Charles Green and SFA having public statement and public counter statement spat tonight over whether D&P should or could have have gone through the CAS route instead of Court of Session.

Great, so much for Greene sitting down and trying to amicably resolve with SFA,nothing like alienating SFA further.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Green was not having a spat with anyone. He put out a statement then the sfa put out one after his. I suggest judging by the timing of the sfa statement it's them who are trying to cause alienation in this situation.

I mean how dare Rangers challenge a sanction that the sfa had no right to impose and one that was not even in they're own rule books?

The SFA have hit back at Charlie Green’s claim that Rangers were unable to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over their 12 month transfer ban.
Earlier tonight Green claimed that Rangers had been forced into going to the Court of Session in Edinburgh to challenge the transfer ban since an appeal to the CAS wasn’t allowed.
The SFA have moved quickly to deny that claim preparing the way for an explosive week with Rangers at war with the SFA.
Darryl Broadfoot, the SFA’s head of communications, stated: “In light of tonight’s statement issued by Charles Green, the Scottish FA would like to clarify the following: In referring the matter to the Court of Session, Rangers FC utilised the court’s right of Supervisory Jurisdiction contained within Scots Law.
“Given that any two parties can seek arbitration, the club was not “prohibited from appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport”, as was claimed.
“Indeed, no representation was made by the club to the Scottish FA to discuss the possibility or the process of seeking arbitration via the Court of Arbitration for Sport before Judicial Review was actioned.”
The SFA will decide on Friday the next step to take with Rangers after their 12 month transfer embargo was challenged in the Court of Session.
A suspension is looking more and more likely despite Green’s claim that such a move would be a disaster for Scottish football.
With Green, Duff and Phelps and Craig Whyte all appearing to be representing Rangers this week promises to be a milestone in the history of Scottish football.
FIFA have already voiced their concerns about the ongoing crisis. With the threat of suspending the Scotland national team from international competition, the SFA may have no other option but to suspend Rangers.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Lies and tricks to get out of their mess of their own making.

D&P would not have gone to court of session if green had told them not to. Green knows the rules he's former Sheffield chairman.

Now lying to cover up their feck up. They played hard ball with SFA in press media etc, trying to bully them in the courts...

Now SFA will expel rangers and they will have to liquidate...plan all along, assisted by the SFA and judiciary?

Agree5 Disagree4

In most long complicated dramas there are many characters who are seem to be goodies, are suspected of doing the evil deed, are cleared(or killed off) and at the last minute one villain is revealed. Here they are all rogues and villains. Name one character to come out of this saga with their good name!

Agree2 Disagree0

In my opinion he only said what he did to appease a less intelligent section of the support, can someone not get him a PR person?
Nevis

Agree5 Disagree0

If the above is true then Green is now being seen as coming out and publicly lying too.... is there anyone that we can believe?

Agree7 Disagree0

Little men [sfa] out of their depth, making it up as they go along. Rangers fans are sick of all the flack, for doing what? Supporting their team, that is really serious compared to murray, whyte, ticketus, blatter and duff & phelps financial 'slip-ups', for want of a better term.

Agree0 Disagree11

Haha if they expel Rangers it will be straight back to court of session for an Interim Interdict to halt the start of the league Remember Doncaster said that expulsion was too heavy a punishment in the first place Victimization is a crime time to take a leaf out the deviants book and play them at their own game

There are so many feckups here I wouldn't jump to any conclusions ( or wishes) just yet

Charles Green is right in the statement that he made! He state that the CAS route was not available as per SFA rules or at least by the wording of their own regulations. They state that in the case of bringing the game into disrepute that their judicial panel shall be the sole judge! Article 94 of the SFA handbook! Seems to be more a case of legal wording being the problem than of anyone telling lies!

Agree3 Disagree4

To poster 6 - Doncaster wasnt a member of the panel. What he says matters not a whit.

ah keep hearing if its a newco sfl3 it has to be, why? if its a newco would it not be more advantageous to apply to the northern conference, plenty of examples of this all over europe, it would mean more years of hurt but the end result would be worth it after all we keep getting told the spl will survive without us well heres the chance :)

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Good God!!

