ed. see lik ally went on scouting mission to argentina. as river plate have been relegated dont you think he could or should move for any players he thought he could bring in , seeing he could get them on the cheap ?

Rhysrfc

{Ed010's Note -Rhys, I agree with your views but there is one major problem with signing players from South America and that is that they won't qualify for work permits. Any player that Ally may have identified would either need to be playing regularly with his national team or he would need to hold an European passport.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

They need ex amount of INT caps to gain a work pemit or altern a passport for an EU country. UK border rules...

Not like Holland or France where they can take all the young gems... Look at fat ronaldo, started at PSV and Ronaldinho at PSG, Germany too they can take them all

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you want anyone from a team that got relagated with river plate where it is nearly impossible to for them or boca to get relegated

Gonna try and say something positive, tbh i havent been of late.

I HAVE A FEELING THAT NESS WILL BE A STAND OUT IN MF THIS YEAR, EVEN MORE THAN LAST AFTER GETTING TO GRIPS WITH THIS INJURY, CANT SEE US NEEDING A LOT IN MF WITH NESS EDU DAVIS MCCULLOCH AND HUTTON, GOOD SOLID CENTRAL MIDFIELD BASE....ALSO

i THINK WITH MCCOIST MORE LIKELY TO GO WITH MORE EXPANSIVE FOOTBALL FLECK WILL START TOP SHOW US WHAT HES REALLY GOT.

bit random i know, i jus think last yr he was injured (fleck) right at the start of pre-season and it f**ked him getting up to speed and in the frame,

walter was a legend but very methodical and set in his ways to gt the best out of what he had, see great things from fleck with a run in the team

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Completely agree about Ness, think he will be a stand out, but have real doubts about Fleck, think he was a flash in the pan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to add to this, Fleck is not a LM, he plays up top and in between MF and ST...

Edu
Davis Ness
FLECK
Jelavic

Agree0 Disagree0

I know ppl doubt fleck now but remeber hes 19 In reality he could be pish for another 2 yrs and still be a rangers legend as hes still soo young,

Just remember winnie_the_blue told you all that fleck will rise from the ashes lol

ally has told you all the truth now..its obvious that mr whyte has a massive job on his hands just to steady the club and the tax issue is not simple- its complex and going on from here is a waste of time as you wont want to think things could be so bad and you will say Im lying etc...it will take 5 years minimum to sort it all out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How do u know? Are you a current expert in the finances of rangers...

5 yrs.. if the case is won then its won, theres no back lash. If we lose then yes perhaps ur right.

"steadying the ship" is obvs what hes doing but again, I dont see your 5 yr theory and how you can justify that?

Whyte has already brought in people to sort the finances out and build the rev up via the brand name and also other plans.

Everyone is entitled to post what ever they want but just stop making out like things are worse than they actually are or have to be

03 Jul 2011 22:21:11
I've been watching The Rangers since I was a sperm in ma da's baw bag.
Seen them through thick and thin.

So nows the time to get behind Whyte, Ally and anyone who pulls on the famous blue jersey and roar them on to 4iar.

Forget the Murray years of free spending and start posting some more optimistic opinions on here.

In Ally we trust.

{Ed010's Note -I don't think I ever read life being created in such terms lol

Finally we need to get behind our team, money or no money we are the people here we go 4in a row

mccoists on sky sports pages saying we need quantity not quality for the season ahead?. im sure it was the other way around last season. mr white im wondering where this 12 million is or even the 5 million per season?. ally sais we are working to a tight budget so does smith. would someone inside ibrox please stand up and make yourself heard this debacle has gone on long enough the fans want to know whats going on. we will end up with a dodgy rep if white wont be more honest and no player will want to play for us.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

03 Jul 2011 21:59:47
I am seriously worried about Craig Whyte. He said he was giving Ally a £10m transfer kitty but on sky sports Ally says that Gers fans should not expect any big signings, We need quantity not quality, we are working on a tight budget. We are gonna end up with a lot of players that no one has heard of.

{Ed010's Note -is that such a bad thing ? Celtic took a chance on Kayal and Izzaguirre and while we may not want to admit it, both players will go to the EPL at some point for large fees. We need to do the same in my opinion, we need to pick up players who haven't been heard of and because of that, won't command large transfer fees and wages. This is a high risk policy but one that we must embark on.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ed010, can i just add.. izza and kayal from my recolation cost celtic more than 2 million each we are struggling to offer above the 1 million mark so its gonna be really hard to find a player of that sorta quality for the sorta pennys we have

{Ed010's Note -I agree that it will be difficult but I was trying to imply that these type of players are out there but we need the infrastructure in place to find them. Just so you know, these are the prices that Celtic paid for these two players.

Izzaguire cost £650k (with 30% of any future transfer fee to Motagua) and Kayal was £1.2m.

