There is a lot of talk about selling Morelos and looking for a replacement, but I think we should keep him and keep our GOOD talent and push the boat out for a top drawer CB / Captain - if we do that then we have a strong spine - GK / CB / MF / Striker.

The question is who would fit the bill?

30 Apr 2019 20:25:49
What's wrong with Tav as captain?

30 Apr 2019 20:59:58
It looks as though Morelos wants to leave.

30 Apr 2019 21:01:01
Fredo najor liability cash in and thanks for the goals IMHO.

30 Apr 2019 21:20:58
Would love to have a Terry Butcher or a Richard Gough as CB / Captain. Maybe Liam Cooper at Leeds Utd would fit the bill.

30 Apr 2019 21:35:44
Players like that are outlawed in today’s game . how many red card would these guys get in a season if they played now? Football has evolved time to start looking for players like big Virgil.

30 Apr 2019 22:00:38
You mean like broonie?

30 Apr 2019 22:06:27
Tav may be captain but he is no commander - a bit like 'square baw' mcstay, a good player but too quiet.

01 May 2019 01:27:49
Tav is fine
Quick ch n a forward good to go.

01 May 2019 02:28:44
It's safe to say, Morelos does want to leave for the EPL or similar, but our club will have a price (£10m+? ) and I can't see many clubs queuing up to pay it given his record of losing the rag. I think we'll need him next season if we're to stand a realistic chance of getting back on top. With Defoe vying for his place, you never know - he might screw the nut and bang in 40, win us the title and go to an Everton or a Leicester for 20m.

Hi folks just thought I'd pitch in on the Docherty rumours.
I do think he would struggle for game time just now and the best thing is a loan to another SPL club just to see where he is at.
I know people are against him going to Hibs due to previous experiences but as others have pointed out he would strengthen them against others but not play against us and in the grand scale of things could smooth the way for future transfers from them should we require.
However my preferred option (of my own creation admittedly) is we send him to Motherwell. As part of a bid for young Turnbull. Basically we buy Turnbull but send both to Motherwell on loan for the season. Giving 2 young Scottish players a chance to gel for the benefit of Rangers.

30 Apr 2019 19:13:26
Bluegenius I was actually thinking the same but with the young lad porteous at Hibs instead of Turnbull, but would Hibs be willing to sell their most promising prospect to us? I very much doubt it to be honest but money talks as they say.

30 Apr 2019 19:33:21
Broxi imo we make it an all or nothing deal.

30 Apr 2019 20:03:58
Give hibs nothing.

01 May 2019 11:16:35
Broxi
I posted this months ago; Porteous is exactly what we need, the right age, level of commitment, affordable and a decent amount of skill in passing and in the tackle.
Hibs should be more amenable as their squad is creaking a bit and need money or loan players.

01 May 2019 21:31:35
DEEB - we should never do any business with hibs. They despise us and will use us to inflate any players price . Leave them as a selling club to Celtic.

30 Apr 2019 17:23:29
I know it's only rumours but I hope it's not true about young docherty as I think he could still be an important player for us! A full season in a tough league hopefully has improved the lad. He's to good for Hibs plus I wouldn't be doing them any favours.

01 May 2019 09:37:19
Lets get the boy Docherty back at Ibrox for preseason. Believe he has scored something like 10 goals whilst playing in midfield position in England and none of them penalties. The boy has a great attitude and wants place in first team squad next season.

Right guys Ryan Kent. push the boat out and try to sign (possibly taking 3/ 4of our transfer budget )? Another loan ( my preference) or is he away? My take on him is that although he's very talented, quick, young hard working player there's not too much of an end product from the kid. I believe Jamie Murphy bein out all year has really hurt us as I think he woulda finished top on assists and probably been good for 15 goals. What I'm basically tryin to say is that Jamie Murphy is the player that Ryan Kent should be. Both can beat a man, both are quick and direct but with Murphy there's usually an end product to benefit the team. Think I saw Kent consistently lose the ball or give it away against the sheep. Kents a smashin player n no doubt will go on to have a very good career but I don't think he's worth the money bein quoted. if we get him back on loan then thumbs up fae me. if we're priced out or he decides to try elsewhere then so be it. not too fussed! Murphy ( hopefully the same player after the knee injury) after a full pre season is going to be raring to go.

30 Apr 2019 17:45:59
Fair post, lot's of trickery but not enough end product.

30 Apr 2019 19:21:47
I’ve also noticed this. His decision making at times can be very poor and have seen myself shouting at him for trying to take on too many players instead of making the simple obvious pass. He is still young though and still learning so improved decision making should come with age. For what it’s worth I would love to see him back for another season loan as I think Liverpool will price us out of a permanent move for him.

30 Apr 2019 10:02:46
Docherty to hibs? your havin a laugh, yes they can have him for £20 million. I for one will never ever forget the collusion between them and their manky parent club.

Yes the player took the money and proved he was not the true blue boyhood club supporter he professed to be.

He could have sat it out for a free transfer at the end of that season but no, the money talks same for everyone tho.

30 Apr 2019 11:32:05
Yeah bluebilly, they are probably looking at a loan, they have a cheek I’ll give them that, I hope Docherty is playing for his place at Ibrox next season.

30 Apr 2019 12:41:47
it would stick in my throat to help Hivs out in anyway whatsoever, but devil's advocate if he goes on loan then he strengthens them Vs other teams in the league and can't play against us?

30 Apr 2019 14:17:24
Ah yes forgot about that Snell, thanks.

30 Apr 2019 07:11:43
Just a wee post to congratulate Jon Flanagan on his recent contribution to the team. The lad looks focused and lean and it’s no coincidence that we look more solid now that we’re back to the back 5 we went on our undefeated run with back at the start of the season. definitely a good cover option for right and left back.

30 Apr 2019 10:14:23
Totally agree mate Flanagan has been a rock, and so has katic, we definitely missed him in previous abersheep games, he for me was the difference in that last encounter, well plus the fact we totally destroyed them 🤣 100% has to be Goldson and katic starting from now on.

30 Apr 2019 11:34:11
Great post. Flannigan has played well the last couple of games he has came back in to the squad. Credit it to the guy.

30 Apr 2019 12:11:41
That's right, the lad just doesn't become a bad player overnight. He has a bit of devilment in him as well which i like.

30 Apr 2019 12:33:52
Flanagan looks a completely different player, he looks sharp and a lot more confident. Katic has been class, goldson looks more comfortable beside katic. Kamara is a steal. Our midfield looks great and defoe is a breathe of fresh air. We look more like a recognised rangers team in terms of how we dominate play, dictate the tempo and how we have a fight about us. Very happy👍.

30 Apr 2019 16:30:30
Agreed Coldo, just need to keep the levels up now and try to get 2/ 3 starters in the summer. Kent will need replaced although I think Murphy can do a job in that position. We need another midfielder ideally a first pick and I believe we could improve at CH also!
