Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

04 Jan 2018 20:59:16
Bit riled by les ferdinands comments about Goss coming in on loan. Says there's no chance of the transfer being made permanent and he's only loaned out to get some game time. Maybe just me but he was talking like QPR are way above us and we're just some diddy team that could only ever dream of signing one of their promising youngsters. Probably just biased cause I've never cared for him much.

05 Jan 2018 00:32:35
Les Ferdinand is a bawbag

05 Jan 2018 13:03:11
QPR may not have the fan base that the day of firm have, but they do have the £££s that we could only dream of and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters to most players nowadays.

05 Jan 2018 13:13:23
Les who? let's arrange a friendly with QPR then he may think again when we outshine his team.

05 Jan 2018 13:16:04
QPR's turnover last season was £41.9m, Rangers was about £30m. So in that respect they are a bigger club. This is how Rangers are viewed these days, no bank willing to offer you credit, losses year after year, the because decision to be enforced on King and even if all that works and you get a NOMAD and have an IPO then surely the conversion of debt to shares puts any of the creditors (three bears) in the concert party scenario again and lo and behold another order from TAP to buy the whole thing reappears, oh and if not you fall foul of FFP at UEFA. You have a big stadium, massive support, loads of trophies and a rich history but financially you are a diddy team (or basket case, take your pick. )

And before anyone pipes in, I have always said you are one and the same Rangers, so I'll just nip that deflection in the bud here and now.

05 Jan 2018 15:23:18
Rangers have been poorly managed on and off the field for the last few years. QPR have been mismanaged on a completely different scale. Check they're finances, its online. They're MAD owner has written off £250m!, they've a small stadium, piss poor training facilities. They've been sanctioned £40-£50m for breaking financial fair play rules.
Not like C*ltic fan to obsessing about rangers though!

05 Jan 2018 18:01:41
gazo- a poor old numpty rangers hater with nothing positive in life to say, must be bad for you trawling the net for figures and garbage that does not even add up, i pity you my friend

05 Jan 2018 18:23:48
Gazo mate if you are basing the size of a club purely on turnover I hope you realise your basically saying your lot are then going to be a smaller club than a lot of the dross in the EPL and most likely the Championship too?

06 Jan 2018 13:31:20
I'm well aware of their finances blueberry and you're correct they are poor but they are one step away from the domestic promised land, you are in ours and still see no financial improvement. Another thing I noticed about their finances was their banker is RBS if I remember correctly, who is Rangers again? Remember the bank of Three Bears isn't a recognised financial institution. An obsessed reference, wow isn't that played out yet? Is there any chance of a modicum of originality from some of you?

04 Jan 2018 20:22:42
Florida is under 3 foot of snow no flights in or out looks like won’t be flying out tomorrow

05 Jan 2018 07:49:30
This is actually true if you watch CNN News

05 Jan 2018 08:51:56
Team bonding build the best snowman contest or snowball fights just don't ping one at rossiter or it'll be another 7 to 10 days out no doubt he'll get hit with one of they frozen lizards knowing his luck lol, at least when they come back they won't have to acclimate to scottish weather, ⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄

05 Jan 2018 13:04:50
Florida is a pretty big place

05 Jan 2018 13:36:08
LOL. Do you know what 3 foot is? 3mm maybe.

05 Jan 2018 18:06:58
There is snow in Florida now. But not 3ft. Reports suggest 0.1 inch.
There's mair in ma freezer.

04 Jan 2018 19:10:59
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome back jimmy Nichol, loved him as a player no nonsense diehard rangers man. As a player his mix of skill and toughness is something our team has lacked if he can instill that in these players we have I can see us running celtic to the wire.

04 Jan 2018 20:11:38
Wat has he achieved in management?

04 Jan 2018 20:25:34
Why this continued negative s***e? I wholeheartedly welcome jimmy nicholl back to rangers as murty's assistant! He's a very good coach and a better no.2 than a manager! Has the makings of a good rangers management team, where jimmy nicholl's experience will be invaluable! We have to be the worst supporters at putting someone down, when they come to our great football club, instead of giving them total backing and waiting to see how they do!

