I think the RST are a shambles of an organisation full of people who have a habit of putting their size tens in it every time they open their gobs. However I completely agree with their calling for a boycott of Dundee United.

I never thought I would see the day I gave them praise but behold this it it. We should not have one fan there because they were vocal to the point of hatred. Their chairman is nothing but a blow hard and he should not earn one more penny from us. This is also an SFA competition and therefore that is another reason.

Green get the screens on at Ibrox and we will happily turn up to see Rangers get an income, but not one penny for these sanctimonious pricks.

Believable14 Unbelievable12

WRONG. Whatever happened to follow follow we will follow.....?
Your first 11 youths will run out in a critical cup game desperately needing support to help them lift a cup this season. So you leave Ally there on his own? You walk away? For what? Childish petulance over the liquidation? You hate Dundee Utd more than you love your own team? You want to inflict damage to the Scottish game?

Agree13 Disagree10

Dundee united charged us twice thats why i wont be returning. As for not turning up to see our team- why were the celtic fans ie boycotting their own club at home?

Agree9 Disagree6

1) op here, we want to make Dundee United and SFA suffer. Don't preach at us for Inflicting damage to the scottish game, they did that all by themselves.

Agree9 Disagree10

It's right the Rangers support boycott this game. Why should we give our money to a club that stole money from us a few seasons ago? Charging fans twice for 1 game was despicable and is another example of an SPL club willing to cheat supporters

Agree6 Disagree2

Why didnt yous boycott the second game at the time then???inflicting damage to the scottish game, pmsl the defunct toxic rangers brought the scanal upon themselves....

Boycot no. Just a refusal. just a refusal to give thompson one more penny from me and hopefully many more gers fans .I am a season ticket holder and the last time i stepped foot in tannadice i vowed i would never return, due to the fact i had paid twice for the same match! this has nothing whatsoever to do with the situation going on right now.this is about his greed and disregard for fans losing out of pocket twice, £ signs before common sense, not even half price tickets! nope full price and extra travelling expenses, time of work, just that feeling of getting shafted. so i say lets shaft them by not turning up and taking half of THEIR gate. i personally dont think we are any where near a cup winning team yet, as long as we win the league race that will do me for starters then build on that for next season, so i know it could hurt the team if we dont go but if i was to explain to them how i feel about thompson im sure they would understand
Jammydodger

Believable18 Unbelievable8

So you,ll be boycotting elgin (away) then as they also tried to fleece you, £ b4 common sense (safety)

Agree2 Disagree0

I'LL ASK ONE LAST TIME . IF PAYING TWICE UPSET YOU SO MUCH . WTF DID YOU GO , WAS THAT NOT STUPID.. shamrock

Before thinking about league re-structure sort out the management of Scottish football. All we are getting, at the moment, are useless people in authority blowing hot air. They should justify their existence and remember who pays their wages. Even lawless would admit they are puppets and he should know. The rest of the clubs should waken up and smell the coffee.
The unfortunate thing is that you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, no matter how it is shaped.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Does that get the prize for the most cliche's in the one post? lol

Guys the only reason we should boycott dundee united is because they made us pay for new tickets for a game which was abandoned due to their inability to have a fit and proper pitch.

Leave the political boycotting to the shameful fans of the east end.

Believable14 Unbelievable14

I take it none of your whyter than Whyte fans come from the east end of Glasgow ?....DH

Agree9 Disagree5

Shameful fans of the East end ,you have a short memory my friend .Remember how 200 of you bravely took on that lone policeman in Manchester.

Haha the only people talking about boycotting us your shameful mob! So best you grow up a wee bit junior!

Wonderful !!
The SPL have decided on 2 x 12 splitting into 2 x 8

All that proves is they can do long division by even numbers !!

Why dont they go the whole hog and play all the games, first half in daylight and second half in the dark.

Why does the SPL think they have to do something different from the rest of the world ?

Next thing they will do if Rangers get back up to the top league they will have a catholic ref on one half and then bring on a protestant one for the other half.

Mickey mouse ideas by cartoon characters in high places !!

We need 18 top and 14 second and third. Nothing else will work any better. Oh yes, and amalgamation of all three bodies is a must.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

It was in operation in Austria for nearly a decade!

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree with much of that. Although I can see some logic in the 2x12 -> 3x8 (that's 3 not 2, OP!) which is better than the 33-game split the SPL currently suffers.

I only wish the competition was run by the SFL, who manage to keep their pretensions under control.

Agree3 Disagree4

It was in operation in Austria !! That just about sums it all up

Agree4 Disagree0

Austria are two places above us in the FIFA World rankings so why denigrate them ?

