Need to play 2 up front and need an ian ferguson type in midfield too light weight there

04 Feb 2018 19:42:26
Playing 2 up front weakens the midfield unless u play a diamond in midfield or 3 at the back. Docherty will be our Ian Ferguson type player box to box with dig.

04 Feb 2018 23:24:26
at home we should go two up top cummings and morelos when we use to score 3 4 goals at ibrox it was with two strikers forming a parternship with proper wingers supplying them for me we still need a left sided winger to give us that diffrent option

05 Feb 2018 10:40:10
Defo 2 up top and just get some ball in the box lol

Windass was a waste of a jersey anyway.

05 Feb 2018 16:32:14
what about good old fashioned 4-4-2?

allows 2 up front flat back 4, with 2 cntr mids and 2 wide

ticks all boxes for me as opposed to 3 at back or a diamond

id have goss docherty cntr mid sorry holt pushed off ball too easily wee man luv your enthusiasm but you can’t tackle

murphy and either ca sevilla’s or windass wide with morelos and cummings up top

05 Feb 2018 16:43:40
two cdms is not the answer but two strikers will get us what we lasck in goals we should play a diamond in there

04 Feb 2018 17:39:35
Evening bears! Still hurting from yesterday but not as much as Calvin55 will be 😏, my thoughts on yesterday’s performance were:

1.We lost the midfield battle for this Murty carries the can.

2. We were victim of yet another catastrophic refereeing performance in a Hibs home game, surely the difference between an agonising defeat and a disappointing draw yesterday?

3. Regardless of the ref’s performance we need to be able change it quicker and maybe if Cummings was more match fit he would have.

4. If candeias/ windass are off the boil then they are not contributing enough. (But for £700k/ £120k respectively then we can’t expect world beaters? )

Basically I feel that while the result was poor we have to take It on the chin and try to put a run together moving forward. This has been a regular occurrence in Murty’s tenure so far and I think he will be feeling as bad as us all today, he seems that type. We need a win against Thistle midweek and the bottom line is inconsistency will kill our season unless the players get their finger out.

Totally agree with the boys saying Docherty in for Windass! I’d also go with two up top from the start, we gave Hibs too much respect yesterday.

04 Feb 2018 16:23:30
Also to add to my earlier points, we missed a Ryan Jack/ Mcrorie badly yesterday.

I feel Mcrorie or Jack would have been right onto McGinn driving forward for their first goal.

Just need to pick ourselves up (yet again) and try again. Still believe we will finish second, If we win our game in hand there's only 3 points between us and the sheep and we will probably get that back in our last game vs Aberdeen😂.

Keep the faith.

04 Feb 2018 19:55:27
We could finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th as we are no better than either Aberdeen or Hibs. Don’t think we much better than Hearts either but they are probably too much behind

04 Feb 2018 15:25:18
First things first regarding the enigma that is josh windass! Irrespective of how poor he was against hibs yesterday, i've said all along that he hides in most games and doesn't contribute nowhere near enough! IMHO he's never a glasgow rangers player and just don't see the fuss from certain quarters, that he has what it takes to be a glasgow rangers player going forward! I like our manager graeme murty, but would urge him to drop windass and get greg docherty into our starting eleven! A wee note on jamie murphy, who i personally rate and think he'll be an excellent player for us, once he's fully match fit! I saw glimpses of murphy against hibs yesterday and the pace and directness he brings to our team! In the next couple of weeks or so, jamie murphy will be flying and become a very important player for us! He's the type of talent who'll have us all, on the edge of our seats! I still think he's the best signing murty made in january! He also has a terrific appetite for the game and works his socks off! Josh windass take note!

04 Feb 2018 16:49:07
Bang on supercooper regarding windass. Only seen when the ball comes to him doesn't go looking for it . If he did he would need to show more than he does but unfortunately not got it to show.

04 Feb 2018 19:58:20
I thought Candeias was shocking yesterday and don’t see what he offers. Gets too easily brushed off the ball and was weak in the challenge with McGinn which lead to their goal. Naive management playing Windass, Candeias and Murphy in the starting line up when it was obvious Hibs would flood the midfield

04 Feb 2018 20:41:02
Arthur D candieas had poor game yesterday but for the most part of the season has been brilliant and could say he's been pedros best signing. Him and tav down right are unplayable most games. He tracks back well and works his socks off for the team.

05 Feb 2018 09:06:32
Bburnblue

Unplayable most games? You mean the games like Hibs at home twice, Celtic, Hamilton and St Johnstone at home and Kilmarnock and Dundee away? To say they are unplayable most games isn’t true. Candeias is the classic example of a journeyman player as his career shows. As for being one of pedros best signings that isn’t too difficult with all the rubbish he signed

05 Feb 2018 16:34:55
Agree with all the points regarding Windass. The boy has bags of ability and potential but doesn't apply himself enough in matches and can sometimes feel as though we are playing with 10 men when he is on the pitched. I genuinely think he needs schooled on the tactical side more, positioning, when to pass, when to shoot. I know that comes naturally to a lot of players but others have to work at it and he certainly does.

