Here’s a thought, since the Hamilton game with 22+corners and the up until Saturday’s St Mirren game we must have had 75+corners with no end product, if we get the same count against us I hate to think of how many we would concede?
Not counting Katic against Helsinki.

Every one likes to have a poke at Rangers, they’re like the Unionists in NI ( always on the receiving end ) even if it’s the other teams mistake ( re- the penalties) that DR is a very bias tabloid, one would think we’d ( Rangers ) get the benefit of the doubt sometimes? It’s hard to remember when.

Probably going to get a bit of stick with this but I got stick at the time for saying it.

When Steven Davis was being touted for a return I said time and time again he wasn’t the answer.
Now I know it’s still early days and he’s not really match fit so I’m willing to give him time.
However watching him the past few games where (lets be honest) he not been great and been subbed I still can’t see what he is bringing the team that we don’t already have.
In my opinion, he’s is no better that Arfield who arguably plays the same role. I would drop Jack and McCrorie is growing in to the player Gerrard was. Again I wouldn’t drop Kent or Candeias (both are essential to our system and on great form) .
I really really hope SG doesn’t start to tinker with the shape just to shoe horn Davis in. I have no doubt he still has quality, but so do the others in the team just now and we can’t all harp back to “but it’s Davis”. The Davis we all fell in love with was 6 years younger and fitter.

Midfield trio has to be Jack, McCrorie &Arfield. Hopefully Davis will get sharpness back and provide competition but based on 3 games played he is way short and his inclusion actually weakenes the team.

I wasn’t sure about bringing Davis back either and I am still not convinced to be honest. I would rather our midfield 3 remain Jack, Arfield and McCrorie!

Glad I'm not the only one to see this and think the same. Davis slows us down when he plays, the system we play to shoehorn him and Defoe in doesn't work. Should stick with the tried and tested against Aberdeen.

Yeah guys, Davis is not fit and needs game time and it’s definitely showing. It shows you if your not up to speed your not the same player but give him a little time and he will come good 🇬🇧.

Davis is class - only played a handful of games and will take a month or so to get up to speed. Manager is using him wisely - isn’t it refreshing we have a squad were we can have this debate. Will soon have Dorrans to add to this 👌🏻 - Davis arfield dorrans that’s a English premiership midfield!

I get the Defoe signing, he is genuine quality and will push Morelos all day for a start. 2 different types of player. Defoe is a predator while Morelos is a bully. both quilt and both will score goals.
Back to my original point though, Davis isn’t the Davis was all remember and he’s just not the box to box CM we remember.
Arfield, McCrorie and Jack all day for me.

He’s played 3 games 🤯 . He’s a more experienced and all midfielders drop as they get older. He’s there for the games when we need someone to hold the ball. Bottom line - does he improve our squad or should we have kept rossiter.

I'm going to wade in here with my opinion. Agreed he hasn't shown much so far but the one thing I have seen and been impressed with is his range of passing. Don't know if he can hit the heights again but he has something the rest don't in his passing ability. Perhaps he is too slow now and isn't worth it, time will tell. Willing to give him a bit more time though.

It's still way to early to judge these guys but I feel it's due to the over excitement/ hype of EPL experience, thinking they should come up here and dominate when let's face it their best days are behind them. It certainly doesn't help Burke and Weah have come out flying, especially young Weah he looks the part with scary pace, but I'm hoping they're sprinters and don't last the race like lots of young inexperienced players while our old pros just need a little time to get up to proper match pace and kick on.

we can't judge davis yet you don't lose your ability overnight he just needs game time and we have to remember he hasn't featured much in the last year he will definentely improve the side but give the guy a chance.

When writing this my god how far we have come since SG came in when I can't find a spot for the likes of couly, Laff, Kama, Pol, Flan, McCau, Grezand with the Doc Hardie and Rubbens to return and add Jordon J, Murphy and Dorrens and some exciting youngers pushing for the first team Dallas, Kelly, Atak, Rubben, Houston, Wilson, Burt, Capo, McPake, Barj, Beerman, McCrorie, Firth and now starting to attract youngsters from the likes of Chelsea (signing not loaning) what a squad we are building.
One other thing is the age of our core players McCrorie Jack, Katic, Middleton, Kamara, Jones,
Goldson, BB, Grez and
Kent and Morelas, Couly if we manage to keep all under 26 so will only get better and have yet to hit their peek.

Recon once we free up the wages of some of the dead wood herr pena holt Wallace. 2 or 3 quality signings in the summer hopefully one being Kent.

What a difference a year makes

What a job the board my and SG and the back room staff like Murty Thomo, Beale have did as I think we have still managed all this with a net spend of under 10 mill.

The glory years are not that far away guys.

Started reading your post Stewartyblue and disagree right from the start. You stated that Stevie G has to rotate his team to keep players happy. its about putting your best team out there to win games and maybe keep our loyal supporters happy!

I agree goalie but being a manager you need to reward players hard work on the training ground and keep the squad happy and fighting for places.
SG has been rotating the squad, mainly as he has stated to rest player with the amount of games we have played. I just think when he does rotate we tend to struggle so imo the 11 I suggested is our best team and he should stick with it home and away and only tinker to cover injuries suspensions ECT.

From what I'm seeing it looks like the team I suggested mainly will be our away team 433 and he will play 442 diamond at our home games including Defoe, Davis and worrel

Sorry Paul86 I have dyslexia hence the bad gramma and spelling predictive text does really help and makes it worse. It takes me a while to write a post and struggle sometimes with spelling players names correctly so shorten them as I'm guessing most fans will know who I'm referring to mate.

Jboy have to agree with you mate 're Beerman but had to include him as any time he played for first team he never let us down and the boy is out on loan and wasn't sold so maybe the coaching staff still see a future for him.

This isn't an English exam it's a public forum where anyone can talk/ type anyway they like . Did u understand the post? Job done then. I normally wouldn't reply to stuff like this but read the guy saying "sorry I have dyslexia" and felt bad as. I know when I've posted a line up I've had to go and double check spelling of Barisic, Katic etc on Google as my spelling sucks. But I'm certainly not away to put down someone who hasn't done that as maybe they're not as anally retentive as I am 🤣.

To be fair watching it I said the same, 1 was a definite pen 2 wasn’t and 3/ 4 were both fouls but marginal as to whether they were in the box. Linesman gave the 3rd and the foul continues into the box. Really don’t see the panty wetting over this in the media, if there was the same faux outrage when Candeias was wrongfully sent off or when we were denied a stonewaller at Cowdenbeath the other night I’d understand it possibly but just seems like sour grapes all round!

1st one is, 2nd isn’t. 3rd and 4th are too close to call and I guarantee most went back and looked a few times before they made their own decisions. I know I looked at them a couple of times and couldn’t tell. So we (mainly our friends across the city) have to remember that the ref has a split decision to make the call. Unless he has VAR then it’s a different story.
If you have a chance go on YouTube and look at the soccer am referee training with Neville and Carragher and you’ll realise how hard it is to make the right decisions in a split second with fans and players on top of you.
