mcoist is a legend and see when wee win the title oh the fans that doubt him will be eating your words source me 110 percent true
campbell

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ed am really f***ing annoyed with these people who call there self fans a know ally mcoist is gonna do a great job and he will be here for years he is brillant and i dont understand some fans thay say thay want rid off him now but thay wont be saying that at end of season what do you think {Ed025's Note - i think your dead right!...why blame ally?...give him some time..and money, and he will be as good a manager..as he was a player..

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt matter what you ed me or every fan in the world thinks WHYTE does not want Ally as manager its a crying shame the mans a living legend and been a great servant to the club a truer gentleman you could not meet would not be surprised if he went in and told whyte to back him with hard cash or sack him and I for one would not have a bad word to say about him if he did go {Ed025's Note - good post mate..

What has become of Rangers PR this season ?? totally unprofessional by repeatedly publishing player transfer details online & in media outlets.
What happened to keep things inhouse until the player is delivered ?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Aug 2011 23:24:34
While Sally needs to accept reponsibility for tonights result, the majority of the blame must go to Whyte who didn't deliver most of the players targeted

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Totally agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you might want to take a look at whittaker. sold the jerseys in first round sold the jerseys in second round.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope the rest of the lads tell whittaker exactly what they think of him i know i would. fing idiot what did he expect the ref to do ?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 23:24:19
I'm a true blue heart and head but fellow blues have to wake up and be realistic.

Whyte has said the dept has not been payed off as such . He has put a 18 million bond with the bank in which he will pay to them in full if we escape HMRC punishment and do not have to pay any money back.

He will move his 18 million into shares which will push out King as a director as his shares will be worth nothing so whyte will own 100% of Rangers.

He also stated that if HMRC win there case he will take his 18 million back . Which means we will still owe the bank 18 million and HMRC Aprox 50Million.
So thats shows whyte in it for the short time glory or he just wants to make a quick buck as he owns rangers assets now .

Believable6 Unbelievable0

03 Aug 2011 23:21:18
lads i think the ref was an absolute nutter tonight you could easily make a video of all his mistakes the hand ball against papac that hit his shoulder was the last straw. so my point is i am concerned about how many cards we picked up tonight no whittaker for next game (his own stupid fault) mcculoch edu papac jelavic naismith booked its not a verry good start.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You said it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there were more bookings. not a good start at all but gers will be in euroupe after christmas. they looked a lot better 2n.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 23:15:46
This is Bougherra quote:

"We controlled the game well, and we knew we didn't have to rush the goal. We got it from Jelavic but I don't think we had the freshness we needed to complete the win."

Freshness is hard to come by when you are down to 9 men Clown

The rest of the team showed promise and I feel we can do the business this year in the league as well as have a decent Europa League run.

Keep the faith WATP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know all this negativity. the team looked good 2n and imo some of the football and the passing was v good. why dont you haters see this?. malmo were far more match sharp. the game came to soon and whittaker ruined it both legs. after hearts and malmo games i think broadfoot is right give the boy his chance ally.

You can rabbit on about Ally all you like but he is NOT the problem. It's Whyte. When he dumped the old board I put their warnings down to sour grapes. Now I'm not so sure... Even if he signs a crap load of top players tomorrow, he will still have damaged the club. To the tune of £15 mill. Is that him being naive? If so just what is the point of the "vastly experienced" Gordon Smith? I would like to think Ally will have the courage to "out" Whyte in the media if he feels he is dragging the club down

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Supers just glad to have the managers job, whyte knows allys a yes man for the time being, however super will only take so much before having a pop at whyte, supers a rangers man...can whyte honestly say the same?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes in ally we will trust, he will come good

Agree0 Disagree0

But at the end of the day whyte will mantain ally signed a top load of crap players if it goes tits up and he put his trust in ally (being the business man that whyte is) ano its a s**tty deal but the buck will always stop at ally

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 22:58:20
All this talk of Mccoist leaving is ridiculous, if he gets the boot I will be the first one outside ibrox complaining to the idiot they call whyte, this man needs to get a grip The men we need to be looking at leaving the club are bougherra and whittaker.

As far as im concerned bougherra is a liability and whittaker is never worth 25,000 a week, throwing a tantrum and getting sent off = no respect for the jersey

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Whittaker is NO WAY NEAR worth 25000 a week. All hes done in his time at Ibrox is score a good goal against Sporting Lisbon He is a liability at defending... I personally think hes more a right midfielder... however hes only an average one of them too as he looks clumsy most of the times he dribbles the ball Offer him to Bursaspor for 1 million and get him offf the wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 23:04:43
We all know as fellow bears that celebrations are just round the corner as always , its what we expect and what we're used to WATP

Believable1 Unbelievable2

McCoist has been thrown into the lions den and yes he will come out of it with dignity. If Rangers fans are not used to these nights by now, then think about guys like me who had to suffer players like Jim Denny, Wullie Mathieson, Billy Urquhart to name but a few. C, mon guys and gals we are not any great football team at the moment however we are a great club steeped in history as world record holders. This is nothing new as a Rangers fan and if you are feeling bad about our exit from the C/L then your obviously not a true Rangers fan because we hurt when these things happen so remember that. If we are to become successful then we need to let that frustration be aired at Rangers next game, lets get behind Ally as the Rangers support are the people who have made previous managers successful and spare a thought for us guys and gals who suffered during Timothy, s 9 in a row. Give Ally a chance and lets get right behind him as he might just potentially be one of Rangers greatest managers. {Ed025's Note - great post that mate...obviously a true rangers fan..

Agree0 Disagree0

I get the feelin your havin a wee pop at my post and I lived through half of timothys 9iar and every rangers fan has seen bad players no matter what age but at the end of the day there's a lot of true blue staunch bears out ther who never had to deal with that era or legend greig days and their just as good fans as us and if I remember lettin your frustration out at the next game meant a lot of booing from the terracing ( rememba "ally ally get tae fuk") hope am wrong about your post and if so except my apoligies but guys that didn't see the bad old days will turn out to be just as good fans as us {Ed025's Note - not a pop bud....it was a compliment..

Wasnt that long ago we lost to kaunas, do not under estimate teams. Swedish football is not far off the standard of the spl. Especially when they are well into their season. we were not asking for walter to get booted. Rangers have no money.....

