Selling Morelos and Bringing in Nsame would be excellent business, if we can get anything near 20m for Buff and be able to add 4 quality players we could have a chance! Improving goals in our team and being able to break down teams that sit in, will be key to any success we have this year.

I think if or when we sell Morelos we need to replace him with someone who can score 30 goals a season and also has a proven record in europe, forget dykes, shankland etc! Nsame is the calibre of striker we should be looking at! Just hope We have a bit of ambition and have something up our sleeve when the time comes!

The Muppet, the sun report is totally false regarding us allegedly offering kamberi a 2 year deal, with him knocking us back! Hand on heart one of our trustworthy bloggers contacted our club regarding this and rangers said that it was completely untrue and didn't offer kamberi any 2 year deal. I kinda thought that tbh. He's nowhere near the quality we require and quite obviously gerrard and wilson know that! Like i've said before, IF we had signed kamberi i would have got right behind him, just like i do with all our signings, but i never ever thought he was the answer. He was decent, no more, no less!

Hi guys, I've been reading the posts on here for months and some of you have great banter, so thanks for the laughs. Hopefully I can contribute because I'm the funniest guy I know. Sadly about 99.9% of the rumours on here never come to fruition, perhaps even sadder the players muted aren't even that good. As it's my first post I'll share a few thoughts and then divulge Rangers next big signing in the fashion that many others do. Firstly, Alfie, he isn't world class but I like him, the boy has a great work ethic and always gives the opposing side a sore head, sometimes even literally. I wasn't sure about him in the first few years although I guess it is a talent being able to miss from a yard out. He has however come on massively and I can honestly say that I haven't seen many players who can unsettle a whole back four the way he can, and that has been proved at nearly every level. He is now the main man for goals but again I think what we'll miss most is his willingness to work hard for the team. I like Defoe but sometimes you don't even know he is playing and that can certainly never be said of Alfie. Ok so here what I've heard. It was the summer of 2020, a mild day, perhaps somewhat clamy. I was walking my puggle Leo in a northwesterly direction through higher bishopbriggs. A BMW zb36 (which will be released in 3 years) pulls up on the walk way (we don't call them pavements in bishopbriggs), to my surprise a woman probably in her mid 80s get out and approached me, she said "good sir, do you have a pen I could borrow". I didn't have one so I replied "no, I'm sorry, I don't have one". Here's where it gets interesting, my dog Leo then said "I've got one", I kid you not, he's 7, I didn't even know he could talk. Anyway, we now had the required pen. The woman then said to me "thank you so much, I probably shouldn't be telling you this but the pen is for a precontract agreement which has to be signed and taken to ibrox". I asked who the player was but she couldn't tell me, she was in her 80s remember so she might have forgotten. Anyway, you heard it here first, and I can tell you one thing for sure, this is 10 minutes of your life that you'll never get back 🙂. Have a nice guys and let's hope we stop the ten, take care.

I agree a striker will only score if he’s in the box, Gerrard said he asked Morelos to drop deep and overload the midfield which he did pulling the Aberdeen defence with him allowing for his great through ball for Kent, my problem is we don’t create enough I don’t think Alphie had one chance the whole game, we need more class players that bench wasn’t up to much we need a striker or even two depends on Alphie transfer another midfielder the squad isn’t deep enough a suspension or injury and we’re struggling.

Twacoos is bang on the money as it was a tactical ploy by gerrard to have alfredo coming deep to draw the 2 aberdeen clodhoppers of centre halfs out, which in turn would allow kent as it happened for our goal, to run into the space. So for everyone saying morelos was playing too deep it was because gerrard told him to which is how we got our goal👌👍.

I think Gerrard is trying to have a front 3 like Liverpool, they are like the red arrows going forward and they interchange positions, each of them contributes goals and assists, it basically means that the team doesn't rely too much on one player getting the goals. which in fairness was our problem last season, we were relying too much in Alfie, now if you analyse his games so far this season he is dragging defenders all over the place and trying to set up chances for Kent, hagi, aribo etc, it can only be a good thing,

Morelos will still do a turn for us, i have no doubt about it. when he gets the service he needs he will score. he is happy running at defenders and taking them on but he isn't the one that should be doing that. he is happier taking ball at foot in the box and turning defenders inside out. but he isn't getting the service. so stevie had him pulling the defenders out to let the midfield get forward. its playing in that final 3rd that we aren't great at doing.

