Was just reading that M Allan and SG are looking at only adding a couple of more signings. I think this is great as adding only 2, all be it quality players will make our first eleven stronger it will also allow us the start introducing some of our youth to the squad once we got rid of some of the players that haven't made the grade.
Imo there needs to be a clear route to the first team for our young players as this will also show other young players from other clubs that choosing the famous is their best option.

I also think that we should be looking at how the Ajax model is run. I'm sure the R De Boer would be avail to provide advice.

03 May 2019 22:58:23
I 100% agree Stewartyblue. I've said this before. What is the point of having youth teams if you aren't eventually going to nurture them through to the first team? The Ajax model is brilliant. I know only a few will eventually make it to the top but they need to be given a chance.

04 May 2019 10:00:44
Give one of them a chance before signing Greg Stewart. I'm sorry but I just don't see what he would add to our team or squad.

04 May 2019 11:54:56
I'm kinda in the same camp re Stewart. Yeah he was kinda ok with killy but is he the player to take us to the next level not for me. SG obv thinks he can do a job but I just can't see it, it's not like he is 21 and has room for improvement the guy is 29. ( hope I'm wrong ) I also feel the same about Hastie but he has age on his side and has room to develop.

04 May 2019 13:52:49
Stewart would be a squad player, gerrard said that the current squad players are not good enough when he described their performance in the 1st half v liverpool u23's as embarrassing. On a free players like jones hastie stewart are a no brainer to boost the depth of our squad. All are more than capable of playing in the spl and are standouts in our league therefore they will add the depth we currently lack. Neither any of these players are of the required quality to take us to the next level. We will spend to get the 3 or 4 players required to take us to the next level. It makes good buisness sense to get "freebies" on low wages that have the ability to more than play in our league as squad players👍.

04 May 2019 15:25:21
If we're signing 3 or 4 for money they should be going straight into team coldo. Then the guys dropping out are squad players pushing the ones he was talking about out the door. I see no value on signing greget Stewart at all, we should be keeping the budget for the wages of 3 or 4 quality players or loans.

04 May 2019 16:13:53
I know they should walk into the team FB, that's what I said, "we will spend to get the 3 or 4 to take us to the next level". Guys like stewart will replace guys like grezda on the bench. For free he's a no brainer👍.

Mark Allen says Rangers have made the cake but need the cherry on top hahaha that's funny it's exactly that's words I used about Rangers transfer business last week . 🔴⚪🔵.

04 May 2019 10:01:29
Hi mark 😂.

03 May 2019 18:54:50
Well done to youth team winning their league.
Also qualified for champions league youth cup. Great experience for young players to develop
Good luck to reserves on Monday.

03 May 2019 20:53:15
Here here Jboy21!

03 May 2019 21:25:46
Great achievement by the young boys.

03 May 2019 22:07:27
The success of our youth set up is paramount to our future success👍.

04 May 2019 11:22:09
It augurs well that the youth are doing so well. Over the next few years we will hopefully see some of them pushing to get in the squad and then the first team, if they are good enough then they are old enough.

03 May 2019 15:52:29
Who remembers Celtic and Aberdeen conspiring to make sure Rangers finnished third last year? Are they arrogant enough to do it again for a Ibrox title decider? Hope so!

03 May 2019 16:29:09
That is the only fly in the ointment. Would not surprise me one bit.

03 May 2019 17:23:28
unless there very bad at math its it pretty impossible for Aberdeen to make up 11 point gap in 3 games.

03 May 2019 18:14:06
Don't think that's what they meant, as the conspiracy goes sheep beat mhanks we beat Edinburgh mhanks it means they potentially win title at ibrox the next week happened when sheep beat them at the piggery so the title would be won at our place not about sheep getting 2nd.

03 May 2019 18:47:08
Don't know about their maths skill but your reading definitely is questionable!

03 May 2019 18:58:22
Ibrox I hope sheep beat them. We will beat them at ibrox. So down to last game. I’d take that all day long.

03 May 2019 19:10:41
Haha i just read it again hahaha. My bad. that's what happens when men try multi task.

03 May 2019 22:47:34
Think They will win the league tomorrow. My mates a Dons fan and to be honest most don't hope for anything tomorrow. In fact most would like McIness to take the Scotland job. 😀😀.

04 May 2019 07:50:19
I think you're right Windy tbh. Wouldn't half stress them out if the sheep did somehow manage to scrape a win.

04 May 2019 11:23:45
Unfortunately, they will win the league today, bar a miracle. But bring on next season, we will be ready!

03 May 2019 13:50:01
If the rumours about Real Bettis wanting to pay £20 million for Alfie are true I would bite their hands off, and talking about hands off. KEEP YOUR HANDS OF ARFIELD, we need him in the midfield, he is a great link up man to the forwards. We should be doing all we can to keep our best players. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS THE FAMOUS.

03 May 2019 14:09:08
Only for £20 million!

Oliver Giroud? How about if he scored some goals.

{Ed001's Note - he has scored 12 this season.}

04 May 2019 00:44:32
Great off the ball and his link up play is superb. Didn't score a goal when France won the world cup but was a very big part of the system they play.

04 May 2019 10:07:44
And he'll be on shout 120 grand a week 😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - not sure how that is relevant?}

Now its crystal palace and southampton,
who are reportedly wanting to sign our star midfielder, scotty arfield. As far as i'm concerned its paramount we keep arfield, so stevie G can build a team around him. He's been superb for us in his first year with us.
Again its so easy to see that we're not the same team when arfield has been out injured.
He brings so much to the table for us, his non stop clever running and taking opposition players out of position, for others to benefit.
Not to mention him in the double figures for goals scored, which is a good return for a midfielder. He's currently the best at ibrox, of getting beyond our striker or strikers. Its glaringly obvious when arfield is out our team we aren't as good. We must keep him here,
unless we get offered crazy money, for him!
We all, rightly so go on about gerrard's best signings to date being either allan mcgregor or young ryan kent, but as far as i'm concerned scott arfield is on a par with both,
for that accolade!

03 May 2019 09:11:13
Sc11 - completely agree. No point trying to challenge for anything if you don't keep your best players, unless we are being offered silly money.
Even if we are offered silly money how would we replace him? Who is out there that we could get for the money that these two clubs will be offering for his services?
SG will want to keep his best players and move on those that do not fit into the side, and hopefully those finances allow him to source a marquee CB.

03 May 2019 10:21:04
SC 11 Allan McGregor was signed before Gerrard became manager.

03 May 2019 10:32:12
Arfield saying in press conference this morning his family see settled and he's happy wearing the badge. Lads going nowhere.

03 May 2019 12:20:28
Everyone has a price.

03 May 2019 13:18:13
A player at his age who we got for heehaw. I think if we got offered 4M plus we will sell him. Decent money to be reinvested into team or to buy Kent. He wanted the family back up the road so wouldn’t necessarily be his preference.

03 May 2019 14:28:36
Of course we could replace Arfield, I like him and hope we keep him but he's not irreplaceable.

03 May 2019 14:33:24
Everyone does have their price, but the lad is as happy as he's ever been here, highly doubt the gaffer would entertain selling him, who knows, but will be a vital part of the team next season.

03 May 2019 18:17:12
Don’t be surprised to see him signing a new contract within the next month, I believe these links are just part of the negotiations between his agent and the board. Arfield will still be a Rangers player next season.
