Right lads from big wull and recbob to Billy b and to me we are all gers men with different opinions

My question is how much money do you think MW will get to spend

I will go 1st
Less than a million, but the warbs will bring in some talent on buttons in my opinion.

04 Apr 2016 21:13:04
Mullard

You can only go so far spending that little amount and even in the spfl that's not enough to challenge for the title. You can bet Delia will get a bit to spend and even bad managers can do well with a bigger budget.

04 Apr 2016 21:35:23
I would love it if we could spend millions but if mw can get us a few players that you know and trust he can spot (unlike his predecessors) then we will win the league next year and the way he has us playing will fill the stadium then if there was money to spend I would put fill in the corners if we can get 60/ 70 thousand capacity this would generate much more cash that would come in for years to come and let us buy better players in the future. Plus the gaffer will bring on young players which will save and generate cash for the future, so I don't think we should be concerned about how much we have to spend as long as we have enough to keep mw on board and happy this guy knows about players that if most of us are honest we have never heard of. As long as the gaffer stays we have nothing to worry about.

04 Apr 2016 22:11:52
I would hope a few million like 2 or 3 although I won't hold my breath for that amount. A just think that the more we spend under MW the better as I'm sure he will add value to whatever he brings in .
If he gets less I'm still sure he will wheel and deal his way through the market anyway to mount a challenge next year.
Either way I'm happy to be talking about how we will look in the SPFL next year, as long as we're up there this time next year challenging I will be happy. The year after I expect the title for sure. My money will still be going on us next year regardless, that's for sure.

04 Apr 2016 22:20:08
We need to live within are means. The days off big transfer fees and wages are finished. There's bargains and free transfers out there that could improve us. We got waghorn, tavernier. kiernan for well under a million so I trust mw transfers policy. We would all love to spend 5 or 6 million on the squad but that's not going to happen and from where we've been to in the last 4 years I accept that.

05 Apr 2016 01:55:25
I Honestly think MW will get £10mil to spend in summer lads, wether he needs to spend it all is a different story, but i truly think that will be the sort of figure Dave King will give him to spend, only my opinion remember.

05 Apr 2016 06:17:39
I think he will get 2mill but will end up getting a couple of lower league gems and perhaps investing the greater sum of this money on Loans players who are on higher wages. Warbs isn't the type of manager to go out and blew huge sums of money, that is why he brought in Frank, to hunt out gems and make a profit.

05 Apr 2016 07:48:20
Mullad, I reckon £1.5-2.0million, unless we win the Scottish Cup, then possibly £3million, but who knows with dk.

05 Apr 2016 08:10:19
As has been said before, If We can sign players who will add value to the squad and we could get a sell on fee for the player then the money will be available to sign them.

05 Apr 2016 08:21:10
We should remember that despite apparently having money Celtic are nothing special. With the money they could spend they should be 20 points clear of anybody else but they are not. Celtic have hidden debt so they can't go out and spend £10 or £20 million in the summer either. Warburton seems to have the talent to bring in players for next to nothing and also spot our youngsters to give them a chance. Hardie, Walsh and Murdoch might well come back into the fold next season. If Warburton can bring on our players and sell the odd player after 2 or 3 years for a big profit then that will keep us in good financial health. The days of Torre Andre Flo, De Boer are over!

04 Apr 2016 22:02:39
I would hazard a guess that warbs will get in the region of between £1million/ £2million to spend on players to enhance our squad for going up to the scottish premiership, the magic hat will be able to pick up some good players for that sort of money, he has an eye for a player and its not the amount we spend that matters its the gems and value for money he signs for rangers that counts more than anything else, I honestly firmly believe that you don't need to have or spend a big budget on players especially in scotland as long as your manager knows what he's doing, we'll also sign some loan players from the likes of liverpool, arsenal, spurs, man city etc, we've got a terrific chief scout in frank mcparland.

04 Apr 2016 22:31:32
the manager will be given the funds for the players he wants to sign and don't forget some of the players who will leave were on good wages i think mullad the big question will be who is leaving but what i do know there will be no ancient relics from south of the border the one thing the board will insist on the players signed must have a resale value which is the way to fly.

04 Apr 2016 22:34:36
mullad i forgot the figure £2m.

04 Apr 2016 23:36:31
Moonbeams and dreamers. Hooly is a realist. Upgrading stadium too 70,000? There's no money to fix the multiple repairs. £30 million said DK is that over 10-15 years? Still no credit line from Any Bank and still a going concern. Reality will be a cold slap in the face . MW is being Very " Disrespectful"to Aberdeen, Hearst's, Ross County, Inverness etc.

