of them. dykes possibly but everytime i seen him he not done too well. good luvk to the boys tho.

04 May 2016 13:03:57
Seeing as we seem to be going for food brands:
Warburton
Pringle (s)
Perhaps we should go for
Giles Coke
Jamie Walker (s)
Mark Bunn or Perhaps Dean Gerken? (That ones a pickle. )
Yaya Banana
Baba Rahman
And maybe stick Tamer Tuna up front? (Might be too small a fish for us mind. )

04 May 2016 14:56:58
Right Teddy. That's plenty! 😁.

04 May 2016 15:27:51
Disagree with a joke. can't please some people.

04 May 2016 15:31:16

04 May 2016 15:46:35

04 May 2016 12:55:49
For those enquiring about cup final tickets, go onto the Rangers website and see if you can purchase a ticket. this method is quicker than waiting on an email confirmation to whether you were successful in the ballot or not.

04 May 2016 15:21:19
Correct onlyshow I done that still wasnt convinced though as had no email but phoned up and me and my son were successful so if youve not had an email maybe worth a call.

04 May 2016 16:45:07
My mate s son got one, me and my mate still prayin hard.

04 May 2016 11:54:34
Has anybody heard of forresters injury update? Will he be back for the Scottish cup final?

04 May 2016 12:28:59
Comon get the magic sponge on him he be sound.

04 May 2016 10:42:11
What a football season! Leicester City EPL champions, Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final, Dundee United relegated, the mighty Glasgow Rangers heading back to where we belong and hopefuly Ashley's Newcastle heading for relegation. It doesn't get much better than this. Add stuffing Hibs in the Scottish Cup final and Falkirk joining us in the SPL and that would be perfect!

04 May 2016 11:00:13
Perfect indeed Doiger!

04 May 2016 11:24:42
Wouldn't complain if Killie stayed up, they were the only club who refused to vote us out of the top division.

04 May 2016 11:27:19
I think Newcastle are gona stay up sadly.

04 May 2016 14:03:08
Ryan

Yeah does look likely they have an easier run in than Norwich and Sunderland. Norwich look gone still at least Naismith going to be part of a team being relegated so it's not all bad.

04 May 2016 14:10:21
aye have to agree think Newcastle will manage to escape
the dreaded drop.

04 May 2016 10:38:42
Just got the email through saying a was successful for a cup final ticket was straight down to Ibrox this morning and got it £35 that's all
That's there fellow bears.

04 May 2016 12:37:32
How were tickets allocated?
I didn't get one for the semi or for final -season ticket holder for years.

04 May 2016 12:45:38
Allocated through cccs and for season ticket holders not on cccs through a ballot and only the season ticket holders who never got a ticket for
The semi final got one for the final through ballot.

04 May 2016 12:54:33
tickets were allocated by ballot, jump onto the Rangers website to see if you were successful or not. Email confirmation can take a while so it is quicker to attempt to buy a ticket.

04 May 2016 13:53:59
those unsuccessful in the semi-final ballot were balloted for final tickets.

04 May 2016 14:03:18
They took the money today for the continuous credit scheme tickets not sure when the ballot is getting done though for the rest.

04 May 2016 08:37:01
Hi Fellow Bears. Is there any word on Cup Final Tickets? I take it there's a ballot again.

04 May 2016 08:40:51
those who didn't get a SF ticket in the ballot are going into a ballot for the final, the ballot is this week. hope that helps.

04 May 2016 08:48:16
Cheers onlyshowaround was hoping that was the case Fingers crossed as missed out on that great occasion.

04 May 2016 00:47:30
Players like Ben pringle, championship journey men, aren't the kinda players i'd like to see as I a don't think they improve the overall squad. If the player was a good level of English championship player then that would be great but not the likes of Ben pringle.

04 May 2016 06:52:35
You might have considered Leicester's entire team to be journeymen at the beginning of the season. Players often show massive improvement when playing for the right manager in the right system in a team with healthy spirit.
It is unfair to write the boy off as a journeyman straight off the bat.
The gaffer has done not too bad with journeymen thus far.

04 May 2016 08:34:58
Ben Pringle, when at Rotherham was excellent and he moved to Fulham where it didn't work out and i thought he was on loan at Ipswich.

I don't think we'd get him but i'd be happy with the names our manager has put forward, he's done more than enough to ensure he can be trusted in the market.

04 May 2016 08:45:31
Very hard working player, descent peg on him. Definitely an improvement on shiels, law etc.

04 May 2016 09:27:13
club deck loyal, don't know if Ben Pringle is just paper talk, but also don't know if you have seen the guy play that you can make judgement. Your comment could apply to most of Warburton signings, so can only assume you do not trust his judgement.

04 May 2016 09:39:02
If last years signings are anything to go by, I doubt most of us will not have heard of those we sign. Case in point the only Pringle I know of are Sportswear and crisps. Still really impatient to see who we sign so I can look them up really excited about next season.

04 May 2016 12:23:04
I just had a vision.

Pringle, 10 games for the Gers, no goals.

Here he is on his 11th game, fires home a cracker.

12th, 13th, 14th, more goals to follow.

Headline is, Once he pop's he just can't stop!

04 May 2016 13:55:25
haha!

04 May 2016 09:52:49
Anybody else fed up with this Leicester caper already? Remarkable achievement but we'll never hear the end of it.

04 May 2016 08:40:56
Correct wilson0212, warbs has most definitely an eye for a player some people should care to remember that and wait and see how a player does at ibrox before dismissing them as not good enough, after all warbs has proved thus far with little money how good he has been in the transfer market, for god's sake learn to trust the manager who's signings for us so far have been brilliant!

04 May 2016 13:56:31
Journey man at 26? Don't really know much about him if I'm honest but at 26 I think he has his best years in front of him and if MW n DW have identified him as a future player then I'll back them. They days of 1,2,3,4 million pound players is long gone.

04 May 2016 02:31:54
My taxi driver I get to work is Paul Patons dad, said Ally McCoist wanted to sign him so McCall if he was still there this season but he said Rangers have been in contact with him again and his dad (my taxi driver) said they're trying to agree terms and a fee has been arrange now that Dundee United have gone (Hahahahahah)

04 May 2016 08:46:18
Not a bad player but certainly not one I would pick.

04 May 2016 09:09:30
Can't see any truth in this the boys a poor mans Scott brown.