In regard to Candeias, I think he is one of our best players when he is on his game. Which to be fair to him he has been most of the season. But when he is off it he can be woeful.

In terms of Murty, he needs to realise that we play for 90 mins. We don't have to go all out attack the first 10 mins of the game. Win the midfield battle and the right to play first and then the rest falls into place.

04 Feb 2018 12:01:40
I like murty I think he speaks well and have no doubt he is a good coach but he is not tactically good enough or experienced to be our manager full time! His inability to make a sub when things are not going well and waiting until 70 mins before changing it has cost us in all the defeats he has had! Under advocaat and smith the players knew they had to start well or they would be off either at half time or sooner if need be, murty doesn't have that fear factor that they need!

04 Feb 2018 12:54:33
i think wee morelos although he scores squanders too many chances I would put him on a slow boat to china as Kenny is back next week for back up to cummings along with Herrera and dodoo. We could use the revenue to target an established striker in the summer.

04 Feb 2018 19:59:37
Herrera? What is he going to do? He is rank rotten and is a waste of a jersey

05 Feb 2018 16:33:40
ArthurD, how do you know Herrera is rank rotten? we haven't seen him play - I think he would link up well with Morelos or Cummings in a front two but we'll never know if Murty doesn't give him a chance.

04 Feb 2018 11:39:59
Scott Allan dived, he connned the ref. He is a rat of he highest degree. Tavernier should have left some distance between him and Allan considering he was going away from goal but it's a bad day when you can't get close to your man inside the box without him taking a fall. Disgraceful.

Anyway, onto matter we could have controlled - the first goal, Goss tries to track back and stop McGinn, why doesn't one of the back 4 come forward and block the path to goal? There were only 2 Hibs players in front of McGinn, it didn't take all 4 of the back line to mark them. Cardoso should be getting a shot in the first team I feel (most will disagree but we need a faster defender against teams like Hibs) .

04 Feb 2018 11:24:28
cant remember a season with such a bad home record probs have to look back to jock wallace days to match it windass needs dropped and quickly docherty should have started as should cummings murty has to grow a set and start to be more ruthless if he wants the job fulltime.

04 Feb 2018 13:00:07
is cummins some wonder player. he is no better than morales. he hd no service, absolutely none. its the midfield fault not the striker. mjrty should had windass off at half time. now i'm sure millar and wallace will walk back into the team because murty won't say no to them.

04 Feb 2018 10:50:15
Just watched Mginns goal.2 Hibs players in an offside position,1 not interfering the other you could argue one way or the other. No excuses just pointing it out. Have a look, what do you reckon?

04 Feb 2018 11:19:39
Can't believe there is people on here slagging Jason holt
The guy has been wan of our better performances

04 Feb 2018 13:18:41
Best of a bad bunch still don't mean you are that good. I like holt he is reliable and always puts in a shift but No way is holt good enough for a first team ranges side week in week out its just the midfield signings over the past two years are either terrible or injured so he keeps getting back in but are midfield should be better than Jason holt by now

04 Feb 2018 09:57:23
I wish we would stop playing this Celtic minded victim card. The referee didn't ruin the game, our s*@t players did. If we were good enough then the ref could not do hee haw about it. Still need better in a few positions. Foderingham, Holt and Windass need upgraded. Still 3 or 4 REAL quality players away from a proper challenge. 🇬🇧.

04 Feb 2018 10:22:04
Windass, bates, holt. Is more like it. If it wasn't for Wes we would be dropping more points. The cover for defence is appealing, miss a rossiter/ Jack type player. When u lose those players and you are stuck with windass the ghost and the holt the fluffy duck, I really can't wait for Dorrans to return in beside Goss and Jack, even halliday in an advanced mid position would have done more and put in more fight than Windass, what does he need to do to be subbed.

04 Feb 2018 10:31:57
Yeah I would put Bates in that aswell mate but I also stand by Foderingham. He is an accident waiting to happen. There is far better than him out there. Everytime somebody plays the ball back to him my heart is in my mouth. Good shot stopper but poor all rounder imo. 🇬🇧

04 Feb 2018 11:45:07
I understand your point mate and get where you're coming from. Let's hope he plans to play mccrorie with Martin as the young lad is sadly missed. Can Cummings not play the number 10 role instead of Casper the ghost windass, I think windass might be a better impact player off the Bench when a game is stretched.