Jonathan David is more of an attacking midfielder than an out and out striker. Looking at him from last season he played 24 league games and 14 of them he was the attacking midfielder and not the out and out striker. Lille just made a lot of money I wouldn’t be surprised if they got Jonathan David in and still wanted Morelos as well.

Morning Bears

Wondering what everyone's positives and negatives where for our victory on Saturday.

If anyone played a bit and you couldn't find one negative about your game then your a very very good player.

Positives for me are the lad Balagon had a great game and looks the part. Kent's best game since Braga away and for me man of the match out with his goal. Barasic best delivery of a ball for Rangers for about 15 years . Win and clean sheet.

Negatives didn't manage to get the goal to put the game to bed (Aribo unlucky) Gerrard seems to always play the ball out from the back when I think that can be asking from trouble is it better to mix it up and some times go detect?

Watched a documentary about Pep and his time as Barcelona manager called take the ball pass the ball brilliant if you ever get the chance to watch it. By no means am I comparing us to Barcelona but his idea was the same doesn't matter who they are playing he always wants the ball passed out from the back and never hit long in hope that someone will get onto it . One guy playing in the middle of the park done it Pep took him of and he never played for them again .

the idea is the further the pass the more chance of it going wrong and before you know it its coming back at you with the opposing team pressing you. if you play short controlled passes then it SHOULD be easier to keep control of the game and possession of the ball, all this is good and fine if you have the players who can make and take the pass and in turn pass on to the next attacking player. its the passing in the final 3rd through packed defence we have trouble at and hence being forced wide and putting stray passes at height into the box which all too often are being picked up by the opposition.

{Ed001's Note - by the way that documentary is wrong anyway. Pep himself has said so. He not only has no problem with longer balls but the tactics are actually set around creating space for them. The whole point of the short passing around in close quarters is to draw opponents in closer and creating gaps for longer balls to split the defence open. If the documentary is claiming he doesn't like long balls, then it is complete nonsense done by someone who doesn't understand Pep's tactics that have been explained at length by Pep himself. You can even see it in the training rondos he uses that are online to watch. Draw people in, then ping it over the top.}

Negatives morelos looks overweight and a yard off it. Hasn't been the same player since January. Couldn't kill off the game and created very little chances, aribo very unlucky. Positives we dominated the game possession wise and never looked like we'd concede. Balogun very impressive. Very positive and encouraging start👍.

Ed if you get time watch the documentary. Players who played in the system would suggest other wise. Xavi, Inesta, Puyol, Valdez, Dani Alves .

I remember Eric Abidal specifically saying he wouldn’t get away with playing the way he played at Lyon in the system that Pep had at Barca.

Very impressed and happy with who they are as i'm sure all of our supporters will be! Our new commentary team is the absolute legendary english commentator clive tyldesley and our superb former winger neil mccann 👌👍 Tyldesley is my 2nd favourite commentator of all time behind john 'motto'
motson who i grew up understanding football and loving his commentary on all the big games. So please for tyldesley the way he was ditched there in july, for the new younger upcoming commentator sam matterface originally of talksport. Also over the moon for our very own wee neilly who is a terrific speaker and talks absolute sense 👌👍.

Long time reader, for everyone who says sell Morelos or he isn't interested. Needs off the glue. He's still contracted till 2023, most of our players have biggened up aribo being one. (For those who say he is unfit is laughable) Set the goal up vs sheep, drawn most fouls. I expect Morelos to do better than previous seasons goals/ assists 139GP 85G/ A. roofe, shankland, Maja, Maric, Nsame, toney . all names I've seen on here being rumoured would any of them do better than Morelos I very much doubt.

I’ve never seen a guy who takes so much flack crime his own fans! on Sat Aberdeen man marked him defenders following his every move which tells you something he moved between attack and then midfield which he was instructed to do (listen to Gerrard interview ) for the goal he dragged the central defenders out of position allowing his perfect through ball to put Kent in on goal and a great finish it was, our problem again was we don’t create enough chances I think Alphie has one clear chance all game which was blocked but can you question his work rate I don’t think so, he may be open to a move he’s never hidden that and if he goes I thank him for his contributions and wish him all the luck in the world replacing him will not be easy.
