Where will the McLeod transfer fee go do we reckon?

Will it pay off McCoist & his coaching staff to appoint a new, cheaper coaching team in order to see if anything can be salvaged from this season or is it simply for working capital?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Probably go towards survival for another month

Pay back some of our debts surely

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2014 00:11:33
Presumably the transfer fee will be paid in instalments like most transfers. Maybe the reason for accepting the Brentford offer was that they were willing to make a single payment. Regardless the money will be used to pay off debts.

Straight I'm Mike Ashleys pocket for the loans he gave us,I expect Wallace and Temps to go next even after they go we will still owe magic Mike money because we will get no where near 2 million for they 2 to pay off the 3 million ,I really can't see us getting much more money with the old men and numptys in our team like moshni and arid law. tougher times ahead troops me thinks!

Sick of people on this being so negative, Macleod's exit was inevitable it was always going to happen skint or not! Final straw will be if young Barrie Mackay doesn't come back from Raith as i'm sick of seeing stevie smith play left mid, surely with Macleod and supposed to be Temps away youd think so??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

McKay will probably extend this loan and Templeton will go on loan too. Leaving Smith on one side and the awful Aird on the other. No doubt Black will still be in the middle despite another shocking performance. It would be great if Templeton and McKay stayed but that would be too clever for McDowall

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean smith who can take a corner, free kick unlike black who thinks he's beckham, we criticised ally for playing McLeod out on the left but now you wanna play a right winger there. McKay isn't great but should be playing before airs on the right, smith should get a run at left back as Wallace has been abysmal lately, always felt Wallace could be a centre half option though as he's quicker than the moshni jig and Zaliukas put together just would need learn to header a ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen the "new wingers" these days? think of it like Ribery and Robben at Bayern are they both playing at there strongest footed side? does aird even get to the by line at the right hand side anyway? wallace CB is nonsense he's our best attacking option at LB

Agree0 Disagree0

@2

Your surely not trying to make a case for Smith playing? He is awful. If u think he should be starting then heaven help u. Of the team that started against Hibs only McGregor and Wallace are worth their place in the team. The rest are either rotten or done or in Black's case both

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times have you seen McKay play? None by the sounds of it because he is not a left midfielder in anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Plenty, haven't we seen aird LM before? barrie could easily a lot into RM to make the experts happy

As it stands Rangers have found their level. Selling young players to get by. There is no knight in shining armour riding to the rescue ready to spend money on new players. It's cut backs all the way here to stay afloat. So either support the team or don't but stopped harping on about getting back where we belong it is not going to happen those days are gone and the reason Rangers are where they are now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The £6.5 million would get us roughly to march, £3million to MA, about £500,000 in charges "& the likes, so after march will struggle to keep the lights on till may!!Yes there will be season ticket money in may, but I can't see there being a stampede too renew or snap them up. Everyone over the last few year has been blamed for this cluster fu#k from boards, whyte, Greene, SPL, SFA, BBC, etc but lest we forget DAvid Murray is the main contributor in all this. It's a pity all the former so called rangers men haven't repaid all there EBT'S as after all they are loans & not a single penny has been returned. Happy New Year when it comes guys, regarding rangers it will be same auld $hite different year!!! Nostradamus wouldn't even have a clue what the future holds!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly, 6.5m is no where near what is required to put a Team together to challenge Aberdeen. SDM caused this with his dream chasing and endless spending.happy days then nightmare result now.

If, as I think, we are on limited time, let's hope it is done and dusted before the 1st. February as I am sure, as hell, that has the potential to be beyond embarassing. It is bad enough what has happened recently but a semi-final against them, as we stand, is a hell of a scary prospect.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2014 19:50:42
Your right BillyB in this state it could turn into a double figure demolition job with a footballing lesson thrown in for good measure no looking forward to that at all. it's a sad time for all us bears mate,we have suffered enough now I feel sick to my stomach with it all!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can honestly say that in nearly 50 years of following Rangers I have never felt worried about any game, even the big European one's because I'm a great believer that anything can happen in a match, call it blind loyalty or whatever you want, but this game against them is bugging me I don't think it's going to be as one sided as some people think, the thing that's bugging me is them lot rubbing it in to us big time especially if they do get a few goal's. Rangers fan's have took one hell of a kicking these last few years, and this might be the last kick for many, but back to my blind loyalty, you never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we r both reading from the same song sheet as Stevie Wonder, but I agree, I don't think it will be the slaughter everyone is expecting.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 18:04:11
That's it! Iv had enough. Macloed going for a million when they have been offered investment makes me sick

