Hi Fellow Rangers family members, I do not wish to tell you what you should do, or patronise you.

Many will know I have been vocal on here over my concerns. And alll though like most of you I have had enough of the nonsense. And after the initial disappointment of King & Latham not getting control. I have had a chance to cool off and think with a rational mind so here it is.

Mike Ashley why Rangers? the guys got billions. Rangers is pocket change profit. So I began to think what else could he want. Although I have no time for Easedale and Sommers they both say he wants to help. But you can see it in there eyes that they dying to tell you something they know that we don't. It is almost like excitement and confidence. Then I heard something which makes sense. WWE owner Vince McMahon has already agreed a deal in principal to take Newcastle off his hands at the end of the season. Ashley has to be careful not to burn bridges with the SFA so is having to do things in a roundabout way. Ashley is notorious for "parking his tanks of the lawn" of something he wants but also for making it succesfull.

On looking at things from both side I have decided to let Ashley's reputation speak for him. Things can't get any worse than they are already and we really have nothing to lose. Admin 2 we start again with King, kennedys & Latham. And if Ashley does fund the dominance of Rangers in Scotland again then we will all be happy. So I am staying on the rollercoaster and hoping for the best.

GP was right, never give up. We don't do walking away. If we do now we will always be mocked by you know who.

I want to also say, let's all stop finally pretending we know stock markets and business let's all just get back to being football supporters and getting behind our team ready for SPL return. Its been a tough 3 years but its now only months away.

Follow, Follow.

Admin2 doesn't mean King etc. Liquidation could mean that. Admin would allow the current board and shareholders to continue whilst dumping certain contracts and employees. It would also allow MA to take full control (100%) of Rangers Retail.

Nbts, I can honestly say this post has gave me hope for our future. We might not agree at times but at the end of the day we are united in one thing, The Glasgow Rangers. Splintered we are, we have opinions that are diverse but we must pull together to achieve our goal. That is to see our team go forward and promote the club's reputation in world football. Unfortunately, the financial world is a cut throat business, but leave that in the boardroom and follow our team.
Like yourself I have opinions and still think Ally is a dud, but like yourself I will bite the bullet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy I will wait to see what mr Ashley has to say ie his plans for our club before I make a commitment

Op, good shout mate think we should give MA chance, and believe me i'm as sceptical as the next on what his motives are but something has to give, we are on the bones of our @rse, Ibrox is a shabby reflection of its former self, the football on display ranks on a par to the early 80s and us fans are so fractious we bicker and snipe at each other for having a personal opinion, maybe just maybe MA sees something other than asset strip I do think champions league football is a possibility in the not to distant future but there is always the likelihood that sky TV who pretty much dictate what happens in British football may try to restructure leagues incorporating us and the other crowd and beyond that the ever talked about European league (ok maybe drink taking over a wee bit) As of yet we don't know what he's planning for us let's just pray it's something that will unite us And make us proud to follow our great club. That rumour about wwe has been about since jan. Newcastle have denied any approach from Vince who since the time of the rumour, has lost his billionaire status due to the share price of wwe dropping by $11 at one point. It might have gone up again (not checked), but I'm willing to bet that $11 that he won't be buying NU anytime soon.

If you "have decided to let Ashleys reputation speak for him" then why not have a quick glance at Newcastles equivalent website to this for a true measure of his reputation!

Im not suggesting this to be smug mate it just deeply concerns me the number of like minded people on here who are willing to welcome this character with open arms. We have all manor of high profile names in the media almost on a daily basis now warning the rangers fans about Ashley, the latest being the Wigan chairman today.

We have a heaven sent opportunity to show Ashley and the whole world we want to run our own club by organising a blanket boycott of this semi final. What better way to send out a message of intent to a man who is undoubtedly devoid of even the slightest emotional feeling for our Rangers

Sour grapes by the wigan chairman I think he was quite happy a few year back when his sports company were making a fortune out of Rangers merchandise.

Does not matter which club they always fans who are unhappy with the directors we wanted change we have it maybe not everyones cup of tea but neither was king and as far as it gooes i reckon with king a little to late or deep pockets short arms we must give ashley a chance he makes no bones he wants to make money and fiscally he will run rangers correctly but we must forget boycotts and get behind the club and see where we go

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2014 12:20:29
Here's an idea that won't hurt anyone club or boycotters why not full Ibrox to capacity for next home game this would be good for the club/team then during the game unfurl a banner with "mr ashley tell us your plans for our club and you can have this support " then if his plans are not forthcoming or there not acceptable then go back to protests, boycotts etc there's nothing to lose in doing this & everything to be gained let's give it a go U. o. F & S. o. S

So r.f are you the man to unite the fans? Only jokin pal,its actually a great idea. Its just not going to happen to be honest. The two main groups looking for fan ownership can't even pool their resources.