Agree1 Disagree0

What like tommer hamed ?

{Ed010's Note -Tomer Hemed may well have been one of those players but unfortunately, we'll never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2011 21:57:54
Everybodies panicking because the longer this rumbles on the worse it looks....and its a possibility that we might need to sell everybody to keep the ship afloat a fire sale so maybe if we sell the family silver now we can get more for it..I dont honestly think the p.r. about the tax case is true maybe if you want to be very optimistic you could say that we might be lucky but the excise people dont do test cases they do the real thing and I dont think they would waste there time on nothing as they are accountable to you and me and all tax payers and we cant let rangers off if the laws been broken and I dont see that Mr whyte is a mug either but this is the type of circumstances in which Im led to believe he specialises in but its not a sure thing
that the rangers we know and love will survive in its present form and it has to be said other clubs will go to the wall Im sure even the other lot will be at risk too ...The times they are a changing people..

Believable0 Unbelievable2

03 Jul 2011 21:39:44
if ally is saying that theres gonna be no marquee signings this year and we qualify for the champions league, we really will have to question whytes inegrity

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Jul 2011 21:04:44
If football was about friends we would have had man u players every year, sir alex grew up a rangers fan and was also good friends with walter smith and we got nothing, so why would a man who doesnt care about rangers start handing us players just because he 'keeps in touch' with durrant. What do you think ed? Saying that my dads friend knows durrant so i'll try and find out any players that are possibilities.

{Ed010's Note -Alex Ferguson has a "duty" to Man Utd first and foremost. At a time when even they are watching the pennies, he is highly unlikely to loan us any of his fringe players, simply because we couldn't afford their wages and Man Utd are very unlikely to subsidise them. With that in mind and if the statement has any truth to it, then I can only envisage "youth" players being loaned to us but we would need to pick up their wages.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So ed the chelsea thing is alot of sh#t dont be an ass about it the guy is only having an opinion

KA

{Ed010's Note -KA, there have been numerous threads over the past few weeks linking us with Man Utd fringe players. I will admit to misreading the original post, believing that the author was asking me to comment about that situation. It was a genuine mistake on my part and I most certainly wasn't being an "ass" about the post or the author's views.

As with any loan deals from clubs in the EPL, Rangers would need to rely on the clubs registering their 25 man squad, before the close of the transfer window. In my opinion, if Chelsea do submit their list of players before then, we might be able to get one or two in on loan but this is a high risk strategy. It may however be something that could be discussed when Chelsea come to Ibrox in a few weeks and that may take the risk out of the situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats bad craic ed not putting up just coz i said u were out of order this is why this site aint good coz if any 1 questions u it doesnt go on fecking joke

{Ed010's Note -please explain what you are referring to please

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a fair point, but nothing has changed financially for them, so if spending nearly 20 million and being linked with players who will cost 20-30 million is watching there budget theres a big problem ed

{Ed010's Note -I agree that it doesn't stack up given the numbers that you have quoted. If we were to be offered Johnny Evans on a season's long loan, we couldn't afford his wages without help from Man Utd. If Evans is on £40k a week and we can only afford £10k, then Man Utd would need to subsidise us to the tune of £30k a week or £1.5m over the season. While these figures may be well out, I am only using them as an example. Man Utd would prefer to loan us "youth" players, who are earning less than £10k and we may get a "gem" for the season and the player gets more experience. Again, I have only used Man Utd as an example but every other EPL will be in the same boat unless it is a player, who they believe may have a chance to become a first team regular in a few years and they then might be prepared to pay Rangers (through paying the wages) to gain experience, similar to Weiss

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir Alex said recently that he offered players to walter on loan but we just couldnt afford the wages. It was in the paper not long ago

Why are so many Bears getting in a panic over the lack of signings? Do you want Ally to do what Lennon done and bring in any old Tom D*ck and Harry? Patience is a virtue fellow Bears. Still two months of the transfer window to go. To all of those who are in a panic just ask yourself this: "Who have Celtic signed"?
We are the Champions, We are the team to beat, We fought to the end, WE ARE THE PEOPLE

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Celtic have signed kelvin Wilson, mathews and pretty much signed that wanyama guy. That's why many are scared coz they've got a big squad and it's improving.

Agree1 Disagree0

Any old Tom D*ck and Harry? Izzy Kayal Hooper Commons enough said

Agree1 Disagree0

Eh the season starts in 3 weeks time bell end Given that we have lost out publicly on 3 palyers already and potentially 4 in goodwillie too.. and before someone says we didnt offer such and such this and that, we were wanting them FACT, we never got them FACT.

Thats why certain of us are nervous.