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's be honest what you think was gona happen with the boycott? Soo well done to the boycotters, done your team proud!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 22:39:05
They where taking any money for him we r skint its no surprise good luck to the lad hope it goes well and he continues to progress!sad to see him go but expected it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson6 what I thought would happen with the boycott is exactly what we are getting. rid of people who are there for money nothing else. If everyone had bought their season tickets as per usual,, where do you think that money would have gone. wise up for god sake we are a cash cow for the greedy ones.
Its the ones with their heads in the sand that are the main problem in all of this, the ones who think everything was rosy in the Ibrox garden.
So stop blaming loyal fans who care blame the eyes closed brigade who yet again allowed this great team to be robbed and shafted by everyone since SDM etc. all in the name of glory, what a bloody joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ferguson6, we're doing right by the club not the board, the people who pay their money week in and week out should be ashamed on themselves, totally killed our club for good!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson6. You say it's the boycotting that has caused McLeod to go? If we had all stood firm we would have probably had king and the blue Knights running the club by now so there would be no need to sell anyone. Look at how the club is run, we have a dodgy chairman doing deals to keep himself in post alongside the easdales. The quicker we rid the club of this disease the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because I don't agree with the boycotting, doesn't mean I agree with the board either but they have an excuse for selling players now, hopefully the park consortium are successful and dave king doesn't get near as I think that's another can of worms waiting to open.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:43:04
Rangers are in a far worse position than ever before, we have no chance of improving on the park with all the background rubbish from Somers Easdale. no wonder young Mcleod is going, good luck to him, I hope he is a great success, and guys, don't blame the boy, Ally nearly ruined the boy, constantly playing him out wide, we will never get good young players to stay, our whole club mentality is tuck in the 90s when we had buckets of cash. We missed the boat on bringing young talent through the ranks. We are reaping what we sowed. I am one heartbroken Ranger, I really am worried about our survival. Again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2014 19:42:46
Can this board of ours not get into serious trouble for not letting genuine investment into our club instead of paltry loans from a billionaire who owns another football club and just under 10% of our club but seems to be pulling all the strings. I'm getting sick to death of all this lack of transparency and turmoil,I renewed my ST this year but I dint think I will be giving these spivs any more of my money. I am now turning towards boycotting I was against it at first but now I think it's the only way to oust these scumbags once and for all. enough is enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:19:22
heard from bbc rangers are about to let in new investment. so why the f@@k did we sell mcleod in the first place and for just 1m

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The report said that the board told the BBC that they are open to investment. They will still want to do everything they can to keep control and not deal with Park or King.

Don't get your hopes up just yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nail and coffin, the only thing that comes to mind. And best of luck to young Lewis.

Investment of 6.5 million of that 3 million has to be returned to MA by end of april that leaves 3.5 million that will see jan/feb/mar/apr costs so no choice but to sell players one for the money and reduce overheads more to go if we are offered any money for any player.

Macleod's a disgrace? that's BS and everyone knows it, it's not fault he's in an under performing rangers who off field are a mess, plus when Ian blacks getting 9k odd no wonder he's leaving!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate, agree, should have a young team gaining experience. Obviously has never been the agenda under the regime.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 16:34:30
Look it's mcleods fault, very sad to c him go, but let's not all kid on here, he's better off away from the club, we're disgrace on the park and a disgrace off it! Glad for the boy to get his chance away, a wish him well, just hope he gives himself justice down there, I will never be back up at Ibrox again, not unless this disgrace of a club gets themselfs sorted out, nearly 4 years of this vile bile coming out the club we all love, I'm calling out for each and every single rangrrs supporter not to attend Saturday's game, we need to starve the club of as much money as we can, we've got them pair of prixxs up er shouting oh we don't take any money out the club, yeah that's true, BUT THEYR STOPPING INVESTORS COMING IN! A didn't even watch the game on Saturday, only go to home games, iv got ssn, STILL didn't watch them, if they can't raise they'r game when the manager says he's away at the end of the season; they'll NEVER b able to raise they'r game for McDowell, a don't care about them now, y should I fall out with my girlfriend and people I work with for laughing at the comedy show up there, so iv chucked it! The best thing to happen to us now would b to start from the beginning again, we've tried to do the right thing by the club, and it's worse than it's EVER BEEN! My health comes first! Glasgow Rangers you's are a complete joke of a club, and players have no bottle whatsoever!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who in their right mind would take the job with no plan moving forward.