Look for young signings for the future and have patience. Rys murphy will sign this week when he comes back. bartley is going on loan to a championship club.

Goodwillie away to blackburn to waste his football career well done to the boy. Hm. he will be at here January of aumner

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Goodwillie will be no more than a squad player in the premiership and will be happy to sit on the bench or in the stand and collect his £20,000 a week this will prove once and for all that he is not worth the money that Blackburn paid for him and if he can stay out of trouble

Celtic lost 2-0 to Swansea- So we have got something to laugh about

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Celtic lost a meaningless friendly 2 0 against a premiership side. We got put out the Champs league and lost at least 10 million. I wont be celebrating too hard.

look if we get the players in there is no reason why we cant go for a long run in the europa league, get to the semis and its worth about 9-10M beaten finalists 20M and you never know we could win it.

Its not the biggest competition to be in. Ally went through this as a player at rangers he will get a rought time as a manager. He will provail>

I am not saying we will win it I am just saying it could be the kick up the arse we needed.

Why oh why could I not have won the Euromillions the other week? I'd have given Rangers £10-£20m solely for bringing in new players, provided I could have a box at Ibrox for life, and a say in how that money is spent Come on Whyte - after that display tonight, buck up your ideas and start spending...All the Ally haters out there, give him a chance, he's still playing with Walter's has-beens and a few chancers from abroad.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2011 22:36:43
Christ listen to you all You would think that the gers had been cl runners up the last 8 years the way all the gers fans are moaning about playing poor in europe.

Im a blue nose but im also right in the head when it comes to knowing what we can and CANT do out of the spl.

Can we all just stop moaning about ally and having no money ect.... And wake up to the fact that all we must do yet again is win the spl to try and build for next year.

i know you ALL know its about the spl again this season so lets all stop pretending we can do anything in europe.

Wrtp

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Basic fact is that Rangers for winning the SPL made approx £3m. Blackpool, relegated from English Premiership made £39m

This is not a rumour Ed. . This is a FACT Ally McCoist is an Absolute LEGEND I cant believe people on here suggesting he should be sacked Ally McCoist ( RANGERS all time top goal scorer 355 goals, 9 league titles, scottish cup medal, 9 league cup medals, European golden boot season 92 & 93) The man is only 4 games into his management Get a grip people Bougherra and especially Whittaker let us down tonight The boys basically played well but 9 men, away from home and No fans to cheer us on was a big ask ( Do the Rangers fans that let the club down with there sectarian nonsense have anything to blame for tonight's result? probably not PFT ) Some fans should look up supporter in the dictionary - adherently back, support, follow their club. ... is everyone entitled to an opinion if we get this sort of reaction Lets get this straight Ally will be judged by the quality of the player he brings in (not how quickly he brings in) at the end of the transfer window and by how well he has done at the end of this season Ally is a F**king legend so get behind the man and his team WATP

Believable5 Unbelievable1

U took the words out my mouth mate - well said - coisty is a f**k'n legend and we should all support him, the man sweat blood for rangers and he will be a success, whyte didn't back him enuf prior to this game and it's bit him on the arse, he needs to invest to secure the title this season and get the automatic CL place, that is THE most important thing now, a run in the Europa can be lucrative also.

Final note - all set the team up great and we played great, whitty and Bougy let him down badly and I hope coisty throws the book at the c**ts show them who's boss

Agree0 Disagree0

What show him a picture of Billy Davies or Jim Jeffries?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 22:22:16
It's maybe not a bad thing us not getting through. Sure, champ league helps with transfers, but I personally don't want ally diving in at the deep end. Champ league next year once he has a years experience in the hot seat. Provided Whyte keeps him

Believable2 Unbelievable2

03 Aug 2011 22:21:59
Does Craig whyte really know anything about football......he may have plenty cash but he knows nothing about buying players etc... Guy is a joke...

The only way to make us gers fans happy is to spend sum good money on quality players...WOR U THINK ED

Believable3 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2011 22:21:42

2 games in Europe and 2 major lapses from Whittaker. Sound familiar. How many Champions League matches has he lost us.
Don't get me wrong I like Whittaker as a footballer, but he is not good enough to play right back in Europe, too many mistakes in positioning, concentration and rushes of blood are costing Rangers crucial goals and 11 men on the pitch.
For the SPL Whittaker is fine. For Europe Broadfoot has proven himself a better defender, and Walter always saw that as the key to progressing in Europe - a strong defence.

Tbh i think we should sign "get your cheque book out" or "show us the money" and show whyte how we feel?

I for one will not be abusing Ally, Whyte on the other hand may have the clubs best interest at heart but he cant just keep coming out with all of these false promises, hes letting himself, the club but US all down. Not on

I think a bit of calming down required all round. This time 3 months ago we were over our heads in debt, no new players and the future looked very bleak.

The debt has gone, there is money to spend and we have a manager at the club who is as passionate as we are. He will get it right, give him some time.

Tonight...........we actually played well, Wallace looks a player, Naisy, Jel and Davis are passing the ball well........so the heart of a really strong team is there. Lets see what the next few weeks bring in players.

Gazza {Ed047's Note - in the midst of tonights madness there have been a few common sense posts. This is one of them.

When will mr white actually spend any money as promised, what is alley mcoist suppost to do with existing team, so much fofor the money that was promised, well mr white put ur money were ur mouth is, u have promised so much, but where is the money, what r we supposed to do with no new sighinings, so what r us fans supposed to believe mr white, go u ally always xx

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Ironically, now is when the spending really starts, because the funds available are more predictable and the fans need silencing over poor performances and criticism of the management/backroom team. Unfortunately Rangers fans will need to forget any ideas of spending reasonable sums of money (>2M) on talented foreign players. The lure of the CL is gone, along with a hefty chunk of the transfer budget.

A number of players will come in, but they won't be the same quality as would've been the case with a CL qualification. Expect mainly Bosman additions, bargains and one or two signings for maybe a couple of million tops.

That was the team that won the leeg last year we should have turned malmo over , oer the 2 legs c'mon

Is there any players left to bid for in our price range ( a couple of irn bru bottles and a signed photo of Ally). We have been told we have money, we will always have money if you don't spend it. Frustrations aside, this is not the time to be negative, we have to hope that after tonight Mr Whyte will sit down with Ally and really get things moving on the player front (and if the money is only generated from the sale of Boughy, then so be it). Ally now knows what is needed, and with the right support he will get it. 4 in a row, don't count us out just yet...

