No danger is Pardew getting the job or Coleman or anyone from abroad. McInnes is the man he's strong minded and won't take any nonsense either, I think he'll make us much stronger and more aggressive, and difficult to beat. Given time I think McInnes could be a great Rangers manager .

31 Oct 2017 23:07:54
No he won't but sadly I think it's going to be him.

01 Nov 2017 09:20:57
Totally agree Robbie. The guy is sitting a point behind the manks on a fraction of their budget. Mind boggling why some fans don't want him

01 Nov 2017 12:02:50
Mark my words, if we don't get mcinnes then I guarantee we will regret it.

01 Nov 2017 12:27:58
Some of Our own supporters have doomed our new manager before he's even got the job sometimes i think people want us to fail so they can just greet about it

31 Oct 2017 22:30:22
We should make a move for lee Johnston of Bristol City is doing a great job on a low budget played in Scotland so knows the league. We missed a trick not appointing Gary rowett look at the way he has turned derby round if only we had got him in and not Pedro.

01 Nov 2017 10:26:23
Yes I really thought rowett was the man for the job but sadly we didn't get to see him here

31 Oct 2017 21:25:32
I wouldn't fork out anything like 1.5 million for derek mcinnis. Total waste of money.

31 Oct 2017 22:38:14
Teddybear1872,if that's the compensation fee for derek mcinnes and the club want him as our 17th manager, then we have to pay the compo, simple as that mate! If derek mcinnes does become our new manager and i now honestly think he will, then i'll give the guy my full support and backing! We all should! He wasn't my preferred choice but the board can't please everyone! The good thing is derek knows the expectations of the supporters and knows the club, inside out!

31 Oct 2017 23:09:22
I'll give him my full support but am still hopeful it won't be him although it does look likely

01 Nov 2017 09:27:28
Know the club inside out-doubt it very much. Not many will know the club inside out after the last 5 years

01 Nov 2017 10:52:42
I'll rephrase it for you isle of mull, shall I? When i said derek mcinnes knows our club inside out, i meant expectations of our club and our supporters, also the values and traditions of the club, what's expected of him if he has the privilege of becoming our manager! Hope that clears that up for you mate!

31 Oct 2017 15:41:13
Pardew or moyes for me. Both good managers at getting results and players working well with tight budgets, will have great contacts as well. Mcinnes is alright I suppose but not really forward momentum for me. Would weaken aberdeen but we should be looking at closing the gap with the unwashed instead. Murty has got to stay as he knows what's what. I believe that if we can keep the points gap to a minimum by xmas then we can build on what we have, the building blocks are there for a solid team but we really need to be pushing on. not treading water. Only my opinion fellow bears.

31 Oct 2017 16:07:56
Pardew? . wasn't this the manager who was sent off / suspended for headbutting David Meyler Hull and opposition player in 2014?

Quite rightly don't think he will be passing Mark Allen's due diligence investigations. it's a big no from me.

31 Oct 2017 17:26:22
Derek mcinness wouldn't be forward momentum? He would weaken Aberdeen but wouldn't close the gap on celtic? What are Aberdeen behind celtic just now? A single point. But don't let cold hard facts get in the way of your opinion

31 Oct 2017 18:00:22
Am seriously hoping that the lack of media speculation on Moyes might mean that we're letting every man and his dog think it's McInnes we want while sneaking Moyes in under the radar. No disrespect to McInnes but we do need someone a level or two up from him as I feel he's peaked as a manager.

31 Oct 2017 18:56:38
Why do rangers fans think moyes is a better option than McInnis. i think mcinnes is a no brainer. we need to get it right this time and mcinnes knows spfl unlike moyes. also mcinnes has worked wonders on a fraction of what gers would give him. but i suppose we all see things diff. each to their own. I think del mcinnes would do very well at ibrox

31 Oct 2017 19:34:03
He hasn't worked wonders. Warburton would have spanked Delia had Rangers been in the same league

31 Oct 2017 21:38:53
must be moyes

31 Oct 2017 23:14:39
Royster if it’s cold hard facts your after look at point totals each season between Celtic and Aberdeen on final day of the season from when Mcinnes took over till this season you can’t say cold hard facts and pick up on its 1 point Just Now that gap will be much bigger come final day Mcinnes Just doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid 2nd place in a very poor league even before Brenda came and rangers out the league he did nothing of note in Scotland or in Europe