30 Dec 2014 16:12:25
could this be our board now selling the last assets before we go into admin 1 million for lewis is a shocking fee time for these persons to move on that running our club sick of them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2014 13:26:21
The Lewis Macleod thing is disgraceful in all aspects. It completely puts pay to automatic promotion or even promotion through play offs.
Macleod himself, for me anyway, is a complete disgrace. If I were playing for rangers and had he talent and passion for the club that he 'has', and still getting his decent wages from rangers, I would NEVER trade that for such a mediocre club as brentford. Regardless of rangers situation right now it makes no sense that a true fan would move for that.
I understand that the club probably feel they have to sell right now but, in our predicament, 1m is neither here nor there and won't change very much at all when we don't get promoted

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2014 13:40:26
Tell it to the man DavidSomers@rangers.co.uk

Agree0 Disagree0

Are u serious Macleod should not go? Play in the championship or the 1st division in Scotland! Even the Spfl is not as good the championship. Look after number 1. Do you think easdale etc are looking out for Macleod etc? To say brentford are mediocre and we play in 1st division with no money sh**e players and no direction I am sick of listening back to where we belong. At the moment we are lucky to be where we are. Give it 12 months and see if we are still doing as well!

Agree0 Disagree0

Macleod is gone to late for any protests

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 I am serious that Macleod should not go to brentford. It is a sorry state of affairs at rangers for sure but to expect every talented player to become a self-orientated mercenary doesn't sit we'll with me after all the club has done for him since the age of 10. Without this club who knows if he'd even have made it professional and to jump at the first sign of transfer is poor form. If it was an established premier league club offering big wages etc I can begin to understand but a newly promoted championship club who less than 5 years ago were in league 2 with no pedigree or history or massive fan base I cannot I'm afraid. Football should not be all about money for a 20 year old.

I'm sure, however, that there was an element of disgraceful pushing of the deal from our board.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fraser, get real. Rangers are not in the business of turning down decent offers for decent players. Have you not noticed the last few years. We are being bled dry, and the directors have to make it look like they are trying to balance the books, somewhat. If the guy moves on it is up to him. If he is a true fan he should use his head rather than his heart. In case you have not noticed, Rangers are pretty mediocre at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 15:23:35
Don't think you can blame young MacLeod for wanting to leave given what is happening at Ibrox, if this is the case and he really does want to leave! Maybe it's the SDM/Alan Hutton scenario all over again. Aye, ye'll be going! Right now, these spivs will snap your hand off for a million quid. Hate to say it but Scmck is right. If MacLeod has what it takes he needs to be down south. Scottish football is f***ed. Ask any Celtic supporter how he really feels about his team and the fact we're not in the top league challenging them. Brentford? They are on the up just now, unlike us!

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as it goes what they get forvthe down payment won't help them much its one of the results of the boycott need I say more

Agree0 Disagree0

What I will say if macleod is pushing to go its just the same as jamie ness out injured club pays wages for long and weary and then they run away

Agree0 Disagree0

Young mcleod wouldn't have had a say in the matter the person board would have told him what he was doing and even for the purest of gers who the f@@k would want to stay at the club the way things are going

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:07:37
when are people going wake up boycotts this boycotts that blame them for everything get a grip of reality and direct your anger towards the board they have blew every single penny we have gave them the have had our backing long enough and done nout u can sit back and keep paying them there wages or get off our buts grow a pair and start fighting back so we get our club sick of people blaming ordinary fans as for macleod u do not no the reasons he left there is a lot more going on at our club than people think and it is directly affecting the players good luck to the boy