Hey lads and lassies, we are all hurting tonight, we canny blame the ref, who to be fair was inept if he was that good.
Look at the team
Shagger - Lets be honest he has kept us in the tie with some superb saves, beaten by a wonder strike (how is it that its always a wonder strike to knock us out eh)
Shittaker - Well 20+k per week for that tosspot, caused goal against hearts and malmo last week, then lets all be honest he spat the dummy oot and got sent off rightly so, this t**t should not play again as he started the rot tonight,
Boogie - Never a sending off, good luck on ur move, just remember boogie b4 we signed u you were playing reserves at charlton
Papac - Done ok tonight
Wallace - He also done ok and I am looking forward to him running down flanks for a few years
Edu - Done better at right back and great cross for goal
Big Jig - average game and the guy who retaliated should av been red carded
Davis - Missing again, kept wanting to turn inside
Ortiz - Next - no pace but needs time to adjust
Naisy - IMO i thing naisy is better coming from deep, should have had at least 3 goals over the tie
Big Jela - Great goal but had a couple of other sniffs at goal,
So we really are short on numbers at the moment and you only have to look at bench tonight, feel sorry for healy as he would have buried those chances that naisy had last week.
WE NEED TO GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND SUPPORT SUPER ALLY AS WOT A LEGEND THAT GUY IS FOR OUR CLUB.
I agree with another post that mr whyte or whoever is doing the transfer talks need to give ally the support he deserves. FFS reportedly 7 bids for bad cock, f*** him get murphy fae m/well better prospect if you ask me. Sorry ED for long rant lol WATP {Ed047's Note - fine, but I DO blame the ref.

No reason to be critical of Rangers tonight we played well and showed the team spirit of when we are champions 3 times in a row. I'm so glad we're getting £3mil for Bougherra and Whittaker is shocking in Europe. The team didn't let us down, Whittaker & Bougherra did. Europa here we come.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2011 21:54:53
I feel sorry for McCoist. He's been badly let down by Whyte & G Smith or whoever else is involved in the the transfer maket. It should have been painfully obvious that the lack of / late investment in players could easily bring about another Kausus scenario. Now we have it. Potential £15M down the pan. Doesn't seen like astute business practice to me. What are the chances of us buying big with £15M less than we could have had - none. McCoist was right too in believing this tie was winnable but let down by the unprofessionable behaviour of Whittaker and Bougherra plus shocking individual misses near the end. Don't dishonour McCoist, There are others who are culpable here.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2011 21:54:36
The blame has got to lie with the players chaps, not whyte or ally. If these guys can't find the motivation to beat Malmo then you've no chance unless we go and buy another 8 or so players.

One thing gers need is competition, we can't continue with edu Whittaker etc having poor games but being rewarded by playing in the next match they need dropped. Similarly the fringe players need to know that if they try in training then they will get a run in the team. For guys like healy and Wylde what's the point of showing up when the same diddies retain their place.

Above all else we need to stay behind the club, panic suggestions for new board and management at this stage are ridiculous give them time. Dr D

Call yourselves rangers fans Everybodys going on about how bad mccoist has started, i think the players need to step up big time This is the same squad that has won 3 in a row, Wether the manager is mourinho, mccoist or me they players shouldve been able to put that tie to bed.
Our club has only had 14 other managers before mccoist in 138 years, we dont want to start acting like that other lot and start hiring and firing like nobodys business. If walter thinks allys good enough then thats enough for me. And i think the people who have been slating mccoist from the start might eat there words by the end of the season

Right Bears. Now is now the time to criticise McCoist, he is blue to the bone and deserves our backing. He's identified the players he wanted but it's not his fault the owner isn't providing the backing he was promised. The blame for this is at Craig Whyte's door and nobody else. Goodwillie is gone, let that be a lesson learned and make sure we don't make the same mistake with Verhoek and Juhasz. We need them, Ally needs them, the players need them, now Step Up and Pay Mr Whyte. Show us what you're made of.

These 2 x games have come too soon for us. We created enough chances in both games to win the matches.

Super Ally has the rangers in his vains, he knows what it is like to play for the club and now manage the club.

We are a couple of signings away from a good team.

Winger (Templeton or Driver) and a Centre Half (Cuellor, Bartley or Wilson)

Think lot of you fans need to watch the game again as up until Whittaker got sent of we were playing good closing down there defenders in sync in there own box it was brilliant. Never seen rangers play like that. but once you go down a player that tactic goes out the window so plenty positives for me the night.

Super ally I trust {Ed047's Note - agreed. I enjoyed watching Rangers tonight until the ref spoiled it. They got a corner that wasn't a corner. When we cleared the corner a malmo player committed a foul, the ref played on and they scored. You cannot legislate for that

Wrong team, Wrong positions. Wrong Wrong Wrong EDU . . ? Is Ally trying to show White he needs players by his actions (or inactions), or has he bitten off more than he can chew by tacking on the job and not fighting for it by demanding the players he needs now (and not when we are out of Europe all together and so far behind in the league that it wont matter who comes in). Every player we have gone for, we have bid under the opposition bid and then say we have tried to get them, knowing only a fool would accept a lower bid than one already on offer. Mr Whyte knows this and that is his plan to pretend we are in the market (the sale of Boughy will bring in money that will be used to buy cheap players and bolster the squad without Whyte having to open his wallet). There is no warchest and Ally has to go public on what has been going on before HE gets blamed for the lack of acheivements and gets the boot. The supporters must demand to see the colour of Whytes money NOW and not wait in hope of a miracle that will not come (like any player Ally had on his original list), and Ally must have the final say on how it is spent and on who.

please dont discount this but what about jim jeffries for the managers job. hes a very good football manager. he would get the best out of our players like smith did. mcoist much as i love him is too pally with the players. the lack of discipline on the pitch tonight was a joke. several players could have gone off. those guys would not have behaved in that way with smith. ive always regarded whit as a player who gets up and walks away but not tonight. why? answer. he is up his own arse. never been good enough for us {Ed047's Note - I wanted to delete this because it's unfair on our manager who has 4 competitive games under his belt, but I let you have your say as it includes other issues. Please don't back this guy's comment about Jefferies because I will delete the whole topic