Aright Percy's,

I'm confused? What's all this boycott nonsense? Why would you not support your club, whilst depriving it of much needed income?

That's what you would call 'an own goal.'

I, personally, would love you to go through because I want an old firm game, and I want it at Castle Grayskull coz your mob would get a total tobering!

Support your team.....numbskulls! lol

Miko x

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Couple of points Miko x

(1) Your lot boycotted your last home game.

(2) Your only on here to see The Rangers.

(3) Casle Grayskull is the home of the good guys ya trumpet lol

Agree14 Disagree9

Simples ' Mickey 'x...... The Dundee Utd chairman Mr Thompson has shafted us on more than a few occasions in the past. Remember this clown was one of the first to back the Sheep, in the Sell out Saturday nonsense. We will see if His own supporters will fufil this, as us Gers fans will Not be giving him anymore of our Cash!

Agree8 Disagree7

I like the idea of a 'beam back' to Ibrox, fans can then watch the game there knowing the money raised will stay at home. Whether this will be permitted by the TV beaks is unsure, but it's a good idea.

Agree5 Disagree6

3}you would have to give half to united. it's their cup tie as well . this might work with league games but probably not . you would have to pay sky or espn a fortune

03 Dec 2012 19:33:17
So the scottish football associations have agreed a 12 12 18 split ,meaning there will be no promotion this year

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Not yet they haven't. And isn't it for 2014/15? By which time Rangers will be top of SFL2 and in the second division of 12.

But there's a long way to go and expect some gerrymandering yet.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Dec 2012 19:24:07
We should boycott , but there is a answer to supporting the team on the night 5000+bears should travel to tannadice and make themselves heard from outside the ground

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Yes boycott if you like. Well within your rights. But if we get a good hiding let's not give the players a hard time. It's obviously about much more than football.

Agree5 Disagree1

Are you on something ? . So 5000 will travel to Tannadice and stand outside on the street or surrounding areas chanting and the police will stand back and admire . Maybe they could open Dens Park and put big screens in or put fan zones around Dundee with screens and bars . Oh wait .......DH

Agree6 Disagree3

If the fans are standing chanting why would the police get involved?

Agree2 Disagree2

@3 EH because they might be construed as a disorderly gathering.

Regarding the possibility of the boycott. I think that if it could be organised then each registered supporters club send 2 or 4 members to the game, or none. This would then have a token support at the game to support the team while the vast number of seats would be empty, a bit like Porheid I suppose.
I think it would have the desired effect of a boycott but at the same time having a small number of fans, representing the majority, there to show the team we're with them.
I am certain the players would understand and respect the decision to boycott and would appreciate the small support.
Also I am sure the necessary arrangements could be made to have the small numbers share coaches with costs divided up through the clubs.
I think it's trying to get the balance between boycott at all costs and the support your team arguments and an individual's right to go to the game.
Certainly there will be plenty comments from the Green Seat Brigade about any proposed boycott, but they have been quietly having a few home boycotts of their own this season.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Call me old fashioned but i think we should just go & support the team, this is do or die for our cup ventures this season its a big game could be a great occasion, theres no way they should be aloud to charge anymore than regular ticket price for a cup game but the will. I know for a fact the players will appreciate more or less a full house of bears cheering them on. Were starting to find form an away win at Tannadice would work wonders for everyones morale.

Larky Bear

Agree5 Disagree5

Totally agree a token support at the game, organised and agreed by supporters clubs. They would probably make more noise than their crap support anyway.
Their chairman has been bumping his gums about Rangers recently and how healthy the SPL is without us.
Thompson will be looking for his pay day at our expense, not from me not a penny going to them. PB

Agree3 Disagree6

You either boycott or you dont ... you want half a boycott ?? you cant even organise a boycott without making a pigs ear of it

Agree9 Disagree4

Yeah, Lets boycott but send supporters to the game. You couldn't make it up. Brilliant.

Agree8 Disagree1

Just buy a ticket. No food or drink. No programme or merchandise. Half of the profit on turnstiles will go to Gers surely?

Agree1 Disagree2

Why would you send 5000 to stand outside and sing ,organise to split costs between clubs.. celtic thinking .. send one guy with a really bustin ghetto blaster. job done .. shamrock

Once again the east enders are correct, the world IS against them, particularily the powers that be in scottish football, yet again another fix giving them [as always] a dreadfully difficult draw if they get through the last horror draw.

