Pleased to see that our manager has attempted to draw a line over the C.V. twins.

They made a mistake just like plenty of other footballers and ordinary folk.

They've been punished, now we move on.

Some would have them banished but were better than that. We look after our own and understand that no one is perfect.

Their cards will be marked and a move pencilled in at the next mistake but for now they are Rangers players and should get support from the fans.

SG has handled if very well IMO.

I agree SG and rangers have handled it well but they’ll get no support from me. If they had went into training and got caught later it could have ruined the season for us. I don’t care how stupid someone is, they would’ve known that could’ve happened before they made their decision.

I agree blue89. That's the bit that can't be forgiven. FACT they would have kept quiet and went in to training if they hadn't been caught. They had no care about how that would have affected our season. That's not an overreaction. We were very lucky that they got caught otherwise our full squad would be isolating. We wouldn't be to fulfil our european fixtures, we would have been thrown out. Our league momentum hampered. The financial implications and then of course the potential was there to spread the virus throughout the club and onto families. Someone tell me how that is overreacting because let's not kid ourselves that was a very realistic possibility as they had no intention of coming clean. Had they not been caught the would have walked into training. What if's don't cut it. That was very much their intention. 👍.

They couldn't care less about others when they did what they did. They knew exactly what they were doing and thought they would get away with it. As has been said on here already, they could have ruined our season and affected lives. I still say ship them out, especially Jones who is a complete prat. If they are allowed to stay with no further action then what sort of message does that send out in terms of discipline?

Just a wee thought on this punish players/ club issue.
In light of what has happened in the recent past, all players l would imagine have had it drummed into them that it was vital they comply with the C.V. rules.
I remember an officer in Strathclyde Police breaking disciplinary regs whilst off duty, he was dragged over the coals and dismissed. The force dealt with it quickly and decisively. Stratchclyde Police were not punished for the transgression of one of their employees that knew better. At the disciplinary hearing this officers gaffer was asked if he had told him not to behave in the manner he had. His reply was no l didn't, but l also didn't tell him not to punch anyone, or smash any windows, drive a car whilst drunk etc so if he had done that would it be my or the forces fault?
I think the club have done what was required of them in my opinion.

Well, clearly I touched a nerve with all you Perfect Peters on here.

The guys made a mistake, an error of judgment, they disregarded the rules along with everyone else who was there The exuberance of youth - nothing more.

A bit Like our national hero Sean Connery saying that it was OK to slap your wife or Gascoine or McGregor or Goram - error of judgements galore.

I've made plenty of mistakes and at times have paid the price but I was allowed the opportunity to redeem myself and have ended up not too bad.

Obviously if you've never made a mistake you won't understand but as far as I'm concerned these guys should be punished and then given the opportunity to prove that they are good enough to play a part in our future successes.

Just an opinion, albeit an unpopular one.

The thing is DK19, it’s not exactly Jones first ‘mistake’ is it? He has a long history of being a disrespectful numpty from tweeting when he was still employed by Kilmarnock, to getting himself purposefully sent off (and injuring himself as well) against Celtic in some dumb ‘playing to the crowd’ manner. To getting done for dangerous and reckless driving, to this. And these are only the ones we have heard and know about. And as everyone has clearly pointed out, including Gerrard in his interview, these guys have been told almost daily what they can and can’t do, how they must behave and what the rules are. How can it be a ‘mistake’ when it’s been drummed into the constantly? It would be like me saying to you ‘Don’t walk over there and kick that baby’ 20 times and then you, walking over and kicking the baby and saying ‘oops, it was a mistake! ’
And by the way, Gerrard hasn’t drawn a line under it, he rightly no longer wants it talked about and focused on in the press because as he said, everything has been so positive about Rangers recently and now this has brought about bad press and he doesn’t want that, so of course he wants the press to draw a line under it. However he also stated that once the players return after 14 days suspension they will be dealt with AND further punished by the club. And rightly so!

Let’s face none of these 2 guys are good enough for rangers, some will disagree but in my opinion both would move on eventually for nominal fees even if they hadn’t went to this party. If it was a couple of fan favourites like barasic and Jack for instance would the hysteria be the same? I doubt it! However as much as I don’t rate the players I do sympathise, life for everyone has been on hold for quite some time now and I don’t think C.V. is going anywhere so perhaps it’s time to get back to normal and stop hiding from it, keep the vulnerable safe and everyone else should get on with life! Just my opinion but the longer this goes on the worse it will be for everyone.

Since March I haven't been near a pub, restaurant, cafe etc. I haven't been on holiday, abroad or otherwise. I have 2 businesses and when I'm not in either place I"m at home or walking my collie. I've been to B&Q maybe about 5 times. The only other place I've been is in my house or garden. I'm making these sacrifices to protect friends, work colleagues and family, especially vulnerable family. I've almost washed the skin off my hands and I have a face mask on every day. It makes my blood boil when I see people openly flout the rules, cavort about at parties and walk about arrogantly refusing to wear masks. These 2 jokers may be young guys with raging hormones etc but really, with all the guidance from government and clubs themselves, constant testing and working in bubbles etc, surely at some point they have to get it into their thick heads that this is real. This is not a game and people's lives are on the line. It is just not on. It will just not do. Rant over!

