Is that the draw we wanted, guys?

05 Mar 2019 00:13:52
Knew we would have to beat them to win it so semi or finsl makes no odds. Still a tough aberdeen tie to negotiate tho.

05 Mar 2019 01:38:29
Get past the sheep first.

05 Mar 2019 02:08:39
If we want to win the cup we need to beat them sometime.

05 Mar 2019 09:51:40
Aberdeen are missing Cosgrove due to suspension so we should be them no bother.

05 Mar 2019 11:38:34
Thats it, if we want to win the cup then we have to beat them👍.

04 Mar 2019 21:48:41
Right now, here's a thing. If Morelos is booked against the sheep next week won't he miss the semi? If so who thinks we should put him on the bench and let Defoe and Lafferty handle the sheep defence? I think it is a no brainer. We can bring him on if things are not going well and give him a rest if we are coasting. I think we have more than enough to take them at a full Ibrox and on a good pitch without Morelos. If he plays he is 100% to be booked imo and would miss the mhanks match. Unless he gets booked for sneezing on the bench or something lol. Also, i think this is a good draw as unbearable to lose a final against them, however, not so much in a semi. I think we can certainly beat them with the same energy and application shown in the last OF game. Thoughts?

04 Mar 2019 22:31:25
We can beat them seeker, i agree with you. We proved that at ibrox on december the 29th last year. Of course we have to take care of the sheep first, next tuesday, which i'm confident we will do! I have a feeling it will be a Rangers V Hearts scottish cup final this year.
Just my opinion fellow bears.
Certainly not afraid of celtic whatsoever, if we do dispose of aberdeen, next week. I most definitely think we can beat them, by playing the same high intensity game, we played against them, at ibrox! They're nothing special. When we get in about their mince, we proved that! Just a gut feeling of mine, that we'll win the scottish cup this year, which will get steven gerrard his first trophy under his belt, as rangers manager. Will also stop their coveted treble treble they constantly go on about! let's GO!

05 Mar 2019 07:18:35
Agree Coops. What would you do with Morelos in the semi thpugh? He would be walking a tightrope and guaranteed to miss the semi if we get through. The sheep have the same problem with Cosgrove who misses the replay. And he is the only guy scoring for them so they are in soapy bubble i'm glad to say!

05 Mar 2019 07:50:52
Concentrate on Aberdeen, re Morelos. I'd happily have Defoe up front in semi if required.

05 Mar 2019 08:16:34
Jboy21, i think Stevie will play Morelos in the replay and of course there is an argument for playing the best 11 and he most certainly is in there. I just think we have enough about us to win the match with the other strikers while having Alfie on the bench just in case. Then again, he could well get booked even if only on for 30 minutes or so. Whar to do!

05 Mar 2019 08:19:16
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Aberdeen to get past first of all although I'm sure we can. Let's hope our dressing room don't come out and say the stupid things they did last season "we cheered when we got celtic" etc etc and then went and got pumped 0-4.

05 Mar 2019 09:02:23
Coops, your in danger of getting way ahead of yourself, calm down let’s beat Aberdeen.

05 Mar 2019 09:10:05
If he was to get booked in the Celtic game I take it he would miss the final?

05 Mar 2019 10:07:49
Not sure if yellow cards are now wiped for the final?

05 Mar 2019 10:46:41
How many of your feelings come back to haunt you? 👍.

05 Mar 2019 10:49:42
If morelos is suspended if we happen to make the semi then going with formation we play would have to be Lafferty through middle. Defoe struggles on his own.

05 Mar 2019 17:17:23
Yes if avoids booking via Aberdeen, then booked against Celtic would miss final. However, one game at a time with best team available.

05 Mar 2019 20:45:01
Superlager sorry supercoop settle down you nearly jinxed the 1/ 4 final with talk of how Jack and co would totally dominate the midfield here you are at it again with wild predictions think before You type cheif.

04 Mar 2019 17:20:52
Well done to our academy players, 2 in under 21s, 7 in under 19s
This is a sign of progress.

04 Mar 2019 20:57:13
my dad said caldow was a helluva player

RIP big man you will be sadly missed yet fondly remembered as part of poss the greatest gers team ever

ritchie shearer caldow.

RIP.

04 Mar 2019 16:40:23
Rest Easy Eric, not only a Rangers Legend but one of the nicest people in football. Like you DOIGER, I had the privilege of watching that great team, arguably the best ever Rangers Team.

04 Mar 2019 17:06:43
Lovely post irvger, Eric Caldow was a true legend and a gentleman, RIP.

04 Mar 2019 17:37:47
Ritchie, Shearer, Caldow, Davis, McKinnon, Baxter, Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand and Wilson. Wow, what a team. Saw the first leg at Ibrox v Fiorentina of the very first Cup Winners Cup final where Eric missed a penalty in a 2-1 defeat, the first time a UK side reached a Euro final.
Caldow never seemed to need to make a tackle he was so quick. Bobby Shearer on the other hand!

