Kevin Thomson. September. Free.

Believable6 Unbelievable33

I hope not, he was mince the first time round, played in a small square area on the left midfield and never came out of it

JG

Agree8 Disagree10

And?

It's a step back, again. I wasn't his biggest fan when he was here and while not the glory days of old, the midfield doesn't need Thomson right now.

TRD

Agree1 Disagree2

First it was Boyd, then ferguson now it's Thompson. Get a grip. I bit of imagination is required on the free trancfer front not the old brigade who left to pocket more money. Chance to build youthful team that may be worth some money to the club in the future. Time for the old pals act to end.

Keep hearing Celtic are the model club, well why aren't they spending the Millions they have made this season, Cause they are suckers just like us, giving rich people a better life, when will we ever learn.

Believable14 Unbelievable39

That's what a model club is not spending millions just for the sake of, remember Tore Andre flo, enough said!

Agree26 Disagree6

You mean spending millions and forcing the club into Liqudation? Our club is still around so it's a perfect model, so sad to be you I know I know

Agree31 Disagree8

Don't think they are suckers. They're being cautious. I genuinely believe their best chance of qualifying for the CL group stages next season is by winning the competition this year. Therefore they need to be careful with their spending. As next season will be less lucrative.

Agree11 Disagree5

We don't need to spend the millions we make ya rocket! We buy raw talent and sell them for a profit! We leave that irresponsible spending to clubs that have died like the Deady bears.

Briggs

Agree27 Disagree6

Do you think maybe they aren't spending millions is because they don't want to end up like old Rangers? Obviously their boardroom are trying to stick to a business plan to avoid the lessons learnt from oldco's experience. Lets face it, rangers' living outwith their means is now a lesson for all clubs!
Good on celtic for getting a bit of money behind them, (due to CL income mainly)!
But all I hear from rangers' supporters is when are we buying more players? (Obviously after September of course) but the excessive demands of the support for success has pretty much led to their demise! Why are you going to let this happen again?

Agree24 Disagree3

@4 there is a long list of raw talent arriving at Celtic park and leaving by the back door.
But if you want to be known as the club that buys raw talent, makes a profit and only wins a one horse title race, stroll on.
Under achievers!

Agree14 Disagree25

@6 Briggs is a tad blinkered, pity him don't mcok him

Agree2 Disagree1

@5 so the plan was to make a loss of 7.7 million last year, well that went according to plan then

Tribunal over-now the wait for the verdict.
Paddy Malarkey

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Most bears not interested in the verdict, another pointless exercise to appease the unwashed who cried "sporting integrity" and cannot simply accept that the Rangers team that won those leagues and cups were better than our nearest rivals where it mattered, on the pitch!! PB

Agree27 Disagree29

So it's done after 3 days wen they said it would take a week

Agree3 Disagree12

What will be, will be!!

Absolutely no point worrying over something you have no power to influence.

Agree16 Disagree1

It is obvious the east end boys are starting to worry. Why don't they concern themselves with their own problems. e.g the hampden bottle.
Billy B.

Agree13 Disagree23

3) it took three days but the verdict was made months ago, nothing but a witch hunt

Agree14 Disagree22

Ive another name for it the muppet show doug t. s. o

Agree13 Disagree11

@1. ho hum. and you're the same club even though all your players walked for nothing. stop trying to pretend you're not interested. you're like kids with their hands over their ears when you don't like what's being said.

Agree27 Disagree14

Rfc defence was admin error, does not take three days to review that!

Agree2 Disagree0

@8 magic lol
Yeah but I bet they gave it a dam good try! Maybe the legal team boycotted the tribunal with a sit in! What a sad pathetic joke of a club TRFC (definatly not TRIFC lol) have turned into!
But, to be honest I can't see the SPL (because the trophies belong to them) or the SFA doing anything about it though, not whilst their little lapdog mains in power at the SFA, he has certainly been influential in all the very lenient punishments dealt out to rangers (nothing really changes does it)!

Agree0 Disagree0

What ye talking about paddy, the verdict was given months ago

JG

So players didn't need to TUPE over. We all knew that it was obvious logic except for CG and the fans who believed him.

Believable29 Unbelievable11

Was this not just a prelim meeting

Agree4 Disagree14

There appears to be a secondary issue to this SFA finding regarding new clubs rights coming across from old club and SFA not recognising that as possible.
The transfer of a membership to new club didn't automatically bring with it any rights old club had. It's on rangers FC website.

Agree10 Disagree2

@1) no it was a full SFA tribunal finding, as reported.
The players said they didn't need to join Green, their QCs said they didn't need to join Green, the Players Union PFA Scotland said they didn't need to join Green, independent TUPE experts said didn't need to join Green,. etc, and they were all correct. Now the national Association is saying the players didn't need to join Green. Green is still saying they did.

Agree19 Disagree1

Charles Green has messed this up badly.