Believable2 Unbelievable2

You have got to be joking, never seen such boring football, if mccoist goes and i hope he wont get billy davis in, at least his teams play football. while i am on why not play ortiz on the right where he should be

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't and won't get rid of ally after 4 games. Yeah the railed have not been great. He has been let down badly tonight by two players that think they are world class when actually they are no more than mediocre. The chairman has let him down a bit too. We need players and ally has targets but the chairman has been penny pinching and letting our targets go elsewhere. We need to get behind our team. WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed - what was wrong with the Poster's comment about Jim Jeffries ? JJ has forgot more about football management than McCoist will ever know . {Ed047's Note - McCoist is our manager, support him. What is wrong is that OUR manager has just 4 competitive games under his belt and had we had a stronger ref tonight, McCoist would have been the best manager in Britain according to you and your 'sack McCoist crew. If at the end of the season results show he's not up to it, then sack him. getting another manager to babysit him is as good as saying, Ally you're crap. Incidentally, if i had to choose another, it wouldn't be Jefferies. In all his years at Hearts (twice) and killie, I'd never heard him once praise Rangers after we humped his team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe the negative comments about one of our legends, our manager has only had a handful of games in charge, give him time and get behind the team, i'm sorry to say this but a lot of the comments by our so called fans are disgusting me, i like this site but I wish the twelve year old halfwits would keep their comments to themselves, and yes before someone jumps down my throat about it's your opinion etc, I am merely giving mine.

Well it's all done now we were beaten yes, but not by the better team Uefa want no bigotry in football, I argee it cheapens our glorious club(family)and we are not the only club to suffer this blight. But i could mute the tv I could not mute the endless faining of fouls and injuries of the malmo squad it was stomach turning but yet the refs love it and uefa turn a blind eye to i hhhmm? But the fact is recent form under Walter smith showed we can be a force against the best not the dregs or deluded teams of Europe. Time will tell with whyte and ally but I feel If we had made our bid for goodwillie earlier or one million for miller when he showed last season what he can do in a good team then my fellow bears would not be kicking the cat and bemoaning poor referees decisions but I'm not the owner or the manager just some times I wish the will of the common fan could be whispered to both.. Did we not learn from the first Malmo game. Nine guys running their legs off. Surely Cosity should have changed it.
Also from the first game all the chances made where down the flank and in behind Malmo. Naisy

Patience has now worn out.
If ever there was a club owner guilty of Miss management Whyte is your man.
This fixture has been known for months now and certain persons have sat on their hands and been ineffective.
The desiory bids for players is embarrassing for the name of our club and no one is taking ownership of this problem.
Whether they think a certain player is worth it or not is irrelevant. If the manager wants him get him with no fecking about.
Funny how transfer figures get thrown about when the season tickets are due.
Can't believe we're in the same position again following Kanus.
How could this be allowed to happen, if whoever is attempting to broker these deals needs replacing, i now think the 600k for Bain is reasonable.
I will continue to support my team but don't like being treated like a mug and that is what the powers that be are doing to the support just now, the next few weeks are now make or break for the owner and manager as far as i'm concerned.
I want to know who is going to stear this rudderless ship.

Actually ashamed to see all the negitivity on here its because of people like use rangers have a black mark against its name. 1st ally mccoist needs time to get the players he wants( weather whytes deals are done properly or not) 2nd hes had 4 games in charge granted it could have been better wee played good tonight till that a**ehole got himself sent off. and lastly have a look at people like sir alex ferguson they wanted him out and look what happend there, by no means am a comparin mccoist to fergie but behave yourself if you dont have anything positive to say go and hang yourselfs.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

McCoist will never be no alex ferguson {Ed047's Note - Can you repeat that? My English tutor advises you may have meant McCoist will never be an Alex Ferguson. Very true. He'll always be Ally Mccoist

Agree0 Disagree0

Get steve whittaker to f*ck he is useless and always has been cant belive how much he is on each week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Time to get the players he needs, TIME, get real...
Time is not something we have (unless its time to get put out of europe, and time to fall down the league),
It's not as if we couldn't have had the player required (a few thousand more would have got Miller, a few thousand more would have got Goodwillie), but that would have ment Mr Whyte having to dip into the millions that he promissed Ally to build the team (and we all know it doesn't exist), the fault is not with Ally (YET), but if this continues as it is then it may soon. Fans have a right to express their anger about what is happening at their club, for they have been there long before the forementioned names and will still be there after they have moved on. WE are the ones who own the club (in our hearts, and on our sleeves), Mr Whyte is just paying the rent for a few years. {Ed025's Note - give ally a break...he inherited a poor squad, and is not being given the backing to improve it....rome was not built in 4 weeks...and all that..

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 21:06:38
Hey we're out of Champions league. But the season isn't over yet. Give ally and the boys a break they've played 4 games. Guys like Ortiz need time to fit into the team and with wingers its about confidence so getting on his back isn't gonna help. Ally's still finding his feet so less of this sacking malarky and get behind the boys at the end of the day retaining the championship is priority. WATP {Ed025's Note - at last some sense being spoken, rangers are in transition...give it a bit of time, for gods sake!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Anyone who is calling forAlly's head can not call themself a true Rangers fan. To even have a thought of firing this legend after 4 games is a dsgrace. First and foremost Ally is a Gers fan, one of us He will do his all to continue the success we have had in the last few years. However, I have my doubts he has the full backing from the new owner. My opinion is that Whyte has not gave him his full support knowing that if things dont go well at the begining for Ally that many fans will call for his head and it beomes easy to get rid. If this is true then we cant allow that to happen. We need to stay together and support McCoist with everything we have. If it is going totally t*ts up then Ally will walk as he loves the club and will know himself if he has it or not.
Also, we have to accept that Celtc will win the league again and we have to deal with that. Be is this season or the next, if some of or fans cant handle that then they should follow another sport. In the meantime lets do our club proud and get right behind them. WATP
{Ed047's Note - what a stupid statement - We know Celtic will win the league again.....be it this season or next. Or the one after that or the next one? Of course they'll win the league but anyone with an ounce of common sense will be thinking of this season only and likwise thereafter focusing only on the current campaign. I, for one, believe we will win it this season and this time next year I'm sure I'll feel the same

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont get me wrong, I also think we will win the league this season but if we dont I will deal with it. Many fans cant bear the thought of Celtic winning it that they want McCoist sacked now and some one else brought in, in the hope that this action will seal the deal. All I meant was that we are a club that is going through change from top to bottom, therefore there is a real chance that Celtic may win the league this season due to the amount of change at our club. I hope im wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 21:05:32

