ally hopes to bring 10 or more players in the summer.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

I hope to win £100m on the lottery, same odds I would think.

Agree17 Disagree12

If Charles Green won £100m on the lottery you can bet not one penny would go into The Rangers.

Agree7 Disagree7

10 players that we can afford, that will play in the bottom league, they are going to be absolute quality!!
Get rid of this person now ffs Green.

Agree4 Disagree2

31 Mar 2013 18:11:18
so we won the league happy days! over the last few weeks the performances have been getting worse with everyone blaming allys crap tactics but look at it from the player point of view they have been dubbed the worst rangers team ever so what motivation have they got I for one wouldn't work my ass off for a boss who has pretty much came out said i'm sh*t at my job! would u?

Believable7 Unbelievable26

The boss pays the wages and should have included the management team as well. However, he should have kept his thoughts to himself.
We must move on but with all the unknown about league structure it must be difficult to plan next season.

Agree5 Disagree12

@1. Why does the league structure make things difficult to plan next season? At worst it's the same division with eight better teams in it. So plan for division two and the bases are covered. This is all nonsense about plans. Green have Ally cash to go through these leagues with the players he has got, why else sanction the stupid wages? One maybe two new faces and that will be that. Ally saying ten is ridiculous and hiding behind a smokescreen.

Agree15 Disagree3

The second highest paid squad in Scotland haven't scored a goal in open play for over 5 hrs in the lowest of the sfl leagues, that's what you need to address and what has to be worrying to supporters of that particular club your manager is under the impression his squad is not strong enough to challange in the next tier. value for money that squad should be challanging for a Euro place not struggling to put 2 passes together. TTTS

Agree24 Disagree3

The squad with by far the biggest player wage bill did not do too well the selfs against a team with a much smaller wage bill. Explain your logic please.

Ozzie Al

Agree4 Disagree5

OP, you may have a point, but it could also work the other way with the players trying to prove the boss wrong or trying to get a move away.
Al

Agree0 Disagree1

@4 St Mirren are a better team than you lot by a country mile, yes we have a much larger wage bill, but these are players that train 5-6 days a week, you play guys who are on the dole and train 4 hours a week with the second highest wage bill 4 divisions below can you explain that?

Agree6 Disagree0

My logic is, 3 divisions and a last 16 in Europe difference. TTTS

Agree3 Disagree0

So by your logic then a team in the third division should be challenging for Europe?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Mar 2013 15:23:00
Ok so we "won" the league, can someone explain to me why McCoist hasn't resigned? he can't possibly truly believe he is doing a good job for Rangers, is he really going to force us into action or will he at long last do the right thing for Rangers?

Believable30 Unbelievable22

There is no chance of Ally resigning. His walking away sound bite would make him a figure of ridicule.

Agree11 Disagree4

Ed can you tell me are we okay for finance next season {The Ed039's Note - Not if we keep spending outwith our means, there is a cash reserve in the bank, this was £21m at the year end but that will have been eaten into and wont last long. The current business model is all wrong)

Agree7 Disagree5

The season ticket increase is the key.

Agree5 Disagree10

I'm just frightened cg and his pals are running us into the ground, then sell ibrox, murray park and cheerio, I really pray that's not the case, tb

Agree7 Disagree4

Ed I have to agree with you, Charles Greens strategy was short term. And now that he's in for a longer haul than he planned, his original plan doesn't seem to fit the purpose. It feels stretched. We need some cool heads on the board for it to work. No big spending PLEASE!

Agree4 Disagree3

@5) A lot of sense in your post, could it be that was the contentious issue between Malcolm Murray and Green?

Unless the losses are reduced dramatically you struggle to see how this can continue through 2014/2015.

Agree6 Disagree1

31 Mar 2013 15:13:13
what do people think, would we take martin oneill as manager of rangers?

Believable9 Unbelievable33

Be realistic, we can't (continue) to throw money at people. We have to get right guys at right price. Basic wage and good bonus for targets achieved.

p. s

O Neill would be too expensive. and would be brave lol

Agree6 Disagree2

Doesn't matter as he would never consider coming anyway.

