I would stop the boycott for the next home game and encourage all fans to attend and achieve a full house to show the board what they could get.
Then if there is no board changes after the recent investments. players sold or clarification of who owns what by who, then we go for a full boycott of all home games, Rangers TV, merchandise etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good shout though hate to give the bar stewards any money to fill there pockets but if that's what it takes to see the back of them well worth it. Think they will have to be pushed not going to do the honourable thing but power base there now to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

The boycott should end here and now to give club some revenue while the logistics of the new shareholders and existing shareholders pan out I was annoyed earlier but from what I am told after aim opens it will be all systems go so let's get all shoulders to the wheel so as we can get through january without losing any more players and get new management team in so come on fill your glasses and charge happy new year to all bears and editorial staff I have had some of my share allready and probably a bit of somebody elses with a chorus of hello hello a guid new year

It would be interesting to pool the Park consortium shares with those held by 'true' Rangers fans and thereby secure as great a percentage of the new share issue. My reading of the new share issue would be that existing share holders have first 'shout' on the issue equivalent to the current amount held by them. Thus the higher the percentage pooling together would maximise their purchase power and thereby the potential control of the club. Should other shareholders reject their option it could be taken up by the Park consortium and pledged backing.
In my opinion this would certainly be a wake up call for the current establishment and, who knows, might just swing overall control.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great shout. I know nothing regarding the ins and outs of shares but I know that the person or group who hold the most shares have control. what I would say is I'm not looking for these guys to bankroll millions into the club, all I want them to do is run the club as a profitable business. also maybe someone could answer these question. if park and his mates eventually get a majority shareholding can they
1. relieve somers and the sleaze dales of their seats on the board.
2. can the change the ridiculous shirt deal with Mike Ashley.
Anyway things looking a bit more promising and I for one will be binning my boycott to give the guys my support. happy new year to all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy b I would wait to see what comes out of the share transfer jist got a funny feeling its not all cut and dried as u think wait to see who turns up owning the shares I don't think ashley is out of the picture close brothers will hold the key to who will control the club

Wull, r u Micky in disguise,? Anyway am I the only person who thinks the Scottish goverment should order an investigation into the Ashley deal with green and open up the entire thing,? They haven't appeared to show the slightest interest in the past, I find that staggering. Considering the importance of Rangers and cellik for that matter to Scottish economy and history,

Agree0 Disagree0

@5. Nothing to do with the Scottish Government and Rangers and Celtic are NOT important to the Scottish economy. They are little companies only

Agree0 Disagree0

StEddy, I think it will be subject to investigation as part of the on-going police investigation of Duff & Phelps. I don't think the Scottish govt. should be involved, although Salmond did show an interest in the Hearts' situation and both Rangers and Celtic are far more influential than the combined impact of the rest of Scottish football added together.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My drink will taste a little bit better tonight, here's to a brighter 2015 for all bears around the world, hope you all have a great new year, but I'm afraid I will have to toe the line at wishing ccccccccccccccccccc (can't even say their name) fans a happy one, couldn't care less about them.

Well done the "three bears" and that's before they invest in January. just wish they could stop the sale of young Macleod.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What does this mean then? Now they are the largest single shareholder can they force out Somers / Easdales through a egm?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2014 14:29:54
Don't know if they could boydy 1 but u would think if somers had anything about him he would resign as he must know he's not wanted especially after scurrying about trying to get alternative investers when there was already an offer on table from "three bears".

Until Ashley is repaid he is still calling the shots. There is still a long way to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done?? Laxey have cut there losses & bailed out!. This doesn't give hope of a new dawn it puts the new 3bears with the massive task of austerity of a grand scale. Big Mick Ashley holds all the aces here, as the IP component & kit sealed, along with the Albion car park & Edm house as back up for his crisis loan hand outs. Even if miraculously we crawl out from this car crash & go onwards & upwards ( I can dream!!) Big M. A can't lose as his hold on all merchandise is water tight for many a years. I' m not pissing on no ones parade here, as have seen a lot of bears, hear ma mates - & online forums thinkingYesssss finally a chink of day light here, just saying what the bottom line is.

Good luck to the Park consortium in their brave bid to gain control of the boardroom. Great first move of buying Laxey shares with no pomp and ceremony. They must get the backing of ALL true fans now.

31 Dec 2014 14:06:16
Billyb:That's the way to conduct business no faffin about,no publicity just put the dough up.Now that is a statement of intent that should get the fans backing.
Do you think they will be able to shift Somers et al and get on the board before next AGM,or call an EGM?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have they bought laxey shares don't see any officilal word from a I m market

Agree0 Disagree0

Further to my post of 5 minutes ago its not I have been told its not park and co what ever consortium it is dinsdale and doug are part of it which beggars belief we could bev stuck with them

So false alarm then BIG WULL?That will teach us to believe newspaper reports.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything I read says it's the three bears and not ease ale or Ashley.

Let's hope so!

Pardew leaving nufc for crystal palace shows you how much he thinks of Ashley. That must be a warning to all of us.

Supposingly it's a "group of wealthy fans" who have bought the shares

Good to see at long last. Bears prepared to actually act rather than just publicity seeking.

Some hope at long last.