Couldn't agree more Too many so called fans spouting utter pis@ about Whyte this Ally that... Panic panic panic why? We are Rangers no need to buy the first average player available That's what Celtic are there for lol

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Jul 2011 19:38:05
think about this lads,

people on here are questioning Mr Whytes funds - but havent any of you thought about this ..

1. Ally met with Whyte to discuss the figures he would have for the transfer market - if there was ANY indication that there was not a good sum of money there - dont you think word would have gotten out and it would be all over the press? ..

2. Gordon Smith would never have went anywhere near the position he has now if there was again, ANY indication of Whyte's intentions or funds ..

So we are in safe hands, players dont want to come to a "rookie" manager with all the pressure looming over him to succeed.

Lets sit back, and see how the transfer window pans out for us. this is the 3rd offical day of the window, we have over a month and a half to bring players in, so stop all your whining, we WILL have new players.

LewisWATP

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Mate thats all bullsh#t u ave just come out with and i dont believe a word u have said

Agree1 Disagree3

Behave yourself...even mcoist has come out in the press as recent as today and is quoted saying that the budget is extremely tight and that there will be no marquee signings. So much for mcoist being able to front load his transfer budget to £12 million this year if he so wished...what a load of BS this Whyte character has been spouting. At least with murray you knew where we stood...when we were skint, he said we were skint and had to cut our cloth. Also so much for whyte being a recluse and not wanting any of the limelight...he has never been out it since he took over...as much as i hate to admit it, as i think Johnson was a bitter old goat on his way out of the board, but i do think whyte needs watching

Agree3 Disagree0

Nonsense - Do you honestly believe Ally would indicate to anyone what was discussed. Plus the most Gordon Smith has to lose is 1 months salary.

I wrote the other day that Whyte has set up his business so he cant lose and can then asset strip the Bears.

When this is done Rangers will have a new owner having bought the club after the HMRC case for £20 million + Whyte and Ellis will re-develop Murray Park and SDM will get a healthy backhander.

Whyte talks of being confident about the HMRC case but his actions speak louder than words. His outlay in this is £1 for the majority of share. His limited company is servicing the £18 million owed to lloyds tsb for a maximum of 6 months and that expense will be taken from the club finances. The cost of upgrading Ibrox probably came from the ECL money paid towards the end of last season.

This breaks my heart because it will take the bears several seasons to recover. If the bears go into administration this year points will be deducted by the SPL and UEFA cause bother too.

Agree0 Disagree1

Marquee signings meaning £4.5m like what we done last year. We need about 6 - 8 players with the budget we've got. That budget includes work inside ibrox. Give the guy a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2011 19:14:21
McCoist acknowledges that he must dip into the transfer market over the coming weeks, but admits he is working to a tight budget.

With that in mind, he believes quantity is more important than quality and has warned Gers supporters not to expect any big-money arrivals.

Did your lot not say last season quality more important than quantity?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

So he aint got 12 mill he has 5 mill like i said months ago and got slated for ??

KA

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah 5 million to cover wages aswell so expect about 3 low budget signings and a few youngsters on loan. looks like bad times for rangers but we've been saying that for 3 years and they've won the league

Agree0 Disagree0

We will find out what he has at the end of the window. Rangers first team squad proved last year they are the best in the SPL, how do you improve? By covering your weaknesses which was the size of squad.

ed do you no when the EPL 25 man squed has to be in so we can get loans of them............also the lack of movment in the transfer market are the old board wright about mr whyte..what u think ed

{Ed010's Note -I believe that the EPL clubs must register their 25 man squad, which must include "8 home based players", by 5.00pm on 1st September.

With regard to the old board's perception of Mr Whyte, I have no idea at the moment if they ultimately will be proved right. Rangers fans need to be patient and we will see what transpires over the next 8 weeks. On the 1st September, we will all be in a better position to determine if the old board's concerns, were right but for some fans to have already made up their minds, I find quite incredible, without knowing what will transpire over these next 8 weeks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

WELL SAID THE ED.ALTHOUGH THE FANS YOU TALK ABOUT ALLREADY HAVING MADE THERE MINDS UP.....INCASE YOU DIDNT NO ED..ARE CELTIC FANS POSTING

{Ed010's Note -sadly my friend, that is definitely not the case. Yes, some Celtic fans post their opinions on here but there are many more negative contributions from "Rangers" fans, all voicing their views, opinions and concerns about the current "plight" of our club.