01 Nov 2017 06:53:50
He was just giving him a glasgow kiss

01 Nov 2017 06:48:57
Moyes has only seen Rangers play maybe dos, tres, quatro eh times.

01 Nov 2017 11:16:50
Andy-ns I did like that one 😂

31 Oct 2017 13:46:51
Any thoughts on Tim Sherwood bears?

I suggested him on this before pedro got the job and I still think he's worth looking at

Believes in hard pressing/ attacking football, so wouldn't be a lot of disruption to the way the teams trying to play just now.

Isn't a yes man and not scared to confront players when their not giving it 100% (main reason he was let go by spurs was he tore strips off a lot of the prima donna players publicly who weren't performing)

He's excellent at bringing youth players through and developing them, a lot of the current young spurs players worked with him at the under 21s, and read recently that spurs were going to sell Harry Kane to Leeds just to get him off the books and it was Sherwood who stopped it.

Can he compete with brendan Rodgers tactically? He's done it before, took an inferior Aston villa team to a cup final by beating Rodgers Liverpool team in the semi's, every match report regarding the game states it, he beat him tactically because it certainly wasn't the calibre of players he had at his disposal that did it.

Any thoughts?

31 Oct 2017 14:24:27
Thats actually not a bad shout mate

31 Oct 2017 15:49:55
Better shout than pardew or Stuart mccall that's for sure

01 Nov 2017 14:33:33
Tim Sherwood's record at Aston Villa-
Manager Aston Villa 14 February 2015 to 25 October 2015 played 28 won10 drawn 2 lost16 35.7%

He failed to win any of his last ten games including 6 straight defeats-

Not hard then to see why he has never got another managerial post since then (He was Director of Football at Swindon after this . and guess what? they got relegated! )

Our manager? . never in a month of Sundays.

01 Nov 2017 23:36:49
Same Aston villa team that failed under the 2 managers that came after him and got relegated, says more about the players than tim sherwood tbh. He also had no scouting network of his own at villa, the club assigned some foreign kids with laptops to pick players for him n he was just left to do what he could with them. Since the majority of they players didn't amount to anything and Aston villa are still in the championship it seems a bit stupid trying to tarnish his managerial career based on that.

Yip, he was DOF at Swindon Town, they had already lost 50% of the 23 games they lost all season by the time he joined in November, so again I don't know how that reflects on his managerial skills, he was a DOF, last time I checked they don't pick the team. Also he is close mates with the chairman of Swindon, basically done it as a favour n wasn't even on a contract.

Aye he's not had a managers job since Aston villa but he's not in the same boat as billy Davis, were nobody will go near him with a barge pole. Anytime a premiership or championship job comes up his name is still mentioned as a possible candidate (he was the same odds as brendan Rodgers to be the next arsenal manager, 20/ 1)
Haven't seen many of the undesirables were being linked with linked with any championship jobs let alone premiership jobs (except pardrew, but I don't rate him as a long term manager )

Mc Inness, Mc leish, Mc coist, Wright, Davis, Mc Call etc aren't the way forward

Allerdyce, Gio, De Boer, Coleman, O Neil aren't coming anywere near ibrox

I'm no getting a commission if sherwood comes to Rangers but he seems a good middle ground between the undesirables and the unrealisticals

31 Oct 2017 10:45:06
My thoughts on what we should do Bears, firstly we keep Murty in place till Dec/ Jan.
British Manager!
For me its either McInnes or Wright and if we are not going to bring in someone associated with Rangers or Scottish Footbal I would like to see Coleman!
Can see a Foreign Coach using the adapting to SPFL style Card etc
With McInnes or Wright they are bang up to date with Squad etc. I really do think that big Tommy has a Walter Smith vibe about him and I feel that he really does get the Players he's Coaching to run through brick walls!
He's been at Saints for a fair bit and I'm sure the Compensation wouldn't be an issue. I think the man has done wonders at the Saints and consistently!
So yeah I actually think that big Tommy Wright is our man, McInnes is good but I just get a good feeling about Wright, financially it makes sense AND I definitely do not think that Wright in no way is any less talented!
Definitely NO to going down the route of bringing in a Manager from abroad! Del and Tommy understand just what Rangers are all about.
So Ed why not a wee Poll as I strongly feel like that Wright ticks all the boxes but seems as if he's not in the race?
Who would the Bears like to see coming to Ibrox, Wright or McInnes?