Crowds of 1500 - 2500 REEEEEAAALLLY,! & at least 7 years to reach championship IF VERY LUCKY

I am of the opinion that 99% of the comments come from the heart and not the head. Surely it is time to look at exactly what the 'crime' of not being able to pay your dues, deserves. Companies run football clubs and financial regulations are in place that control how they operate and that includes employment laws. Football associations are there to ensure the laws that apply to a team being involved in league and cups of which they are members are strictly adhered to. What we have with in our sad demise are people setting punishments outwith their jurisdiction. So let the respective factions sort out the factors that apply to them. Therefore if the company has fell foul of company law let the financial authorities deal with them and if the football team has broken any existing rules of the association, punish them within the existing rules and don't make it up as you go along.

Hard to understand how some folk go to prison for claiming benefit to put shoes on there kids' feet while on minimum wage and White tells his minions to steal millions and he isn't even being charged by tax authotities. Does not take away from the corporate responsibilty but surely that was criminal.

Good post
Unfortunately I think we're screwed either way BUT we needs to accept where we are and move on.

Read somewhere today that there may be a change to the transfer embargo where we can only sign free agents.
Got me thinking of possibilities, assuming that most players stay

McGregor

Whittaker, Bocanegra, Cuellar, Wallace

Davis, Gattuso, Black, Aluko

Naismith, Lovenkrands.

Subs

Alexander

Broadfoot, Goian, Perry, Cole

McCabe, Ness, McCulloch, Kerkar

Little, Lafferty

Before we get the usual replies of you deserve all you get etc, I know this is unrealistic, but just thought it may bring a little light relief.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Well said, as the other side of the city used to say '' always look on the bright side''. We will return bigger and stonger.

Agree0 Disagree9

I was thinking Hargreaves, Smith, & Murphy
For midfield as they have all been freed in premiership

bil72

Agree4 Disagree5

And will they come for wages of less than £10k a week?

I'm not buying a season ticket until the transfer window is closed and i know for certain who's in the team. I'm not paying a season ticket to watch unknowns or 11 new kids.
Show me the product and if I like it I'll maybees buy into it.
Rumplestiltskin.

Believable12 Unbelievable14

What a great fan you are - you'll only watch the team if the big earners are there? away and watch someone else.

I would love to see the young lads coming through. would also love to see the likes of mcgregor, naismith ect

i will buy my ticket for next season whther they are there or not though. i only want the club on a financially stable footing - buying season tickets will help do that.

Agree12 Disagree6

That's shocking!...If you're a supporter you will follow your team regardless of who is in it!...... your statement is the definition of being a glory hunter!

Agree14 Disagree4

U walk away pal who needs fans like u toddle off

TB

Agree4 Disagree2

IF we are still around & still exist to play in the 3rd div, I would expect the season tkts to be reduced - BUT to give the club the best possible chance of starting again WE HAVE to buy into it.
Same applies for any share issue! IMO.

bil72

Agree10 Disagree1

Trading standards. You cannot sell a product or service at a quality below the asking price.

Agree3 Disagree2

Agree with OP. Support your local shop but if the product is substandard I have better use for my money.

Agree3 Disagree3

Can see now the real fans are standing up and the glory hunters are being exposed becuase the trophy laden years wont be so trophy laden every year and we wont have such big stars.

If we dropped league i would expect a drop in price but the club needs its fans to buy into it as a previous poster has stated.

aberdeen lost all thier stars of years gone by yet still sign up for thier season books

st.mirren dont have the stars we have yet their fans sign up and so does every other club.

If you trully support GLASGOW RANGERS - you will support the club through thick and thin.

dont walk away. if you do you wont be welcome back.

ryanrfc

Agree3 Disagree2

All due respect to rynarfc, but we are RANGERS FC and not GLASGOW RANGERS, whom we might well become unfortunately.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes all the other clubs have season ticket but not at the same level of costs as rangers, OP has expressed his opinion which I don't have a problem with and at the end end of the day if you have the money to pay for for something that you might not receive go ahead Green is waiting for you with open arms

Agree0 Disagree1

Its not about not supporting your club its about supporting a new man in charge - seen it all before with Whyte why buy into this latest guy? and his "this club will never be in debt ever again" statement lets see eh

Rumour down here in London at a jubilee swaree that those chaps at the Commons Public Accounts Committee are on Wednesday, after the holiday, instructing HMRC not to accept CVAs below 51p in the pound. It seems a decision has been made and the politically sanctioned line drawn at 51p on what was previously a very blurred area.