Listening to Stevie is very interesting. The senior members in the rangers first team have a say in what happens in regards to the treatment of the culprits. He says that he has to consult with the senior players and ask for their input. Not since Walter Smith, have I had so much faith in this management team. The first two seasons were passable, but I believe that things will only get better from now on. As I said ages ago, Alex Ferguson won nothing in his first few years at man. u, then he went on to make them into one of the best teams ever. We can only hope. I see a 2-2 draw v the Portuguese.

Handles himself with class when interviewed regardless what’s going on. Always honest, sometimes quite damming of his own players when has to be. What I took from interview, don’t know bout u guys but I took that he might not be as quick to get rid as most of us. I feel he’s angry upset feeling let down, but, maybe a way back, for this season at least. Results of the SPFL club survey regarding voiding season etc:-
The SPFL has completed its latest consultation exercise with all 42 member clubs, gauging views on a range of issues related to C.V. and their possible effects during the current season.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "Like everyone in the game, the board is keen to avoid the division and dispute caused when Scottish Government restrictions prompted by C.V. forced the curtailment of last season.

"In light of the fast-changing nature of C.V. restrictions, the board is seeking to ensure that the game is as well-prepared as it can be for any eventuality and the League is consulting regularly with all 42 member clubs.

"We have already carried out one such consultation exercise this season and the second, which we have just completed, is unlikely to be the last. In the interests of transparency, we expect that we'll continue to monitor and publish the collective views of clubs as the season develops. "

Club responses included the following:

- 20 clubs agreed that they would be content to give the SPFL Board at this stage in the season power to curtail the season (on a points per game basis) if a particular threshold of matches had been played by the date of curtailment;

- 17 clubs agreed that they would be content to give the SPFL Board the power now to void the season if an insufficient number of matches had been played by the date of curtailment;

- 12 clubs were in favour of the SPFL Board being granted broad powers to manage further C.V. related disruption to the season. A number of other clubs were undecided on the issue, with some suggesting that they may reconsider later in the season;

- only four clubs were in favour of the SPFL Board being given the power to impose a 3-0 defeat on any club not fulfilling a fixture. A number of clubs expressed the view that the existing system, which gives the Board power to allow or refuse individual League Match postponements and to investigate the circumstances, which may result in disciplinary proceedings being commenced, allows "due process" to be followed before any sanction is imposed;

- a wide range of views were expressed as to how many fixtures should be completed for a valid season to be deemed to have been completed, in the event of early curtailment; and

- 19 clubs felt that it was "too early to take decisions now" and that decisions on any C.V. related disruption should be considered later in the season.

Interesting read tattie napper. My view is that at least 50% of the season should be complete before awarding titles, that way each team has played everyone home and away.
Interestingly 19 clubs want to see who’s top before deciding whether to award the title or not.

I think we keep the season going until there is no time left to play the remaining games, I'd say maybe end of June, that should allow the players a few weeks off before the start of the new season.
No way should any games from a previous season be played in the current season as too many players could have been bought and sold.
Once we reach the cut off date whoever is top of the league is the winner.
Cups if not complete are void.

This is the last I will post about the case of Edmundson and Jones. I am seeing Celtic fans saying we should be shut down for 2 weeks like them and Aberdeen. Some of them have even been decent and said that they know what Bolingoli did merited being shut down but Aberdeen players were caught before attending training so why are Rangers being commended. I will try to explain why briefly.

1) Bolingoli would have been required to self isolate and didn't. He played against Kilmarnock and potentially cross infected all his own team mates and also Kilmarnock players and staff. As there was close contact with whole Celtic squad then technically they had to shut down for 2 weeks.

2) Why our case differs from the Aberdeen 8 is as follows. Yes they did get caught before attending training but they all got tested and 2 came back positive. As they couldn't be sure that they got the virus on their night out they would have been in the presence of the whole squad prior to the night out so they all would have had to self isolate. Simple.

With the amount of testing that is now done George Edmundson and Jordan Jones will have returned a negative test prior to the Kilmarnock game so they DID NOT have C.V.. They then attended a party after the Kilmarnock game and did not mingle with any other Rangers player or staff member therefore there is no risk to the rest of the squad/ coaching staff which means no requirement to shut down for 2 weeks. Celtic fans are deluded and cannot see the difference in all 3 of the cases. Had they mixed with any other players or staff or had attended trying then absolutely we should be shut down for the next 2 weeks. We have been very very lucky because these 2 would have attended training had they not been caught. That is all it is, luck! However I understand that Celtic fans are feeling the pressure and will argue the case and put whatever spin they want on it. Ridiculous!

Think u could be right regarding fridge to an extent mate, I, said yesterday we won’t buy a new centre half with Katic due back. Edmundson will likely be kept till summer when a fully fit Katic takes his place in the 4 and he is moved on.

Border blue, they did not make a mistake, they showed a blatant disregard for our club, managers and the support.
If they had not been caught by police do u think they would have told SG, the doctor they had totally disregarded rangers fc instructions.

I wonder what the reaction would have been if we had to forfeit Europa ties or had multiple players placed in isolation due to their disregard for our club.