R1

Agree12 Disagree4

Hes spent 40 mill at sunderland and has been found out

Agree8 Disagree10

The same M O'Neil that's just fired from Sunderland great motivator just what we need.

Agree9 Disagree9

By all accounts his motivational speech before the 6-2 game was something wonderful. Never one to overplay anything that first year "Rangers are the benchmark" etc etc, he met a board member seconds before kick off and was asked how it was going to go and said "We are going to thrash them. "

If you have a manager of that stature next season it will be either miraculous or financially ruinous, take your pick?

Gaz

Agree12 Disagree2

31 Mar 2013 23:22:54
U really cudnt make that last reply up could you, and how did his motovational speech go in the 2nd old firm go gazzy?, erm, did he perhaps say to that same director " we, re going to get pumped 5_1 today?, are u privvy to chats between managers and directors gazzy? ' its a fair question,?, oneil was given a fortune to win in scotland, as was smith, souness, advocaat, and now lennon, it isn't difficult, u usually have one team to beat,, lennon has no team to beat, so he is extremely fortunate, but to tell us about "chats" between manager and director reeks of nonsense, maybe u could tell us of the 2 nd game (5_1) tommyblue

Agree7 Disagree8

Wouldnt touch him with a barge pole. He nearly destroyed aston villa and has sunderland on the brink of relegation. Was quickly found out after leaving scotland

Agree4 Disagree6

Tommyblue its Gaz, three letters, possibly a challenge for you, I'm not sure. Okay the O'Neill quote (that's O'Neill with two L's by the way). After O'Neill left one of the directors told it in a documentary about him, okay does that satisfy your curiosity? If it doesn't I really couldn't care less, once you get proved wrong in our debates you invariably disappear anyway.

As for the 5-1 defeat, how childish, name me one manager who wins, motivates his team every game? Answer, none of them. He won the league by a mile against "the benchmark" that season by the way, who had the stupidity just before the 5-1 game to fork out £12m for Flo, they've arguably been skint ever since.

And as for Lennon, what fortune has he had to spend? More Tommyblue nonsense but then again I'm becoming used to that.

Since you love pouncing on my posts/replies where have your answers been to my last two regards Rangers finances? You've been strangely muted there. I wait for more Tommyblue insight with baited breath.

And if you can't afford me the respect to write Gaz, don't bother at all.

Gaz

Agree8 Disagree1

Been searching for it since I wrote my reply, there is a documentary called Martin O'Neill Man and bhoy, I can't find it on youtube and I don't know if it is from that but ultimately it happened and I heard it but as I say, convincing you isn't that high on my priority list to be honest.

Gaz

Agree3 Disagree1

Why did you go looking for it then?

Agree6 Disagree0

If it can be easily sourced then fine, I'll look for it, the gap between those two posts wasn't too long I think.

Gaz

Agree1 Disagree0

U said you were looking for it since you posted,?. The and said it wasn't a priority,?. , make up your mind GAZ,, why did you consider making a post about one speech and one single game? And yet not want to speak of another gane, u tell us of a magnificent speech, I'm certain danny lenon gave a magnificent speech at hampden, as have a million other bosses, more drivel tb

Ally does what he says on the tin, he said he would win the title for yourselves and he did. Okay the tin contains a warning saying Ally may cause irritation, but he did it. Now I am not saying this as a Celtic fan to wind you all up, but give him a break to me he is a Legend I stuck behind him when he was a player and was going through a bad spell and all the fans at the time wanted rid of him and he came good. You look at the last 2 years he has been kicked from pillar to post but he has been your rallying point, give him some more time, Rangers shouldn't need to spend a fortune to improve the team there are wee gems of players in the lower leagues who you could get and build a team that would be great.

Celtic Fan

Believable17 Unbelievable20

"I stuck behind him when he was a player" And your a celtic fan? Not right surely.