05 Apr 2016 09:24:04
I don't think we will spend over 1m and will get 3 players or so for that. I personally would love to see a marquee signing to show that we mean business. Even then i think it would be a free transfer with a big wage.

05 Apr 2016 10:09:27
I think MW will see whom he can get on loan first
then there will be players leaving end of contract so
no fees involved
I would like to think they have a list of players
they would like to sign already and a list of players we will send out on loan again
I doubt if there is even 1 mill in the kitty to buy players.

05 Apr 2016 12:19:52
I would think around half a million will actually be spent over the summer. Remember we are paying for O'Halloran in three stages with I believe a number of clauses in his contract too to reach the price quoted in the papers, hence my low figure.

Does anybody know what kind of bonus the management team are on for winning the Championship btw?

05 Apr 2016 13:21:26
I don't think it's a question of how much we have to spend 2 buy players, more a question of what the budget for wages is going 2 be. That will play a huge role in determining what we have to spend. It will also play the biggest part in who will come with regards 2 an experienced player or 2.

05 Apr 2016 13:49:13
I kind of know this isn't going to be popular but. I agree with Robbie nielsons comments. We do need to spend serious money to close the gap on Celtic. Don't think we will though, and in my opinion expecting us to challenge for title next season without investment is not realistic.

There is a gulf in standard between the spl and championship and I fear that many of our players who have looked decent this year might hit a wall when they come up against better opposition week in week out.

At some point we need to sign players of a higher calibre and they are going to cost money- DK promised investment and hasn't delivered. Relying on the manager to find barging after bargain is never going to work. He himself needs to show that his player recruitment can evolve- and that his tactics can evolve at a higher level, if not next season could be painful.

05 Apr 2016 14:22:37
I've been saying close to £5m all season, sticking with it.

05 Apr 2016 14:57:54
Luigi I can see your point but I think the majority of our team has played at SPFL level, and the ones who haven't like McKay and that have served their time and are ready for the next step up. The difference between us and Hearts is they're not expected to win every week and are not playing to a packed Ibrox every second week, that brings a lot of pressure and our boys have handled it well.
I think when MW replaces the last of the players from the previous regime with his own we will be in good shape regardless of budget. He's probablly reluctantly used most of them bar Miller this year. Once it's his own team with all the players he wants I think we'll be challenging.
We will have the best management and fans in the league and I'm sure the team will Follow, if you excuse the pun.

05 Apr 2016 00:35:39
I am of the opinion that a good few million will be spent at least - the hard part has been achieved over 4 years and with varying teams who were basically acquired to do a job and get promotion from each division - I think you can even say the same applies to this seasons team - how many players will be kept for next season? Management won't just be satisfied that a return to the SPL has been achieved so I would predict an immediate title on our return would be the goal - why wait a few season to "settle in " when we have waited so long to get back - based on this assumption I would not be surprised to see some decent money being splashed out on players which would, via European football, provide a quick return - its good to be back but were not there just to make up the numbers - its title 56 were after so cash will be spent - if most people are suggesting that we need several players for key positions then they ain't going to come cheap - the futures bright - the future is red, blue and white :)

05 Apr 2016 13:12:07
We will soon find out, if DK has promised WW cash then he will have to do that, or warbs will walk, and someone said money wasn't everything in Scottish football? Well its 95% of it, Souness, oniell, Walter, Dick, Delia, there's a common denominator there, cash. O'niel knew if he spent millions on big, hard physical players, with a couple of flair players he couldn't lose in Scotland, neither coup Souy, Dick spent a fortune, as did Walter, King knows no good manager will stay with no cash to buy nowadays.

05 Apr 2016 12:44:22
I also think hooly is spot on as we can't and won't go back to the days of spending big amounts of money that some folk on here seem to think will happen, we've learned a very painful lesson over the last 4 years to not spend large amounts of money we don't have, live within our means and do the correct thing which I'm sure warbs will do anyway and spend realistic sums of money on our youth academy which is without doubt the way to go, a good manager like 'the magic hat' doesn't need to spend big money especially in scotland to be top dogs in scotland again, where we belong!

04 Apr 2016 17:29:17
Hi fellow bears can anyone help I am urgently needing a cup semi ticket honestly didn't realise how much I want to see the mighty Rangers smash the nasty mobb.