Agree0 Disagree0

O. M. G. Really.
We have been putting up big banners, placards, red cards, flags, banners, among other things over the last year or so and filled the the ground on many occasions and it produced>>>> nothing.
MA doesn't even come to our games for god sake.
Do we ever learn? boycott all merchandise and all away games. a total boycott of Ibrox may send us over the edge so we have to tread carefully on that one. buy nothing on the hospitality, the catering, or anything that makes others profit and they will soon be arguing amongst each other,, the greed of others will be their own downfall.

gkk GP is a member posting on the financial page. As for all the other points, for me they don't matter now. What now matters is supporting the team and getting ready for the return to the top of Scottish football. Because let's face it we have enough enemies to take our revenge upon than making enemies of each other. Although there are so many fan factions I think we must remember all though we don't agree with the other we all share one common thing we want the best for our club. Time to unite and fill Ibrox and turn it back in to the loud fortress that teams used to fear.

@ Wull 61 time to make your mind up you've just changed your opinion from above @ 10. I've not said ashley has all the answers all I've said is give him a chance and let's hear what his plans are.
r. f

I meant ashley has put money in he will call the shots as he sees fit but i still say he must be given a chance and for clubs sake so must the boycott

I'm in agreement Wull61 all I want is fans to return, give him a go and support the team then if they don't like it well they can go back to what they have been doing.

Wull your contradicting yourself pal, what is it you want?A boycott,AND Ashley to be given a chance? Its got to be one or the other. As I said earlier, we'll need to wait till next home game on a Saturday to see the extent of this boycott.

We've all been through the mill waiting to see what will become of our beloved Rangers. I've blown hot and cold about the various names linked with investment. It is sad that King appears to have failed but one thing about Ashley is that he is a successful businessman. I'm still not sure how he can gain overall control given his undertaking to the SFA but we'll see. On the pitch, my views on McCoist are in line with many other Bears - he isn't very good. However, he has won back-to-back titles and we are second in the Championship and we've knocked out two SPL teams in the League Cup. If we were in the SPL now I think we'd do OK, probably in the top four or five. We'll need to sign three or four good players and bring back some of our talented kids like Barry Mckay. If we draw Celtic in the semi-finals then let's see. I don't think Celtic will relish the prospect at this stage. If we beat Hearts at Tynecastle next month I think we'll go on to win the Championship by 10 points or more.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To be fair to Celtic (honest!) there is nothing for them to gain in playing us at the moment.

If they lose, then it'll be a heavy blow to be beaten by a team in a lower division, and if they win, then everybody will say it was expected anyway, so no big deal.

It's a lose-lose for them to play us at the moment. Would be nice to skelp them, though :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Expat it would be more than good to skelp them

Why are these rangers groups still acting like they speak for us. Its starting to really annoy me. I have no problem with these groups until they start this rubbish. 'RST have made a company to take on MA sportsdirect'. Come on. You guys are a joke.
You don't speak for me.
I am happy with MA and with the way gers fans I know are speaking they are all happy to.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well then you're deluded pal. Mike Ashley may get us to the the top and winning the title yes but it's the cost of that. He's not doing it for us he wants every penny back plus some. We will loose traditions and become a walking billboard. A billionaire owner works in the EPL but not in Scotland you need a supporter

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to admit, i quite liked the red and black stripped top they have out, just seen it in the papers today for 1st time !!!

31 Oct 2014 11:00:34
They are not trying to speak for everyone, they're only giving people another option that's all.I don't think they can seriously hurt Ashley in the pocket with this proposed fanwear range, but their efforts are to be commended.Any profits are to be used to buy shares I believe, that is a good idea surely?

Were not selling our soul, we are walking into the world of football today. Sponsorship is a huge part of that. So what if he renames ibrox. He owns the right to. We finally have a man with money and we don't want him now either? So tell me what do you want? fan ownership? that's never going to happen. DK had his chance and it didn't work out. Before this man has done anything you have assumed the worst and that's that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just so you know bud, and you can check this out for yourself if you are in any doubt as to exactly what Ashley has in mind for Rangers.
When he took over at Newcastle he gave them a so called interest free loan of £130 and was hailed as financial hero by their grateful fan base. In the years prior to his arrival commercial revenue accounted for 45% of all monies coming into the club.
In the 3 years after he took control that percentage dropped like a stone to as low as 15%. Meanwhile his company (Sports Direct) rapidly grew in the same time period.
All pretty boring stuff I know, however bear with me here because heres the peach. Had Newcastles board approached any high street bank at the time and borrowed £130 they would have paid standard interest rates and lost less than what that drop in commercial revenue cost them!
Thats business ma pal, that's how its done. A perfect example of how he works can be found in any one of his shops (was £12 now £8) in reality the item is probably worth £6.
The scary part for us is Mike Ashley has been actively looking for a buyer for Newcastle for over a year now and for one good reason. Their fans have had enough and he and his advisors know they have milked that cow for all its worth. time to move on to the next desperate, success starved, big club looking for a sugar daddy!
Rangers are going to be nothing more than a commercial vehicle for his business so you need to look at the wider picture here which is what the fans groups are doing. Look, nobody likes getting taken for a mug especially when it concerns something so close to the heart as Glasgow Rangers. Surely our recent history must show that we as a support need to be extra carefullthe next people in control at Ibrox are there for the greater good of the club and not simply to line their pockets.