Well said OP it's time to put this nonsense behind us and support our manager and the team. Ally has always delivered for Rangers as a player "Legend". He has been a magnificent ambassador for the club throughout all the troubles and I would not have wanted anyone else to have had that role. He may not be the finished article as a manager but he"s doing well enough. He's still a relatively inexperienced manager and being asked to do a difficult job with one hand tied behind his back. Give him a chance to fail offs. I would have thought that the majority of anti Ally posts would have been from Rangers haters, I can handle that. However if the abuse is from so called "Bears" then that is pretty grim. If he fails to get successive promotions then that is the time to judge him not now. We have young Inexperienced team with crap centre halves and a transfer embargo. Younger players are notoriously inconsistent. One other point nobody appears to be having a go at ID, not that I'm suggesting they should but he is the first team coach. Funny that?? P. o. b.

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Shiels, Sandaza, Alexander, Black, Wallace, McCulloch, Kyle and Templeton. Add Little, a current international, and it's not so young and inexperienced.

Agree12 Disagree3

McCoist is a rotten manager who needs to go soon. He hasn't got it and his managerial career so far is embarrassing to say the least. Think you will also find that most of the Celtic fans want him to stay and true Rangers fans want him to go

Agree12 Disagree6

31 Jan 2013 15:06:00
Anyone else think that andy little has been terrible since he came back from injury? Looks overweight and lazy! He has scored but so has McCulloch (as much as the big guy is a leader he has been a woeful striker during his career). Little is being played out of position but its his overall play that's a bit worrying. Shiels looks hot and cold as well, reminds me of lovenkrands

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Little should be played through the middle

31 Jan 2013 13:33:41
Oh no Lewis Macleod out for 2 months.

Believable10 Unbelievable10

That's one of the problems of having to play young players whose bodies haven't matured. Worst case scenario is a cereer-ending injury.

Paddy Malarkey

31 Jan 2013 18:13:14
dont be daft, you can get injured at any age. Messi has been playing first team football since he was 17 and he is still going strong :)

Agree5 Disagree4

@2 messi had a lot of injury problems at start of career barca spent a fortune fixing them.

Agree1 Disagree2

I'm sorry for our player but it is part of the game. He will be back and probably stronger than ever. I'm sure Ian Durrant wiil help his recovery. but what I hate is the paddy mob glorying in a young man's injury.

Not a transfer target but heard we have agreed a deal with Puma for 1 season with Sports. Direct being the shirt sponsor {The Ed039's Note - A rumour, thats what these pages used to be about ....... if its true its not far from what I have been hearing, but no great substance to it until I actually see something myself)

Believable3 Unbelievable19

Does sound realistic if i'm honest.

Agree1 Disagree10

Won't be happening I work and have close connections with puma and they don't go near low league and a new club for any kind of sponsorship and certainly not for a year.

Agree11 Disagree10

@2

Probably isn't true, and agree about 1 yr deal being suspect, however, regardless what league Rangers are in, they have a phenomenal support. Are you saying Puma would not be interested in a deal where thousands of replica kits will be sold?

Agree3 Disagree5

Hope this puma deal isn, t another of
charles greens imminent ones of the past of which none came to fruition. jimbo.

Agree3 Disagree0

Ashley invested a lot of money in Puma shares so it could be possible

Green said where in the red, I have been doing my sums and ther is something not adding up I'm not trying too start something here but this needs too be addressed now 30mill gone in 6 months the alarm bells are ringing do your sums and let me know as am I missing something out but this club was debt free in the third div not bought any one got rid of big wage players record breaking crowds and were in the red , no not again I want answers , at this rate we will not be a club this time next year, green I want answers {The Ed039's Note - Where do you get £30 million gone in 6 months from before we go anywhere with this one?)

Believable13 Unbelievable10

Dont include the share money in your £30m estimate I would imagine that won't be seen on paperwork till next financial year.

Agree5 Disagree10

Oh there at it again, can't wait till they get dumped out of scottish cup and they turn there attention to their own team and defunct manager, rather than spout their bile on here, it's coming and so are we.

watp rtid

Agree4 Disagree16

Aye they should go and support their team pathetic attendances at parkhead.

Agree2 Disagree14

Aye your right the next thing will be the ebt decision of course we all know lord nimmo and his clowns are season ticket holders at celtic park tells us everything they are corrupt.

Agree4 Disagree9

We'll be old and wrinky by the time you get here bud lol

Agree5 Disagree2

£22 mill share plus £8 mill st = £30 mill

But no clear all £22 mill share float was cash or £5 mill cash from fans and promises from others.

Also green could mean running at loss with this years non share income, st plus ads plus others

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Feb 2013 00:51:33
What you lot bringing Celtic into this for? You think no rangers fans question where the money has gone? Deluded

Agree4 Disagree1

OP, doing your sums, maybe you should have been practicing your spelling.
I wouldn't put too much weight in the £22 mil share issue. The £5 mil from the fans is probably correct, but the corporate money was the value of the pledges. These may not have all turned into hard cash, but I wouldn't expect Green to disclose this until he really couldn't avoid it.
Al

Agree1 Disagree1

@7 well said! These narrow minded persons tend to think that anything said against their club is only said by Celtic supporters! Fact is, there are a lot of decent gers supporters beginning to question the running of their club and rightly so too! These persons need to get their heads out of the sand and wake up!

