I posted a question on here a week or two ago about ally leaving after the league was won, got roughly 150 yes votes and 150 no votes so I want to ask again, now the league is won, bearing in mind the performances recently and everything we need to plan for in the future. IS ALLY THR MAN TO TAKE US BACK TO THE TOP? IF YOU THINK HE HIS THE MAN FOR THE JOB PRESS BELIEVABLE, IF YOU THINK SOMEONE ELSE CAN DO A BETTER JOB PRESS UNBELIEVABLE.

Really hope CG reads this site, because here is a message /fact if he does not change Ally and others he will see attendances and his share value dramatically reduced. There is a limit to the dross that we will pay for, and that limit has been reached.
Believable30
Unbelievable12
Doubt he'll be reading it tonight. He'll be sat back with a malt & a cigar celebrating.
The fact that he's just earned a £360,000 bonus.

You'll probably find he's punted a good few of his shares when the prices were high.

Players run thiers guts out and can make £1million in 4 years at ibrox, while Green sits in his chair, and gets £4million in salary for 4 years (+ bonuses). no wonder its his pension.
And he still owns 8% of shares. which may be worth nothing or £10m
green laughing all the way to the bank, I think ticketus have security on ibrox deeds. once that's paid off, green gets ibrox (£30 million). payoff
but what do I know.

30 Mar 2013 21:41:36
mccoist says he is in need of players this is worying as it sounds to me he just wants cover to sit on the bench and pick up a wage all he goes on about is we are short of bodies always excuses for the bad results never improvment after bad results we need a new midfield new defence and goalkeeper apart from wallace big lee lewis macleod little mackay aird temps they are the only players worth keeping and start playing 2 attackers if mccoist can't see this then he wants to quit we are sick of his excuses
Believable10
Unbelievable5
We DO need player, and we ARE short of bodies
what exactly would you like him to do?
McCulloch moves to CB and we stop losing goals, you want to move him back up top?
Wallace and Temps are for want of a better word our star players, so everything predictably goes down the left
Because of that Crawford and then McKay couldn't have any impact
Hemmings was abandoned up front on his own, can't fault him for not getting chances
Naismith when he came on looked like all he wanted to do was run into defenders
Most of those problems are what happens when young players haven't learned to make the right decisions, which goes towards the absolute fact that a team full of kids would not have won us the league
You mention 2 attackers but like I've said before you then sacrifice a body in the middle, and that's assuming you have another attacker to pick, leaving a very dodgy defence with a bigger hole infront of it
I'm not defending the results or the performance, it's not acceptable, but it's pretty basic tactics we're talking about here
With the squad we currently have it's the best outcome we can look for under the circumstances
I think it's worth reminding ourselves of that outcome, we've won the league in before Easter, we should be sticking together and preparing to overhaul the squad for next season
Agree7
Disagree16
@1. Overhaul the squad? I don't think that will happen. I can't Mr Green paying more money in wages, Boca and Goian back soon as well. Will they play? The increase in season tickets has to happen it was in the share prospectus, so a bit of cash there but that's it I think.

What a load of bull. t.
Sally is an absolute diddy of a manager. He stands with his hands in pocket or folded, Mcdowall stands with a Clipboard stuck to his hand & as for Durrant - He looks as if he's selling the big issue on a street corner.

Simple fact is. You can't defend results or performances!
under mcoist, rangers are absolute garbage and there's no getting away from it.
we are playing against part-time players and are being shown up for what we are. total mince!
im sick of hearing about our youngsters and lack of players, a team from my local boozer could win that league after a night on the sauce,
mcoist needs chased all the way down edminston drive with his two little buddies behind him and get a decent manager in with some tactical awareness instead of playing 4-5-1 against plumbers, joiners etc,
everyones laughing at us and the feel good factor has long since gone, it's time ally and his sidekicks did the same.
Agree10

Black was the go-to man today but except for a few long balls he just pushed the ball sideways or backwards to someone in a similar position - created nothing. He just won't do. Please somebody, do something. And can I ask, what is Ian Durrant's position at the club? Coach?

Believable26
Unbelievable10
It is getting ridiculous. Both Boyd and Daly have no sell on value at all. This is the wrong road to go down. If they go on three year deals at £3k p/w, a low estimate, that's close to £1m pounds out the door before bonus etc.
Agree18

Will McCoist be out celebrating tonight? No doubt but how can we after another shambles today. Doesn't feel like a league win at all. We didn't deserve to get a draw today and were outplayed again. No point in calling for him to go as no one listens to us. He looked his cheery self on telly today with the usual phrases coming out. Just doesn't seem the desire there somehow. If it is there, he hids it well.

Ally quoted that we weren't chasing domestic cups this season. So why would you go and sign the likes of
Black
Sandaza
Temps
Shiels
Wallace
Alexander
Could have got a decent team together from the lower divisions that wouldn't even have cost half the wage bill they are. Wallace and big jig is are the only ones I have seen this season that deserves to wear the jersey.
Can't even put 2 passes together.

