Where is josh windass? that's my question fellow bears! At ibrox today we were all discussing this when we realised what our starting team was! what's wrong with this young man? This chopping and changing by mark warburton is not having any impact and no continuity in the team! He has to find out what his best starting eleven is! Really something warbs should have figured out long before now!

04 Feb 2017 23:29:21
It makes no sense, the manager appears to have taken the team to his tactical limit with no signs of improvement and it's run out of luck with premiership opposition.

04 Feb 2017 23:37:56
So all week we all moan wanting changes including you and then you come on moaning that he changed the team. Strange.

04 Feb 2017 23:54:02
Supercoop, it has certainly taken you a long time to see the light about warburton, man is clueless.
I also remember you told me i would end up with egg on my face when i told you on day one that Garner was a total waste of £1.8 Mil.
Surprised none of your "contacts" marked your card on that one.

04 Feb 2017 23:55:26
Warburton doesn't know anything

05 Feb 2017 00:11:44
It absolutely amazes me! It drives me mad! That our manager will not play a formation other than this loose 4-3-3 It ain't a solid 4-3-3 with 2 of the front 3 hugging the wings and especially feel for McCay out on the left always needin up cut in due to bein right footed!

Really would like to seriously us play a 4-4-2 not sayin that we stick with that from heterosexual on in but would really like to see McCay on the right and Garner playing alongside Miller up front. Unfortunately the way Warbs sets up the team and his unwillingness to change is the main reason I can see him going at end of season.

Also can't understand why he put Hyndman in place for Halliday thought he should have stayed were he was with poss Toral or Hodson even Wilson playing DM Anyways Bears the fact King has not sanctioned deals for Hill and Miller says to me that all internal deals are off with maybe exception of McKay until the new manager comes in!

In fact I think that this reason makes it absolutely obvious that this will be the case AND Hill and Miller have prob been informed of this as they would want to know about their future. Don't think it will matter who comes in ad anus decent manager should know that Hill and Miller are needed especially due to our situation at present. SOS to Redknapp or DeBoer poss have Ferguson as assistant as too soon for Barry to take reigns totally.

05 Feb 2017 00:03:24
Its got to the stage i can't even watch MWs pressers now as they make me feel uncomfortable. its the same ild ramblings constantly.

05 Feb 2017 02:54:34
I have to assume that Windass was dropped from the bench to accommodate Halliday. Great shame if that was the case since Windass has been decent when he has come on as a substitute.

05 Feb 2017 04:23:31
Between now and end of season if all goes well can see it. Frank in charge with Ronald as assistant and Barry as first team coach. A lot of circumstances between now and May will dictate this but this is based upon a best possible scenario.

05 Feb 2017 09:28:16
Bears. What do you think would be a decent amount of Transfer Money handed over to Warbs OR as I'm slowly starting to think DeBoer come the Summer. Honest opinions Bears how much will King etc hand over? My guess is anything between 4-7m! being really optimistic on the latter but I think King held back in Jan as I feel he's lost faith in Warbs AND if he is going to bring in someone who has something about them experience etc then before taking job they will want assurances of a Transfer Fund and if its someone like DeBoer I personally can't see him coming unless 5-6m is garunteed. Money may be the only reason Warbs stays IF we are that hard up but got a feelin King etc have the means and or a future investor is being lined up. Not in La La Land Bears really do think and feel this is going to happen!

05 Feb 2017 11:39:31
I could well end up with egg on my face but, I think our gaffer is losing the dressing room. I said it after the hearts game that we will struggle for second place. We are 9 games away from the split and in 3rd, on goal difference. Aberdeens good well better than ours with a game in hand. 24 games in and a long way to go.

04 Feb 2017 23:08:01
I wonder if I am alone here but i couldn't help thinking "stop going backwards! " while watching that game and many others.

It is far too predictable, we stick to it even when the opposition know where we are going and it looks amateur.

I wouldn't mind that style if it worked but it doesn't, then the other problem is that when someone decides to go long ball (against plan a) they can't make the pass and it ends up off the pitch.

It was a quirky thing to have a manager with only one plan (that seemed to work) in the beginning, that was in the championship and now in the premiership it's not quirky it's an ever increasing problem.

04 Feb 2017 23:38:27
It's like watching Liverpool. No pace no movement no urgency no runs being made all side to side and slow.

05 Feb 2017 01:09:15
It's like watching Liverpool? If only - they have played some amazing stuff this season. It is better to have played and lost than have no idea what so ever! If Warburton had half the tactical insight of Klopp and a third of the man management and motivational skills Celtic would be chasing us. Route cause analysis, why is this season a train crash? WARBURTON. The most inept manager in 140 years ably assisted by the most inept assistant manager in 140 years. And yes, that includes Sally - he always knew he was winging it - Warburton thinks he adds value on and off the pitch. Guess Joey B said, "I bet you, you are crap. " MW is not a football man - he is a networker and that is not the same thing. MW is enhanced in his chosen career by being associated with us, "The Famous Glasgow Rangers"; we are sullied by having him in our hallowed GTF! U R 0

05 Feb 2017 13:15:18
Omg cee, Liverpool before Christmas were superb, prob the best team to watch down south, they had plenty of pace, made plenty runs off the ball, high tempo, high press, with an end product, don't know what football you watch but it's not the same Liverpool I seen.

04 Feb 2017 22:01:16
i honestly don't know what to think about mw tactics or team selection but i also don't think its time for knee jerk reactions he should be guven to end of season giving any new man a chance to bet his own team.

04 Feb 2017 23:38:39
Largebill, i have stood by our manager mark warburton on these pages, as anyone on here will know, all along. Here's the thing, he MUST change the formation of our team from time to time, in order to turn games in our favour! He's far too set on his 4-3-3 ways and its every chance it will cost him his job!

He must see during a game, why its not working and be able to tweek the formation in order to get the favourable result for us! All good managers can do this! I'll ask you all on here tonight. Will mark warburton see the season out as rangers manager?

Now i'm a worried bear that we may not get 2nd or even worse get pipped for 3rd! Do our board with this fear very much in evidence now, stick with warbs until the end of the season, or twist to get a fresh input from another manager, to push us to achieve 2nd place? Over to you glasgow rangers board of directors! Big decision has to be made! quickly!