04 Mar 2019 15:44:47
I really hope SG plays Katic alongside Goldson on Friday night. Although Worrall scored yesterday, he hardly inspires confidence in defence! I also think Halliday would be up for this one instead of Barisic. Last dilemma, should SG find a place in the starting XI for McCrorie and if so, who drops out?

04 Mar 2019 17:24:14
While Worrall has looked a bit shaky at times, he was rock solid against the sheep and easily motm.

04 Mar 2019 12:26:31
Sad to hear that Eric Caldow has passed. I had the privilege of watching him play a few times when I was a wee lad. Along with Bobby Shearer, I reckon these two were the best pair of full backs ever to play for Rangers. RIP Eric, we'll no see your like again.

04 Mar 2019 13:03:13
Sad to hear about Eric Caldow. He was in first gers team I seen as well Doiger an absolute legend and a gentleman off the park as well.

04 Mar 2019 13:24:02
Eric Caldow was a rangers great and thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

04 Mar 2019 14:18:23
Sad to hear about Mr Caldow and my Dad who is now 80 absolutely loved him and told me he was some player and a Gers legend🇬🇧.

04 Mar 2019 15:41:04
Way too young to have had the priveledge of seeing Eric Caldow play. Only know how good he was thru my dad hence my interest in Gers great teams and my nomme de plume.
Niven, Shearer, Caldow, Grieg McKinnon, Baxter, Scott, Mcmillan, Miller, Brand, Wilson. A team worth seeing. RIP Eric.

04 Mar 2019 16:23:03
As a small boy (son of a scotsman) it was reading football books with pictures of Eric Caldow and other Rangers greats that got me into football in the 1950's, truly a Scottish legend! RIP Eric.

04 Mar 2019 11:32:06
RIP Eric Caldow Legend! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

04 Mar 2019 13:46:49
Never seen EC play but I heard stories of his skill and talent as a defender.

05 Mar 2019 22:00:54
Never saw him play either, I was too young. One of our guys pointed out earlier that he was never booked. RIP big man.

04 Mar 2019 11:17:04
Worrall claiming he's saved our season with his goal. Does he lack memory cells because if anything he's the one that's gave away a few massive points in the league this season due to schoolboy mistakes.

04 Mar 2019 11:33:12
His goal did save our season to be fair but he is awful. How many times will he drive forward to pass it back. He nearly gave another pen away when he left his leg out. One of the worst cb's that's ever played for us. How he gets a game instead of katic is mental. 👍.

04 Mar 2019 12:44:20
Can't agree with that, the lad is a decent centre back, worse than Konterman? Worse than McCauley? Worse than Broadfoot?

04 Mar 2019 13:03:01
Broadfoot and konterman weren't great bizzmy as is mccauley so they prob fit in the same category as worrall👍. Just because you are better than broadfoot or mccauley doesn't mean you are any good does it bizzmy. I remember having a debate about how good darren mcgregor was for us and someone said he was better than kiernan. Hopefully you see my point👍.

04 Mar 2019 13:44:50
Have a word with yourself "one of the worst CB's to play for us". Konterman, Berg, Broadfoot, Boli, Cribari, Moshni, the list goes on. Worrall was our best player yesterday.

04 Mar 2019 14:20:51
Slag big Broadfoot all you want but he was part of the Europa League run to the final and deserves a bit of respect. Always gave his all and a big bluenose 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

04 Mar 2019 14:24:41
Should never have let the Ginger Ramos get away, big mistake.

04 Mar 2019 17:05:35
Worrall is a bomb scare! He's had two decent games, everytime he gets the ball the fear sets in. 👍 you can say as many names as you want true blue, Worrall is one of the worst👍.

04 Mar 2019 17:06:22
True blue should be sir struth. Apologies👍.

04 Mar 2019 18:41:35
Bankie bates did not want to stay.

04 Mar 2019 22:57:15
Jboy21, he received an insulting offer to stay.

04 Mar 2019 11:15:49
It can’t be that difficult to put a nett up At Pittodrie to separate the two sets of fans
A simple nett above the fence and move the Rangers fans back 6 or 7 rows from the fence and move the sheep back 10 rows
And none of yesterday’s nonsense would have happened
Can’t be that difficult sort it out.

04 Mar 2019 11:37:40
Or if the fans just grow up.

04 Mar 2019 14:08:57
I agree mate they need to grow up and stop acting like total neds
I’ve been there with the Gazz England top on noiseing the sheep up when I was a 20 year old lad but we were not launching seats at each other get a grip.
Everyone knows singing the Billy boys is asking for trouble
WTF do the still do it?
Just in case anyone is reading this Who was launching sets or singing sectarian songs
Listen up and listen good STOP F SINGING THIS P15H
How can we attract decent players coaches etc if ever week we are being investigated for sectarian abuse
It will not matter 2 Fxxxs what other teams are doing
As always is about what we do
Embrace the club values don’t disgrace the colours
and the club will flourish
Do you think if we stop singing TBB we won’t have our Protestant roots of corse we will and we will always be
Proud of our identity and history but time has moved on and the clowns who are damaging our great club need to move on or move out.
I want to take my kids to ibrox to cheer them on and sing Penny arcade and Blue sea of Ibrox but not the other crap
How do tell a 10 year old about and he’s dead. I’d rather not thanks
Move on it’s 2019 not 1690.