Just like to say, for people who are sticking up for craig whyte, he may of paid rangers outta debt but with him paying that money he got himself a massive football club for a bargain its time he paid up for players who deserve to play for the club, if him and his board got on the ball earlier , rangers would have decent team

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Who said that Craig Whyte isn't paying up?? It's maybe McCoist no wanting to pay or Gordon Smith not will to meet demands. Whyte came in and said there was money to spend, we are far too slow at dealing

Agree0 Disagree0

He aint paid the debt mate..its only been moved, instead of rangers being in debt the new owner or rangers is in debt..very strange considering hes a billionaire, multi millionaire, millionaire or venture capitalists...who knows what he is, one things for sure, he aint got serious cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

When will people understand that Craig Whyte has not taken Rangers out of debt. The debt has been transferred to him. Rangers now owe him £18million and if you read the circular he sent out to shareholders he makes it crystal clear that if the tax case goes against Rangers he would consider putting Rangers into administration so that he could get his £18m back from the sale of Rangers assets.

The managers tactics have been unbelievably poor in every game. As for whats going on higher up in Ibrox is just not acceptable for a club of Rangers stature. I thought we were excellent tonight by far the better team with 10 men for the majority of the game but with 9 for the remainder was what finished us in the end. Just to clear this up are we definitely going in to Europa league qualifiers?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Excellent? Are you kidding? We were shocking Against a team of Malmos calibre and you think we were excellent. Shameful {Ed047's Note - unfair. Malmo are not a great team but they're not bad AND they are well into their season. That counts for a lot

I hope Mr Whyte was seriously watching that tonight.
Maybe if your wallet wasn't as tight as a ducks arse we could have brought in the players required to ensure this embarrassment was avoided.
Now you either stump up the necessary funds or go and take yourself elsewhere.
We are a massive club and as fans we deserve far better.

A question for the forum who's to blame ? Do we blame Whyte for lack of money smith for not doing his job whatever that is ( answers on a postcard ) or mccoist IMO it's not one individual but the collective I can understand the frustration from
Fellow gers fans lack activity in the transfer Market all you have to do look at the bench and see the problem that faces ally or a n other rangers need to sign players
Fast In fact this isn't ally's team this is Walters till we sign the right players we can't truly judge ally but and it's only my option I truly believe he should have had enough knowledge to over come an average team in malmo but maybe this is ally's kanus ( and yes I know all one sentence no full stops just in case any smart arses want to dig )

Mc coist has to be given a warchest, this fannying about has to stop. if you feel the player is worth a punt and is integral to your setup then pay the money. Ultimately any players value is only on resale, some you win and some you lose. We have been so naive and watch this space, now any future targets will suddenly cost the same as Messi.

The players that managed to stay on the park deserve a bit of praise. Whittaker should be shown the door. I'm glad bougherra is leaving but is mr whyte now going to spend? I'm not so sure. The team are looking like a spent force. I don't know what happened to the subs etc. Needed to bring on someone, anyone, no depth on the bench. Missed a couple of good chances but ran out of ideas. No cash from the champions league but at least we won't get embarrassed.

03 Aug 2011 20:18:23
So the joys of being a Rangers fan continue. We have a RB who's never been able to defend but gets a great new deal being a complete idiot and getting sent off 20 mins in.
Bougherra flying in without thinking and again seeing red.
A chairman who lies through his teeth about having money to spend then loses out on a £12m windfall cos he doesn't understand the current team was never good enough to go through.
Then finally a manager who thinks that when you need to score with 10 mins to go that putting on only 1 striker is enough Fleck? Healy? Wylde? If we're so skint sell them if you have no intention of using them when they are desperately needed
Absolute joke and we never deserved anything from day one. Incompetent lying chairman an inexperienced manager and a squad lacking youth and quality. League title...no chance. Europa league.....no chance.

To sumarise the upcoming comments:
That performance was not good enough from rangers.
Lack of discipline throughout the side.
Poor desicions sub wise from mccoist.
Hurrendous reffing.
Whyte needs to cough up for a half decent player in any position bar goalkeeper who was excellent.
bougherras off will miss his character but not his play.
Were out the champions league to a pathetic swedish side who were not good and about the standard of st johnstone who we beat comfortably.
Coistys time may be running out.
And finally, Jimmy Durmaz needs mental help as he twice mistaked his shoulder for his head before falling to the floor.

embarrased at that rangers bench dont blame mccoist too much but the discipline should have been better on another night jelavic would have made it 2 0 basically we have no creative players in the heart of our midfield davis is tidy but we rely on him too much and hes not up to it when the going gets tough and edu set up our goal but his body language during a game is a disgrace naismith always chokes when he gets a chance in a important game think we should ask ally to step aside and bring in a solid manager who will demand better in terms of performance and will not stand by and watch these s**tty little bids going in for his main targets sort it now and we will have a successful season

We were badly let down tonight by a handful of players. Whittaker and Bougherra are the obvious ones. Ortiz looks lost playing in that midfield and Naismith had another poor game along with McCulloch and Edu.

McCoist should also have a good hard look at himself because he fails to make subs as and when required. Wylde should have come on for Ortiz eralier in the second have and he should also have went to a back 3 at the start of the second half. Naismith should have been pushed to the right midfield with Wylde left. This would have left us plying 3 - 5 - 1. Not good enough and we have learnt nothing from the Kaunas experience of 3 years ago. Poor poor poor, by most players and coaching staff including the manager.