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:16:17
So stay at Rangers with poor coaching and chance they will go into admin and be unable to pay the wages whilst playing in front of a two thirds empty stadium in the SPFL Championship or go to an up and coming English championship can pay your wages (probably a wage rise) and perhaps improve you enough that an EPL club takes you on? Are you really questioning why he left?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the guys thinking ,why should he stick around and fight for the club, when the manager, chickens out the promotion fight, and does a runner, as soon as results are not going his way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bluebeard he was never going to win with this joke of a team

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 22:44:06
Get a grip Fraser the lad is moving to a far bigger league with a team that's holding there own in the division!we r a nothin team now that can't even win scotlands 2nd tier a total sham he's better off out we will just ruin his development!good luck lad!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 12:28:10
With attendances now less than 20,000. which straw will be the final straw for these fans?
MacLeod being sold to Brentford for £1m?
Board refusing to take the £6.5m from the 3 Bears and resort to sending begging letters on Boxing Day to Ashley, Kennedy, etc?
The woeful performances by the overpaid and over-rated players?
McDowall continuing to pick same team and same style of play that we've watched for 3 long seasons?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2014 12:50:54
Lets face facts until you get rid of the board we will not have a team on the park if we had brought on promising youngsters the board would have sold them to line their pockets . Somers treated the fans with contempt and second class citizens at agm not one cares as long as he gets paid which I doubt if the players have had their dues,i would down tools if my boss was sipping champagne and I had not been paid I think more is happening behind the scenes . we have got to hope we get rid of them even if it means staying in championship for another season

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 13:22:04
I think everyone can now see that replacing Ally was not the answer, any team he put out would not have lost so heavily to any team let alone Hibs.
He was the heart and soul of Rangers and loved this club, I believe he resigned as a matter of principal over all the redundancies. Any monies he received as well as any monies from shares he was given he deserves and earned.
He has now earned the club £1m as it was him who nurtured macleod and all the other Murray Park kids.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 14:52:18
Is that a joke? He nurtured him what planet are you on he wouldn't even play him in his preferred position, what kids from murray park did he nurture. He filled the squad with old men who have no hunger what so ever, he bought nicky Clarke a young man that scored 30 plus goals in division 1 and would prefer to play boyd miller and daily before him. He didn't improve 1 player over the 4years he was in charge, and for all the hassle he received with administration and liquidation and sticking with us he was payed rather handsomely for the aggro

Agree0 Disagree0

Clarkston Bud: I agree with you up to a point, getting rid of McCoist only serves a purpose if you have someone capable in line to step in and take over, we don't have that and are probably worse off, ever since we knew he was going we have been even worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clarkston bud u have had to much clarkston budweiser if u think ally was resposible for lewis macleod

Agree0 Disagree0

@2) ". he resigned as a matter of principal over all the redundancies. "

Do you really belive that? If that was the case, would he not have walked away rather than handed in his 12 months notice and have his pay revert back to its original level? Doing that might have saved those jobs, or others which could be on the line in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooly 78 for me the problem he had was he didn't buy Clark he was a free just like all the rest were would have been better if we had bought young players with potential and brought them through but the board didn't want transfer fees no scouting system anyway just older players pay a bit more on wages but no transfer fees as for bringing our own youth through we don't have any the good ones left when we went into liquidation and we haven't brought in any to replace them we offered Telford a contract but he turned it down to sit on united, s bench you need to pull your head out of the sand and look upstairs that's where our problems are until we rid ourselves of these leeches we will not move on begging letters being sent out at four am on boxing day selling probably our only decent young player disgraceful

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally handed in his notice he did not resign big difference. In fact £750,000 of a difference. Ally couldn't do the job and neither can McDowall it was ludicrous to give him the job. As for McLeod can't blame him for leaving. maybe he will get some proper coaching and become the player that his potential suggests. Next out the door will be Wallace but after that I can't see many clubs wanting any of our over paid players. Possibly Templeton on loan somewhere but that will be it