OK, chaps. Regarding my previous post I was simply telling you that Ally was going no where. I was not commenting on his ability to do the job. Personally I think he has done ok, but not great, during a trying time for the club. Personally I don't agree with some of his tactics, but I don't think he desrves the slating he has received from some of the 'supporters'. But whether or not you want the gaffer out a job I assure you he is staying put for the foreseeble future.

Believable17 Unbelievable11

I see ally sent jackie macnamara a good luck message. jackie said he gets on well with ally, so at least there is some civility. its also clever ads it helps to change the atmosphere and can only benefit ally on the day.

Believable10 Unbelievable7

If ally doesn't sort out his defence on sat we'll be thumped.

Agree8 Disagree0

I am genuinely worried about the game on Saturday. Utd have been poor this season but have some really good players such as Russell and McKay Steven they could rip our shocking defence apart.

Ed I reed down the page someone saying black put naismith out the game last year, I thought naismith caused his own injury at aberdeen? {The Ed039's Note - He did, I didnt post that one)

Believable8 Unbelievable2

30 Jan 2013 23:26:40
Alright Ed I thought your new kit was being made by Adidas? Did CG not say that he had tied up a deal with Adidas which would make The Rangers their biggest client? I'm sure I read that a few months ago! Also when you say you have a funny feeling sports direct will get the shirt sponsor, do you really mean, that they are the only show in town?

Briggs {The Ed039's Note - What are you asking me for Briggs, do you think I am Charles Green or something? Ask him, as for the only show in town, no I dont think they are, but Green and Ashley seem to be getting REALLY cosy and I dont like it)

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Is it true Ashley bankrolled buying the assets and Ahmed & Green's his front men? {The Ed039's Note - I doubt it, I think his cash flow has been revealed before now)

Agree1 Disagree2

30 Jan 2013 23:05:23
Attention Ally Haters and Baiters-
You should think about a couple of things 1/This year is not like any other year in our History.
2/The superstars that were signed by our most successful manager did not win every game against sides that had a tenth of our budget.
3/Ally has done not one thing wrong-we asked for youth that is what we have with all their flaws and brilliance.
4/Who is a better manager? because if they lose 3 games they to would be for the sack.
5/ Ed 39 yes you might know the Gers and the game of Football however shame on you for not standing by a manager that is delivering what he has been told to deliver and giving timmy hope!!!
6/The only cup we should have had a chance in was the Rams cup put out be QOS the team that are breaking records.
So for the love of Rangers get a grip and set our agendas at the right level we are not an SPL side and we are not the team of the last few years however we are still alive and still fighting and Ally is leading from the front not hiding behind keyboards or anonymity as that would be too easy.

Believable12 Unbelievable32

Why the only cup you stand a chance in is the Ramsden Cup? Your club has professional players on the park every week! And let's not forget that you have the second biggest player wage bill in Scotland! So to say you only stand a chance in the Ramsden cup is an absolute joke! Your club still should be able to reach the latter stages of the other 2 cups! And to use the youth policy as an excuse is just an absolute joke! They have been training in Scotland's best training facility with professional coaches, and to use that as an excuse is just rediculous!
Your team is a premier league team playing in the fourth tier against part timers, you should be wiping the floor with then week in and week out! Ally has to go! He is an absolute joke of a manager!

Agree29 Disagree8

OP are you serious? We have been outplayed by guys on 25 pound a week at times, ally can't change the game when needed, he's signed a load of duds.

Agree25 Disagree2

1) and 2). You seem to forget that we lost a whole team of first team players, e. g. McGregor, Whittaker, Boacnegra, Goain, Naismith, Davis, Lafferty, Jelavic, etc, etc. Only McCulloch and Wallace were in and out of last season's first team. It is great that youngsters like McKay, McLeod, Crawford, Perry, Aird and Hegarty are now in the team. It isn't they who are letting the team down, it is the likes of Black, Sandaza and Kyle. I like Little and Templeton too. Give the kids a chance and maybe for next season we can add a couple more experienced players, but not duds!

Agree5 Disagree10

@3 thank god we lost them players, god knows what kind of debt we would be in now. {The Ed039's Note - It was always the intention that these players would leave when CG took over, he just wanted a transfer fee for them)

Agree2 Disagree2

@1 I take it your a celtic fan who's team struggled to beat Arbroath and then lost the chance of the treble before you say it champions lge your havin a Laff your team bottle it wen they go to Hampden but I suppose you'll still say this has been a great season which it's not getting to last 16 doesn't make up for losing probably the easiest treble you's could have won for sure because the gers will challenge for all cups next season