Where is the changes ? Tactics ?, Ref is crap but he could easily have sent off Edu and Naismith, fault lies at Ally's feet , going to be a long hard season at this rate with players showing no control

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Back to the old walter school there , no changes when you have to score

Agree0 Disagree0

I AGREE NO DISCIPLINE IN THE TEAM WATSOEVER

Agree0 Disagree0

Not at all. Mccoist couldn't do much with the bench we had. Bring on Broadfoot was the only obvious change and to be honest, i don't think he would have had any impact. Arguably, i thikn Healey could have been the man for us tonight once we conceded - bring off naismith, who'd lost his compsure - but i'm not sure if he's fit. We fought well but anyone who's played a full game of football with a man less knows how difficult it is to get that last crucial goal. I kept hoping for a repeat of Lisbon last season but it unfortunately wasn't to be. However, we fought hard and showed we were the better team for 80 minutes... unfortunately that wasn't enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would all stop blaming Ally for this, we were the better team and no thanks to Bougey and Whitts we are out. Bougey knew its his last game and what he done was a disgrace, sell him straight away, 3 million is a great deal for us. Whitts is just stupid and should apoligise to all fans for what he done, please all stop slating Ally, we have never turned a result around after a deafeat at home in the first leg for 55 years, did all other managers get slated and fans wanted them out. Come on guys we are Glasgow Rangers and we do noy have a habit of getting rid of managers, give Coisty time he will come good he knows what the club is all about, whats the words, WE ARE THE PEOPLE AND WE WILL FOLLOW ON.....

Agree0 Disagree0

What the f**k has players own discpline got to do with ally you fool. Again we have negativity amongst the fans. It's people like you who cause unrest between everyone else

Whittikar should be fined after being sent off. Disgraceful

He has been shocking since the start of the season.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I know clubs can fine a few weeks wages... just wish they could rescind the contract all together. He plays well going forward but is a liability even without his reckless behavior. m {Ed047's Note - He contributed to our exit, not for the first time

davis, 3-1 tonight. crouch rumour a load of rubbish, there would be at least 4 premiership teams chasing him and we could never in a million years compete with them. Just beacause redknapp said he liked mccoist and spoke with whyte regarding some loan players doesn't mean we would get the players who would go for a few million on loan. bentley, kranjar, crouch. all utter crap. let's be real murphy, the centre half from anderlecht and verhoek are believable, premiership players like the afore mentioned and barton are(excuse the pun) out of our league

still no confirmation for David Goodwillie. Surely if medical is complete, personal teams agreed and fee has been agreed. what is left? {Ed047's Note - Do I care? I'm sorry we were ever linked with him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Agree ed, , this has become a bloody joke, , we would have liked him playing for us but its not the end of our hopes for this year as the midfield is our biggest problem, , and if we dont get Davis some decent players to help him out then we will be in trouble

Agree0 Disagree0

Like ed i wish we had never been involved, i have said from the start he aint no superstar

Agree0 Disagree0

They way everybodys going on about it you'd think he was lionel bloody messi. i for one can't wait till he signs for blackburn so we can put this debacale behind us. good luck tonight boys.

aye ready {Ed047's Note - my sentiments exactly. So where did you hear about Messi?

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo davis is a class act who the team should be built round and 1 guy who should never be played out of position (so we'll prob play him out of position 2nite) I think mid + defence are bigger problems just now , unless jelavic was to get injured I think we're covered not to bad up front (for now)

Why not make a move for Steed Malbranque, Sunderland want rid of him. Maybe get him pretty cheap. He can play left midfield or centre midfield. Also the are wanting to get rid of two centre backs George McCartney and Nicolas Angeleri. Maybe worth a punt, both played at international level. So maybe worth a look.

Take this with a pinch of salt but it looks like the Goodwillie transfer to Blackburn is OFF Unsure as yet if it is the player's decision but it would seem Blackburn have pulled the plug on the deal after failing to be convinced of the player's desire to play for the club.

Can anyone remeber the last player we bought directly from that shower of p@sh ? I can only go back to Big Duncan Disorderly, they even shafted us over the Richard Gough transfer. Face it, DUNDEE UNITED HATE GLASGOW RANGERS {Ed047's Note - That's a good point. If I remember correctly they refused to sell Gough to us and we bought him via Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely correct ed, I am old enough to remember that saga also. Some of the guys on here just don't realise how much D.utd don't like Rangers, and Ratfink Thompson in particular. Onward and upward Rangers, 2v1 tonight
PS: Remember also the ticket scandal surrounding the postponed game at that muddy midden ? They hate us guy's {Ed047's Note - yes, a colleague reminded me of the ticket scandal. I said all along I didn't believe there was/is an agenda but I'm starting to have serious doubts

regarding the goodwullie saga, i find it amazing that not one bid for him was put in writing, anyone else feel sacking martin bain was a huge mistake by mr whyte?with rangers claiming to have matched blackburns offer and united had no intention of selling to rangers one question remains...how the hell would rangers be privy to what deal was on offer from blackburn?if ally rates him so highly why was the asking price not meet weeks ago...i firmly believe the rangers management team have started to panic already.2-0 rangers win this evening.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Houston and thomson were not shy or slow in letting the press know how much gers bids were for to let everyone know they were short .... the last bid that Dundee utd confirmed we made was 2.6m rangers then imorved that again (thought but not confirmed to be an extra 200, 00 equaling blackburns offer). No team was gonna bid until the rape trial was sorted thats just common sense

Agree0 Disagree0

Surprised no one is bringing up Gordon Smith here. He has been exceptionally quiet through all of these failings? I thought he was now chief negotiator

And very economical with the truth Rangers offered more cash up front than Blackburn but package was slightly lower

Rangers are an embarrassment 7 bids for one player never heard of that before. This wouldn't of happened if th just bid 2mill to start with goodwillie would of been here already. They ask for

Believable1 Unbelievable1

So have you not seen the Fabregas saga; going on for over a year now and (reportedly) 4 or so bids this summer already. This despite Barcelona, again reportedly, knowing Arsenal want in excess of £40 million to even consider letting him go. They have been increasing their bids a little at a time to see when, or if, Arsenal will bite. One of the offers had a payment of between £6-£8 million up front. Does this sound familiar; and would you say Barcelona are therefore an embarassment.

As for the champions league we can forget it. If we get lucky in Malmo there's still another round to go. Its europa league for us and a short Europa league campaign at that.