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:28:22
Cooperboy we've never brought are own players through the ranks even when we had money and a different board, telfer didn't sign a contract because he wasn't going to get a game not because of money I'd hazard a guess rangers probably offered more money, and you talk about not paying out on transfer fees Derek mcinnes hasn't spend much on transfer fees and look at the job he has done, mccoist was a very poor manager end off! How many jobs is he ever linked with none! There's a reason for that

Agree0 Disagree0

Clarkston bud either your a celtic man or you have been sniffing glue. mccoist was the answer gees peace

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 17:43:11
Rangers "owe" Ashley £3M.
He has ordered the sale of our best player.
End of.
We will not finish third.
We will be hoovered in the cup by that mob.
Sad facts.
Lucky to be in Europe within 5 years
That's if we survive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooly you've missed the point again i'm not standing up for Ally i'm trying to point out the failings of this board I can't even think about a manager because as long as this board is here we won't move on £70 mill we've went through and look at the team we have no money no scouting system selling our one decent young player sending out begging letters and while all this is going on there is two offers of investment not loans which is just our own money being lent back to us secured against assests £9. 25 in every £10 in our kit deal goes to Ashley and people think he is our saviour he's robbing us blind so I have no problem with Ally going I just wish a few of our board members had followed him

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 18:56:22
Mccoist backed every money grabber that came in to are club, it wasn't that long go he was welcoming Ashley to the club! He wanted king and Ashley to work together. In my opinion he's as bad as the current board, if he was such a rangers man why didn't he resign without receiving a penny and blow the lid on what's been going on.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2014 23:55:22
StYAB: Nobody knows the reasons for him resigning, the redundancies may very well have played a part.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2014 08:45:56
He didn't resign! He is still getting paid there's a difference between resigning and handing in your notice! I've heard all this shit about mccoist leaving because of the redundancies well why did he and his cronies not chip in and pay there wages especially his own secretary! he's no hero!

Agree0 Disagree0

Holy 78: Ok he left then, but you tell me any manager who would have done that with the money, to me that's a lot of s***. It seems that Ally had to lay down his career to help out the club, am not a big Ally fan but everything he did was treated with suspicion, even when he had his wages deferred, oh yeah it was because it had come out in the press, give me peace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Holy 78: I've heard all this s*** about him paying to save redundancies, you tell me what manager would have done this? Answer None. You guys are priceless, he gets slagged mercilessly, yes, don't interrupt and you look to him to save the club, he probably would have got no credit if he had done that, the guy couldn't do right for doing wrong and I ain't an Ally fan but the guy's moves were always treated with suspicion, bet you he's glad to be away from the lot of you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - actually it has happened a number of times that well off players drop into the non-league or lower league as managers and put their own personal money into those clubs to keep them afloat and stave off things such as redundancies. Dietmar Hamann being a recent example, he went into Stockport County as manager and actually ended up paying gas and electricity bills etc out of his own pockets as the alternative was to make low paid staff redundant. McCoist is an extremely wealthy man, why couldn't he have had his wages deferred under the condition that it went fully to pay the wages of a number of the staff that would otherwise be laid off? Other than personal greed of course.}

31 Dec 2014 11:20:27
Well said ed! What connection did dietmar hamann have with Stockport none what so ever it was just the right thing to do! Rangers made mccoist a very wealthy man, and another thing he only took a pay cut because green shamed him into it by releasing his Salary,FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

He still would have got no credit, it's not well said Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2014 11:48:46
End of the day, why should he? There his wages and yes he took a lot of shit to earn them

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he took nothing. What is wrong with people? What on earth did he take? He had 800k paid into his bank account for doing a job he loves! The man is lucky and still deluded people try and claim he is some kind of hero. For heaven's sake, all he does is things he wants to do and gets paid ludicrous amounts for not being particularly good at them. I am sick of this idiocy about how difficult it was! The man had it easy. He should be in the non-leagues learning his craft where it is difficult, instead of being molly coddled by deluded fans.}

Fact nothing and even if that was true he didn't need to do it and that's rich to say Green shamed anyone into anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - wow, you really must be related to him or you need help! Morals must be non-existent in your world!}