Well according to the bbc it's Laxey who have sold 16% of the shares and its not Mike Ashley who has bought them. Did the eaasdales not hold the proxy vote for the laxey shares??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Been told it's 25%

Agree0 Disagree0

They did and they have been bought by park consortium and they actually bought 25 % of total shares in rangers today so easdales proxy vote reduced big time

Agree0 Disagree0

Being the largest shareholders can they force an egm and kick Somers et all out??

Agree0 Disagree0

Heres hoping get it called for monday 5th january, sooner the better the wasters are gone

Agree0 Disagree0

They bought around 16 sorry and taylor already has 3, they hold around 19% with the 6.5 million bail out still on offer as the purchase of these shares don't give the club any money atall

Agree0 Disagree0

Leatham also holds about 4 or 5% of shares I think

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if super ally will pool his shares and become involved

Just wondering what it would take for folk to head back to Ibrox? For me it would be as soon as the 3 bears gain control of the boardroom (that's an if)

I think we should be back supporting and returning money to the club as soon as the people we can trust run it. Some of you saying it won't be enough and waiting for the football to improve are wasting your time. It won't improve unless you give your support. Get Ibrox full and jumping again and then we can move on even if that may be another year in the championship

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everyone of us should return once board room dynamics change in order to try and help stabalise the club, football improvements will have to follow stabalisation which will only happen once board changes and all fans return

Agree0 Disagree0

Boydy mate a think your missing the point we could fill ibrox every week with 50,000 and we wouldn't see a penny invested back into team if anything that co@@ green would have another new race horse bought by us

Agree0 Disagree0

OP well said.

Barrie Mc Kay loan extended so if we are fortunate enough to see the season out we'll have to do it with the detritus that has made a total balls of the first half with the exception of the two or three players deemed good enough to be cherry picked for peanuts this mess just keeps getting bigger nothing would surprise with our club anymore.

I like your optimism, however this fire sale of Lewis, Law and Wallace will condem us to lower league football for atleast another 2 years.

There is so much going on at Rangers these days that it seems everyone has forgot that we have a game in a months time against Celtic!
I am personally dreading it.
I know Celtic are not the team they were a few years ago, but our standard has dropped so much that I fear for us against them. They know this is the one time they have to completely humiliate us.
in terms of a starting line up, this is all dependent on who leaves but I think we should line up 4-5-1.
Hopefully Bell will be back in time as Simonsen is poor at best!
I think we should go for McGregor and Zaliukas in the centre if fit. Wallace at left back if he has not been sold. Right back is a hard one as Foster is terrible, Peralta can play there but he is likely to leave soon, Faure isn't good enough and then McAusland should be back from loan. But we would need to start playing him now at right back so he is close to being ready for the game. So I would go for McAusland at right back.
I then think we should put McCulloch in behind the midfield. He done it under Walter a few years ago and done a good job. He ain't a defender, and it's become clearer as time goes on.
Then I think Hutton should be given a chance in the centre. But it's who he partners that's the issue. The options are Crawford, Peralta, Black and Law. It's a risk putting Black in as the Celtic players will wind him up. Same with Peralta I think. So I think it would be best to go with Law, although I see he has just been linked with a move to huddersfield.
On the sides, the options are aird, McKay, Gallagher, Temps, Smith and Shiels.
I think he will chose Smith on the left and Aird on the right as that's what they have done before as they work back but creatively they are mince.
I would like to see Gallagher and Temps personally. I know everyone is calling for McKay, and I know he will be very good one day but he still doesn't seem to be tracking back enough. And when we are getting over run by Celtic, then he will be exposed.
upfront I think the only options are Miller, Clark and Gallagher. Realistically I think he will go with Miller then bring on Clark with 20 mins to go as Miller will be shattered as all he will be doing is chasing.
it's by no means a dream team but I hope it's enough to not get humiliated.

Really sorry to hear MacLeod is leaving, I hoped he would become a Rangers captain and wait a few more years.

We always hoped that the boycott would push the spivs out sooner so it wouldn't come to a player fire sale but it looks like it's going to come to that.

Hopefully get a penny or two for Mohsni and Peralta. Wallace is likely to be the next one to be sold. Then apart from that there is Law that may raise a couple of quid. The rest are either not worth anything or out of contract in the summer.

Then we will be in the situation everyone wants where youth is given a chance, but we need to ensure we have youth players actually staying! I realise there are other important things going on at Rangers but we have a few youth players contracts up in the summer!!

Also I noticed in one paper that Ally mentioned the players who are out of contract in the summer have been told if they are getting a new contract or not. It's likely it would change under a new manager but I assume this would also effect the players confidence, or lack of confidence which Miller mentioned.

Cheers

It's not going to be pretty mate whatever team gets played on the day,we are simply no where near good enough to face that lot on Feb 1st ,unless we get at least 5 new and decent players in the transfer window which is unlikely to happen more than likely more players will leave in the window leaving us with no option but to call all our loan boys back either way we are not good enough,if nobody else leaves and we set up the team and play the way we have been with no pace or urgency or creative ability then I do fear a humiliation job. it's no looking good mate because we are a complete shambles from top to bottom, happy New year to you and all fellow bears when it comes. hopefully in 2015 all this nonsense will get sorted out once and for all. cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry about the Celtic game mate, it will take care of itself. It takes a bit of getting used to, but if you can't influence anything in life, let it take its course. What's the worst that can happen?. if you are a bloke just remember, they can't make you pregnant.