04 Jan 2018 20:34:30
He always did better as an assistant but he is one of our own

04 Jan 2018 20:43:23
DSGersfan a good assistant doesn't always have to have been a good manager in their own right.

04 Jan 2018 21:44:59
DSGERSFAN, you having a laugh mate? Jimmy Nic managed Raith when they beat the rotten mob at Ibrox to win the league cup as a 1st div team! Took them into EUROPE and played very well against none other than Bayern Munich. Has amassed a wealth of experience in club and international management. He will be an excellent Assistant to GM. Some of the comments on this site utterly dumbfound me at times seriously!

04 Jan 2018 21:56:49
Why do some of our fans find fault with things before giving people a chance. I welcome jimmy nicholl back to the club. The guy has forgot more than a lot of people in the game know. Welcome home jimmy.

05 Jan 2018 08:46:08
When I read some of the comments on here I truly believe some of the contributors must be supporters of other clubs that just hate Rangers and come on here to sow discontent.

05 Jan 2018 08:58:01
Kl a I take your points guys

05 Jan 2018 12:56:50
Played under Jimmy Nich for a couple of years and he is some character! Think he will be a great addition as he is almost the polar opposite of Murty and will give a balance in the changing room.

05 Jan 2018 12:57:09
Dsgersfan, you always have to put a downer on everything what does it matter what he’s done in management he’s not our manager he’s in there to be a number 2 Murty is the manager so what’s your question.

05 Jan 2018 13:00:03
A coaches job at Rangers that's what he's achieved.

05 Jan 2018 13:01:11
Not a manager but good coach and tactician. Will make a difference and that's from a Celtic fan. Good appointment.

05 Jan 2018 13:31:29
Nicholl is a great appointment, we have been crying out for these type of guys. Guys who know our game and the type of player needed for our game. Murphy is a great buy also.

04 Jan 2018 18:16:43
Would love to see Davies back but wages will rule it out pity would fit right into he midfield and run the show for us

04 Jan 2018 17:57:02
It looks like Murphy is a done deal. i'd like us to look at a pre contract for Scott arfield now. Out of contract in the summer and unlikely to get a new deal by the looks of it. A midfield 5 of Murphy and Candeias wide, dorrans playing in front of arfield and Jack would be a step in the right direction in my opinion with the likes of McCrorrie able to play in midfield or at the back, Barjonas able to cover in midfield and windass pushing dorrans and murphy for a spot. i'd also look at another right sided player to push candeias.

Rumours about tav and windass attracting interest from down south I'd do as much as possible to keep both unless silly money was offered.

04 Jan 2018 18:37:30
Arfield would be a good signing for us has played at a high level for a few years

04 Jan 2018 19:20:03
Agreed controller. He would be the best central midfielder in the country in my opinion. Never understood why Strachan never called him up to the national team.

04 Jan 2018 20:51:38
Posted about arfield being out of contract a week or so ago and always a player I've rated as a potential target for us

05 Jan 2018 12:46:36
Stuartac, i like your use of players but Dorrans is out between 6/ 8 weeks.

05 Jan 2018 12:54:55
I watched Scott Arfield play at old Trafford on Boxing Day and he is a cracking player. Reads the game well
And solid in the tackle

05 Jan 2018 13:09:47
Stuart i'm pretty sure he chose Canada over Scotland.

05 Jan 2018 13:18:10
Arfield plays for canada?

06 Jan 2018 13:08:55
A guy who is getting a lot of game time with a club currently flying in the EPL, putting him to the front of everybody's mind and with a good chance of playing in Europe next season. Aye, he'll walk away from that to sign for us.

04 Jan 2018 17:41:46
hope we can get a big strong centre forward in morellos young guy and could do with some physical support, what about big kyle?

04 Jan 2018 18:48:32
Kyle 😂 are u serious?

05 Jan 2018 12:41:21
Think Lafferty and Morelos would be a handful for any defence in the SPL.

05 Jan 2018 13:06:21
Kevin Kyles finished.

04 Jan 2018 17:32:53
Pena shouldn’t be allowed to leave on loan if he wants his man get the cash out like we did in the summer

04 Jan 2018 17:54:42
Exactly. He as far too willing to spend big money on him in the summer but apparently not now. Get the feeling Pedro is treating the club like mugs. He done that enough as Manager without doing it now

04 Jan 2018 18:33:27
it was the boards decision to authorise Pena's signing, large fee/ salary etc based on nothing more than Pedro's say so. Wasnt him mugging us off at all, was poor leadership. I wonder how much Pedro Mendes made as an agent for all these deals in the Summer? and what questions were asked at the time?

