So Rangers are signing Boyd , Smith , Goodwillie , Conway and Eremenko , you seem to forget Smith earns £50k a week , Boyd £25k , Goodwillie has just signed a new 3 year contract , Eremenko will be on good money at Metalist Karkiv and Conway would seek a decent pay hike , i can't see your £5m stretching quite that far , or did you forget players have to be paid ?

Possible rangers targets should be bartley really good young player. Weiss really good player still more to come from him. Goodwillie very good prospect. Conway decent player always does well against celtic. El hadj diouf so we can all do the dioufy! Cammy bell aswell good prospect. Maybe gatouso for helping out the young boys and good experience. Can any think of any other possible signings? Lets build for the future! WATP

Maybe Bosingwa and Gera who are free agents in the summer also Chris Baird could a target an some championship players such as holt, Beattie maybe spl players like buaben, gomis and eremenko

Pretty sure Cammy Bell is on a free at end of season. Good keeper who would defo be good cover for Alexander should Shagger go. We got no chance with Sinclair though, Swansea looking for big bucks. Think Goodwillie and Jelavic would be a good partnership but if not Grant Holt from Norwich would be a good punt but again poss out our price range.

Craig Beattie would be a good signing only 26/ 27 And has only really reached his peak recently he is a rangers fan but he has played for rangers then Celtic.
Scott Sinclair would be about 5mil which could be possible if Swansea aren't promoted and if we are gonna spend what is thought to be the 5mil + about 12 mil from champions league and maybe even more than 5mil from the 25mil pot if takeover is completed.

"Rangers to sign Craig Beattie from Swansea on a free

Player not in new manager Brendan Rogers's plans, and would jump at the chance, his whole family are massive prods.

This thread has come from the player himself, his agent is on it."

How tall are his family?

Ibrox named as one of the top 50 landmarks in Glasgow. Where is Parkhead? Oh, it didn't even make the list.

""Scotland On Sunday reports that the take over is full speed ahead and no gliches in the mechanism . To be concluded this week."

No it doesn't. Try reading it again, but this time without the blue tinted specs.

Eh yes it does.
"Scotland on Sunday understands that all major roadblocks have been removed leaving the way clear for Whyte to buy Sir David Murray's shares, thereby bringing an end to a drama that has been more than five months in the making."

Can't find it myself. Where is it in the paper.

It's online, I'd send a link but it wouldn't get posted. {Ed001's Note - it will if you leave off the http:// bit, that would get it caught in the spam filters. Same with any links to stories, I have no problem posting up relevant links but they won't get through the spam filter with the http:// bit on the link.}

Baz the bear, bhtrdo was a regular poster on here a while back but vanished, i think he has been in the looney bin the last few months (he thinks it is still 1967 and celtic are euro champs. like you say mate, get back to the present). i can only assume with takeover looming the you lot are skint dig is getting put to bed and we go back to "we won the european cup". anyways, my preditions are as follows. ranger takeover to be complete, (sir) walter and his band of merry men win the league. celtic follow recent tradition (are you reading this bhrydo) by sacking another inferior manager, appoint new inferior manager (4th in 4 years), buy 15-20 players, sell 15-20 players, fail to qualify for europe then blame the fact the squad not gelled, blame the ref, blame the sfa, blame the spl (any untruthes here bhrydo?) then super ally invests wisely, and thern normal service resumes and rangers dominate the scottish game again!
the tiger - just letting bhrydo know how the super rich (but trophyless celtic) tradition works.

It can't be doubted that Murray is responsible for our current debt situation. He has overseen our finances since he took over. However, Murray has a remarkable success rate. One in which Whyte, if he does complete the takeover, will struggle to contend with.

This was in today's Herald:

"The Murray years have been an age of domination over Celtic. In purely footballing terms he has been an outstanding owner. In charge of Rangers at the conclusion of 22 seasons, they won the league in 15 of those. Of 67 domestic trophies contested since he bought the club in November 1988, they have won 36."