05 Feb 2017 18:19:10
As you know coop ivy backed him also, but I can't do that anymore, he just can't or won't change, even his subs are so predictable and like for like, he must go after this season, he's just not good enough, btw it's not easy to admit being wrong, but how wrong was I lol

04 Feb 2017 22:23:33
Crazy question for you Bears.
What would you rather have finishing 2nd OR finishing 3rd and winning the Cup? So WHAT would you want? and yeah I know its a hilarious option BUT what if?

04 Feb 2017 23:16:39
Finishing 3rd and winning the cup however we will not win the cup

04 Feb 2017 23:13:31
Obviously 3rd and the scot cup

05 Feb 2017 02:56:36
strange question since there is little benefit in finishing second rather than third. Winning the cup would give us some silverware!

05 Feb 2017 07:13:57
So Cup and any position then Bears? and Warbs off yeah? Cause I think I
Id take that

04 Feb 2017 21:20:13
Kiernan and halliday were shocking today why are they not dropped? Warburton has a lot to answer for. oh wait, halliday and kiernan weren't playing, so who's to blame now?

04 Feb 2017 21:44:44
Warburton and king 50/50 just like before the game.

04 Feb 2017 21:51:50
The team played better without both of them. Senderos had a decent game, plenty of chances were made but we failed to convert them. First half we were poor which i'd down to poor team motivation and a lack of respect for the jersey, (which is disappointing and raises questions about Weir yet again) .

We are still in need of some quality but with the right management team these players would improve.

04 Feb 2017 22:04:00
We need a goalscorer to convert the chances and in my opinion Garner is not the answer but our options are limited.

04 Feb 2017 22:15:39
warbs has to carry the can. yes he made right call dropping kiernan and halliday but he brought both in and between them have played almost all our games last 18months hence our defensive frailties

unfortunately a bigger issue is our lack of goals - makay plays week in week out as part of a front 3 but his goals per game is poor. as for garner he just does not look like a striker with any sort of instinct in front of goal to me and he will struggle even to get goals close to dble figures in an entire season and for a rangers striker that is nowhere near good enough

dodoo has shown he can finnish and is quick and isn't injured so why isn't he getting a game?

04 Feb 2017 22:35:51
The manager. Even in leaving halliday out he drops windass from squad altogether to get his wee pet hslliday a strip. Windass shows flashes of ability and promise every time he's on park but doesn't get a chance. Dodoo doesn't get a chance. Crooks didn't get a chance. Hodson hardly gets a chance. Great signing policy

04 Feb 2017 23:19:07
Bigblue Ayr

Windass has shown rare flashes of ability and quite a few times doesn't look that interested. Not sure he really fancies it up here and wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the summer

04 Feb 2017 23:25:15
They got dropped for their poor performances. Unfortunately we don't have the talent to replace them. These are his players, he's out his depth, he doesn't deserve anymore time in the dug out.

What do players need to do to get a chance in the team. The manager and players are to blame, this is rangers not some pub team. His tactics are poor, interviews are nothing but nonsense, his substitutions are ridiculous. He needs to go, we need men who know what rangers are all about.

04 Feb 2017 23:38:59
Clint Hill and miller both absolutely shocking.

05 Feb 2017 12:49:35
Stewie, I do agree. But would you not be the same if you were watching the guff we have on the park while sitting on bench or getting 5 mins here and there, if it's 4-3-3 windass should be right of front 3 anyway he looks more an attacker than mf to me.

04 Feb 2017 20:17:57
I still feel we missed a trick not getting Lafferty and said so at the time, many disagree but he would have answered our scoring problems to an extent anyway.

04 Feb 2017 22:24:32
Best striker in the game and we missed out

04 Feb 2017 23:39:39
He's a lot more than a goalscorer. He's direct big quick and would bring a lot more movement and direct attacks up top.

05 feb 2017 00:12:03
kyle lafferty is a pollution, end of story! we can get a lot better than that! the guys a total waster who incidentally can't get a regular game with any of the clubs he's played for since he walked out on us, spouting how he was going to sue the club in court! so do me a favour guys, as this character should never be near our football club again!

05 Feb 2017 09:05:34
Supercooper

At least we can agree about Lafferty. He has done nothing in club football since deserting us and I hope he never comes back

04 Feb 2017 19:43:15
Disappointed to see Hyndman in the defensive role. I thought that was a big mistake given his creative abilities in and around the box and his willingness to shoot. Surely somebody else would be better suited to the DM role.

04 Feb 2017 20:26:59
Maybe in the absence of a suitable replacement it wasn't the day to leave out Halliday.

04 Feb 2017 20:51:56
Halliday isn't capable in that role either. As demonstrated on several occasions.

04 Feb 2017 21:04:47
Play Danny Wilson dm drop holt and push hydman into his natural position

04 Feb 2017 20:51:56
Halliday isn't capable in that role either. As demonstrated on several occasions.

04 Feb 2017 21:04:47
Play Danny Wilson dm drop holt and push hydman into his natural position

04 Feb 2017 20:51:56
Halliday isn't capable in that role either. As demonstrated on several occasions.

04 Feb 2017 21:04:47
Play Danny Wilson dm drop holt and push hydman into his natural position

04 Feb 2017 21:27:18
I thought Toral would have been better in that DM role. He's a tidy footballer who I think would have broken up play and fed the pacier players like McKay, Holt and Hyndman.

Up front I was disappointed Waghorn didn't start. I thought he made a big difference when he came on. Sorry but I don't rate Garner at all. He will never be a goalscorer. Massive, massive mistake in signing him.

Some posters have suggested that we are playing the wrong formation for him. I don't think it would make one bit of difference if he played in a front two. He just hasn't got it. The way Schalk finished for County's goal - I don't think Joe could have done the same

04 Feb 2017 21:36:22
We really miss Dom ball in that position. There just seems to be no confidence I no Wallace scored today but he seems to play the ball back a lot and his throw ins are terrible.

Does anyone know how long rossiter is out for?

04 Feb 2017 21:47:33
Wallace was shocking today. Looked very slow and disinterested. He cost us the opener.

04 Feb 2017 22:04:43
By playing Hyndman in that defensive role we lost out on his attacking presence and perhaps Toral would be a better fit although that said both of them are far better than Halliday. I would rather see Windass on the bench than Halliday, he is not an impact player whereas Windass has something to offer coming off the bench.