04 Apr 2016 18:38:25
Southsider ha hahahaha, its that comment of yours a joke, or a noise up mate, i think youve got more chance of hitting the sun with a snowball mate lol.

04 Apr 2016 18:52:54
Hey southsider wonder if u can help me out I looking for a ticket for the FINAL mate lol.

04 Apr 2016 19:05:14
We're crying in the same pint mate, my other mate who got one got offered 1500 notes for his, no way he was giving it up. its the relative comfort of the pub for me.

04 Apr 2016 19:19:16
Shy weans get no sweets a think the saying goes! i reckon u will need to find yourself a good seat in the pub mate it's a tough life.

04 Apr 2016 19:28:13
Bigjoh85: I don't know, I once hit the Sun with a snowball. all over page 3!

04 Apr 2016 20:01:53
Try the hospitality options it might not be full yet.

04 Apr 2016 18:34:21
Do you honestly believe anybody is going to give you a semi final ticket buy a season ticket sign up for cccs scheme then you will start getting tickets for big games.

05 Apr 2016 10:04:52
I already got a season ticket also was unsuccessful in the ballot so I have been to every game this season so I am gutted a never got one but trying all different ways to get one.

05 Apr 2016 12:19:56
It's a shame if you've been to every game this year south side but every man and his dug wants a ticket to that game.

05 Apr 2016 13:17:24
Having bought a ticket in Manchester for £550, I can honestly say I would bite the hand off anyone offering me £1500 for my ticket, , get myself a nice cupple of boxes of tennents, sit in front of my 60 inch HD telly, and book a week in Croatia, and I'll bet 99% of fans would, unless they are well off already.

04 Apr 2016 17:21:00
Hi fellow bears my dad is coming up from blackpool this weekend and was looking to go 2 the game but he can't go as he needs 5 tickets and when he phones up they tell him he can only 1 each as 3 of them are kids he can't get. what else can he try?

05 Apr 2016 13:19:36
Offering somebody £1500 for their ticket
Tommy.

04 Apr 2016 16:54:31
How many Gers players are out of contract in the summer and what wages are they on? Squad is lean and I think that's a factor in our current performances ie getting tired towards the end of a game. Adrenaline will hopefully help the players over the next few games to make it a memorable season in our history.

04 Apr 2016 17:25:25
Templeton and shields must be on a few quid. There both out of contract I think along with Bell.

04 Apr 2016 18:50:49
All the players that we had playing against raith just there, well there is only 10 players with contracts lasting longer than this summer, the whole bench we had is either out of contract or a few loan players.

04 Apr 2016 20:44:56
Templeton, Law, Shiels, Clarke and Crawford all out of contract in summer.

04 Apr 2016 16:22:43
I see mw stating today that a holding midfielder is a priority in the summer does that mean he sees matt crooks as a centre back.

04 Apr 2016 16:39:35
Mentioned he has 3 CB this season. Wants 4 next season.

Think Crooks will be a utility player.

04 Apr 2016 11:45:30
Forrester 3 year deal now.

Passion determination, run through a brick wall, fire in the belly, point to prove, the boy on a mission, looks like he was born a blue nose the way he been recently, looks like he taken our club to his heart.

Bit of TLC from a manager and a run in the team amazing what it can do for a player. MW sure knows a player when he sees 1.

Waggy injury has been the making of Forrester, the Silver Lining lol!

Top 3 against Selik

McKay Miller Forrester

Next year

McKay Waggy O'Hal

Forrester Waggy O'Hal

McKay O'Hal Forrester

And will have miller still and I think the manager will sign a good out and out striker as well.

Looking good up top, need to sort out defence pronto thou, that must be priority next year CB and cover for RB and LB and Holding CM!

Thoughts?

04 Apr 2016 12:05:22
All football minded people always say you defend as a team and not just your two centre backs.

04 Apr 2016 12:26:48
We will sign a number 9 in the summer, who that will be, god knows. Heard a few names, bradshaw, grigg being thrown about. The boy grigg at wigan is on fire. Would do nicely if you ask me, also I think he's a northern irish lad so maybe a fan. Who knows. Two cb's a must. Yes big p you do defend as a team but when your two cb's couldn't tackle a fish supper, sort of defeats the purpose.

04 Apr 2016 13:04:09
The spine of the team is important and for me what is missing is a quality centre back, someone in the Davie Weir, Terry Butcher, Richard Gough, Lorenzo Amorusso mould would be perfect.