Durrant. Doesn't look interested

No sure who you have been watching then because Andy Little has had a great a season. Lewis McLeod was playing well to until he was injured. Although Templeton hasn't been the most consistent he has scored quite a few important goals. I think the squad as a whole would do better if they were coached properly. {The Ed039's Note - There were people slating Andy Little earlier in the week, I think he has been our best player and he is sorely missed when he is unavailable which has been too often for my liking, and Lewis McLeod has also been a big miss since he got injured)

Ed could you shed any light on the neil murray situation. The investigation aside, this guy simply hasn't cut it as a scout and the sooner we are shot of him the better. Charles green is fully aware of the flaws in rangers youth/scouting structure and the announcement of the likes of tommy wilson departing doesn't come as much of a surprise! personally I wish he was bold enough to get shot of ally, durrant and mcdowall. {The Ed039's Note - There are a few rumours going about of him being a naughty boy in regards to the signings made last summer, it will come out in the wash soon enough)

Ed, I know it's all over and done with but I've always been surprised that the Singaporeans didn't make any noise at all regarding their £26.5m vanishing without any repayment. (Ticketus). They could have got a court order to stop D&P selling the assets for £5.5m (curiously similar figure to the D&P fees).
But they didn't do a thing. These guys just don't walk away from losing money like that. Did we ever find out who blue pitch holdings were?
And what was Lloyd's part in it all? They got their £18m and walked away, albeit to still manage Murray group, being owed huge sums of money (£400m?) from the masterton BoS giveaway days. {The Ed039's Note - Its a strange one, last I heard they were going to chase Whyte through the courts as he had made personal guarantees against this money. But at the end of the day the company they took that out with has been liquidated and sold and there isnt really anything they can do about it apart from negotiating with the liquidators)
Believable6

It was stated that Whyte had guaranteed money, and they are taking him to court. What will come out of this is that Whyte will end up bankrupt, what a shame that would be.

My guess is whyte hold security over ibrox (hence why green won't show deeds) and if ticketus win - whyte will hand over that security on ibrox.
If whyte wins case he wins £30m, if he loses so what. no loose gamble which costs him £2. with our legal system its 50-50 he might wint £30m of lose £2.
if you in his position would you go for it win odds like that?
Same for ticketus - 50-50 they win deeds to ibrox. for thier original £22 million punt.

The pundits were on ESPN before the game saying that if it becomes SPL 2 that Rangers will be invited to join.
Where are they getting this from?
Has this been mentioned by anyone?
From what I have read there seems to be no appetite to do that. How could they do that? What happens to QOS?
There is talk we will take Dunfermlines place, but until they go into liquidation there is no place to take, again though why would we be offered the place, I am sure all those in div two would be delighted.
Believable5

SPL 2 would be via invite. I think they could actually cherry pick what teams they wanted if they want. It's up to clubs wether they accept or not.
Agree4

Would Green accept though? He has asked the sfl clubs not to vote for the reconstruction and it looks like they have done so. It would then be poor if he deserted them and went into the SPL 2. Bereft for Rangers to go into Div 2 and support the clubs who supported us through the reconstruction vote

Also why do we need three defensive midfielders? We really miss MacLeod in that midfield. What a load of crap!!!!! We are one game away to win the league and yet the players play like they have never played with each other before. What more do they need to motivate themselves?
I KNOW A NEW MANAGER, but it never will happen

Imagine how the other teams feal? If only they had referees who wouldn't cheat for The Rangers!
Absolutely disgraceful! He must have seen a potential goal and blew it up for a goal keeper running into his own team mate! If its not gifted penalties or sending opposition players off, it's always the disallowed goals! You all must be very proud!
But I guess it has helped keep ally in a job at least!

Outclassed by Montrose. What's worse it was no surprise that we couldn't beat a team that was gubbed 6-0 last week by the mighty Peterhead.

Yet another shocking performance and like the previous week lucky to get a draw. McCoist is stumbling from one embarrassment to the next. No imagination no creativity and one paced throughout. The players and management are cheating the fans and it's time Green stepped in and got rid of McCoist. The players have clearly stopped playing for him and already fans have stopped attending matches.

Ally doing almost as much damage as Murray and WHyte to Rangers. We wouldnae be in this league if Ally hadn't lost to a pub team in Europe. He's just in it for the money now does anybody seriously think he doesnae know he is a disaster of a manager?
Hope QP get beat later and will are crowned champions then we can get rid of ALly ASAP.
Just hearsd we have 25 x QOS budget & they are miles better. Sad times!

Said it before, I reckon he's lost us £25m in lost revenue in cups. Whilst not the cause of our demise, he is certainly a contributing factor. Worst Rangers manager ever, without question.

Grrr. the more I see this, the more things bother me.
Why are we only trying the same free kick over and over. Okay, we came close once, but we've had them blocked numerous times. Do we really need 3 or 4 players standing over the ball?
For the past few seasons it's been more prevalent. this habit of wearing long sleeved underarmour with a short sleeved shirt. It looks so amateurish! If they want to wear their undies. wear a long sleeved jersey to hide that fact!
Again, playing 4-5-1 against part-timers.
Ally, take control of this lot. And stop coaching a regimented style. The players need to think for themselves on the pitch, not think only one way!