04 Mar 2019 15:06:30
Agree with Marco. The two sets of fans are an embarrassment to their clubs. Although the sheep are the lowest of the low, there are far too many dickheads in our support too. I don't miss going to football games that's for sure.

04 Mar 2019 16:08:22
Spot on William king, great post.

04 Mar 2019 10:18:18
For selfish reasons I was hoping for more from Davis, he is still a NI first teamer and we haven’t got that many.

05 Mar 2019 00:00:59
I feel Davis has not been given enough game time to properly assess. He hardly kicked a ball for Southampton and is bound to be rusty. Its a bit chicken and egg, but his passing skill would be a huge asset, lacking in midfield.

03 Mar 2019 22:54:56
I think there has been a fair bit of overreaction on here today . Yes we didn't play great, yes we carried a little luck but at the end of the day we're still alive and fighting . I for one am buzzing for the replay at Ibrox and hope for a far better performance in a far better pitch and hopefully we can see a football match rather than a battle . The only thing I would say about today is I thought we were crying out for the battling qualities of young Mccrorie and felt that is a change we should have made fairly early in precedings, I just felt we never quite won the battle in the middle of the park to allow us to play our football.

04 Mar 2019 07:24:54
good post cambiger

we didn’t play well and went a goal down away to one of our main rivals but dug in 2nd half and got a replay

i personally thought the sheep bullied us a bit and mcrorie wld prob have given us a bit more dig but who knows

replay will hopefully be a diff game and if we match them better in the battle our superior football shd win.

04 Mar 2019 10:51:34
It's frustrating how the team is so inconsistent. We can blow teams away one game and struggle the next. I know Aberdeen is always a battle for us but they are not a good team. Anyway still glad to be in the hat for next round and just hope everything clicks for us a week on tues.

04 Mar 2019 11:05:11
Ironically the one consistent the inconsistencies we suffer
If we could have harnessed the celtic performance We would be so much closer to the title it frustrates the life out of me.

04 Mar 2019 12:12:00
Cambiger, you say over reaction in one breathe and then in the next you say you hope for a much better performance. You then go on to say you hope for a football match and not a battle on a better pitch. My god man, 1. There was nothing wrong with the pitch, 2. We have won games at pittodrie by battling for decades. The players must have a better mentallity that's why we are 8 points behind and why we struggle against the likes of aberdeen, hibs etc. As I said its a battle at fir park, easter road, pittodrie, tynecastle, celtic park and has been for decades. Don't make me laugh👍.

04 Mar 2019 12:35:13
Coldo, my good man, if you read my post I think I mention that we lost the battle and I would hope for better in a replay . I’m not actually sure what you are objecting to or if it’s objecting for objecting’s sake . Just because we have in the past and will in the future battle up and down the country is absolutely irrelevant to my initial point that a draw away from home to one of our closest rivals should not provoke this mass histeria and vilification of players who up until they point have had a very good few weeks . All players have off days and as a team yesterday was not one of our best but at the end of day a replay is far from the end of the world .

04 Mar 2019 12:54:00
No cambiger you said you hope to see a football match and not a battle, we have to be up for a battle when we go to these places otherwise we will never win titles👍. You then said that the pitch wasn't great which is nonsense. We have had too many off days when playing aberdeen👍.

04 Mar 2019 13:20:45
My main point was about the over reaction to the performance/ result . I know we didn’t win the battle yeasterday but for me we are still a work in progress and managing to come away with a replay given these circumstances is not the end of the world . Ps pitch was a mess 😜.

04 Mar 2019 17:13:39
The replay is not the end of the world, but how many times are we going to collapse when there is a battle. If that had been the league we would be well out of it. Too many times we lose heart and fight. If we want to win titles we need to have the fight in us. that's the problem. Its a sad day when fans are blaming the pitch or the physical toughness of the other team as an excuse for us not winning. 👍.

04 Mar 2019 17:38:37
The pitch was terrible. SG said himself that it hadn't been cut or rolled. There was also a gale blowing. You could clearly see this on the tv too.

This is a leveller. The game was a battle and we had to roll the sleeves up to get something from it. Pretty it wasn't.

04 Mar 2019 17:59:40
Coldo it wasn’t a league game so for me that’s a mute point . It is a cup tie where if you go away and draw you are rewarded for this with a tie in front of your own fans . While I agree we never won the battle, on that dreadful surface, I don’t think we shyed away from it either . It woulda been easy after going behind early to just give up . We did not do this and battled hard to ensure our season is not completely over . I just wish some fans sometimes would look at bigger picture and realise where we are in the process . It doesn’t all have to be end of the world stuff after every slightly below par performance.

04 Mar 2019 18:41:25
So we are blaming the pitch, the weather and aberdeen being a bit rough for us being pi$h. Got it👍.