04 Apr 2016 14:00:30
Sorry don't agree about giving Forrester a 3yr deal because he could basically down tools once he has the security of 3 years wages I agree that it should be short term contracts max 2 years which would also allow us to get rid of underperformers sooner without having to wait 3 years or pay them off and it'll also push players to perform at their best at least every 2nd year to try and win a new deal the drawback is that we could lose good players for nothing after 2 years.

04 Apr 2016 14:42:46
Zeus Its a double edge sword, a get the point that you are making, and it is a fair point.

A just think that Forrester is going to be the real deal, his touch, his work rate his attitude, his desire. A think that after all the Crap he been through with previous teams that if we show faith in him with a secure contract we will reap the rewards. He looks like he loving life at rangers and fitting in with the squad and a think will just go from strength to strength, think we got a real player on our hands here, a think that he worth taking a punt on.

04 Apr 2016 14:47:56
Coldo, your spot on with the CB sir, could not have put it better myself. I think that a bit of experience in CB and DM needed, sign to older heads maby 28-30 and it will do out team the world of good. Kenny Miller is doing his part up top and all the young boys a mentioned in initial point will be reaping the rewards working with him, if you look at all the forward players work rates, I think Kenny Miller has a lot to do with it.

What do you think about Forrester Coldo u think he worth a decent contract? A think that he going to be a big player for us going forward, he looking like a right good Rangers Man/ Player!

04 Apr 2016 14:50:06
Big P

Yes defend as a team that is correct, but your 2 CB job is defend and keep defence as a unit organised, and a just feel that they have let us down recently with that.

But you are correct, it can't just fall at their feet, everyone got to pitch in,

Think it just shows that we need some experience at CB and DM.

04 Apr 2016 11:40:55
Does anybody know if the final on Sunday is on TV joke if not as there's money to be made for theses broadcasters.

04 Apr 2016 11:45:29
Bbc alba.

04 Apr 2016 14:36:11
Heedrum hodrum. Aggus Rangers!

04 Apr 2016 13:56:59
Gootball on BBC alba.

{Ed033's Note - Gootball? Urban dictionary for the word, 'Goot'

goo.gl/DpMYYZ

04 Apr 2016 17:27:04
Haha. Dyslexic finger.

04 Apr 2016 10:36:39
Hi fellow bears! I'm the new guy!

9 goals conceded in three games is not good enough we need two new CB's in my opinion. I know we've been good so far but when we get punished so late in games we need experienced defenders who know when to sit in and hold on to the lead instead of committing to attacks (not that it is a bad thing) but we need to be smarter.

04 Apr 2016 11:26:00
Yeh think it fairly evident that the 2 CB will not cut it in Premiership!

Starting to worry a wee bit for Selik Game, a think that Ball should be playing in place of 1 of them with Halliday sitting has holding player in midfield.

Don't understand why Ball not been put in to give one of the 2 a kick up the back side as they clearly need it!

04 Apr 2016 12:40:15
Wilson must be dropped. Said months ago he was a cocky liability and all I got was he'll come good. He's awful and big kiernan isn't much better but we can't drop them both. Said for months the celtic game wouldn't be easy. God after the dundee game most fans had us "teaching celtic a footballing lesson" and I even heard comparisons to barcelona. We need to sort the defending before we get gubbed from them. We can get away with it in the championship, well that's about it. I said yesterday that if we were playing your inverness's or your st johnstone's every week and we were defending like that we would lose most games. Fingers need to come out next season or much better has to be bought.

04 Apr 2016 12:59:31
Its a team game sergio Ramos would look poor at the back with fullbacks like Wallace and tav who don't even attempt to stop crosses.

04 Apr 2016 13:15:07
So its tav and wallace who are at fault and not our cb's? Never looked at it that way, yeah I think you might be onto to something there 😩.

04 Apr 2016 13:52:15
I always look upwards, Yeah the goals conceeded is a bit of a concern, The lads have done the hard work untill last 3 games where we are stuttering to cross the line, We will win the League tomorow, I just hope we work on the defence leading up to the dhims game, I am sure we can score vs them.

04 Apr 2016 14:56:19
Coldo am with you a think the CB need sorted out quick smart.

A would put in Ball with Kiernan against Selik

Think the way we have been playing wee need more defence players against them.