Agree8 Disagree2

What I meant was when my Rangers mates were slagging him off I told them he would come good and he did. Sorry bhoys an Ghirls as a Celtic fan my two favourite Scottish players are Davie Cooper and Ally McCoist, who you support does not mean you cannot like or respect talent of players outside your own club.

Agree9 Disagree3

@2 Sorry your a nutcase. A celtic fan whos two favourite players are Rangers legends? What about all the great celtic players?

Agree11 Disagree1

@3 I agree. On here there's a lot of masquerading. No Celtic fan would by pass Larson or Jinky (just 2 to name, lots to choose from I admit)for any other teams players. Yes you can respect and like other teams players of course but it is odd for your 2 favourites to be from the other 'side'. Both OP and explanation in 2) sound most odd.

Agree6 Disagree0

@3 How can I be a nutcase two player who were fantastic for their club and country, yes I have my favourites at Celtic but why shouldn't I admire Cooper and McCoist. If you look beyond the religious part of the OF you will see and not have such a blinkered view of life.

Agree2 Disagree5

I was stuck behind him in a queue in Greggs. By the time I got served there was nothing left DH

Agree7 Disagree0

@4 I am talking about the Era when I used to go to games and who was playing at that time Jinky was when I was a bairn and Larson was when I was after I stopped going. Yes we had Tommy Burns and alike but I liked these 2 players, why does it seem so strange. I am and will always be a Celtic fan and proud of it.

Agree1 Disagree6

Murdoch, lennox, johnstone, hay, dalglish, mcgrain, nicholas, mcstay, mclair, larsson. to name but a few.
you are a prize d1ck and no celtic fan.
fooling nobody there.

Agree7 Disagree0

N8 out of the players you mention I can see why your fellow supporter thought so much of coisty and cooper

Agree4 Disagree1

@9 What one of them was not better than Mc Coist?
Tam

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Mar 2013 03:30:30
mccoist will give high wages to players just to sit on the bench that ain't the answer youth is the answer no point wasting money when young players could do the job if coached and managed properly we need to invest in our future not 30 year olds mccoist got these players in so think he should ship most out before he gets more of our money to waste

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Ship them where? No club that would be interested would equal the wages they are on. This means to get rid you would need to get a fee to cover the contract pay off. never happen.

Agree9 Disagree4

Yes no one will take the players so looks like charles is going have to pay them off because mccoist wants anew team next season personaly ad pay mccoist and his staff off cause the football is worse than a public park team

Agree3 Disagree0

I have never met a celtic fan who's 2 fav players r ally and cooper, u r not a celtic fan, u r a knob

Agree6 Disagree2

@3 wrong post, but totally agree with what you say! What a tube he is!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeezo, the guy is allowed to have favourite players - give him a break. My Dad was a massive Rangers man, and he always said the best plyer he ever seen was Kenny Dalglish. I don't know anyone anywhere who didn't rate Coop as one of the best in the business, and as for Ally - it has been suggested on here that one of his downsides is that he just tries to be popular and loved by everyone, He neer caused any controversy with Celtic so I don't see why he can't be admired by them (albeit grudgingly lol).

So there we have it even winning the league is a huge let down because another dreadful performance. And where do we find our manager this week. Honduras for what? Sorry Ally you couldn't spot a player if he was standing next to you. bloody Honduras! Get yourself down to Palmerston and ask them for 2 or 3 of their best and then ask what it takes to motivate a team to win the 2nd Division (If their is one) next season And before I go once again the part time Montrose looked fitter and stronger in the last half hour. Ally please do the honourable thing for everybody's sake!

Believable21 Unbelievable10

Ally must stay scottish football just wouldn't be the same without him he's just what smith would have been without murray's cheque book fact congrats on your first title hope you survive long enough to provide us with more of your suberb comedy routine for at least another season
thommyj

Agree16 Disagree10

OP: The days when Rangers can go and pick the best players from other clubs are long gone

Agree5 Disagree1

@2) Even if you just mean their record in the Scottish game I'd say Ferguson still beats Smith, provincial team, European trophy, after winning div 1 with St Mirren too, his legacy there turning them into a good team till the mid 80's, beats Smith hands down but you are correct about Stein.