04 Jan 2018 18:50:48
Snell

Pedro asked the board to sign him which they did. If you look at the quotes from Pedro today he describes Pena as a wonderful player so why not buy him rather than loan him? If it’s down to finances then you wonder what percentage of his wages they will cover? They should sign him permanently or not at all if he is that wonderful a player

04 Jan 2018 19:39:00
he will probably be looking at a loan as opposed to buying as he is trying to get the best deal for the club that now employs him. Negotiation mate, a skill we have hopefully improved on looking at our recent history

04 Jan 2018 20:37:28
Snell

True but we have to make sure we get the best deal to and it’s to sell him not loan him out

04 Jan 2018 20:52:31
i agree we should get the best deal we can mate, fingers burnt too many times before! on the plus side, if we are wanting shot at least there is interest in him and we don't have a high earner sitting doing nothing.

05 Jan 2018 13:02:32
Rangers will be happy to get him off the wage bill. that's the benefit.

05 Jan 2018 13:10:34
He goes on loan has a 1.6 million clause at end of season, plays well goes to the World Cup plays well and we lose him for whatever.

04 Jan 2018 17:20:35
Pena on 30k a week Alves 35k a week no wonder were skint.

04 Jan 2018 17:42:40
No chance . tell us all how u know

04 Jan 2018 17:50:28
not sure of the figures but i have heard and posted here before that top three salaries in the league are Pena, Alves, Sinclair. I reckon 30k might not be too wide of the mark.

04 Jan 2018 20:23:25
Absolutely no chance that Pena is on that sort of money. Scott Brown will be one of the best paid players in the league as well.

Id be surprised if Pena was even on 20k a week.

05 Jan 2018 12:44:52
Wow,

How the board agreed to pay both they wages is unbelievable.

05 Jan 2018 12:49:33
I don't think our captain would be too happy if he knew those players are on 30/35 grand a week. Personally i don't believe it.

04 Jan 2018 15:33:04
Nothing to get excited about with signing murphy and mibee martin.

04 Jan 2018 15:51:19
We don't need exciting, that's the last thing we need, Barton was exciting, as was Krancjar, Alves and Pena. All have been completely underwhelming.

We need players like Murphy, Martin and even Greg Docherty, these are players that are either fans or have the physicality and dig required to play for Rangers.

The amount of wages we have wasted on these 'exciting' signings is beyond a joke.

04 Jan 2018 16:26:33
Murphy was brilliant for Sheffield and Brighton in the championship. Exactly the type of player rangers should be signing

04 Jan 2018 16:43:26
Exactly, maybe go for 'exciting' in another couple of windows or do. Some folk seem to forget we're building from the ground up. We've no way of generating funds just now and our board aren't bottomless pits.
We WILL be back, but as you can see folks, we're not even competing this season, let alone challenging.
Patience my blue nose buddies, patience.

04 Jan 2018 17:40:04
think if we give murphy time to get match fit he will be a good addition to the squad he has blue blood in him and that's what we need at the minute people who will give that extra 10 %

04 Jan 2018 17:41:08
Good point BearMode

04 Jan 2018 17:48:46
Does anyone know why Murphy doesn’t get a look in for Scotland? He did well for Brighton last season and showed more than a number of players who have played recently

04 Jan 2018 18:10:17
Halides a fan and he's crap

05 Jan 2018 09:47:50
Ds every point u make is always negative . Haliday was decent in the championship but poor last season as most were . So give him a chance at least . Begining to think your from the dark side

05 Jan 2018 12:50:58
Queens11, are you saying Murphy is not match fit? If that's true then that's all we need!

04 Jan 2018 15:30:08
Murphy lands in Glasgow for medical deal complete today soar even evening times

04 Jan 2018 15:08:07
According to sky sports, a fee agreed for Jamie Murphy and he's expected in Glasgow for a medical.

04 Jan 2018 17:22:32
1 start this season says it all

04 Jan 2018 17:37:21
think murphy will be good signing but will take a couple of months to bed in as he has had very little game time, hope pena is on a plane back home also and things are actually starting to look up