04 Feb 2017 22:10:37
Toral and Hyndman are both attacking midfield players and I am sure Arsenal and Bournemouth managers wouldn't be happy if Warburton played them out of position.
Basically we have no one to play the DM role apart from Halliday who is also an attacking midfielder.
Maybe Warbs should try Bates in the DM role or play 4-4-2.

04 Feb 2017 22:13:48
Wallace has been with us through all the divisions which is a credit to him but who do u suggest we play at LB?

04 Feb 2017 23:40:07
Clint Hill cost us the opener, yet again.

05 Feb 2017 09:32:28
What about Wallace going to DM and Hodson going to LB or vice versa? Thought Bears?

05 Feb 2017 12:45:35
You know that might be a good shout Andy. Wallace is a good footballer and still mobile enough

04 Feb 2017 19:36:07
Think we should keep senderos at the back, but with danny willson hill doesn't do it for me. he's past it i think and also have to say what a waste of space garner has been. has done nothing for us at all. that proves he's worth the price tag. we need a prso / jelavic.

04 Feb 2017 20:17:26
How can u keep senderos and not hill that's mad a would hate to see how bad we would be without hill and we are bad the now only one who takes control of defence and wins a header he looks comftable on the ball aswel hill and wilson would be my centre halfs also why when we are chasing a win today did warbs no put on dodoo give him a go he made 2 subs today should have gambled and put him on

04 Feb 2017 20:47:19
Give bates a run!

04 Feb 2017 23:40:34
I would play bates and Wilson. Hill has been shocking for months.

04 Feb 2017 19:47:42
Well, well, well. what a shocking display and I genuinely thought the lads would come out firing on all cylinders after Wednesdays result. We are just so easy to play against it's unreal.

I believe the bulk of the problem is tactical. If you have poor players then you don't ask them to play outwith their capabilities, something Warburton has been implementing massively. In the Championship we saw a few times where our tactics were completely rendered useless by teams catching on to our inability to switch game strategies. The victory against Celtic completely blinded us against the glaring problems that needed to be addressed before we jumped into the SPL.

The decision making in this team is embarrassing, almost non-existant. Today we had Wes trying to skin a striker who'd already scored, Wallace as per usual sits too far up the park and was taken out of the game by a simple over the top ball from which they scored and Hill actually turned around and had a go at Wallace who just shook his head and walked off, this behavior from the club captain! A captain who offers no leadership on the park whatsoever. Hyndman is one of the best if not the best player at the club and he's sitting in front of the defence today rather than behind the striker where he is more effective and this would also fill the blank space in front of our centre mids stopping Garner and Miller coming into midfield in search for the ball. I was also disappointed in McKay today, more often than not he ends up at left back because he spends his time waiting for Lee Wallace to run in behind him. Why hasn't Warburton instructed him to run at players, get crosses in and get in behind the defence? instead we have our left back in scoring positions.

Warburton has spent almost £3m which is far more than any other team except Celtic so clearly money isn't the main problem, Cathro at Hearts hasn't a massive budget and he brought in 7 new players who gelled quickly to thump us 4-1! They've now scored 7 goals in their last 2 matches and I fear that they will beat us to second place while Aberdeen secure 3rd. We have a 20+ goal striker sitting on the bench and when he gets game time he's deployed on the wings.

04 Feb 2017 20:20:31
Who is the 20 goal striker on the bench?

04 Feb 2017 20:58:19
Unfortunately many fans seem to think we have "waste" more money to match Celtic rather than seek value for money like Hearts

04 Feb 2017 20:58:19

04 Feb 2017 22:08:22
Very good points Rossiter. I reckon that the majority of the fans are in agreement that Wallace is not captain material but I am not sure that Warburton has the leadership qualities needed either and David Weir isn't showing the same skills on the touchline as he did on the park.

Altogether, very disappointing.

05 Feb 2017 09:42:37
Agree thought we would have played against County with fire in our belly BUT the FORMATION is working against US! we do have good players but if we don't score eArly OR get one against US the lads are not confident in playing together in that system! Can u imagine the wee private chats the guys are having AND they will be! This in itself will breed negativity and Warbs should be able to see this even if no player is actually asking to see him to discuss the players concerns WALLACE should be doing this! Sure he god do it in the right manner but not 100% sure he is but it doesn't have to be the Captain its that obvious that u would think Miller Hill god dam Weir! Don't think my support for Warbs is as strong as was!

04 Feb 2017 19:38:50
Hi guys missed the game on rtv how did senderos get on today.

04 Feb 2017 19:48:50
Played solidly from what I hear.

04 Feb 2017 19:16:36
4-3-3 doesn't work for us simple every team knows that's what we are about. Fair play to manager for making needed changes today but system also needs changed. Garner needs a poacher next to him. 4-4-2 would be the way to go in my opinion

04 Feb 2017 19:30:34
Fair play to the manager? You are joking? 3 attempts to beat the mighty Ross County and 3 failures yeah credit to the manager

04 Feb 2017 19:40:11
He dropped players that needed dropped. But it is not anywhere near good enough that why I said 433 don't work

04 Feb 2017 22:09:50
He only dropped Kiernan since by deploying Halliday on the bench we had one less sub that could come on to change the game. Windass would have been a more logical backup player.

04 Feb 2017 18:32:39
Could you imagine the reaction of Bears fans if this team was sitting fifth or six in the league ATM.

Amazing the reaction after two poor results, given the fact for that most of this season we've been second, admittedly competing tooth and nail with Aberdeen. But second nonetheless.

The way the team capitulated against Hearts in the two games at Tyncastle was completely unacceptable, and the way some ndividuals sold the shirt against Celtic at Parkhead was beyond a joke, but three 90 mins in the season is a necessary evil for where we have to be.

Cannot 100% cannot turn into 90s era Celtic, changing managers left right and centre. Absolutely must stick to our guns no matter how tough the last few months of this season gets.

Comfortably second and Scraping second, not much difference between two if you're being pragmatic.

We'd honestly be willing to shove MW out the door because of one abysmal transfer window.
All your favourite managers have had transfer windows where signings completed didn't work out but MW has signed Toral and Hyndman in January and both have added significantly already. Hyndman more so of course.