Due to last 3 games a would start team against Selik:-

Fod

Tav, Ball, Kiernan, Wallace

Halliday Law

Holt

Forrester Miller McKay

Then we can change it up after half time, just need to make sure we don't lose early sloppy goals!

Thoughts?

04 Apr 2016 08:37:50
No need to panic league will be won on tuesday we are almost back to where we belong, we are playing good football with a squad that was built in 6 weeks, if we get anything in cup game aginst the rotten mob its a bonus but promotion was our priority cup semi is a win win for rangers we are not expected to win it aslong as the players give a good account of themselves, new players will be brought in the summer for the challenge ahead . and i would like to thank the board, the gaffer, sir davie and most of all the rangers fans who together have gave us all our club back.

04 Apr 2016 09:06:44
Well said bigtrfc. I recall that Celtic only beat us 2-0 last season in the League Cup tie, that against probably the worst Rangers team ever with the worst manager ever! Let's win the league tomorrow night and I think that will get rid of any jitters. We've played well in the cup games and the 4-0 rout of Dundee was the best perfromance of the season. I can't believe we won't score at least a couple of goals against Celtic in the semi-final and I hope Warburton keeps faith with the entertaining attacking football style which we've all enjoyed. I think we'll need Ball and Laws in the starting XI against Celtic. By the time we play them we'll be champions and Challenge Cup holders!

04 Apr 2016 10:01:14
To be fair, he wasn't the manager and had the job landed on him. We were very poor last season though.

04 Apr 2016 04:43:16
Plenty of 'wannabe' Bears managers on here think they know better than the Magic Hat. In less than a season Warbs has done a terrific job sorting out some of the playing staff and style of football with the limited resources King has given him to date. Get behind the manager and give him the loyalty he deserves. Some of you sound like glory hunters and that is not the way of a traditional Bear!

04 Apr 2016 07:26:17
Solidstone, I agree up to your last sentence.
Most criticism, recently, has been about our defending. Just like our defence trying to protect a winning situation, you cannot defend it, and this is against second rate teams.
Obviously, this is a concern for our manager with important games coming up. There is no doubt if we play the way we did against Dundee, we are more than a match for every team in Scotland. However, unless we can play to that standard on the 17th., there could be trouble ahead.
Glory hunters we are not, we just like winning.

04 Apr 2016 08:52:27
Solid stone

How long have you followed football? Do you not realise all supporters from every team do that? It's people just giving their opinion and that's what the game is all about. Fans reaction good or bad makes it such a great game. Stop making sweeping statements about people just because they have a different opinion from you.

04 Apr 2016 09:27:41
It's not about loyalty to the manager or glory hunting and what's a traditional bear? Credit where credit is due and fair play to Warburton on many fronts but also criticism where criticism is due that's been a fan's way for a hundred and forty years. The last 3 games deserve a lot of criticism and most of the comments here have been constructive ones pointing out the glaring failures in strategy.

04 Apr 2016 09:30:49
We've scored 82 which is a good return but we've shipped 27 - with 2/ 3rds of them in the last 3 games. That's a problem in anyone's book but is magnified by the fact that 3 have been lost in the last minute of the last 3 games, one of them helped us to a loss, one of them took the league title from our fingertips and all have come when we've got a benchmark game against Celtic coming up.

Get over the line tomorrow and it's history.

04 Apr 2016 07:39:30
And Mr King 👑 deserves our support also, and our gratitude. Too, he hasn't only spent on wages, fees etc, but the infrastructure and running of the club, including warbs and his teams wages, mcparland costs and Murray parks upkeep,
God knows where we would be if not for Dave King 👑
Tommy.

04 Apr 2016 11:32:33
Well said TomTom, DK gets overlooked to much, his contribution to Rangers has been immense, the turn around in what 14 months has been massive.

I dread to think were we would have been, this league win on Tuesday should be dedicated to the loyal fans and also the Board and DK for turning us around or we would be staring at another year in the Championship.

Falkirk and Hibs would have been fighting it out and we would have been scrapping for the play off spot!

04 Apr 2016 06:16:01
Like you solidstone, always have been 100% behind the manager mark warburton and always will be, its remarkable the job he's done to date rebuilding our full club from the bottom all the way through to the first team on a shoestring budget may I add, he has us playing a lovely brand of attacking football which is so entertaining and pleasing to watch and he will sort our defence, some fans need to give the man some credit for god's sake, continual negative comments from some of our fans who have undoubtedly very short memories.