Agree1 Disagree1

@3 What did he say about Stein?

what a negetive lot you are on this site, Rangers have just won the league, that was always the main target for this season. We will now move on to the next stage of our journey back to the top where we belong. GB72

Believable23 Unbelievable25

Cant you see that moving to the next stage will cost money? The wage bill must be reduced so players have to leave to free wages, who will pay what they are on now?

Agree9 Disagree5

@1 What a weired reply, Rangers will pay the wages for whatever stage we are at.

Agree2 Disagree6

@2: where's the money coming from though?

Agree6 Disagree1

@3: 40,000 season books

Agree0 Disagree4

OP, I've seen your team twice this season and didn't think they looked as if they belonged anywhere than div 3.
Al

Agree1 Disagree0

@5: when you say your team. your not a Rangers fan. Rangers will win the league by 25 or 30 points that's better than a 3rd div side

Agree0 Disagree0

@6. but maybe not better than a second division team.
Al

Winning? How can you win something and it cost the club 1.5 million in bonuses? Winning came with a cheque for 38,000. This is madness. and we know where it is heading.

Believable24 Unbelievable7

Exactly, winning in style is by several goals, with new young talent and making a profit or small sustainable loss.

not with expensive old players with no resale value, and at huge loss

Agree12 Disagree1

facts of the matter cg has been bending the ears of sfl clubs to delay reconstruction in order to move up a league this allows him to up st prices and justify it only revenue stream left for next year as stadium name sold perhaps murray park to be sold and leased back as ally and his 2 amigos are taking best part of 2m out in wages

Believable14 Unbelievable4

Op charlie green has been asking the people that used to have a say why for the first tlme in history is reconstruction being rushed through I hope nought happens cause then we would find out why they tried to rush this through

Agree3 Disagree1

31 Mar 2013 00:08:21
£68,000, that amount mean anything to anyone? That is what the team that wins the Scottish First Division will get this season as prize money, sure there are other rewards as with any Division win but for Division 3, what are we talking therefore? £40,000 at a push?

Don't get me wrong it is the beginning of a journey that needs doing for Rangers obviously. But we are talking about what in bookie terms was an absolute certainty, they practically chased folk off backing it. To anyone with a football brain at all it was all but a foregone conclusion. That is not Rangers fault, you can only beat what is put in front of you but at a club haemorrhaging £1,000,000 a month are bumper bonuses for Ally, Green and others even remotely justifiable?

Someone mentioned earlier £360,000 bonus for Ally, is that true? You can see why he won't quit and guaranteed Green will be loathe to walk the day he sacks Ally (as previously promised) if such huge bonuses are on tap for the next three seasons. Breathtaking financial irresponsibility, this will end worse than Whyte at this rate.

But on the plus side next seasons division title might bring in £50,000, wow where's the champers?

Gaz

Believable23 Unbelievable8

Next years prize money will cover 1 week of players wages lol. Well it might but with ally handling the money for transfers they will be paying for garbage players at SPL wages!

It just get better and better! Can't wait for next years season already! Well that's if they can make it through the off season without dying like the old club they used to support did!

Admin 2 coming your way soon :-)

Agree25 Disagree7

So season won - now what happens to remaining games. is it time for new kids to try out. and sod the results. ?

start building team for next season.

SPl/SPL2 looks on, so sfl could be just 18 teams, and either 9-9 or one big 18 team league with gers only professional team in with 17 semi-prof/part-time teams.

Agree0 Disagree4

If SPL2 happens, you will be "invited" to join. I guarantee it. And wash Scottish Football die a death as the fans of other teams who give blood, sweat and tears to even survive see their teams trampled over again and decide to never return. You cannot keep watching and supporting and giving your hard earned in a system that is so blatantly unfair.