For those who say what's MW done to deserve credit. He stablised the club last year and his brand or style of football was a winning style throughout most of last season.

This fan is willing to give MW and his team a little more time, until the end of the season to get that winning mentality back. Not jumping on that sack MW band wagon just yet.

04 Feb 2017 19:01:12
Constantly torn between this exact viewpoint and the fear that accepting second best becomes habitual.

04 Feb 2017 19:01:19
Its deeper than that thorn! Its signing too many similar style midfield players, signing garner and then using him on point of our attack when its clear to anyone he needs a partner as a front two! Its raving about capturing the signing of dodoo and not playing him when we can't score goals its a lack of fitness in some players and the same mistakes that could be coached out of their game! Its sticking with the same guys and tactics regardless of opposition its getting hung up on balancing the CBS ie wilson and hill both favour the left hand side of the pairing so they rarely play in same team! Its crooks going on loan after one start out of position its his team looking out of ideas and without a leader when they lose a goal! Its the fact I can't actually remember the last time I was impressed with the teams performance win lose or draw and the fact that we get bullied all over the pitch most weeks! Everyone can see the man is struggling he doesn't like the way the media work in this country and he's struggling to take criticism! he's a good guy with good ideas about promoting the game and imo his future in football lies in developing at grass roots level, definitely not at a club like ours where expectations are so high

04 Feb 2017 19:03:30
If mw had played same team as wed fair enough but he dropped the players that we all wanted dropped and yet the people that were shouting for the changes he made to team have still got the knives out. i'm not happy we dropped more points but mw has been accused of being too stubborn to change yet when he does what all the champ managers on here want you're still not happy.

04 Feb 2017 19:24:59
1st time post. I think the Rangers job just now would challenge the best managers in world football.
Very difficult to accept 2nd and current results but remember we have just had 2 seasons in championship. Celtic have a settled team. To finish 2nd would be the 1st part of step to challenging Celtic next season. I think we all need to be realistic.

04 Feb 2017 19:36:00
Thorn

Maybe it's escaped your notice but Warburton has failed to beat Ross County 3 times, St Johnstone twice and Hamilton at home. They are hardly the cream of Scottish football and I think you might find we have a budget that's probably 10 times what they do. 12 wins out of 24 in a second rate league. The worst goal difference of all the top 4 sides with no real strikers or centre halves. Maybe that's ok for you but some of us expect a lot better and recognise that this manager isn't the answer

04 Feb 2017 19:42:33
True but some results and displays have been unacceptable, the kind of dross results v teams we should be beating and this has constantly haunted Rangers through history. We're surprised but not surprised by these results.
We knew we wouldn't catch Celtic and would have struggles v Aberdeen and Hearts but a large batch of the results have been disappointing.

04 Feb 2017 18:52:28
"both added significantly already" by beating Motherwell, getting skelped of Hearts and drawing with Ross County at home!? Please define significantly

04 Feb 2017 19:51:13
Ger4life comedy gold mate u just keep giving lol. You say be realistic then say challenge celtic next season. Cudnt make it up.
You will lose Hyndman/ Toral at end of season, Miller, Hill will be a year older you will have no money for players except loans and frees yet u will challenge us.
Have u forgot the money we have and will be spent on better players, yet your manager can't get 1 decent player to improve your team.
Your top goalscorer is on 6 goals and he 37, as for the line manager could improve us, what total nonsense.
BR has come in and totally transformed us with practically the same players.

04 Feb 2017 19:52:27
Joscro

You know it's only been in the last 2-3 months where people have been coming on here and saying they knew we weren't going to challenge Celtic. Quite a few just before the season began we giving it large about us being back in the league and giving them a challenge. The manager is also quoted as saying 2nd is nowhere for Rangers but he seems to have changed his tune too

04 Feb 2017 19:57:31
Sorry guys . I have stuck by him until now . Bottom line in no improvement. No improvement. No improvement. Its getting worse . We have kept our heads just above water but now drowning fast . Time for change the sooner the better . If i could see some light, then i would stick by him but there's not . Its not gona change .

04 Feb 2017 20:15:48
Bmf: I agree, it comes to a point with every manager at some point, do you stick or twist, how long can you hold off, that's the question.

04 Feb 2017 20:51:54
Stewie.

I agree with your post and what you say certainly hasn't escaped my notice. The three games against Ross County cost us six points and we should be winning every game at Ibrox in style, but St Johnstone are a decent outfit under Tommy Wright and Hamilton at home, we finished that game with 10 players on the pitch because of the Waghorn injury.

But let's be honest here, it's our first season back, were up against the cup final aspect when teams visit our ground and we've played a large chunk of this season with a team that was assembled to win Scotland's second tier.

Budget is important, no one argues with this, but when you consider this is a first year back, first year in the top flight playing for Rangers for most if not all of the starting line up, apart from Wilson, Miller, Wallace, and the manager isn't used to managing a team in a competitive division where there expected to finish a strong second, get Europe and have every team gunning for your throat, it'll take time to get used to.

Whether we like to believe it or not, Hearts, St Johnstone and Aberdeen are decent teams and finishing second ahead of this group would be one heck of an achievement given where the team was when MW took over.

04 Feb 2017 21:01:54
Jaws, yes he changed a couple of personnel today, then ruined what might have been a good move by pulling our most exciting attacking midfielder back to play as a defensive midfielder. Anybody who isn't blind would have dropped Halliday and Kiernan (but maybe not Waghorn) but they would never have made the massive blunder of moving Hyndman back.

That sums up everything that's wrong with Warburton, his poor tactical decisions, lack of ability (Or stubborness) to change things round, predetermined substitutions (like a kid on Champ Manager, the thing you accuse your fellow fans of being), his lack of either motivation or inspiration. He needs to be removed and soon or we will struggle for third place here.

04 Feb 2017 22:11:13
There are no decent teams in this league, It's not even 2nd rate! In Europe our teams gave been beaten by teams from Gibraltar and Malta! Decent teams! lol do me a favour mate

04 Feb 2017 18:05:07
That's a poor result, it's going to be a slog in the run in! MW is not good enough, he's out of his depth and his comments after games are disgraceful, he gets very defensive and he speaks like a city trader, it's drivel. He's not what Gers need, however they say he won't walk away and King can't sack him. what a mess. They need a manager that can get results with those players, surely they're better than that!