Now that normally vocal Ally has got his one year transfer ban overturned, I'm shocked he's not on TV basking in the limelight.
I am now increasingly interested in all Ally's transfers inbound this season. All the targets he secures at Ibrox. Well done.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Is that a touch of sarcasm I hear ;-)

Bil72

Agree3 Disagree0

Targets secured yeah, not fifty guys turning up for a trial and nobody gets a job.
Remember the guys doing a bunk on the midnight Glasgow to London train? And the two Indian lads had to fly here on their own money? Both attempts at stimulating the Asian market?

celtic fan here.can anyone tell me definitively what happens if the cva offered last week is accepted but rangers lose the big tax case.would this not just plunge rangers straight back into administration or is it going to affect hmrcs decision on wether to accpt the cva?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Also what if Ticketus accept 9p then after The BTC it becomes 3p then that hasn't been accepted and Green has to go back to all 273 financial victims.
I'm hearing this is all to be a nonsense anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

The CVA does not offer a guaranteed amount, the 9p figure quoted is best case scenario. If accepted the lose tax case hen the 9p figure reduces to other creditors. It will not mean if they come out of admin, then lose tax case the they would go into admin again.

Agree1 Disagree1

Big tax case will be included in it will be for debts accrued before 14june 2912 AS the so called tax fraud was before that date

In light of rangers involving police, and quite rightly,in racial abuse of their players will they now condemn their own fans for sectarian abuse of kyle lafferty?Surely now,in the 21st century,it is time they distanced themselves from this knuckle dragging ulster faction of their fans? Laffertys crime? Getting married in a catholic chapel! Truly shocking and indefensible that people can get so upset about something like this. {Ed039's Note - Rangers for many years have condemned any sort of bigoted/sectarian/racist abuse and have worked closely with Celtic and the police to eridacte this disease from our game, some people choose not to listen)

Believable15 Unbelievable5

First I've heard of this.
Rangers need to call in the police it's a criminal offence. The new sectarian laws deal with this.

Agree2 Disagree0

Shamefully some things are slow to change.Let's hope with the shake up of club and fans,we move into this centuary. How did we get into this sad state where religion is not a private matter but one to abuse people with.

Agree7 Disagree0

If this is true, now is the time for the authorities to step up and deal with these morons.
Not a great fan of the big man, but FFS this is 2012!!

Won't get Daly dundee utd will never deal with a team that boycotts away games.

Michael Owen! {Ed039's Note - Why wont this one go away, Owen was interviewed a few weeks ago and he said that The Championship in England wouldnt even be an option for him, what makes folk think he is going to come to a shattered shell of an SPL club)

Agree5 Disagree2

Owen going to USA he'll be a bigger star than Beckham. {Ed039's Note - Bigger then Beckham, doubt it)

Agree4 Disagree5

All very nice guys, but reality check
WE MIGHT NOT EVEN HAVE A CLUB, FFS!

I agree bil but im sick to the back teeth talking about our club dying, i would prefer to dream a bit rather than come on here and read sh1t that people dont really understand and dont know whats gonna happen to our club, surely you must be sick of the sight of our club is gonna die, ok it might be true but lets dream a wee bit might do the ordinary honest hard working supporter good.....
craig+babybear.
p.s id also take a couple of young guys from falkirk

Agree0 Disagree1

Ok guys I ' ll dream the dream
First port of call would be the Football Players Assoc. in England - they have over 700 players (100 from premier league) on a list who have been ' released' from contracts.Think there might be some gems in there!

I'm a little bit biased here as a Gers fan but I think Fifa shouldn't consider themselves to be untouchable by the law, after all of their corruptions & having a royalty type leadership, They need to have a control where leadership changes more often, be accountable & challengeable, the world changes all the time & laws change with it.

Rangers have messed up big time & should be punished in accordance with the law.

Believable14 Unbelievable8

Fifa's rules and now you do not want to play even though you signed up for them take up another sport

Agree14 Disagree6

Is that not trying to deflect responsibility?? finding faults with other people doesnt take away what rangers have done..

Agree12 Disagree2

He made a valid point about FIFA being corrupt to the core, we all know this. Read his ending line but just in case I'll quote "Rangers have messed up big time & should be punished in accordance with the law" to me he's saying we should be punished and in no way is he trying to deflect the blame!!!
The point he's making is about how corrupt FIFA is Yet they seem to be untouchable and he's right There should be regular leadership review, blatter ain't exactly squeaky clean is he? But everyone happy to have him as the main mam for the whole of world football.
Think about it jeez

Agree7 Disagree2

So the SPL being guilty of League fixing being caught redhanded and trying to deflect the blame on to Rangers is different lol FIFA are not just probing Rangers SFA were brought up at meeting in Switerland on Wednesday at an anti corruption in football meeting oh dear oh dear
