N3 was it not buy one take two for free so youve not got any pals that would take you along for free aaaaw

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye right in a years time we will be a team gelled together after a year playing as a unit
Our squad now is good enough to win the championshio now far less next year you have to realise the team is mostly filled with SPFL players and each division they enter they are streets ahead of opposition though it will be tighter in championship the fact we are 30 plus points likely by end of season puts us up around mid SPFL standard

But good luck with your dreams on beating us johnthejag

A good performance last night. I think ally gave them a boot up the backside after the Stranraer game. however I was really impressed by the Dunfermline right back. for a seventeen year old looks to have real quality. this is the players we should be going for. this should have been done last year. cherry pick the best kids from scottish clubs knowing they would get first team experience blended with some senior pros. then by the time we reach the premier league we might just have had a team full of 20 year olds. anyway happy new year to all the bears and a wee special note for us to remember those that never came home on Thursday 43 years ago.

Op I also thought the young guy had a great game for them,

I was at the rangers game 43 years ago when we lost our true blue fans god bless them

Agree0 Disagree0

Young guy looked okay going forward, but was caught out by Macleod who assisted Law for Rangers 3rd goal.
We currently have McAusland who has performed admirably when called upon, so we have young players currently signed who can do a job.
Presently he is on loan at Ayr Utd.

The Dunfermline game confirmed that we need teams having a go at us. Not the bus parked in front of the posts stuff.

It also confirmed that Scottish football needs us back to the top quickly. If we can continue bringing through the Murray Park graduates and they're there on merit we'll hit the SPL on the ground, running. If Ally has his eyes on a couple of youngsters who can add to our firepower up front I hope the CEO will give the green light irrespective of finances. The guy's saved our skins. History will prove his value as the right manager at the right time.

WOULD LIKE TO WISH RANGERS SUPPORTERS EVERYWHERE A HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2014. let's ALL REMEMBER ABSENT FRIENDS ON THURSDAY.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes, All the best in 2014 to all bluenoses at home and abroad. Hopefully the coming year will be another step in our recovery and we can move forward on an even keel.
Billyboy72, you are totally correct, that on the 2nd. we should take time out and remember those that never got home on that cold January day.
It is a day etched in my memory as I think back on leaving the ground not aware of the tragedy that was developing.

Really enjoyed the game last night and the performance of three players in particular. Daly, Aird and Mcleod (in the second half) showing the way ahead with a mix of homegrown youth and experienced pros. Aird finished well with his left foot so I would have him on the left, McLeod and Law in the middle and young Barry McKay on the right. A guid new year to all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post and can't disagree with any of it. Actually thought McLeod looked more hungry than he has been for a while. Perhaps a good bit of management from Ally (finally). Would also agree about giving McKay a run once he returns from his loan. What happened to Templeton though? Injured or dropped?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Official line was he picked up an injury for yesterdays game, I am not convinced, something not right there with that one)

Agree with you that the result and game was enjoyable, however a midfield of Aird, Black, Law, Macleod would be a preferred choice.
Templeton would also be another option on the left, and Macleod on the right
Well done to the team and with the blend of experience and young players we are progressing.
Hopefully the majority of the squad will remain at the club as they will be needed in the seasons ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all posts and there is nothing better than seeing young Rangers players breakthrough in to the team. We have to remember that young players have to be acceptional to break into then stay in the team as it takes more than just ability and physical strength. The biggest demand is the mental strength to return consistent high level performances every week.

This is particularly difficult at cubs like Rangers and Celtic. If you look at all clubs it is very difficult to get young players in to the team and keep them there and performing consistently. Look at Dundee Untied last couple of performances.

I to hope that Barry MacKay can gain the physical and mental strength to get into and stay in the team as he clearly has the ability.

All the best Bears for 2014.

Lets hope that we start to work within our financial means and our youngsters from Murray Park start to get games as the league is won.

WATP.

Its a blend between youth and experience we need as was the case v Dunferlime.
Aird and Crawford were both on the score sheet along with Clark, and Macleod had an assist what more can we ask for?
Excellent performance and result.

A bad week at the office on boxing day, no doubt about that, a poor result and a poor performance to go with it.
What interests me is that within minutes of that result (a draw might I add, not even a loss) this page was full of posts calling for Ally's head with furious people slagging off the team and preaching nothing but doom and gloom about the club they support.
It's now several hours since we had a solid win away to a young and energetic Dunfermline and so far there is no one on here praising it.
I'm not on here complaining, everyone is entitled to their opinions but I feel it does highlight the fact that some fans still judge the current team against the immensely high standards set during the over spending years of 9 in a row.
We are playing in the third tier of Scottish football, there's no point pining for the glory days of De Boer, Numen or Laudrup. As much as it pains me to say it, there's no point even wishing for the likes or Konterman or even Capucho any time soon.
For all of those people screaming for Ally to get the sack, what more do you want on the park? he put together a make shift team in 2 weeks that won is the 3rd division, it wasnt pretty but we got there. This season he has built on that, the team has progressed, the fact we are going into the new year having only dropped 2 points surely proves that. Granted, the transition hasn't been as flawless and easy as some thought but as a team, we are improving. He has only been manager for a couple of years, if we can't give him a couple of years in the lower divisions of scottish football to learn his trade then something really is wrong.
Off field we are screwed, what's happening behind the scenes is doing my head in, i'm sure its the same for the players, management and all the ground staff at ibrox and MP as well. The football is the only relief at the moment, let's not wreck that by moaning and squabbling amongst true supporters as well. Unite against the board but behind the team, its the only way.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Dunc, you mentioned praise for the team and being compared to the immensely high standards set during the over spending years of 9 in a row - for where we are I dont think that is wrong, if you look at the standard of player we have compared to our opposition and the overspending the club is doing, the gap now is actually bigger than in those days, even back in the 90s, Aberdeen were spending the likes of £1m for a Dean Windass so I dont think it is wrong to do that considering the gap in quality and spending in the sides)

Great post I'll praise the team thought it was a very good performance against the team sitting behind us in the league we can only play who is in front of us and so far this season we have done just fine and that includes Ally so get off his back get behind the team and onwards and upwards and a happy new year to all out there

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats my point though ED, would you have hanged the 9 in a row squad for dropping 2 points? we did that many a time, even though we were spending much more money then the rest of the league. The difference is, that back then, we were spending millions to outplay our rivals, now we can't even manage a fee, we, are just paying wadges. Although we are still outspending anyone else, we are still outspending a shoddy league one, not a decent premier division of the 90's. sinc the troubles, we have struggled to come to grips with the fact that we are now a league team and have to fight for the right to boast and smear other teams.