As for the League its still up for grabs but we need players NOW or Celtic are in danger of running away with this league with Hearts fighting us for 2nd. Get it sorted Whyte before we are out of everything by Christmas

we are now the joke club of not just scottish but world football. we have a tax bill above our heads. a chairman with a tight purse . we have to watch what we say and sing. fifa want rid of us . cant even tempt players over english championship sides ie cardiff , that is sad. we should have offered 2 mil a month ago to utd and goodie would be playing tonight.now we have to hope for a bit of luck . can see us waiting on english making final 25 players , then going for loans from the scraps .very sad. not long ago we had de boer , laudrup , gazza , we now cant get players who could't lace there boots.i will keep the faith
i still think ally would be better of with either big terry butcher or ray wilkins by his side. a win tonight can change a lot. i do fear if we go out. {Ed019's Note - the new regimes been in force for what, 3 months? give it time.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I feel i must respond to that half arsed rant you posted, you talk about players we used to have but if you begin to think about it that was the start of our financial problems.big signings, big wages equals big debt. and for what its worth laudrup superb player but when chelsea came calling he was of like a flash, gazza was well past his best and de boer was always on the treatment table. so the grass is, nt always greener mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know why any gers fan could ever slag Laudrup, in my opinion the greatest signing we ever made, and a true gent {Ed019's Note - i totally agree mate. the best player i have seen at ibrox personally. had his best four years with us. 30 odd goals for a midfielder over that time is exceptional. best foreigner ever to play in the scottish league. he left us at age 30. true blue.

Look bears Goodwillie would have been a fantastic addition to the team and to be honest i'm absolutely gutted he isnt joining but if big Laff is in the form he was in at the end of last season then we will be fine. Of course veryone is frustrated at the length of time negotiations are taking too long but thats not McCoists fault thats the inexperienced boards fault. So ;lets get behind McCoist and give him the best possible chance of becoming a success at as our manager because if anyoine deserves our full vocal support its Super Ally. What do you think ED047?

Billboy1 {Ed019's Note - take it my opinon isnae wanted? haha.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Completely agree. We have to get behind the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Signs are really bad when supporters are looking towards a player of the calibre of Lafferty to save us. Really bad

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ED0019 lol forgot there was a couple Rangers EDS what do you think ED0019?

Billyboy1 {Ed019's Note - haha, was just jokin mate. and spot on, the new regime needs support and time, perhaps even a good few seasons to get us back to the glory days of having a squad capable of puttin the fear into big clubs. ibrox has been far too quiet of late and I for one will be putting the utmost effort into gettin a few pints in before the games and makin as much noise as possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know ED0019 your spot on. The atmosphere towards the end of last season was exceptional loved it. Just hoping we can get it back to that. To the poster who said us relying on Lafferty is bad why? He scored a hat trick on the last day if your memory isnt so short and him and big Jela were unplayable the last 10 games. People need to get off the guys back he is still only 23 and I believe is starting to show some signs of promise.

Billyboy1

Agree0 Disagree0

People can say what they like about lafferty and i was one of his doubters as well but u have to admit one thing the guys has plenty of is BOTTLE... look at his stats in the last 7 games of each season (the business end of the season) and he has been hands down our best player bar none every time...if he can recreate that sorta form from start to finish then sorry but there is no arguement here lafferty should be first pick up with Jelavic every week for me ..... IF tho .... IF

I have no proof whatsoever, however i actually think we may have nicked Goodwillie. Its taking an age for Blackburn to conclude this thing. Ive said many times i dont think hes the answer. Verhoek looks certain to go to Fulham. Doubt we'll get the boy from Anderlecht either. Surprised we havent gone for Joanovic from liverpool. These open negotiations in the press is very amateur, i also feel sadly that that Ally is tactically poor at the moment and that we will go out comfortably tonight. I genuinely hope im wrong.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

See ya timothy .... no self respecting gers man would have to sign off their post saying they genuinely hope they win ....y else would u say that if u werent a tim?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundee Utd rejected our offers and no new bids have been made. Goodwillie was signing shirts last night on ssn.......if he wanted to be a rangers player he would have told Blackburn he wasnt interested in a move. There is a slight stumbling block I think which involves a player that was part of the deal however this player had rejected a move north of the border not confirmed though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking s**te Declan obviously didnt watch first game very poor first half but should have had tie sewn up in second half now jela has hit the net totally diffrent ball game tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Unbelievable, apparently im a Celtic supporter because i accuse Ally of poor tactics and media dealings. I go to approx 15 games a season, before that i had a season ticket Copeland rear q3. I stick by what i say. Papac left midfield aye right

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats what happens on here mate, if you aren't on saying how wonderful things are you get called a tim.just sad pathetic kids that can't discuss real issues in case celtic fans see us talking about the problems at the club.Grow up {Ed019's Note - i agree, we should be grown up and discuss the massive issues. which is ally mccoist hasnt got off to the best start (no-one ever finds it hard taking over as manager, he should have beaten hearts 7-0 and came on the park himself to score against malmo.) and whyte hasnt forked out 300 million for Messi.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 10:23:07
something was discussing with mates last night - all this bidding for players and not getting them has always happened. yes it's a wee bit embarrassing if you care for our great club but thats just the way of things. one thing is other clubs used to take the p*** in the early murray era when they thought we had more money than sense and we paid over the odds sometimes, now other clubs dont know what to think, as we fans dont given big quoted transfer budgets but no evidence. another thing is that its possible without bain that the new regime are acting like novices and might account for why our strike rate is lower than it should be, and another is superally (true legend) has a very admirable tendency to be very honest in the media when other managers might keep some stuff to themsleves - all that does is wind up some fans who expect every target will sign.
Ed- fair comments?
But I have faith and we will have a great season - ally will get us playing great football and we will be a power as we always have been and always will be. {Ed019's Note - i liked martin bain up until I found out how much he was earning during our times of turmoil. good riddance to him. I think Ally is smarter than he lets on. Very calculated. I wouldnt be surprised if theres a couple of new bodies in the door by the end of the window.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wylde on right, Ortiz on Left, Naismith as striker, Edu and McCulloch in CM. Papac at LM or CM.

Yes, every indication that Ally is really smart and a tactical genius...

Embarrassing start to the new regime at ibrox , showing their inexperience . Would also question why heally and kerkar were offered new contracts . Weir has done a good job but this maybe a season too far and to offer Whittaker a position as one of the top paid players in the squad is beyond belief . Mccoist should learn to keep quiet until transfers are complete and would ask why so much of our current transfer business is open knowledge to all ? .

Its official Rangers latest transfer target is roland rat His team have given him a free transfer and he might have a good sell on value
he plays left midfield is creative and
should be great for the dressing
room banter and team spirit he, s
going free ally so if you get back
from malmo just send a ball boy
with a contract and we, ll get him
signed up..maybe safer that way..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I'd rather go for Big Bird. He's alot better in the air. Think he's a Septic fan though.