04 Feb 2018 14:35:02
Cummings is an out and out penalty box striker nothing more. He can hold up the play to bring others in that's not his game. In and around the 6 yard box is where he excels unfortunately as long g as we have this idiot in charge then we won't see the best of him. To suggest he can or could play the number 10 role shows a distinct knowledge of the game. Put it this way would mccoiat be suited to the play making number 10 role as that's what your asking

04 Feb 2018 15:07:38
Have a serious word with yourself,
Rab10000!Calling the rangers manager an idiot! Absolutely s***e mate! No need for that talk whatsoever!

04 Feb 2018 18:00:20
My apologies for going overboard regards murty, but that doesn't alter the fact that the guy is tactically inept and naive and should be nowhere near the position he holds at our club. I've said it before but an untried manager should never be allowed to learn his trade at a club like ours, Far too many baffling decisions from him. I also wonder if docherty and Cummings were Allen's choices rather than murtys as I see no other reason why he won't play them. If they are still not picked and windass etc starts on Wednesday then I really will question whose idea it was to sign them.

04 Feb 2018 09:05:23
Anyone else want Morelos and Cummings to both start on Tuesday?

04 Feb 2018 10:03:57
Think we should give it a try see how they work together and young Docherty in midfield add a bit of steel that’s why we bought him box to box player should’ve started him yesterday put him on Mcginn cancelled him out fr Hamilton

04 Feb 2018 11:24:19
Let’s get Jo Dodoo back on the park, the best explosive and natural finisher at the club.

04 Feb 2018 20:31:57
Hardie now scored three goals in two games at Livingston, he is worth a new deal

Review Of The Day 4th February 2018

04 Feb 2018 04:38:30
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 4th February 2018

04 Feb 2018 04:13:53
Love eds and fellow bears but my days this no lace frustrates the days out of me. The players are not allowed a bad game! Why am i even bothering to comment rt bh

04 Feb 2018 07:47:14
Too many bad games, sitting 3rd in the league whilst they win trebles and march towards 10 in a row, NO the players are not allowed a bad game!

04 Feb 2018 08:38:12
These players are playing to keep their places in first team squad with Dorrans Jack Wallace Alves McCorrie coming back they have to perform every match.

04 Feb 2018 08:41:21
We've lost five games at home this season and you expect us to be okay with yesterday? How much can our patience and understanding of the term 'a bad day at the office' be stretched?

04 Feb 2018 09:16:13
Kri55

Your absolutely spot on mate why are you bothering to make such a daft comment? Our home record in the league is woeful with far too many defeats. It’s runs much deeper than just having an off day and it seems many of our players can’t play in front of the home support.

04 Feb 2018 09:20:20
The trouble is it’s not just 1 bad game mate.

04 Feb 2018 03:40:40
this was a massive chance to make some ground up on celtic after they droped points against kilmarnock eirler in day but our players came short at ibrox once again we need sort this home form asap and get back to winning a few in a row at home make ibrox a hard place to come again.

05 Feb 2018 12:52:38
Craig, Ibrox is already a hard place to come again in my opinion.
Painful in fact.

04 Feb 2018 01:32:15
Still work to be done but can't turn on the players right away . bad day it happens

04 Feb 2018 07:57:01
Ok so how long do we give the players? The same length of time they got under the magic hat? Longer than they got under Pedro? We were lucky to get away with a win against the sheep could easily have been 2-2 if not for Fods. Lucky at County ref denied them a stone wall penalty and our 2 goals were a GK error and a Lucky deflection! How anyone can get excited with the quality of loan players brought in is beyond me. How long do we give the players?

04 Feb 2018 09:12:56
Haha come on Calvin lucky at Ross county. Wes didn't make one save in the match. 2 stone wall penalties? Neither the penalty they got nor the other penalty "about" were penalties. The one given was actually one of the worst penalty decisions I've seen. Lucky against Aberdeen? Yes they had chances at The end and Wes made a couple of good saves but we could have been 4 or 5 up at that point easily. Even yesterday Murphy could have put us one up with in 20 seconds, windass and Murphy then missed a sitter each one on one before they scored the first. It could have been 3-3 at half time and we dominated the second half.

04 Feb 2018 09:22:06
Calvin55

Can’t really argue with much of what you said. The excitement about the new signings did baffle me a bit as most of them were players who were struggling elsewhere and couldn’t get a game. Still not convinced about the manager either and not sure he is the answer. I did post on here how concerning it was just how many times an average Aberdeen side opened us open in the last 15 mins of that game and was slaughtered. Hibs did the same first half and the amount of times there right midfielder got so much space to put in crosses was astonishing.

04 Feb 2018 10:25:31
StuartAC could have been 4 or 5 up or Murphy could have put us 1 up is all could've would've should've nonsense! The fact Aberdeen tore us apart in the last 15 mins and the fact our goals were fortunate against County shows our squad is no better than the rest of the league ( apart from them) . The fact we are 3rd and possibly have to even fight for 3rd shows we are bang average! No point making excuses mate your just kidding yourself on!