04 Jan 2018 17:38:44
Just arrived at Glasgow airport

04 Jan 2018 17:56:59
Big blue bear

Yeah but that’s in one of the best leagues in the world. He is taking a massive step down in playing in Scotland. I think he will do well for us

04 Jan 2018 09:11:48
Realistically bears we've seen in the past we're linked with managers and players and it's just media and board smoke screens and none of it comes to fruition, how likely is it we could get Murphy and Martin both of which I've always rated or is it more realistic slowly but surely all our 'targets' will disappear and we will sign unknown English youngsters on loan and free or pre contracts?

If Murphy, Martin, walker (pre contract) , McLean (pre contract ) , and few others were brought in with the deadwood shipped out i'd be delighted but the way things have been I'm starting to doubt we will end up with any of them - hope I'm wrong but bears .

04 Jan 2018 09:49:35
Still yet to be convinced by walker and McLean I'd rather have cadden from motherwell different type granted but if Murphy comes in then him and candieas are better wingers than walker and cadden can play anywhere

04 Jan 2018 10:39:09
It's easy to criticise the Board but the directors are fans just like us and being human make mistakes. So Pedro was a risk and his signings compounded it and I'm certain every Board member shoulder regrets. As for Martin, we don't need him. Maybe they will get Murphy and it shows they're aiming at a high level for us. In terms of what preceeded King and the three Bears we should thank our lucky stars for their takeover and wallets. We're getting some things right.

04 Jan 2018 11:27:49
the board have made so many bad decsions it is unreal but they have also made some good ones thits hope murty proves to be a good one.
This transfer window i think we see a few leave on loan maybe some perment for below what they cost us or there true value and a few loans come in or pre contracts deals done.
The only player i see us spending money on will be murphy but this this one seems to be dragging on.
I think the board are hoping murty will do till end season then appoint a manager that will excite the fans in the summer to get us to buy season tickets and this money will be giving to new manager for transfer funds

04 Jan 2018 11:33:08
Yes thank god for Dave King all those promises, the court cases, the Ashley deal, and now on a count down to the cold shoulder from all businesses because of his reckless ways. Oh I nearly forgot his £50m family inheritance but that was just another promise.

04 Jan 2018 11:58:48
Thing is lads, if it weren't for DK, would we be here slagging off someone else?
I doubt that very much, they were hardly queuing up to buy the club.
So be thankful we still have a club and a chairman who actually cares about us.

04 Jan 2018 12:42:37
Jzer how about being able to bring on players like Walker and Cadden to change a game lol.

That's the kind of bench we should be aiming for :-)

04 Jan 2018 15:34:16
Need better signings the above mentioned.

04 Jan 2018 16:06:12
We chased away those Americans did we not? King is full of it. Reminds a lot of Murray, makes lots of promises. 3 years down the line after taking over, we need £7m in 'loans' to keep going this season. Pedro, if king didn't have anything to do with Pedro becoming manager, why didn't he? He's claiming he's skint now (after the court case he lost) He never mentioned that when he took over? What's happened to the share issue?
Why did it take nearly 3 years to set up a scouting network?

04 Jan 2018 17:35:46
Murphy, Docherty and Martin would be good business. Don't know what the fuss about McLean is but if we can get him on a previous contract and it doesn't work out at least we will be in a position to make a profit.

04 Jan 2018 17:58:39
Camoo

I agree about Cadden think he is an excellent prospect

04 Jan 2018 06:49:39
Not sure where u get your info from supercoop regarding Jamie Murphy being a massive bluenose as u couldn't be further from the truth. I personally know Jamie through his ex girlfriend when he was at motherwell and has shown deep hatred towards our club. Just hope he has grown up since then as I think he would be a great signing.

04 Jan 2018 07:12:25
What a load of Bollocks! Big Boab Malcolm played with him at Motherwell and he has said in the past that he's a big bluenose so your wee alibi abt knowing him is pee pee water i'm afraid

04 Jan 2018 08:09:44
Cammy, yer talking dung lad. It's literally common knowledge that Nurphy is a Rangers fan, you don't have to know him personally to know this (which you clearly don't) .

