Banxger, I agree two great goal keepers, but I feel that Alan's distribution has been dodgy the past few games, he could have cost us a goal last Thursday with his sloppy clearances, great shot stopper, but then so is McLaughlin, but his all round game is better (in my opinion only) at this time.

The offside var decision in the West Ham villa game is proving why var is completely ruining football. When they Have to use measuring tools to work out if a goal is offside or not because it’s so tight then I’m sorry a few millimetres does not merit a goal being disallowed. I really do hope we never bring it in up here it’s an absolute farce down south.

Pennyarcade, offside offside no matter what way you look at it but my query about last nights Aston villa game is when var frozrme the shot to see wether it was offside, the defender clearly had his hands wrapped around the striker so yes goal ruled out for offside but obviously the defender was holding the player before he was offside so should have awarded the penalty.

Hi guys as everyone knows a goal is scored when all of the ball is over all of the line, now when VAR is used should the players body not be over all of the line as well when ruled offside, this is just nonsense when a player is deemed off side because his baw hair is over the line its a absulute farce.

Living in the midlands and watching it weekly I have to agree its a farce. I call it VIR video instead of referee, i thought it was to assist referees if they couldn't make a decision, but no, they make a decision in real time and then someone over rules them. I would not want to see it in its present form in Scottish football, i mean offside by the length of someone's big toe is ridiculous!

Yes, the rule says the whole ball should have crossed the line, and the goal line technology is working great, the VAR on offside should be the whole body also, otherwise t he player is level, and therefore onside.

I agree atleast the players feet must be in front of defenders if you be classed as offside! Also agree with the amount of time the officials looked at it they never came to the conclusion it was a penalty is shocking. It was either a penalty or a goal but unfortunately for villa is was neither. It should be used when linesmen could not tell if it was offside or not the fact players don’t even celebrate straight away now awaiting a var decision bores the life out of me.

So since the summer of 2018 when gerrard arrived at rangers Celtic have made an outlay on 13 players. Edouard 9.75, Bayo 2.01, Shved 1.8, Jullien 7.2, klimala 3.6,
Bolingoli 3.01, Soro 2.07, Elhamed 1.62, Taylor 3, Ajeti 4.95, Barkas 4.5, Turnbull 2.75 and Duffy 1.98 loan fee. That’s a total of 47.76 million pounds. Of these 13 players you could make an argument that only edouard and jullien have been a succes so that would mean Celtic have spent 30 million on bang average players who have contributed little to nothing. In contrast we have spent money on 11 players. Goldson 3.06, Barisic 2.2, Katic 2.05, Grezda 1.8, Murphy 1.08, Kent 6.48, Helander 3.51, Edmundson 706k, Roofe 4.5, Hagi 3.15 and Itten 2.7 million at a total of 31.23 million. With the exception of Grezda and Murphy and possibly Edmundson ( who knows if he still has a future at the club) every other player is playing their part in this monumental season and it’s credit to the recruitment team for being able to find players worthy of the jersey that are actually contributing to the cause as opposed to the other side of the city.

Broxi we have had a fair few development fees in there aswell and possibly a couple of our loans may have cost a small fee but 100% on the whole our recruitment has been excellent. The fact we have got rid of a shed load of dead wood. Wilson has been instrumental to this and I believe he has been just as big a signing as Gerrard is. If only we had got him when we first wanted him!

Mcgregor is better at saving shots, has great reflexes and is number 1. McLaughlin is a solid 7/ 10 keeper with better kicking but in tight games when you need a big save I would always rather have Shagger between the sticks.

Sweep, you've suggested booting the ball out of the park SHOULD be the game plan. The game plan is try to keep control of the ball at all times. It won't always work but it's worked reasonably well so far this season. 🤷🏼♂️.

McGregor remains a very good keeper but is now vulnerable and much slower to get down to low shots. Also the tactics we play now requires the keeper to be more than competent with ball at feet.

Now, I'm not saying they are the best in the UK in their position individually, that's not where I'm going with this. I think the point about not wishing to pay for Premier Sports is that some (including me) already pay for Sky Sports, Netflix and Amazon Prime and have no wish to pay for anymore services. I don't know who or what IPTV is but I'm sceltical about signing up to services which are perhaps not 'legal'. Anyway, I don't have to worry because if I miss the odd game on TV I can get great feedback by visiting Rangers Banter!

Good, very professional performance against falkirk yesterday 👍 Again our two full backs were superb and the evergreen (pardon the pun) jermain defoe were the picks, although the full team played well 👌For any young upcoming striker should be studying how defoe goes about his business with his movement, the shape he's in, even at 38 years old now and his finishing ability 👌
Defoe's finish for our first goal yesterday was an exceptional finish from a true master of his trade 👌What technique and the only place he could have put the ball, the wee man put it! As far as i'm concerned defoe most definitely should get a new 1 year deal and i truly think he will and no wonder 👍
He's brilliant to have around the place and can also be called upon from the bench at anytime and starts in a good few of our cup games and league games against the lesser teams as such!

Blue robb agree re Dickson. Many like 6 counties come on here and moan about academy players not getting a game.
However the harsh reality was they simply were not the standard required, ie Houston, ridden, Dallas et al.
But now we see players like Robbie mccrorie, Kelly playing on loan in Pl. we see Patterson on periphery of first team.
Mayo, maxwell Wright doing very well on loan.
Dickson, Middleton, king, only 16 getting a taste yesterday.
The manager saying how they r not ready but now need to work even harder.
The academy is improving but we need to be patient.