Who actually runs Scottish SPL, SFA, SFL only asking because the SPL have stated that they have come up with an initiative for a SPL 2 etc but do they have any right to, and what happens if SFL ignore this, will the SFA even allow it to come to fruition , it just comes across that the SPL are attempting to be kingmakers in Scottish football and are attempting to decide for all Scottish fans and clubs.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Don't know the ins and outs, but DJ said on Clyde last night that the proposals including a merging of the governing bodies, so that there would be only one. If nothing else comes out of this farce, that will still be a big step forward. 3 bodies for 42 clubs.....only in Scotland.

TRD {The Ed039's Note - Is DJ back on Clyde? Thought he was a real radio man now)

Agree0 Disagree2

I thought so too, but I'm sure it was him, Hugh Keevins and the guy Gerry that was running the show that night. You've made me doubt myself now, though :(

I am not one for boycotts but I will not be going to Tannadice and I urge all supporters to do the same. In fact I think Rangers should not accept tickets. I believe them to be one of the worst during the troubles this year, both the fans and in particular their chairman.

For years we have been ripped off by them with ticket prices which has gone on being ignored for too long. This
along with the fact that it an SFA tournament is the perfect time to show our true feelings.

Come on Green, make a stance, tell them to stick their tickets up their backsides. Tell them if they don't want us they are not getting our fans money. I will happily donate half the ticket price to Rangers to make up their lost income.

The Rangers will no doubt take up their full allocation at Tannadice because their inabilkity to mobilise and unite behind one cause has been evident time and time again.
Arranging a boycott from the same supporters who sat back and watch their club be liquidated.
Dont make me laugh.

Believable22 Unbelievable13

What could the fans have done to stop liquidation?

Agree4 Disagree9

Another expert smartass and what couldve been done about liquidation nothing..

Shelic fans seem to be doing a good example of it at San Giro Stadium.

...Ha ha..new club old club as long as its called Rangers the tims will still be obsessed...you just keep obsessing and we,ll just keep playing football..enjoy!

Agree9 Disagree8

I dont agree with not being loyal to my club, leave that to the east enders who are boycotting their own club

Agree2 Disagree8

@4: plenty of obsession on here about Celtic and their results and attendances.

Or is it only obsession when it's their fans going on about Rangers' attendances, results, problems etc.?

Barrie McKay was impressive on Sunday.
I will be interested to see how McCoist
handles both him and Templeton now
that Davie is fit again.
I personally would like to see both of them
in the team at once, though two strikers
let alone two wingers in on the pitch
at the same time seems to be beyond
McCoist's tactical comprehension. Both with a
fully fit(!) Kyle would be my preferred
option, especially at Ibrox.

Believable12 Unbelievable6

I would like to see McKay on the right and Temps on the left. Play Little in his best position, centre forward.

Agree4 Disagree3

@1 Never thought about it that way with Little up top sounds a good combination as a forward 3 but sadly not likely to see it happen . I do think Templeton Little or Mckay playing off Big Jig or Kyle will work better than Shiels who is picking the ball up closer to the half way line more times than the knockdowns from the front man.

Agree13 Disagree7

1} spot on .. op dick... forget tv money thats there.. but if you guys dont take your 4/5 thousand all you are doing is taking about fifty grand out of the rangers coffers . it's a cup tie and monies are split.. give up the martyrs stance, nobody cares , just you.. this could be your last chance for about 9 months to see rangers against a BIG team . i hope you win , i want celtic to hump you this season.. shamrock

Agree11 Disagree4

This is a hard one

if there is one team i have no love for (apart from Celtic) its Dundee Utd if i can be sure it would not affect our chance of progressing i would def go for the boycott idea my hearts says go to the game but my head says boycott.

Agree2 Disagree6

Did you hump arbroath

Agree2 Disagree4

@4.."nobody care, just you"...irony, as ever, is lost on the boyze as they continue to opine and postulate about all things 'Gers.....but paradoxically, Shamrock's point is one I agree with...no boycotts, senseless, pointless, we are a Scottish team playing in Scotland, we should be above all this now...and (not that I care) maybe Celtic will beat Spartak, or that will maybe be YOUR last chance of playing a big team for 9 months..

hey guys you gotta read Jim Traynors last colum in the record here's a snip-it its a corker lol

for the last couple of years some of the most bilious types have been allowed to emerge from the shadows and spew invective that sadly became regarded as fact, even though what they were saying and writing wasn't even close to being definitive. Or honest. Overnight all sorts of anonymous bloggers became experts. These champions of decency had all the answers. They knew better than anyone else. They said over and over Rangers would be done for cheating the tax man.

Lochaber Bear

Believable13 Unbelievable9

Seen that lochaber bear, and that was coming from traynor ( a celtic fan) who had working knowledge of what was going on with his fellow journos and others who make a living in that industry, shocking !!