Hooly78 we all backed the previous boards to some degree or other we all hoped white was the answer then we hoped green was the answer it wasn't just Ally. Ally was on a higher salary before he joined Rangers and if your telling me that this whole mess has not taken a toll on him then I suggest that you must be blind. Remember this, Ally has left, so change the record.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2014 12:11:52
Ed if your attitude is what he had to put up with then I say again he's happy to be away, are your morals so greT then, maybe you should put yourself on his shoes as manager before you talk such deluded rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - grow up. You think this is any more to put up with than any job has to cope with? Such an idiotic comment. You need to get a life lad. My morals are fine. I don't let other people go out of work so I can keep my huge wages intact. I have been in a similar situation, though I was on a lot less money, and chose to take a pay cut to protect the jobs of those I worked with. He can afford to work for free, but he still chose to carry on taking huge money out of pure greed, that is lacking morals and defending him shows you lack them too. No wonder the world is in such a state with people like you in it. All you have done is post childish insulting comments, so you are now blocked until you grow up, and your other comments are deleted that you aimed at other posters. You have no defence so resorted to slagging people off, give it a rest or don't come back.}

Looks like McLeods on his way, £1m to Brentford. Whenever did Rangers sell their best player to a team such as Brentford? Tic, hibees, hearts or the Dons, would be better causing further embarrassment by buying him, developing him and selling him on for £5m over a 3yr period.

It's boycotting that causes these situations, the laughing stock of football. Scot87 has hit the nail on the head. No income and have to sell. As for product the Rangers B team would never win the Championship nor achieve play-offs, in fact struggle to remain in that division. It would take another 5yrs to get into the top league. That's another 5yrs to 10yrs of Tic in CL. Easy long term money for them whilst Rangers get sweet SFA. We would never catch Tic.

Rangers phaffing about with £1m, £3m here and £6.5m there ain't going to work short term. We need someone who very soon is going to punt in a lot of money like £50m, re-structure, re-organise and get into the CL. That is where the money is and that is where that person will get a return on investment. That's where the fans will get a return in investment. Importantly that person has to have the backing of the fans.

I note Ed sways anti Ashley, but we need someone like that who will put a manager and infrastructure in place to put a product on the field, get the fans back, and get us back in CL like the old days. That is why Ashley should be asked to deliver his game plan. Very surprised no leaks from the SFA board albeit I would expect the legal fraternity are all over that.

Not doing so, then it's continuing in house fighting, a poor product on the field, no support, worsening doom and gloom until eventually Ibrox becomes Ibrox Towers, Murray Park becomes Murray Park Estate, and Rangers no more. Only the shareholders benefit out of that scenario. Is that every Rangers fan really wants because it is getting close?

Why is it boycotting that causes this there ain't no boycott happening people have seen through this board Ashley don't make me laugh your blinded by the billionaire tag he is taking £9. 25 out of every £10 the fans spend then lends us our money back secured against our assets where did the £70 mill go we had some people got very rich from us I renewed my season ticket but stopped going along with two friends we have been season ticket holders for over 35 years but were not boycotting we have had enough of this board they care not one hoot about us why seel our most promising player when there is two offers of investment on the table not loans but investment answer that one

Guys i'm fed up waiting for somebody too do something so why don't we orgainse something for the hearts game? Its on telly why not orgainsse a protestt aroubd ibrox?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good idea, with the cameras there it would expose what is going on and perhaps embarrass some buisiness men who might not want their brand associated to the hostile goings on. After the protest outside we should fill the stadium and continue the protest for 90mins on live TV.

I think its a brillant idea but most bears all seem to talk about it but not do it.

The best investment right now is fans filling the stadium we as fans have showed in the past why we r the best fans in Britain at the least standing by our club a hope we get back to filling the ground and just support the team for 90 min forget out troubles for that 90min and give back some confidence to our team come on fellow bears

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I used to be like you. Now I have to say that I have gone completely the other way and feel real anger towards the head in the sand brigade. If there was a method of supporting the team without putting a penny into the coffers I would be all for it! But as there isn't I think the time for an all out boycott has come that includes games and all merchandising until Somers, the easdales and Lambias have gone! Lie after lie after lie, begging for investment to keep their greatly little palms holding onto power. Selling McLeod today is the final straw for me.