I have not seen enough of wallace to say if he is pish or not but by suggesting he is that means u think SUPER ALLY is after a dud, I think I will trust our manager's judgement on a player rather than your's

I think he is the best Scottish left back since David Robertson. And we would have won a watch if we get him.He has had Wolves and Wigan watching him.And could move for him.He can defend but equally attack in equal order. And has everything that is needed for a modern day full back.Who could easily play a C.B or L.M.And is only 22, so is bound to come on leaps and bounds. This is why he is already a Scotland international.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Whit ? Give it a rest mate, that F****r is lazier than Boyd

Agree4 Disagree1

Are you mad mate boyd was lazy but his goals made up for a striker is there to score goals and nobody does it better than boyd in the spl proven fact

Agree2 Disagree4

I agree yes he scored tap in's and pens, but mate, football is more mobile nowadays and if you are to succeed at the highest level, everyone in the team needs to put in a shift. Take our last 10 games of the season, the effort that was put into every game is what won the title in the end, and needs to be carried into this coming season.Do you believe Boyd would have walked off drenched in sweat the way Lafferty and Naismith did? NO CHANCE and nor would Carew, no goer for me, sorry.

Agree5 Disagree0

Walking off covered in sweat goes for nothing if boyd was in that team at the end of the season there he woulda scored for fun him and jelavic up front would be frightning way wee naisy out wide, i know he is lazy but he is a striker and strikers are there for goals , luca toni rudd van nis, ravanelli, viduka all lazy c**ts but good scores and im not saying he is up there with them all i am saying is thats his style of play, if it wasn for his tap ins and penaltys rangers widnae be at 3 in a row plus he came off the bench and won us the league cup,

Agree2 Disagree1

Carew is 6'5 and prob id guess about 16.5 stone of muscle, hes solid, a target man so hes not gong to run about alot, dominate cbs and win headers... hes old skool no9.

I would take him in a heart beat. Kris Boyd was a good finisher and that was it, I would never want to see him in a gers top again, scored goals against the s**tter teams, dont nothing in eur or old firms.

Forcing you to play very negative football. Hopefullly Allys style will rule boyd out forever.

Agree2 Disagree3

Dmitri Bulyakin is about that size, and was scoring goals for fun at Den Haag in Holland. And is on a free transfer.I would love to see us sign him.He is still only 31, and a Russian international. You would think that we could offer him as much wage as he was on at Den Haag.

He couldny get a game at Mboro, or Forest, that tells you they don't rate him either.I could score half the goals he did, any striker playing for Rangers should be in the top scorer charts every season, he couldny get a start in Europe, or against the DHIMS ( scored ONCE ), again I say..... NO TO CAREW

Boyd got 12 goals in the championship. And was always in the Forest team.Hardly a guy that could not cut it at that level. It was just a guy moving to a new area, and adjusting to settle in.The league is hardly a challenge.Playing with a dud team was in Boro.Who did not replace Johnston, the winger that went to Man City.Who would have set him up more chances if he had stayed. But lets face it, there was more English than Scots.Who failed that club last year.

BLUENEWS .
Goodwullie to sign for cardiff on monday after medical , this is really getting beyond a joke . Why arent you gers fans wondering about this character ? ASWEDE Get your heads out of the sand , we wont pay more than 5-6k wages per week And thats a fact.........

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think that Ally & Craig Whyte are wondering about the character of Goodwillie.

Do we really need a player who of his obvious ned tendencies?

How's he going to react in the 'Old Firm spotlight'?

Is it worth the risk?

Can we get someone as good without the baggage?

Agree3 Disagree2

I think ally mccoist is just what david goodwillie needs ally was the boy wrecking chip shops fighting drinking when he was that age

Agree1 Disagree1

5k-6k a week? Did we not just offer Whitty 20k plus? When we could have gotten Goodwillie for a Mil or less last season why would we pay double that? With 2 court cases over his head and the way the mob from the other side of town treat our players he could be a liability to the squad and himself. Not good business in my book.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd agree that we're staying away from Goodwillie because of the risk factor. We don't have a lot of money to spend so £2 million on a player who has been involved with the police on numerous occasions isn't good business.

He'd struggle to cope with the pressure of playing in Glasgow and we could have another Duncan Ferguson on our hands.

So Craig Whyte doesn't think Goodwillie is worth 2 million, is that his opinion or ally's?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He probably is worth 2mil, but he brings a hell of a lot of baggage. I'd guess that is the reason Rangers are not 100% committed to buying him.

"The priority for us is strengthening defensively. We know the weaknesses. There's still a wee doubt about Madjid Bougherra, even though he has a year of his contract to go.

"If we get the defence settled, maybe we can experiment a little bit more further forward. Carlos Cuellar is obviously a big target. There's a lot of work to be done before we can get anywhere near a deal, but the clubs have been in contact.

Trying to get defence sorted out then go on to experiment

CARDIFF and Blackpool are poised to try to snatch David Goodwillie from under Rangers' nose - but NO business will be done until his rape court case is over.

Reports in Wales yesterday suggested the Dundee United youngster was due in the capital tomorrow for a medical ahead of a £2million switch to Malky Mackay's side.