04 Feb 2017 18:26:46
Fair assessment miko.

04 Feb 2017 18:38:55
Just back from the game shocking it's not enjoyable to watch you work all week looking forward to your football on a Sat but I can't remember the last time I walked out of Ibrox and thought "that was a great game " it's so boring our goal difference says it all 24 games +6 the system just does not work we need to get two up we need players in the box how often do we win the ball back high up the park and no one in the box so back it comes we go side ways backward any way but forward we never change shape during a game to counter the way an opposing team just like for like MW for me is to stubborn he must see that it's not working the transfers in has been baffling few have been a success but if I was Dave King my main worry would be that there was so many empty seats today these are season ticket holders who have paid up front but didn't bother to turn up they are sick of the displays so when renewal time comes are they going to be as willing to stump up again many won't over to you Mr Warburton but you jacket is on a shaky nail

04 Feb 2017 19:41:05
Miko

One of the best posts on here for a while. You've got the nail on the head by saying he can't take criticism. In fact I would go further and say I've never seen a manager go in a huff as much as him when he gets criticised. He is worse than a child and shouldn't be doing the job. The only thing that really amazes me is that some people still can't see it and keep making excuses for him

04 Feb 2017 20:07:09
His comment the other day was the best. He was going on about how celtic can field internationalist yet he has kept 2 guys who have played world cup/ euros on the bench for the 2 superstars he got from Wigan in tavenier and kiernan.

04 Feb 2017 21:08:07
thinkabout it, Rangers TV reported the crowd as being over 49,000 as we were looking at a half-empty stadium! It's like the Iraqi guy Comical Ali, 'there are no US tanks in Bagdhad' as they're passing by the window.

I think we must count all season ticket holders whether there or not, and all those who meant to go but coudn't make it and all those whose mammies wouldn't let them out.

04 Feb 2017 22:48:24
It will get worse think about it, I left at half time today couldn't watch any more of that crap, and a few more had the same idea I counted prob 50 people on way out same as me

04 Feb 2017 17:55:25
Rangers XI
1 Goram
2 G Stevens
3 A Numan
4 T Butcher
5 R Gough
6 G van Bronkhurst
7 D Cooper
8 P Gasgcoine
9 A McCoist
10 M Hately
11 B Luadrup
IF ONLY!

04 Feb 2017 18:14:50
To make up a starting 11 from the world class players we had woukd be debated forever. personally I would have ferguson in there somewhere and big ammo possibly durrant and can't forget durie or the 1 season wonder negri lol

04 Feb 2017 19:03:23
Subs Klos Papac Ferguson Mols Jelavic

04 Feb 2017 20:23:10
Papac? Come on man. Albertz instead of Gio for me.

04 Feb 2017 17:24:37
What is all this cr@p that we can't afford to to sack the management team? Says who?

I think we would all prefer not to spend money on sacking anybody but that's impossible now for me!

Unfortunately brothers and sisters we are in a bad place. If we take on a new management just look at what they have to work with:

One of the worst teams in our history.

Finishing second with Warburton is not something to be happy with. We are accepting mediocrity, that can not happen.

04 Feb 2017 18:19:50
That's if we get 2nd.

04 Feb 2017 19:01:09
I honestly don't think the players are that bad! Every player can have a few bad games I firmly believe the formation and the coaching is the problem. The favouritism shown towards players that under perform every week is shocking! The lack of giving some younger guys a chance is also worrying. We have 3 or 4 young guys on the fringes that are getting overlooked for the same dross every week.
Kiernan, Tav and Halliday should have been dropped weeks ago and replaced with young fresh energetic legs.

We don't score goals and we're not solid at the back. It's a lottery which Rangers are going to turn up and in my opinion that comes from the management team not being assertive enough. Wether that come from lack of scouting opposition or stubbornness to change I don't know but thinks need to change.

I'm getting fed up spending my Saturdays watching junk. I'd be better going to watch a junior team, at least they battle for each other

Mr King has some pressing decisions to make otherwise Ibrox will get more empty by the week

04 Feb 2017 18:15:03
As per the latest accounts we will need more soft loans in march. This assumed January sales and did not anticipate having to pay off Barton. Pretty clear we cannot afford to pay off MW.

04 Feb 2017 17:20:40
Was there any positives from the game today? How did senderos and hill do together?

04 Feb 2017 17:59:05
Yes one huge one the hard man the badge kisser Mr one of us was dropped long may that continue.
Seriously though unless change were doomed to 3edit even 4 th

04 Feb 2017 18:30:18
Some miscommunication but they weren't to bad Djab.

04 Feb 2017 18:37:51
Thanks rafbob! I think senderos at least deserves a run of 5-6 games. It's hard going at the moment but we will be back rafbob and when we do, it will be special!

04 Feb 2017 18:56:15
Looking forward to those days. 👍

04 Feb 2017 17:11:13
For those of you clinging to second place

Aberdeen have overtaken plus they still gave game in hand.

Think management will be satisfied with "top 6 finish" given we have just come up!

04 Feb 2017 19:44:38
Ranger

I would also throw into that they have already had their 3rd beating in the league from Celtic. We still have that to come

04 Feb 2017 17:40:08
am as angry as the next ger the day.

ones thigns for sure we are not getting the most out that lot

like the rest a yees a duno for sure our fincanes but ano we don't have bags a cash to pay off two hefty contracts

we are in a bad place ye might think? well look where we wur five year ago.

ill take third if that gets us a euro qualifier spot?

lets get behind the team, they may not be much but they are ours.

04 Feb 2017 22:52:26
Wed get embarrassed in Europe wouldn't make it past one qualifying round

04 Feb 2017 23:18:33
no idea why people disagree with ma comments its all truth.

Europe is a strange place can be potluck look at the teams that put us out

04 Feb 2017 17:35:30
I still like Warburton and really want to see him turn this around but I thrill the fact that he didn't address our stinking defence will possibly end up costing him his job

I'm really not sure who the best man is to come in
It's a sad fact that not many teams fear coming to play us anymore
Opponents can plan for weeks in advance if they want as they know how we are going to play
He says plan B is to play Plan A better - The problem is we don't have the players to play plan A

Very very frustrating.