31 Oct 2017 11:26:39
Neither, the club is too big for either of them

31 Oct 2017 12:30:27
Right now the club needs to win and whoever the manager is needs to get it right straight away or the will tarnish there name as a failure within the first 5 games. We could end up with an endless cycle of managers if we don't get it correct.

31 Oct 2017 14:51:06
fod the prod u starting already and we don't even know who the manager is yet lmfao! honestly the people that don't give the managers time are complete and utter halfwits.

id be suprised if people like you don't throw him under the bus after 1 game

31 Oct 2017 16:57:59
Yeah bring coleman in and he can bring gareth bale with him

31 Oct 2017 17:15:29
Peds11 i'm stating the facts, I know you latch onto managers very quickly but the rest of us have a mind. Has 7 years not been enough time. Dry your eyes pedro has gone.

31 Oct 2017 19:40:11
Anybody with half a brain knew Pedro was the wrong appointment. And I hate the old told you so statement. I'd have loved it if he'd got it right big time and proved me wrong. I think he got me with the 'caress the ball' pish that some of the people on here creamed themselves over! I'd like to have seen him trying to tell Souness, Ian Ferguson or Bomber to caress the ball. They would have caressed his balls all right! Utter pish!

01 Nov 2017 06:46:28
First Time Poster here guys.

I see the arguements both for and against McInnes. However, i am leaning more to the side of thinking the job could be too big for him. yes he knows scottish football, but is that enough for gers fans? think about it, ultimately we want to be attracting players worthy of playing for the worlds most successful club if we even want to think about adding to our titles and playing european football. We need someone with proven track record of managing a club in a big league who can deal with pressure. More importantly, we need a manager who is respected worldwide and can attract major players and has many contacts. yet again, think about it, do you think dembele would have went to them had rodgers (a big name) not been in charge? For me, its got to be Pardew or BIG same, i think they would be a great fit for the club and would get the best out of the players (can you see windass whining to them? ) a decent manager is so important just look what rodgers has done with them.

what do you guys think, will the finance be a problem or do you think its time we properly invested in a manager and start thinking like the worlds most successful club?

PS mon the Bayern

31 Oct 2017 10:19:36
Pardew may be the man! . He has the experience of dealing with Newcastle, which could not have been easy . Massive club with Massive support. He done ok with them . We need to stop trying to get a Brenda . We need our own type of manager .

31 Oct 2017 11:09:40
We won't get a brenda no other manager out there has a chance of walking in to a one team league! no wonder he jumped at chance

31 Oct 2017 15:54:10
brenda has dne very well but we won't et a manager that will have it as easy as he did

31 Oct 2017 09:55:33
So the choice is between derek mcinnes or stuart mcall?

31 Oct 2017 12:36:45
Whoever cooked this up just want the rangers fans to put mccall down, they love the sensationalism of fans turning against there own.

31 Oct 2017 15:55:09
why turn against mccall he is a good manager and a legend at the club

31 Oct 2017 09:29:39
No matter who gets the job I would like to see Kevin Thomson on the Coaching Staff.

31 Oct 2017 09:55:41
Can I ask why?
Just curious that's all.

31 Oct 2017 10:05:06
Have to agree his own private kids coaching is getting fantastic reviews and helping out local communities

31 Oct 2017 10:58:45
Id like to see KT in some capacity.1 of my favourite players of the last 10yr and vastly underrated

31 Oct 2017 08:36:26
King is definitely part of the problem! And Mcinnes is not the quality we require. His team when needing to turn up at Celtic have bottled it time after time. Not for me.

King is simply not qualified and his board have no clue in how to support a manager sufficiently. Kings share issue is another embarrassment. However he is here and that's that.

Mess up the next manager and perhaps then we have to ask more questions about this board.

31 Oct 2017 09:23:31
Where do all u experts get this "bottled it" rubbish. They just weren't good enough. There is a difference. if we go to Celtic Park and get beat did we bottle it. naw! . they are just better at this time. simple. Alex Ferguson couldnae take Aberdeen to Celtic and win. Gonnae stop this bottled it p. h!