Attending matches now only condones the boards behaviour. I would urge fans to attend ibrox but only to sing from outside the ground. Selling Lewis for pocket change is the final straw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct attending matches is supporting the board anybody thinking otherwise is clueless

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 selling Lewis is the inevitable conclusion to the boycott and Wallace will have to go as well. When I bought my season ticket I did not buy it to line anyones pocket I bought it in return for 18, or whatever, home games, this contract is being honered by the board the fact that the football is gash is not a good reason for me to stop going. And i'm sorry to say, if the boycott continues then things are not going to get better any time soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

We did fill the stadium for the last two years where did it get us all money gone now sending out begging bowels at four in the morning and now selling our best young player ill never be back till the board has gone

Get sum legal people to take a payment from very fan outside the stadium at every game and use the cash every week to buy shares, as many as possible, or offer the club the money on loan, which we ask for legal guarantees, which will be looked after by a small select group of fans,

Why are we offloading macloed for just 1 million when septic demand 5-10 million for a player keep hold of him even for 2 more years atleast get more for him but the board as per want a quick fix of 1 million we should be saving money elsewhere like selling the deadwood players I. e foster black Mosni and a few others we need to rebuild around guys like macloed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Scott

The answer is simple. RIFC is on its ***e and the quickest way to generate cash to keep the club afloat is to sell assets quickly - players. This is the last straw and further evidence of how poor a condition Rangers are in. MacLeod will not be the last and there could be two or three more within the month. £1M for Macleod at this stage of his career and given the level of football he is playing at is actually good money (and yes he is worth more but not at the moment given our poor bargaining power).

Who would have thought we would ever be selling our best assets to Brentford.

30 Dec 2014 11:53:54
Who in there right mind would pay money for moshni, black are foster? Mcleod,Wallace and probably bell are the only sellable players in my opinion at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcleod being sold for 1m is an insult and will probably go into ashleys pocket rest of our team would struggle to play junior football barr wallace

Agree0 Disagree0

How quickly things go pear shaped. The impact of Whittaker's sending off against Malmo and loss of Champion's League football, that off Steven Smith's red card against Hearts and a sudden massive points deficit followed by McCoist's exit within two weeks.

That McLeod sees Brentford as a better option than Rangers pretty much sums it up at the club. We cooked our goose in opting for veterans and ignoring youth two years ago. But hey, we went unbeaten last season and won by 39 points. Fat lot of good it's doing us now!

I agree Mols, its a sad state of affairs all round, but Brentfords dough is as good as anyones.I think McCleod has taken a good look around him,at the joke training methods, playing second fiddle to "wee Blackie" and gone f**k this!We know things are badly amiss, but I think the players have been told there will be no wages this/next month.I think Kennedy will be back with a deal on his terms soon,as Somers allegedly went cap in hand to him recently.

I don't agree with selling young Mcleod but 1million is a fair price for someone who plays in 2nd division in Scotland! Sporting Lisbon paid 3million for ryan gauld and he was in premier league, I think hull only paid 2million for Andy robertson, I would fear we are going into administration and there maybe trying to sell on are best players before that, remember whyte sold jelavic weeks before we went into it last time

Let's be honest here, there is not a player at Ibrox worth 1 mil, not when we play such shxxe, its a sad day when a young bluenose goes to Brentford, but they are actually doing well and it is a far better shop window for lewis, I don't agree that he is a great player, not by a long shot, nor do I believe Wallace is anything special, therefore, 1million for any rangers player is a good deal, we have been watching so much garbage for years now we have forgotten what real good Rangers players look like, I pray for dramatic change soon, we are close to the edge guys

If true I would like to wish the lad all the best, I think £1m is a little on the light side, why in the time of black Fridays, boxing day sales, didn't we offer Brentford a buy one get 10 free deal. No playoffs this season i'm afraid.

Lewis Macleod will go on to play in the Premiership so hopefully Rangers have a sell on clause if he signs for Brentford.
TBH he is worth more than £1 million.

Just read in the record that Somers was sending Emails at 4AM Boxing Day to try and secure funds. He contacted Kennedy as well as others to underwrite the share issue.