04 Feb 2017 18:21:17
Fraser 52: I think the problem is he didn't address the centre forward position.

04 Feb 2017 18:48:02
Can't really disagree with you Joscro when it comes to our CF position
I really thought Garner was going to be a great signing but he's just not doing it
I wonder if we might get more out of him in a different system

04 Feb 2017 19:48:09
Dodoo not on at all today, I would have thought at Ibrox against this team his running power and trickery would have caused problems, don't get Warbs sometimes.

04 Feb 2017 17:00:51
Shocking again. warburton out now Walter in till end of season to secure 2nd. Tommy Wright as next manager.

04 Feb 2017 17:05:50
Leave walter alone, he's done enough for us

04 Feb 2017 17:15:55
Walter until the end of the season makes some sense so long as we don't let him choose his replacement. A lot of our current problems stem from McCoist and McDowall!

Whoever comes in as our next permanent manager needs to be given funds to invest in the team and we need to get the appointment correct. Just look at the transformation in Celtic with basically the same players but with a good quality manager.

04 Feb 2017 18:21:25
i think its time to show everyone that we are still one the biggest and best clubs in britain and push the boat out for a top appointment someone that makes scottish football sit up and take notice someone that is going to make celtic think there is a real threat across the city, when celtic brought in rogers it gave them a real shot in the arm, boosted season ticket sales etc we need someone in that will have same effect. i'd go for Alan Pardew

04 Feb 2017 18:04:18
Walter won't touch it with yours. No money No walter.

04 Feb 2017 18:05:11
We can't keep turning to Walter, has the sheep still got a game in hand?
That's hearts catching up also.

04 Feb 2017 18:22:07
Think we need to aim bit higher than tommy wright no disrespect to him

04 Feb 2017 19:01:14
Alan Pardew is going to make Scotland sit up and take notice. omg that's absolutely hilarious

04 Feb 2017 16:59:26
We were fighting for 2nd spot in the Premiership, we'd be lucky to get 3rd spot. Being brutally honest, we don't deserve 2nd place playing as we do under MARK WARBURTON. Hearts may well achieve 3rd place. Can't see Warburton as manager next season.

04 Feb 2017 17:08:22
this season looks like that championship season 3rd to hearts and hibs, downward spiral

04 Feb 2017 18:13:53
If he had any integrity as a man he would walk away now.

04 Feb 2017 16:58:16
Better opposition than county and we'd be saying the same as Wednesday.

The lads put a wee bit of effort in but we just don't have it where it matters.

County keeper, Fox was outstanding the three times we managed to test him, our defending was suspect once again and WTF was foderingham doing when playing the ball out?

04 Feb 2017 16:57:57
Totally toothless in attack, £1.8million spent on a donkey whilst our centre halves have a combined age of about 70. Poor result again and if Morton win next week (which isn't as unlikely as it should be), then Warburton must fall on his sword.

04 Feb 2017 17:00:49
Garner is a 4-4-2 striker, he can't play this way, it was ridiculous to try an change him into something he naturally is not

04 Feb 2017 17:42:25
Bang on gram! Garner needs a nippy player playing off him! Too many square peg round holes right through team

04 Feb 2017 17:02:39
He shouldn't he given the chance to be our manager next week. Taxi for Mr W tonight and start rebuilding for next season now. Utter shambles.

04 Feb 2017 17:09:26
£1.8million should buy a striker capable of scoring sitters against bottom six teams no matter what system he plays.

04 Feb 2017 17:15:02
Well he must be a bit of a waste of money then isn't he! He has more yellow cards than goals lol too funny!

04 Feb 2017 18:06:41
Spot on gram he's never played up top himself

04 Feb 2017 18:15:01
4-4-2 striker? He's no kind of striker.

04 Feb 2017 18:24:36
This is why preston sold him they changed to 1 up front and he is not suitable for that role he needs a partner certainly not worth what we paid for him tho could have got better value elsewhere

04 Feb 2017 16:57:29
3rd attempt to beat RC fails

We are just a team of losers and management will be happy we weren't beaten

Sorry - time up - Board must act now to stop this rot

We have gone backwards from last year some supporters can't see it and god help us if the board can't either!

04 Feb 2017 17:06:23
at least senderos looked somewhat solid today, but I'm tired of this myself. Same every game and has been for a long time now. Teams come to Ibrox and confidently pass the ball about and easily make chances while we show no confidence, urgency or ability to penetrate

04 Feb 2017 16:57:09
We're more likely to finish 4th than 2nd. Are the resident MW fanboys happy with this?

04 Feb 2017 16:52:21
Warburton out

Time for Dave King to step up

04 Feb 2017 17:16:01
You'll be waiting a while mucker!
King is a joke!

04 Feb 2017 18:41:54
I think Dave king just playing us . he should sell the club.

04 Feb 2017 16:31:45
At last our captain claims an equaliser!

04 Feb 2017 16:47:57
Scores and equaliser surely?

04 Feb 2017 15:59:59
Time for wee Billy Davies - a wee nippy sweetie but a gers man and that's what's nedded

04 Feb 2017 16:32:50
The misspelling was appropriate, maybe he will bring his pal Tommy with him! We cannot afford to make the wrong appointment again and whoever comes in needs to come with actual investment not King's version of Murray moonbeams!

04 Feb 2017 16:40:37
Nedded? Was that a Freudian slip.

04 Feb 2017 16:41:32
Don't think so

04 Feb 2017 16:52:14
Please Stop this "rangers man" garbage. He's not a winner never has been.

04 Feb 2017 15:01:05
Happy to see senderos starting along side hill I think if he gets a run in the team he will be a good player for us. Kiernen has been terrible glad to see him out as he finally be droped or is he just banned for today?

04 Feb 2017 16:03:54
Let's see if Senderos plays any better than Keirnan before offering him a run in the team

04 Feb 2017 18:16:16
He did. But that's not a difficult target.

04 feb 2017 13:44:16
i keep reading that rangers want to close the gap with celtic? do our fans not realise the absolute best we can hope for is to reduce the gap by 6 points if we beat them in both remaining games?

the rest of the gap is not in our hands, the rest of the league needs to start taking points off them too. we might be 25 points behind them but sadly this is not all our fault, they have only dropped 2 points, one draw, that's all so its not exactly rocket science to see.

yes we have dropped a lot of points to other clubs, but where we are at present the season is dead, all we can try to do is stay with aberdeen and try to pip them to 2nd place. next season is a different level of problems.