31 Oct 2017 09:41:34
It's a joke the way some people don't give mcinness the credit he deserves. in squad terms He's driving a Ford escort and Rodgers is driving a Ferrari yet he is only a point behind. with a bit of cash behind him at rangers he'd make a real go of it. Some clueless people on here just opening their mouths and letting there bellies rumble without the faintest idea how difficult it is to do what he's done up at Aberdeen.

31 Oct 2017 10:02:25
Good point Royster. Just a few years before he took over Aberdeen weren't even in the running for a top six place. His win rate is more than double that of Craig Brown and easily more than double Mark McGhee's. The crowds at Pittodrie were going down year after year and they hadn't won anything in decades. So he must have did something right.

I do have some question marks about him but think he's the safe bet. And there's certainly no chance he'll possibly be a disaster like Caxinha.

31 Oct 2017 11:02:05
Good post Dutch. its just a lazy criticism to use the phrase “bottled it”.11 players and a manager simply don't just “bottle it” they got beat because Selik were better. Selik didny “bottle it” against PSG, Bayern and Barcelona they just got beat because they’re playing against better players

31 Oct 2017 12:12:37
People saying no to Mcinnes as his teams haven’t done nothing against Celtic. Neither have we and our budget is probably ten fold. I think he deserves his chance.

01 Nov 2017 12:00:42
All Mcineess needed was a win over tims. He needed to get the monkey off his back. That then led to poor results against huns. If you look at our scouts etc they are people Mcinness can work with. Think conversations have taken place cmon.

31 Oct 2017 08:28:58
i can't believe all this talk about wanting mcinnes. Rangers are far too big for him. He has managed st johnstone, bristol city (sacked bottom of the league) Aberdeen one league cup win. Do our fans forget a poor gers team humped his team 3-0 last season.

We need a manager that has a global appeal and has experience running a club the size of the gers. he should also have the respect in the game that will attract a good standard of player from the uk and Europe.

31 Oct 2017 09:12:11
I absolutely agree with you Uk. however, we have been badly stung in the past in regards to the appointments of for example Le Guen and now with Caixinha. given this context it is fully understandable, then, that there is momentum building amongst some fans in regards to appointing a manager who is perceived to be ' one of our own' ie who knows the traditions and expectations of the club. excepting, I don't think that man should be Mc Innes on the basis of his track record thus far.
Mark Allen is stating that due diligence will be applied to all prospective candidates. if so, I think that Mc Innes will be found wanting in this regard . and it will also hopefully eliminate any left field choice like Caixinha.

31 Oct 2017 07:21:32
Really glad to see scouting system up n running. New manager in then all it's needed is investment. Maybe possible share issue also. Come on gers. Let's see it. That mob has had it so easy, let's see how they cope with bit of pressure from us.

31 Oct 2017 08:59:14
When Billy Davies eas a kid all the big teams in Britain wanted him, especially Man Utd and he waited for Rangers to make there move. He became the youngest ever player to play for Rangers first team. I think John Fleck now holds that record. He would appear to be holding out for Rangers again now. Why has everybody got a downer on him. I think he's a great manager. What is the issue with him.

31 Oct 2017 09:46:54
Billy Davies is everything we don't need. St mirren and kilmarnock knocked him back . Listen to his radio Clyde interview a while back he continually refers to himself as Billy Davies. Anyone who talks about themself in the third person is a bellend. FACT

31 Oct 2017 14:45:54
Am with you royster plus he has a reputation of falling out with boards and causing trouble. he's not managed for 3 years and you believe that is because he’s waiting for the rangers job? come on if he was that good the teams down south would be snapping him up because there is a job up for grabs every 2nd week down there.

31 Oct 2017 15:32:45
He fell out with the Notts Forrest board and tried to take them to court and soue them then there was a touch line incessant were he was pushed and looked for legal advice on that people don't like pussy little grasses like that around in any business that's why no football club wants to touch him now.

01 Nov 2017 06:40:00
Investment from who or where. It's fishy no one is asking where are the audited accounts, and when is the agm. The manager being sacked has created a well timed blue smoke screen.