04 Jan 2018 10:08:55
Murphy*

04 Jan 2018 10:13:19
cammy rfc11,i'll bet you any sum of money you want and the loser gives the money to the winners chosen charity, that jamie murphy is a big glasgow rangers fan from boyhood! How about it buddy?

04 Jan 2018 10:38:15
Murphy is a bluesnout defo. cammys talking rab mcnish!
Why come on and make this up?
Spoke to his da in person about this. FACT!

04 Jan 2018 10:52:59
what difference does it make who he supported as a boy? The only criteria is " can he play football"

04 Jan 2018 11:27:09
it makes no diffrence now he is at celtic for medical, It shows a complete lack of ambition From rangers, let's gat all the players that can't get a game in the CHAMPIONSHIP, Mike allen and the board need to look in the mirror as far as i am concerned we are going backwards now

04 Jan 2018 12:17:59
No he isn't - what's your source?

04 Jan 2018 12:23:29
Desrfc, I think you mean Mark Allen for a kick off. Jamie Murphy is flying up within the next two days to sign for Rangers if everything goes to plan.

04 Jan 2018 14:01:47
Sky say he's having a medical now that a transfer fee has been agreed.

Is he having a Celtic medical after having one with rangers? ;)

04 Jan 2018 14:35:24
Your maths are flawed at 5000000 population the chances of becoming a national player is 1 in 6700. Although you were drinking so I definitely will let you off. still a fantastic post my man.

04 Jan 2018 14:56:18
Maybe Des means Lewis Morgan?

04 Jan 2018 17:36:37
Des you're thinking of Lewis Morgan. Murphy is set to undergo a medical with us in the next 24 hours. And Cammy Murphy IS a bluenose. Wish some of you would brush up with facts before posting nonsense.

04 Jan 2018 17:32:27
Murphys words - he admits it's a childhood dream to pull on the Light Blue. He said: "The big pull for me is that it's Rangers.

"They are obviously the club I supported as a boy and still support.

"They've had a good season so far and are always looking to improve, so hopefully I can play and be a part of that. Boyhood dream to sign? Yes, always.

He Cammy stay aff the broon stuff!

05 Jan 2018 12:45:36
honestly lads Cammy knows Murphys Ex bird and she told him he plays bingo on Bairds every Thursday night.

04 Jan 2018 00:42:16
Just some info regarding capped players v good players argument. RE SG34.Just to put into to context and with no malice or argument intended.
Some dodgy stats:
only 180 of the 1.5 million players who are playing organised youth football in England at any one time will make it as a Premier League pro. That's a success rate of 0.012%. same chance of meteorite hitting you on the way home.

Now to succeed as a capped player then the probability shrinks to 0.001333333% based on a squad size of 20. Same chance of meteorite hitting you on the way home but you head it back knowing one person that could prevent disaster and has a history of trying to destroy massive, powerful, majestic, beautiful universal masterpieces is Tom English. Unfortunately he underestimated the size and power of the meteor and was never seen again.

So I suppose it depends on the size of country you play for and the playing population, if you are capped for Brazil (207 million) where there is a high playing and actual population then you can assume you are indeed, very good. Could a similar argument be made for Mexico with a population of 127 million? But I can take SGs point with regards to smaller countrys eg. Finland, population 5.5 million then that is different particularly if the playing population is small so there is a better chance of being capped.
PS. Puts our past success in to perspective with a population of around 5 million and dwindling playing population, no wonder our national team are playing on fumes. The only way forward is to increase the playing population as we had in the 50s, 60s, 70s etc so we can get those 1 in a million players, unless that happens we will regress even more.
And yes I have been drinking.

04 Jan 2018 11:08:42
Class post mate. Bottoms up. 🕺🏻

04 Jan 2018 17:34:37
I replied earlier to your post TJBB but yet to be shown but it was along the lines of Rafael Sheidt has Brazilian caps and guys like Konterman, Namouchi, Capucho, Muscat, Ostenstad, Rothen all have caps for there respective countries yet they were all mince but i'm sorry to hear you stayed up half the night gathering your “info”