04 Feb 2017 15:27:56
Wee Bill honestly mate stop making excuses, it's not all our fault? You seriously trying to blame other teams for our dismal performances? The truth is we shouldn't be in a fight for second place! Warbs has hade plenty of money. The guys signed 15 players and were talking 2 have maybe worked out. Its absolutely shocking!

04 Feb 2017 15:39:12
It's 100% our fault! We have dropped 6 points against Celtic, the rest we've dropped have been against the other dross in the league, so if this Rangers team had done what they should the gap would be 4 points

04 Feb 2017 17:00:42
Thats some proper left field thinking that.

04 Feb 2017 14:13:34
Was just watching replays and must say what a player sone aluko was for the teddy bears.

04 Feb 2017 14:24:05
Garner and Senderos in

04 Feb 2017 14:41:48
Halliday sub, Holt in, Kiernan out of squad.

04 Feb 2017 15:22:37
Halliday should have been with Kiernan in the strnd, he is a liability on the park and it would be a massive bonus to the opposition if he were to come on as a sub!

04 Feb 2017 15:28:19
Why is Halliday on the bench?

04 Feb 2017 16:06:13
Cos he's p1sh tom

04 Feb 2017 14:15:16
Didn't think anything could get me excited for this game after last week. But seeing changes like this has! No kiernan, Halliday on the bench. Should have happened a long time ago but finally some common sense.

04 Feb 2017 14:19:33
Kiernan should never wear a Rangers jersey again

04 Feb 2017 14:22:28
What's the bet Halliday comes on the hour mark?

04 Feb 2017 14:23:11
Still with tavernier. Unbelievable.

04 Feb 2017 14:25:29
Halliday is the golden child, but if he comes on at the 60 minute mark it means we will at least have 11 decent players on the park for an hour 😂

04 Feb 2017 14:35:14
Is Windass injured or has he been sacrificed to make room on the bench for Halliday? What does Hodson need to do to get a game? Wouldn't Wilson be a better option than Senderdross? Why is Holt playing? Is it true that Rossiter is now just 7-10 days away? When will he get Burt involved? Will Dodoo ever start? Just saw the team and these wee things popped into my mind.

04 Feb 2017 15:24:13
Halliday should have been in the stand and Windass should at the very least have been on the bench. Halliday brings nothing to the team whereas Windass can make a difference.

04 Feb 2017 14:13:42
Are the rumours true about new manager next season?

Only reasonable explanation for such negative comments (years before we catch Celtic etc) from manager.

St Johnstone manager Wright or Davies?

Expensive ex superstar will not cut it - too much hard work?

04 Feb 2017 14:36:17
If the two you suggest were ever serious candidates for the job I'd back Warburton.

04 Feb 2017
The real time live chat page is open for today's Rangers match at the below link for you to talk to each other during the match
Rangers Live Chat page

04 Feb 2017 13:22:45
Getting second was all we could have reasonably expected, whether it was 1pt or 10 ahead of Aberdeen, just get second, it's a ridiculous amount behind Celtic but they have been a long long way ahead of second place teams the past 4 years and it seems how single fish the league is.

04 Feb 2017 14:04:50
Ha ha. It's always single fish when it's not your team winning it. Hope that makes you feel better, I bet you never thought it was single fish when rangers were out spending everyone. I feel your pain😅😅

04 Feb 2017 14:11:10
Well lads who we going to blame if it goes boobies up today. No halliday, kiernan or waggy

04 Feb 2017 14:52:24
The man who coaches, lays down tactics, motivates and picks the team. It's not the fault of the players who are obviously not up to standard but are thrown together every week on the park.

04 Feb 2017 17:09:16
The entire league is awful regardless of who is winning or not! You can kid yourself on if you like! This Rangers team are absolutely pathetic

04 Feb 2017 13:11:12
Our next manager doesn't need to be some global superstar. All we need is a manager who'll look at our squad, recognise our strengths and weaknesses and set up the team to play to our strengths. Something MW appears too stubborn to do.

04 Feb 2017 13:53:46
Sorry can't agree, won't agree, it's time to stop scraping the bottom of the barrel, all that gets you is sludge, muck and cr@p!

04 Feb 2017 11:52:12
Any thoughts on the starting 11 bears? Wilson in for Kiernan, Hodson in for Tav, Windass in for Halliday!

04 Feb 2017 12:24:30
In saying that, knowing Warbs the three of them will probably start!

04 Feb 2017 12:51:29
I would change the formation and everything. Something more than the players needs to change

04 Feb 2017 13:55:39
Drop Tav, Halliday and Kiernan, replace them with anybody else. Put Wilson in as holding midfielder.

04 Feb 2017 14:08:08
Halliday on the bench and Kiernan dropped, thank the Lord. Interesting to see how senderos takes his chance.

04 Feb 2017 13:47:16
Warbs has already said he won't make major changes for today.
This is for TOM, USA, why did you say you don't want billy Davies at ibrox because of the friends he has?
Could you enlighten me Tom.

04 Feb 2017 10:25:22
Come-on all those so called Rangers fans, let's just remember which team got promotion from the championship last year, Did you really think we were going to win the SPL in our first year back at the top.

04 Feb 2017 10:37:19
Just remember Warburton has had the 2nd biggest budget in Scotland for the last 2 seasons. He has 4 times that of Aberdeen and Hearts and if you look at what Celtic have actually spent this year it isn't that much bigger certainly not 4 times bigger. Just remember he continually picks Kiernan, Tavernier and Halliday when they are clearly not good enough. Just remember we have only scored 31 goals while teams like Kilmarnock can pick a guy up for free then sell him for £800k. Just remember have a manager who thinks it's more important to please the Bournemouth manager than it is to please the supports of the club and just remember Warburton will never win the league

04 Feb 2017 10:43:53
Yes people did believe you would win the league. Warburton at start of season saying this club don't talk about 2nd. He totally underestimated the premiership.

04 Feb 2017 10:52:16
I think we all knew deep down we would struggle this season. We'll be stronger next season, back in Europe and putting up a better challenge. So let's back the manager and the team an make sure we get second place. I will be there today cheering on whoever wares the blue jersey.