But by the looks if it not King nor Park. Is it just the mans ego the reason for not wanting to sell to these two?!
Incredible. I'm assuming it's because both want seats on the board. ( I think)

Really want the news that he has secured another loan from Ashley to hurry up, the suspense of nearly being rescued from these frankly evil men kills me every time it happens.

I am surprised that the SFA did not refer back to previous examples when one person had interests in two clubs at the same time, before making their decision to refuse Ashley's proposal to up his shareholding

A good example for liewell to consider may have been his own major shareholder who was part of a consortium that owned 28. 7% of Manchester United at the same time as he was the major shareholder of a scottish club.

On second thoughts, no I'm not at all surprised!

JG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Lawell was a minor part of a consortium and it is not the same at all. He wielded no power at Man Utd, while Ashley is in complete control of Newcastle and wanted complete control of Rangers to be ratified by the SFA. You should be thanking Lawell, Ashley is not a good owner. He put Pardew in place because Pardew owed Llambias money, so his wages are infinitesimal, not because he thought he could do a good job. Everything he does is about maximising profit margin for himself. He has even gone public that he has no interest in winning trophies or even competing for them, as that would involve investing in Newcastle. All he wants is to take money out. Is that really what you want as an owner? Surely what you want is someone who wants to maximise the club's revenue to give it more money to spend and enable it to win trophies, rather than to line his already bulging pockets with more money taken off the back of other people's hard work. Hard work which they get little compensation in return for doing.}

Ed001 – you read my post wrong
It was not Liewell, it was Dermot Desmond who was part of a consortium that owned 28. 7% of Manchester United (before selling out to glazier) while holding over 50% in Celtic, much the same as Ashley wants to own with us
If you believe he had now power then read Fergies book, in there you will see that he personally called Fergie and told him not to make an offer for Larrson who was with Celtic at that time, sporting integrity anybody?
It appears to me there are many in Scottish football backed up by a media campaign who do not want to see Ashley taking over Rangers, makes mne wonder why, but if he could turn Rangers into a company that makes a profit three years in a row, with solid management and a decent team on the pitch which includes promising youngsters, then that would do for me, if he makes a few quid along the way that’s business, the guy Desmond takes 4% dividend on his shares every year, nobody boycotts about that, what's the difference?
Anyway you got your opinion I got mine
JG

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - and yet the Celtic fans are fed up of seeing their team being weakened so that the board can pocket that money.....

The rules were set up to stop situations like the one you are referring to, how is that a bad thing? You are so bitter and deluded in your bias that you think people are against you because they aren't rolling over and doing all that the spivs currently in charge at Rangers ask them to. It is pathetic and embarrassing that bitter fans are attacking everyone else instead of the ones who are really at fault in this situation. Stop looking short term and think of the future of your club, and not be blinded by the fact Ashley's fat wallet is only matched by the size of his fat gut. He will do nothing but take from the fans to feed his own greed.}

I suppose your right in one sense JG you say Desmond takes 4% every year and no one boycotts if Ashley did the same he might get better support but in merchandise alone he takes £9. 25 out of every £10 spent by the fans bit more than your 4% then he lends us our own money back in secured loans against assets he already has holds over Albion Car Park and Edmiston House at this rate he will own everything by the end of the season look at Newcastle they owe Ashley £140 mill they are stuck with him now just because he is a billionaire does not mean he wants to bank roll us he wants as much as he can get out of us wake up our club is on the edge and for me thank god the SFA had the balls to say no their are Rangers men offering investment NOT loans let get them involved before its to late we need people we can trust to run this club we had close to £70 mill three years ago look at us now sending out emails at 4am on boxing day begging people to invest in us while there is two investment offers on the table I along with two other friends renewed our season tickets after weeks of soul searching lost our seats of over thirty years but after attending the share holders meeting and seeing the utter contempt shown to the fans (minor shareholders) like us we all agreed we won't be back not a boycott not because of Ally or McDowall nor the poor form of the team but because of a board that is rotten to the core and while we the fans sit fiddling Rome is burning

Don't see the problem with Llambias, he's doing what others couldn't do in the past and that's cut costs! Top to bottom being the key word. I don't see any of the top guys (the Board) taking a reduction in wages. That is where the real money is hemerging from.