A good manager gets the best from his players. Charlie Adam was used correctly by Ian Holloway and look what he did. Holloway didn't stick a player with zero pace out on the wing. Look what Walter did to Scotland after Vogts. Our youth will have a chance of coming good with the right manager/coach.

On the BBC's Scotland page, under business news, there is an article that states that league attendances for Scottish teams this season are UP by 5%.
Okay is the myth now finally slain?

What a lot of s##t you do post Gas. Your Spl attendances are down from an average 13861 to 9901. the only league that is showing better attendances is the third div because of Rangers attendance 475 last year to 5457 this year. don't let the facts get in your way.
Agree7

That same article states:
The report quotes figures from broadcaster ESPN showing SPL average attendances have fallen from 13, 861 to 9, 901, whereas the top flight of English football has seen rising numbers.
The survey covers the top three divisions in Scotland, excluding the bottom league in which Rangers has been playing this season.
However, it shows that the average gate in that bottom division has risen sharply from 475 last year to 5, 457 this season, much of that explained by high attendances at Ibrox.
Only read what you want to, then stop?

@2) My we are sneaky, you accuse me of only reading what I want and then stop and then what do you do? Cut the article early before the bottom paragraph.
"The survey covers the top three divisions in Scotland, excluding the bottom league in which Rangers has been playing this season.
However, it shows that the average gate in that bottom division has risen sharply from 475 last year to 5, 457 this season, much of that explained by high attendances at Ibrox.
Over all the leagues, total attendance is up this season by 5%, whereas the total has fallen in English leagues, due to lower attendances in the two divisions below the Premiership and Championship. "
See the bit where it says OVER ALL and TOTAL ATTENDANCES ARE UP, focus on that, eh?

The average is down because the rangers attendance isn't counted. The 3rd is up for same reason

Another way to look at this is, gates down 4 thousand on last season, gates up by 5 000 in the SFL from last season! So let's a look at it, the demise of oldco put Potential gates in SPL down by 5000, but in fact they are only down by 4000! Therefore gates are actually up, so I guess you only look at it through your blue tinted glasses to fit your doom and gloom predictions! But I guess that is just wasted on your NEW clubs supporters isn't it!
Agree3

I've just realised some of your ire is perhaps inferring that I intentionally failed to acknowledge Rangers part in that overall rise, I was looking at all 42 teams and merely stating, as the article does, that attendances were up. It goes without saying that due to Rangers position the SPL would be down and division three up. How many times in here have I said ALL 10 clubs in division 3 would be up, numerous times. So of course these figures are in no small part due to Rangers fans efforts and
obviously other fans too.
But if you want further praise then I'm happy to oblige and acknowledge.
Well done thousands and thousands of Rangers fans for turning up in your droves so that you could disprove the doom-monger thousands and thousands of Rangers fans wrong.
There, happy to give credit where its due :)

Yup 10) didn't see much up with the goal myself but you so much as sneeze in a goalies direction these days and it's a foul. Ref had no concept of playing advantage either, both teams suffered from that with him. I think he decided early doors he was playing it safe today and calling every non penalty box marginal foul for both teams.

The sad fact is that the number of fans turning out to see scotlands premier teams competing is dwindling and dwindling fast. I reckon over the course of the season there is AT LEAST ONE MILLION LESS FANS attemding spl matches this season.
Agree2

That so called drop in spl attendances is wholly explained by rangers fc going bust. the difference in total attendances is appx. 800,000. divide that by 18 and you get an approximation of rangers attendance during their last season. overall the situation is, no change.
Agree1
Disagree2
@12) That is not the point I made nor really what is the concern, bottom line is where 100 fans went to a game last season this year it is 105, across the whole of Scottish football and it does put a dampener in the Scottish football is dead claims of the doom and gloom mongers. Irony of irony, the one team in administration since Rangers began in div 3 is in neither division and therefore wasn't directly impacted by it at all.
Gaz

Spl average attendance is down 5,000 but the third div is up 5,000.

With the current squad we would struggle.
Having said that, I think the quality of player signed would be different if we knew we were going into D1
Agree1

If it is difficult to do that with the current squad then why do we have a bunch of players who aren't good enough for SFL 3? If true then it should be another nail in Ally's coffin. If not true, then surely it is the manager's tactics that are wrong. With the focus on signing John Daley it is pretty obvious that next year will be another one of kick and rush football. The only problem being is the team is not fit enough or quick enough to rush even the part timers in our present division. I doubt if there will be any improvement in our football under Ally no matter how mant players he signs and for the first time in 45 years I am considering not renewing my season ticket. There is absolutely no enjoyment watching this Rangers team trying to play football. I know it doesn't matter but I doubt I will be the only person not renewing.

Spot on bluenose. We keep hearing if we stayed in the spl we would be fighting relegation, and we here how green claimed he would sign players from the euros etc.
Facts are that if we had stayed in the spl we would of kept most of the backbone of the team.
And of course green would of considered free transfers of international players. But, we aren't in the spl, so we shouldn't and didn't try to sign them. Shame the facts are masked why the celtic fans who love to jump on the green bandwagon