04 Feb 2017 11:42:05
KPBLUE, you need to remember if we qualify for european football there are 4 qualifying rounds to get the league stages. Do you honestly believe we can get past the qualifying rounds with the squad we have at Ibrox.

04 Feb 2017 12:13:45
Scotman, as I said in my post we'll strengthen in the summer window

04 Feb 2017 13:28:04
Looking at the squad Lance, at the start of the season it seemed plausible. Nobody knew how badly things would go wrong with Barton and Niko let alone other injuries like Rossiter, Crooks, Windass. Or how dramatically Celtic would improve compared to last year. Hindsight is a great thing.

04 Feb 2017 12:53:26
Were not so called fans bigb we've kept this club afloat last few years and we deserve better! None of them know what it means to wear that jersey there's no pride they should be running through brick walls for this club regardless of ability they should at least try! Too many just accept second best.

04 Feb 2017 09:20:54
If I were king I'd be taking my ass up to Perth to tie down wright as next manager he's as good as we can get in the hear and now the other names being banded about we've no chance but this man knows how to put a team together on a tight budget.

04 Feb 2017 08:43:07
Whoever the new manager is he must

1) know who Glasgow Rangers are (unlike current management team who are accepting of current performances if not Wednesday's)

2) stop Celtic ten in a row

3) Fire in his belly

We have turn clock back and get a manager in the "mould" of Jock Wallace who stopped Celtic in the Seventies for us.

Is there anyone out there other than Billy Davies?

04 Feb 2017 09:34:28
Billy Davies would be a far better manager than Warburton. He has played for the club and manager at a higher level than Warburton. He also would never have insulted the Rangers fans by saying he took of Hyndman in the interests of his parent club. This team are a joke and the manager is a clown.

04 Feb 2017 12:52:41
The only clown is you stewie. How could you possible think the gambling addict Davies is a proper fit for rangers the guy is a total knob and won nothing in management except several pay outs due to being sacked.

04 Feb 2017 12:30:15
Billy Davies absolutely not the answer. At some point I would like to see Barry Ferguson as manager although maybe need support of a Director of football if given the job too early .
Winning anyway we can and being hard to beat / breakdown has to come before slick football. Strong fit players who can play their position, show honest passion and a winning mentality will get results. Even the other mob set up like that during O'Neil era . We will get there as a Club, we have gone through too much over recent years to accept mediocre. We deserve more and if doesn't work -change it till it does!

04 Feb 2017 12:51:26
Would you take Souness?

04 Feb 2017 14:56:55
Davies will never, and should never, be Rangers manager. Check him out, he has severe personal problems, has no integrity whatsoever and would be the biggest mistake we ever made. I'd certainly keep Warburton if it was a choice between the two, but there are many more suitable candidates out there.

04 Feb 2017 08:25:39
Let's hope the board know what they are doing - "new manager" next season etc

Might not like CS writing in the DR but anyone of us could have written it.

Taking off "best player" on Wednesday night with explaination that he was "more" concerned about parent club than Glasgow Rangers and their result on Wednesday!

Are Rangers now just a development club for the mighty Bourmouth under Warburton?

If so good luck with the season ticket sales for next session .

Club must be seen to be going forward not backwards - Warburton'a statements are unhelpful with ongoing irritate performances and team selections.

04 Feb 2017 09:25:35
why does anyone listen to or read what that bampot says, all he has always been is a rangers hater

04 Feb 2017 09:27:13
oh and forgot to add the daily records lapdog

04 Feb 2017 07:06:48
Why not play the lad bates in beside hill? Will give him valuable experience. I mean he is 20 yr old, not a wee boy anymore and if we signed him we must think he's good enough? Surely we don't throw him in the reserves for years and forget all about him? He can't be any worse than big kiernan. Same applies to dodoo. Play him in front of waghorn. Watching waghorn on the right wing is a defenders dream. You know he's cutting it onto his left peg 99 per cent of the time and when he goes on the outside he doesn't have the pace to go by the defender. He's not good enough.

Hill is absolutely crap do people not watch him? Too busy blaming kiernan? Him and kiernan should both never play again absolutely woeful.

04 Feb 2017 09:29:19
are you sure hills been one of our most reliable players this season after a slow start

04 Feb 2017 12:53:59
He had one or two descent games. He's the main problem at the back kiernan has to constantly watch out for balls over as hill can't catch the cold.

04 Feb 2017 12:37:03
agreed djab must be time to give the lad bates a run over kiernan we wldnt have signed him if he didn't have something and at 20 he's not exactly a young pup since the lad oxford was 18 and everyone was shouting for him to be signed

my only fear is warbs won't drop kiernan or halliday or tav which ironically contradicts what he says almost every week. we must learn

same players same mistakes same tactics and formations so same results - are we really learning?

the definition of madness is diingbthe same thing over and over yet expecting different results

this couldn't be more apt for our manager i'm
afraid bears

Just got magic odds on 10 in a row. Hopefully retiring in a few years. Nevermind sure the warchest will rumble in the summer.

04 Feb 2017 09:31:04
what 2-1 or 3-1 max at those odds you must be minted

Bring forth the guillotine.

Agbroxi- since wilsons return I haven't seen one of his big cross field passes find the target. Guy is hopeless. Along with the rest of our defenders.

Kenny Miller the only player who is worthy of his spot. And young McKay has come on leaps n bounds this season. Pity we will sell him for 3M in the summer because the club is skint. Oh well

04 Feb 2017 08:46:10
Kenny miller is certainly not worthy of his spot. A striker who's only movement is backwards into midfield, he makes no forward runs and misses so many chances from bloody 6 yards. Against motherwell the ball went through his legs TWICE from 6 yards.

Cee

He is the best we have. Waghorn is a cart horse and Garner can't score. God knows what Dodoo makes of it all we have only scored 31 goals in 23 games yet he still can't get a game

04 Feb 2017 13:04:25
Cee, Kenny miller up 'till now is by far been the best rangers player! He's certainly my player of the year thus far!

04 Feb 2017 13:20:07
There is no striker at rangers worthy of staying there into February and I don't even think one of them have got into double figures yet . for rangers that is not good enough!

04 Feb 2017 13:04:02
cee, kenny miller has been our best player all year, god knows where we would be without his goals, I don't understand how you can slate the one guy who gives his all every time he wears a Rangers jersey.