03 Aug 2011 09:24:06
Farce or not to farce that is th question? Would love young Jamie Murphy to sign for the Gers. Playing alongside Jela would make him even more of a top player. Said we should sign him over Goodwillie anyway, so hopefully we will pursue his signature without dragging our great name through the mud. Dunkie Bear

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I like Murphy myself mate. I'd have preferred Goodwillie because i reckon he's a bit further forward in his development at this point in time but i reckon Murphy has just as much potential and playing alongside big Jelavic would bring him on a treat. Hopefully Whyte has learned a lesson from the Goodwillie scenario and makes a fair offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 09:08:46
Why does everyone think Goodwillie is the answer, also I've been a Rangers fan all my life but look at the facts Rangers are on a disastrous run of just one win 22 games in Europe.
Malmo, Swedish champions 16 times, are unbeaten at home in their last five games. I can't see how people think we will manage this tonight with the squad we have at the moment especially if Edu gets a game and Naismoth keeps missing.
Here's hoping though

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I agree with you , we've not overturned a 1st leg defeat in Europe for 55 years, & I cant honestly see us starting tonight

Although here's hoping

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying that we will win tonight but if you look further into the statistic on not winning in Europe after a first leg home defeat you will see that it has only happened 5 times and that was against AC Milan, Fiorentina, Real Madrid, Ajax and Bayern Munich. Now I am not denigrating Malmo but I would not put them in the same class as these 5 times. Sometimes statistics are used wrongly to prove a point being made.

Agree0 Disagree0

Records are for breaking as Rangers fans we should know this as for Malmo in the second half we should have scored at least 3 they were sharper (in the middle of here season)so unlikely to improve we however have improved never been so confident going into an away game including our 7:2 win Russia £50 at 13/2 be lumping on tonight and only person with tears in their eyes will be my bookie added bonus is Rangers are never more dangerous than when theve been counted out

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 09:07:34
We have wasted too much time trying to buy Goodwillie, the boy is a decent prospect and would prob be a good foil for Jelavic but i feel the time we have been trying to persuade D Utd to accept our offer could have been better spent trying to get other players on board. Verhoek looks like he'll either end up at Fulham or Ajax. McCoist said the most difficult part of transfers is getting to speak to the actual players, he said agents were the problem. At this point we are struggling to speak to agents nevermind players

Lets put the Goodwillie pursuit to bed and admit defeat and move on. Get an 800'000 bid into Motherwell for Murphy, in my opinion he is a better player anyway.

Good luck tonight lads

Bazza Bear

Believable2 Unbelievable0

If Murphy is worth £800k in your opinion, and Goodwillie is worth £2million, why will Motherwell accept such a low offer ? I know the DUtd @rseholes carry a vendetta against us, but at the end of the day........... goodwillie could always say NO, so he actually wants to sign for B/Burn.............Boycott tannadice just the same WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 09:05:09
Finally the longest Scottish running transfer saga is coming to a close, I d just like to wish David Goodwillie well at Blackburn and had it not been for his former shoddy club and the vendetta they hold against us then David would have lived his dream of playing with the champions. It is now time to move on and as it s been reported in various media outlets we eventually matched Blackburns offer of £2.8m for Goodwillie, I really hope that we have learned our lesson and now use the cash freed up for that transfer and pull out all the stops to sign Wesley Verhoek before he to is snapped up elsewhere.

I think its an absolute joke that uefa have blocked goian from tonights game . Would they have done that to a madrid or barcelona I don't think so . {Ed047's Note - well...you'd need to be completely blinkered to not have noticed that the 'superpowers have a hold over UEFA. They were right to punish Rangers over the sectarian singing but there are plenty of clubs who's fans have committed far greater sins and remained unpunished. I would agree that UEFA would have managed to clear new signings for certain other clubs

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Wouldn't buy the Sunday Post either - what would my mum think if she was still alive

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the boycott these teams only fill their stadiums when they play against the old firm so hit them where it hurts most in their pockets. Lets see how disrespectful they are when they are short of cash at the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Total agreement with Tannadice boycott infact Rangers should refuse the ticket allowance. As for mr fixture and fittings Whyte and his priority we must have new kiosks, I dont know why a know a few bears that will boycott them (to be honest a few could do with a salad bar lol) dont want to hurt the team but dont want to line that lowlifes pockets wish other bears would do the same.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

While the Goodwillie saga is disappointing - and rather sad - it's too easy to point fingers. If potential transfers were 'kept quiet' the fans would complain that nothing was happening on the transfer front When we have bids rejected - or hijacked - by other clubs they complain again Get real guys - we can't always get what we want. I would be in the Algarve 24/7 cos that's what I want but it ain't gonna happen Take a step back and let's not develop a 'blame culture' like others we know of.....btw - I think missing out on Craig Conway was a bigger loss than Goodwillie. {Ed047's Note - life goes on.

It's a bit annoying that THEY are being linked with a move for Joey Barton and the bookies have made THEM favourites to sign them.

Barton is actually a Ger and he has been up to watch games with Robbie Fowler and Ricky Hatton in the past.

Hatton once stated:
I have a lot of mates who are footballers, Robbie (Fowler) and Joey (Barton) took me up to watch Rangers as they are big fans, but to be honest I really didn t enjoy the atmosphere at all. It might seem strange coming from me, but the atmosphere was aggressive without being hard if that makes sense. I really didn t understand them at all. I then went with Wayne and Roy a few years back to watch Celtic and it was magic. Their fans were passionate and supportive and gave us a great welcome without getting in our faces all the time. Celtic has a lot in common with City in that they are the people s team of their city and they haven t forgot their roots, a real working class team which does credit to the city they represent .

Who cares what Hatton thinks but more to the point, surely we can push the boat out for once for someone the calibre of Barton? No transfer fee so if he was willing to take say a small hit in wages to £40-50k per week then I don't think it is unreasonable. £25k out of the wage pot and subsidise the rest from the transfer pot. e.g £20k pw x 156 weeks (3 year contract) is around £3m so take that out the transfer pot.

Joey Barton for £3million (to cover extra wages for 3 years) on £25k pw out the wage pot is a total bargain.

Plus he is a GER It's hardly rocket science how Celtic were able to do fund wages for Keane and Bellamy when they paid no loan fees for them.

If he goes to the Timothy's I think this will be a major opportunity missed and also probably give THEM a major a boost for the season.
